Osh Animal Market - Shopping Centre in Osh City, Kyrgyzstan
Cheapest option for groceries and other stuff in Bishkek.
Fun happening place, spices, dried fruit and nuts, pickled cukes, beets, cabbages and other things. Across the road is clothing, electronics, souvenirs, luggage and almost anything else you can think of.
Flavours, colors, and lots of people
Nice local market. Parking is a bit crazy so our taxi guy dropped us a bit far and we had to walk a bit. Dont expect anything extraordinary or youll be disappointed. Its mainly for fresh fruits and dry fruits which are pretty great here because the weather is dry and cold, so the dry fruits are crispy when you buy them. Fruit was very cheap! I specially loved the local apples. We saw some clothes and shoes shops too but those are usually there in every part of the world. If youre with a kid, be warned there are many toy shops as well so most probably you wont go back without buying your little one a toy :)
Another Bazaar like in every other country, for the avid traveler it is nothing special. Here they sell miscellanous products, clothing and foods, cheap rubbish you will find the same on every street corner anyway, anyone from a western country wouldnt buy if we are to be honest. Maybe it is special for someone who has never traveled much and saw such a big market.
Market is fine. Tons of stalls, but redundant. They are all selling the same things. The reviews had me concerned about pickpocketing, which didn’t turn out to be an issue. Vendors are honest and will let you try things. There is a bathroom and it is paid.
Context: British Citizen, early thirties.Very crowded as you would expect. It was an interesting cultural experience and shows the life of the Kyrgyz people.Lots of cheap items, also lots of fake items being sold cheap. You can barter with them over the prices you pay.Seeing all the spices and fruits available was great though.
Very nice pub and the staff are great I enjoyed it a lot I will visit her again after I return from Jalalabad ... The place is beautiful and I would recommend it to everyone
Unique bazar with everything ranging from Pakistani and indian dry food items such as rice and wheat to non food items can be easily found in this bazar.Very useful for buying foodmess from this bazar for students studying in Kyrgyzstan.
An interesting place and full of activity. But one needs to know how to bargain. Things and souvenirs are cheapest here. Avoid buying from shopping malls, manas airport, tourists attractions and buy at bishkek osh bazaar if you want good prices
Fun place to visit, super crowded, takes time to find the things you need, but an amazing experience to just wonder around and sample local food.
A local whole sale bazaar. You can find absolutely all sort beauty products, spices, food products and other household stuff. Although, rowdy and crowded, people go about their daily errands.
Pretty chaotic place with plenty of goods of all types and affordable prices relative to regular stores.Worth visiting though if you want to see the eastern bazar.
Come to experience this bazaar that dates back to thousands of years ago, lots of foods here.
Busiest market in Brisket. Have very good local nuts offering.
Caotic but you can find all sort of stuff, from food, traditional clothes, souvenirs, trinkets...Vorth wisiting while in Bishkek.
It is mostly a spice bazar in BishkekAll types of spices and dry fruits you can purchase at reasonable rates. Here most of the things are local produce
Very large and impressive to walk through. Lots of choice and good prices, not everyone speaks English but what do you expect. Be wary of pickpockets
Not much you can find as a tourist, mostly goods for locals from cheep clothes, fruits, vegs, nuts and meat. Also there are some buildings for electronics stores, home decorations and jewellery shops.
Great bazaar for all you could ever require!
Must buy local honey.Specially white honey 🍯You can find Nice local herb as well
Clean, BIG, cheap, tons of Chinese selection and the freshest of fruits. You can feel the buzz, while strolling around the labyrinth. Def one M U S T place to visit. Maybe everyday.
You can find anything you need for a good price! Definitely worth a walk.Plenty of clothes, food and wherever you need!
Very nice bazaar..i guess you can find here many things.
I love walking around these kind of market because you can see how the local life is. The market is good and there are plenty of things to buy and to see. The only reason why I gave 3 starts not 5 because the market was a little bit dirty. But at least it is a good place to visit.
Busy city market. Junk and also better things. Fun to look around. A few stalls had nice clothing and felted silk scarves (nuno felting.)
To see some local markets and local people, this is the right place to come at the heart of Bishkek.
The place is rich in all types of food you would need to buy in Bishkek. They have a place as well for selling stolen phones. Some people were very nice but some were very aggressive when we tried to take photos.
Full of china made goods, fake brands, good and cheap foods
Osh Bazar is one of the oldest and most famous bazars in Kyrgyzstan located in Osh city. Mostly a person coming here can buy food products, almost any common household good, clothes and many others.
