Oshkosh Public Museum in Oshkosh

Very fun visit, very interesting hour and a half!

Lots of interesting history and fun artifacts and figures. The Tiffany stained class was particularly stunning. I couldnt get a better photo of it without risking dropping my phone

It had interesting and educational displays. We did expect more and variety of things.

Went for Deltox presentation. Was very interesting and informative.

Really lovely little museum with plenty of hands on activities.

A great place to see some local history and see the White Christmas display.

We were there for the White Christmas exhibit. It was wonderful to see some of the costumes designed by Edith Head as well as some of the props from the movie.

Interesting permanent exhibits. Temporary exhibits that never fail to amuse. Reasonably priced admission. Cute gift shop. Wheel chair accessable. No contact admission available. Beautiful building and decor. Apostles clock. Holiday season annual elf scavenger hunt.

I went to see the White Christmas exhibit and I loved it I recommend it to everyone to see it while its in town

We loved the special White Christmas exhibit. And the museum is in a gorgeous home with very friendly staff. We drove almost five hours to get there and it was worth it!

Nice Museum came for the White Christmas Exhibit . Very pretty set up, will be back another time to see The Apostle Clock in action. It wasnt active when we were there.

Titanic the Wisconsin connection was very interesting. The docents were friendly snd helpful.

Placed in an historic home in the heart of Oshkosh, this is a good stop for anyone ready to learn something new about something old. We saw the RMS Titanic traveling exhibit that featured some rare pieces. Limited on space they have made good use with a permanent interactive exhibit describing the geographic area.. can be engaging for kids 8 & up.

We took my 8 year old Titanic enthusiast to the exhibit and were not disappointed (we drove up from Chicago just for it!). It is small but well curated and put together and there were some very unique artifacts. The best part was the large amount of staff available to explain and answer his many questions! My kids (including 5 year oldalso really loved the Native American exhibit too. We appreciated that masks were enforced, especially because of the tight space. The kids kept their boarding passes and thought they were very special. Well done!

Very interesting ties to Wisconsin business and immigrants that settled in Wisconsin. Knowledgeable staff to answer any and all questions. Schedule a time. Takes an hour or so. Masks required.

More Expensive than we expected because of titanic exhibit that youre forced to see 🙄 in hindsight it was actually really cool and worth it. Not really enough to warrant more than a visit or two unless they get new stuff in but definitely worth the small trip!

Very friendly staff & very kind to my 8yr old son who enjoyed the Titanic exhibit & that the tour guides would take time to talk to him & listen to his knowledge & help him understand knowledge he didnt know. Very enjoyable experience!

I went to the Titanic exhibit with my 9 year old niece and we thought it was awesome! She loves all things Titanic and loved learning more from the exhibit and hosts. We loved receiving the boarding pass and updates of our passengers. Thanks for a great experience!

We specifically went to enjoy the Titanic exhibit. It was very well organized, educational, and interesting for all of the children in our party which ranged from Age 5 through age 14. They especially appreciated receiving the Titanic boarding pass that included information about a real Titanic passenger and then finding out at the end of the experience whether or not they had survived the tragedy. Would highly recommend visiting while the exhibit is still there.

This was an excellent museum! The original exhibit is amazing, its interactive and the way it is set up makes you feel like you stepped back in time! They also had the titantic exhibit and I loved it so much i will be going back again! I would recommend this museum if you are in oshkosh!

Smaller but well put together museum. We were able to get through most of the exhibits in about an hour. Beautiful building, very clean and well maintained.

I enjoyed this museum more than I thought I would. Went to see the traveling Star Wars exhibit but I really enjoyed the native American exhibit with the carved figures. I am going to go online to learn more about the Carver and the story behind the pieces.

Wouldve given a better review, but the desk lady was so rude and lacked empathy. She was really nasty and when I asked for a manager, growing more rude than previously. They took care of our situation, which we are very glad for. She was so angry though, when the superior helped us...it was clear she wanted us to not be taken care of. She wouldnt even apologize for her behavior when I brought it up. When I mentioned I would like to speak to the manager about her attitude, she threw their business card at me with her poorly written name. I asked for her name since I couldnt read it, and she ripped it out of my hands literally...and shoved it towards me again. I hope she can learn how to handle Customer situations and how to not take things so personally.We really enjoyed the Star Wars display as well as the historical stuff. Our kids loved the Apostles clock and so do we. We hope that next time we come, theyll have it repaired.

Very nice little museum. I was doing early Christmas shopping and noticed the gift shop was having a sale. The lady in the gift shop was wonderful

Love this hidden gem in the Oshkosh community. Gorgeous museum. Also been here for a few speakers the museum frequently brings in. Cant wait to get back there for the next exhibit.

