Ostello Tergeste in Monfalcone

Amazing location, familiar welcome and efficient service. I recommend this place to the travellers who want to spend little and be reachable by public transport.

Freshly renovated very nice rooms, super kind staff and a great seafood restaurant, definitely recommended! (Dont forget to reserve a table up frontAir conditioning would be great for the rooms as with this heat wave it was a bit hot, but still good for a one night stay right at the seaside.

La struttura non è più un ostello ma un B&B con camere matrimoniali e un ristorante ottimo di cui parlerò più avanti.Check in e check out rapidissimi, colazione vista mare eccellente e personale disponibile e accogliente. Sono stata qui con la mia famiglia (eravamo in 6, divisi in 3 camere matrimoniali essenziali, tutte vicine e tutte vista mare). Lo consiglio a tutti come soggiorno, è affianco a Villa Miramare e non distante dal centro (ben collegato da autobus)Il ristorante:Abbiamo fatto sia pranzo che cena. Entrambe le esperienze da 5 stelle. Sia per il servizio (estremamente attento, mia sorella è allergica a un sacco di cose e sono stati bravissimi a soddisfare le sue richiestesia per qualità di cibo e vino.Il ristorante è vista mare e con piatti freschi (e accesso a disabili).Ci ritornerò sicuramente

It lies in a most enchanting front-sea position. The building hosting the youth hostel is fascinating and the annexed "Terrazzo" is superb... meals are also served on the front sea terrace. Opening times are not always clear and "billboarding" infos might be misleading or updated the least.

Stuffs were very friendly, other than that, pretty basic. Mosquitoes and below average breakfast, toilets not well maintained.

Great location, away from the hectic city and near Castle Miramare!! Had a little trouble with parking as there were no free spaces, but the hostess created one for me. View is beautiful! Rooms are outdated, with only 1 electrical socket in the entire room (8beds). There was a multiple socket box plugged in it which made it 4. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast was nice.

Everyone is very friendly, talk almost every language, beautiful View, very close to Miramare and the sea Is infront. Easy access to buses. Breakfast Is included and the service Is very nice.

Excellent seaside location, far out but easily reached by bus from city(arrange a ticket before you boardstaff will helpfully store luggage, good quality accommodation, simple evening meal available. Walking distance along promenade to beautiful castle.

Pros: Amazing location with gorgeoussea views. You can be swimming within 5 minutes. Close to the 6 and 36 bus lines to Trieste, 20 mins from the central station. Free luggage storage. Helpful staff. CHEAP PRICES!Cons: Breakfast was cereal and bread and underripe fruit. No soap in the bathrooms.The value for money is excellent.

Not even soap in the bathroom...have they ever thought about coli bacterias? 🤔everything needs to get renovated and cleaned up properly. Staff not very friendly. Offered me to prepare me breakfast as I had to leave before breakfast time. But they didnt.

Regular rooms, they have a balcony really nice to chill. The place is nice and in front of the ocean.

Mixed thoughts. Staff is friendly and rooms are clean, but restaurant was not open, no toiletries, not even a plastic cup. Breakfast was minimal, bread and cereal, coffee and juice. Price was way too high for off season. Location was ok, nice view.

In Italy there is no hostel culture. The hostel per sé is not bad but it is too far from city center and there is only one single shower and toilet for 10 people. All on all it is better to go on a 1 star hotel downtown in Triest

Our favourite place to stay in or around Trieste. Beautiful area close frome Miramare castle and the sea is just across the road! Cosy place, terraces with beautifull views and nice people, 100% recomendation :)

The hosts were very kind and helpful, the location is perfect for chilling after a long interrail.

Friendly, English-speaking staff. Nearby swimming in the clearest water in the Adriatic, just ask. Facilities are clean and service professional. The owner is a little crabby and speaks only German and Italian, but has a heart off gold. The nearby restaurant is a little pricey and if you do not like fish maybe head into Trieste for pizza. I enjoyed my time there.

I liked the place so much. It was very clean and came with breakfast. I felt safe and that helped me to relax. I recommend this place because it was beautiful and clean.. the views of the rocky beach were gorgeous. It is just a short distance to the castle and not for from Trieste tourist locations. I am definitely considering coming back to this beautiful place and the hostel.