Every single article you can find here. Food, groceries, tools, carpets, furniture, spare parts, car or phone accessories, ...
Nice palace for shopping, reasonable prices n you can bargain too. But be aware of pic pocketors
Best place to get anything from wearing things to eating stuffs to electric equipments...👌🏻🤘🏻Very nice cloths although you can get everything there.
I love markets like this, so loved to walk around here and treat the senses to all sorts of smells and sights! If you want to get an idea of everyday life in Bishkek, the market is the place to go. You can do bargaining in all stuffs. Its busy, of course, but you can buy virtually anything you need for your trip in the country and its all very affordable. Also excellent for shoppping souvenirs to bring home. I bought some really good honey and spices. Dont forget to do a bit of haggling; it makes it all a bit more fun.
Its a big bazar. From spices to fabrics, everything you can find it.
I am not sure as to recommend this place to tourists despite the official Bishkek guides. Yes, it is indeed hustling and bustling and coming from a western country you might consider it exotic, but I wouldn’t name it as a main tourist attraction of Bishkek - better get your souvenirs at a bigger supermarket. The atmosphere is kind of unpleasant - from meat sellers with sheep heads full of maggots to suspicious drunk men staring at you, it is just a big contrast to the rest of the city.
Go there to buy local traditional dress and yes buy original handmade shoe
Osh Bazaar is quite an experience!Having visited the Osh Bazaar in Osh before, I was able to compare them very well. The Osh Bazaar in Bishkek is quite messy, and lots of stands are selling exactly the same products. We were in search of tourists souvenirs and could not find any unfortunately. That is unfortunate as lots of tourists come here.
If they don’t have, you don’t want it! A great place in Bishkek to shop everything you need for your trip trough Kyrgyzstan. Also the perfect place to ‘taste’ the local customs, foods and products. Try the dried fruit and the incredible fresh bread! And smell how the meat market doesn’t smell (which is a very strange experience since it can be very hot in summertime!).
You can get most anything here for really good prices. An abundance of spices, rice, fruits, nut, and veggies.
Great local market that sells everything. Enjoy walking around with the locals in the labyrinth of paths. Try the different products and enjoy the fresh produce.
You can spend a whole day getting lost here. Tons of little tea shops to sit and rest and drink milk tea scattered throughout the bazaar. People are super wonderful and nice. Even if you don’t speak Kyrgyz or Russian, you can still get by. I felt very safe.
Huge market, spices, fruit, veggies, meat, home goods, clothes and just about everything else. Very busy place.
A market for the locals with mostly food and daily amenities. Not for tourists to shop or buy souvenirs.·Ok to wonder around for a bit if you are in the area but no need to travel here specifically.
If you want to see the national flavor and try the asian cuisine, be sure to visit the Osh Bazaar. Here you can experience the Asian atmosphere. You can not only see but also try everything eatable. Dried fruits, sweets, tortillas, meat, fresh vegetables and fruits, kuruty and much more. Before visiting the bazaar, I advise you to wear comfortable shoes, as the territory is very big, so you have to walk a lot. You are welcome to bargain, but just with a smile.Do not exchange money at a local currency exchange. Better to change in banks. Only cash is accepted here. Be careful for your stuff at bazaar, there are a lot of thieves and pickpockets
Must go in the capital! Really affordable prices of food without the need to bargain. As for clothing: well, you wont find here to many original items but if you search a bit you can find really nice fakes for funnily low prices. If you ask politely they have no problems with you taking photos of the merchandise.Reserve at least 2-3 hours for a visit. Open every day, just on Mondays most of the stalls are closed.
Must visit bazaar if you’re in Bishkek, so much colors, spices, vegetables, fruits, clothing, National costumes and souvenirs etc. All assortment for reasonable prices. Central Asian character is here.
I guess Osh bazar is a must-see place. Its the local market. Its a bit dirty, you may get robbed so be careful with your bag walking there. They have the biggest selection of local sweets, nuts, souvenirs etc. Thus its the best place to buy souvenirs and local sweets as they have cheapest prices
This Bazaar has everything you need from alochol, cigarettes to soap , spices, pots, underwear, food, and bicycles! If you need to pick up some souvenirs or snacks I.e apricot / walnut before your long Marshrutka ride/ hike or before you leave the country
Really interesting place! A giant market for clothes, electronics, street food, bakery, various nuts and dried fruits (which are unbelievably cheerio by the way here). You can also find kumis but you need to search for it a little. Worth a try!