I enjoy visiting the Oshkosh Public Museum several times a year. Their main exhibits are great ( I am loving the upgrades coming in as welland I love the special activities they put on for the special exhibits. Its fun for Both adults and children.

It was ok ,I believe for what you pay to get in I could have paid a few dollars more I could have went too the Milwaukee museum and did everything and alot longer , and with the main attraction closed being the lumbar and logging camp it was not worth it too me. It is a beautiful place and I would recommend to anyone to go and see it .

Im SO glad we went! I had some reservations taking a six year old,for numerous reasons but she absolutely fell in love with the whole house! It was,as expected, decorated for the holidays and each room was beautiful! This was my first time visiting here in over 40 years and the only thing that I recognized was the Apostle Clock and the gorgeous staircase. We went to the front desk first and the woman who answered our questions was so friendly and helpful...she explained the various things to do and see, especially geared towards children-awesome. She gave us a colorful paper with pictures of 20 different elves that are"hidden"throughout the museum and the kids check off each elf as they find them! That alone kept my little one interested as well as the VERY cool fact that the museum actually ENCOURAGES them to touch things! This was really unexpected,I planned on an afternoon of"dont touch"and"be careful"but yay! Just the opposite was happily true! This certainly was not the museum of MY childhood! I highly recommend bringing your young ones if theyre 5yrs or older or the interest may not hold for long. For my little one,2 hours was just enough time and she spied 17 elves!!!! Definitely will return!

This is an amazingly interesting museum which tells the story of the area, and the history which made Wisconsin and Oshkosh itself. Intriguing displaces often captivate your thoughts and the beautiful house in which the museum is housed captures the imagination. With activities for people, and kids, of all ages, this is a stop which I would highly recommend.

The Oshkosh Public library is a beautiful facility and the Apostles clock is timeless. Perhaps a little light on exhibits but a wonderful adventure to be part of.

My grandson and I really enjoyed ourselves. The exhibit"Cemetary Tales" was excellent. Nice afternoon . Well worth the admission. Would definitely go again.

Cool place to go to. It is cool to figure out a lot about Wisconsin and such. But if you are not a fan of reading then this is probably not the best place for you. Its got a lot of great exhibits and interactive stuff. My favorite was getting to sit on one of those old bycicles where one wheel is big and one is small.

This is a small museum but well maintained it gives you a look into the yesteryears of Oshkosh one of the main features is the apostle clock hand built over a hundred years old. It has a unique display that runs every hour with the apostles and Jesus Christ. Even though this museum is small its displays are done very well just like youd see in a large metropolitan museum. The museum sets right across the street from the pain mansion and gardens. Easy to visit both in one day

Great little museum. Small but packed with interesting items and information about the area, history, native Americans and some fun and interactive displays. I especially liked listening to the native American speaking names of towns and rivers. And the clock was wonderful although not all the doors opened and I was a bit disappointed.

This is a small public museum but its well taken care of and the apostle clock is a wonderful thing to see it is more than a hundred years old. Their workers work very hard to present everything with a lot of class and they do a great job. The Payne mansion is right across the street so you can do both of them in less than in less than 4 hours. I think its time well spent

Wonderful displays. Great Native American exhibit. Just was extremely disappointed that the holiday decorations were taken down before Epiphany. From the looks of the storage tubs being packed they looked very elaborate.

A beautiful museum in an old turn of the century home that is full of the history of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. There is a winter Gala every year after Thanksgiving is held to raise money put on by the lovely ladies of the auxillary. The decorations are very festive and they bring out the beautiful silver punch bowl that belongs to the museum.

Great for an easy educational outing with the kids...or adults. Really cool exhibits telling the story of Oshkosh history. Often has rotating exhibits that much larger museums might have.

Gorgeous 100+ yr old home filled with a varied collection of local history. The homes original woodwork, Tiffany tapestries, and tiffany glass is worth going to see, also have a great new native american exhibit with many hands on features. The 2nd floor has a temporary exhibit of native american art (closes 10-8-17plus permanent exhibits, with more hands on features, of a frontier home and Grandmas closet with lots of toys, dressup clothes, books to play with. All that PLUS dont miss the Apostle clock - it chimes at the top of every hour!

I went when the admittance was discounted for the season, otherwise it might have been a little pricy to bring the whole family. Nevertheless, Ive been visiting this museum since I was a little kid and I have always been intrigued by the new exhibits and impressed by how many things to learn are packed into this beautiful building.

This historic museum is a great place to visit if you want to learn more about the history of Oshkosh. It also houses one of the most unique artifacts you will ever see - The Apostles Clock!!