Ive been here before years ago and the price was good so i came back.. This time it was much nicer. The room was kept very clean and it was a pleasure to stay. I plan on coming back to Trieste again and will stay here. The resteraunt was clean and the food was good.. The view of the Water from the balcony was very nice.. My wife and I had a great time. The staff was friendly and the area of Miramare was gorgeous. The castle was nice to visit as well. Ill be back again next summer for sure. Breakfast is provided and is tasty.. the beach is a beautiful rock beach along the coast. But not far away is a sand beach.

My husband and I just got back from Italy and we spend amazing time in Trieste and staying in this hostel was very nice .Rooms were super clean and smell fresh and clean ,bathrooms are clean and look like bathrooms in California . We were amazed how much this place improved in last few years because now is cleaner and restaurant was very nice.We want to Thank everyone who work hard in this hostel to keep it clean and nice because we really had a amazing time and we will be back for sure .View was spectacular from the balcony and so romantic.We would highly recommend this hostel to anyone who want to have romantic vacation with beautiful view and great food . Also prices are affordable. Very Happy with this place and service they provide.Thank you again

The house and the terrace are quite beautiful, the sea is directly in front of the hostel. It seems to be one of the cheapest hostels in the surroundings. However, the beach consists of huge rocks, concrete and a promenade, there is no sandy beach. We booked three days and had to change the room after one night and as a result of that just did not have a room for four hours on the second day. Further, breakfast is provided but very simple. WiFi is only working directly next to the reception. The quality of the rooms differs significantly from one to the other. We would not have cared too much about this inconvenience if the staff had treated us nicely. But the staff is incredibly unfriendly, not welcoming and quite incapable of providing the most basic service. Moreover, it seems impossible to find affordable food in the area.

Good service

Offering a great price with an amazing view, Ostello Tergeste would be the top choice for backpackers on a budget. The facilities are clean and up to date. The only drawback is the location. I dont mind the 15 minute bus ride into the city; rather, you have to take a bus to go to the nearest market. On a positive note, the water is literally a few meters away.

Paid extra for one bunk in a four-bunk room - which ironically seemed to be the smallest room in the building. It was so small that if one person needed to get something the other three would have to get into their bunks and wait. Breakfast was served 45 minutes late and consisted of stale cereals and tepid juice. I asked an employee if there was any tap water and he took my cup, grumbled at me and set it in the dirty dishes.A bunkmates linens had what looked like menstrual stains all over it. No air-conditioning and the room stunk heavily of B.O. its nearly 3€ for a small towel, as none are provided.

I had a very good stay in here, the place is truly wonderful and proper and the price is very good. The breakfast is a little poor, it could be improved, but in general its a very good place.

Beat view ever! And only for 18-35€! The breakfast is small but you should not eat to much breakfast in Italy anyway....Triers has the best Pizza, so keep space in your tummy!

Amazing views, a little hard to get to but very much so worth it

This hostel had the best view of any hostel Ive stayed in. Try to get a room facing the sea to fully take advantage of all this hostel has to offer. My room was clean and everything worked correctly. The staff went out of their way to help me and all the other hostellers time and again. It is a little outside of the city centre (20 min by busbut thats not necessarily a bad thing. You wouldnt have such a great view of Trieste otherwise. 5/5 I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Installations were perfect. View is amazing, price is reasonable. Pay a hostel take a hotel. Great place

I have stayed in many HI Hostels around the world and know that I can count on them to be safe, clean, and friendly. Unfortunately I can not say that about Ostello Tergeste Hostel in Miramare Trieste. The hostel was dirty and is in need of repairs. Our sink faucet handle was broken, our room was dirty, quiet hours started at midnight, but was not enforced. At 1:30am I went to see if the noise in the surrounding rooms could be addressed, but was not. I feel that you need to know about this property. I will not stay here again and can not give a good review.

I would most certainly recommend this hostel on the Italian coast. It is a short travel from Trieste, the 6 and 4 bed dorms have impressive views of the coast. And if you have the possibility take the boat from central Trieste

The hostel is located on the seafront, with lovely views of Trieste and Castello di Miramare. The facilities are clean and of a good quality. There are terraces and balconies where one can simply relax and enjoy the scenery. The staff are friendly, very helpful and always pleasant. The atmosphere is very relaxing and laid back. I felt very comfortable during my stay. For the price, it is well worth it!
