Osaki Sushi and Steakhouse in Dodge City

Fresh, delicious, authentic, top-notch Sushi!!! We try sushi everywhere we travel to, and this one was the most pleasant surprise of them all. The building was simple, muted brick, but once inside...what a gem! Price was spot on, service was kind, and I loved that it was family run (especially the young man hosting the front). We will return every time we passed by.

Very friendly service and the sushi was wonderful! Best restaurant in Dodge City for sushi. We ordered take out and had a pretty large order. It was a week night, but was still surprised how fast they had our order ready.

I lived in Japan for two years, and in San Diego for 15 years. I know my sushi.I saw a review that mentioned a child as a waiter. Hes working and hes doing a good job. We were served in a timely manner on all fronts. Why does it matter how old he is? No complaints here.I saw a review that criticized the size of the sushi rolls...the price matches the size of the roll. $6 salmon/avocado roll means a smaller roll. Additionally, I had two pieces of yellowtail sashimi and two pieces of white tuna for a total of $10, which is an amazing price. The sashimi was like butter melting in my mouth. Hubbys hibachi was very good.Dont let the outside of this place fool you. We were quite satisfied.

Food was okay. My husband and one of my daughters received their hibachi orders. 30 minutes later and my other daughter and I had not received our sushi. The rest of the table was done eating and no sushi and no drink refills. I went up front and asked for to go boxes for those finished eating and the sushi. They forgot about the sushi order. We’re dropping over $100 at this place. They did give us a 10% discount for the trouble.

Big surprise in the middle of Kansas! Food was good and the service was even better!! Very friendly. My kids also liked it.

Small servings, not fresh, a literal child will be your waiter.. i wish i was joking when i say ive had better gas station sushi... especially when Im still hungry after spending $50...

Always amazing! I have absolutely no complaints. There are a few things we always order- seaweed salad, super crunchy roll, and smoked salmon sushi.

Im seriously shocked how bad this place was from the way I was treated over the phone placing an order, to the way I was treated when I asked for a refund because the food was really gross. Every bad review of this place is truth. I can only imagine the good reviews are manufactured or are coming from people who simply dont know what good sushi should taste like.Here are some details:The rolls were TINY and it appears I was charged more money for what I ordered, than what the cost was on the menu. The sashimi tasted foul and it was served on a pile of HOT rice. I put one bite in my mouth and promptly spit it out. It tasted like rancid cod liver oil and that is NOT what good fresh raw fish should taste like.I asked for a refund which they gave me, but they offered zero apology. The lady at the cashier threw the food in her trash can very dramatically and gave me a really dirty look. I was taken aback by how childish and unprofessional she was. The chef was equally as rude and they chatted back and forth with each other in their native tongue. I can only imagine what they were saying.As if thats not bad enough, they had all of the diners in that place packed together without regard for a raging pandemic, even though they had AMPLE space to sit each table of diners more than six feet apart. Crazy people!When I called the order in, I asked the man taking my order if they could run it out to my car because I didnt want to be around other people too much. He said no. I said okay, then when should I come pick up my order and time it so I dont have to expose myself any longer than necessary to others, that I just want to get it and go. He said 20 minutes. I arrived 25 minutes later and guess what? My order hadnt even been started yet! It should have been waiting for me, not the other way around.I wish I turned around and left immediately. Actually I wish I listened to the red flags going up when I was on the phone with them. Just shoddy all the way around! These people have no business running a restaurant. I could have bought way better quality and way more sushi for the amount of money they charged me, if I had just gone to the grocery store.

Literally just had my pick up order refunded, the fish was old and tasted horrendous. They were very rude when I asked for my money back and tried to argue the fish was fresh. This was my first time here and I will never come back. Im from Austin, TX and I know good sushi when I eat it. You could get better sushi from a grocery store.

This sushi was actually pretty good! I wasnt too sure about trying it but ended up having a great experience. I will definitely be back

Wouldnt think you could find a place like this in Dodge City being its an old cowboy town however they do a great job and the food is awesome. Will be back again.

Great sushi and hibachi meals. Sushi rolls are small and inexpensive. More old school than the huge designer rolls you see a lot now. The hibachi meals are excellent. Service is fast and friendly. Dont let the looks of the restaurant from outside fool you. Its a really good place.

This place is absolutely fantastic! The lunch bento boxes are one of the best buys in town, and dinners there around the grill is fun and delicious. I highly recommend it!!!

A little off the beaten path, but absolutely worth it! Delicious and fresh made to order, this place fills up fast! The staff is friendly and helpful, so come by and get you some!

Hands down one of the best hibachi restaurants Ive ever eaten at and I mean that. The sashimi and sushi are delicious and the sake is good enough to get you feeling happy 🤣 also the "yum yum" sauce is better than any store brand made yum yum sauce Ive ever had. 13/10 would recommend. Hands down best food Ive had this entire trip. Also the filet mignon hibachi was holy moly guacamole amazing 🤘🤘🤘

Definitely way worse than what you would except sushi on dodge City to be. And that’s saying something having extreme low expectations. Food was terrible and was told the three rolls I order we part of the combo and was charged separately for all three rolls. Pictured is the 7 dollar calamari appetizer. Place is a joke

The language barrier is kinda tough to order the specifics, BUT I have zero complaints. Ive been eating here every day for the past week or so. Im working my way through the entire menu. Have not been disappointed. Their teriyaki shrimp bento dinner is amazing. Their philadelphia and Boston rolls are to die for and the ginger sauce they use as a sales dressing is, by far, my favorite sauce. 3 outta 5 stars, wouldnt change a thing(Timesuck Reference)

I sat and waited for ten minutes without a server in sight. Water? Soda? Anything to drink? Good luck. As far as your order goes I didnt get that far. If you like sitting at a table with no service, stop on by!

It was ok. The service was great. Just wasnt expecting the black pepper seasoning in my shrimp teriyaki. (Was expecting sweet and it was spicy), Didnt ask for the pepper. Couldnt eat it. So sucks for what we spent that we couldnt eat it.

Arrived at 7:30pm, seated, drinks and appetizer of fried calamari. Had dinner for 4. The Bento Dinner Shrimp Tempura wife said was excellent and she really loved the fried rice as well as all the other items that came with the dish. I had Lobster and Filet Mignon portions for the price were matching. Our son and his girlfriend both had the #44, the Fantastic Roll and that’s their usual favorite and never disappoints their taste buds. Service was excellent and it was a Wednesday night for those asking or wondering. When we are back in Kansas this is the place to come back too!!

Very good service, and they were very busy. I like spicy food and that was something they didnt have, but it was good food. Appreciated our waitress there are 8 at ours table.

Food is good, smaller portions then I expected. Service was good. They need to either change the mop head or the rag they are using. I dont know if it was the table, the bench seat or the floor but something smelled terrible.

Too little. Meal portions were very small for the price. I have a Japanese restaurant nearby my house in Texas and it was twice the food. Very little rice and vegetables. I can be okay with small portion of meats but get real. I will never but at the place again.

Honestly probably the BEST Chinese food I’ve ever had. Any kind of fried rice is to die for! And they’re sushi is MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! The people who work there are the sweetest, and try to make it your best experience every time you’re there! Would give 6 stars if I could!!

I used to eat here a lot. It was always decent. Then about 6 months ago something changed. Price went up. Portions went down. And the food doesnt taste as good. Went back today to see if they fixed it. They havent. Maybe Ill try again in another 6 months. Not reccomendable right now. The hostess was sweet, though.

There for an hour, never got my husbands food, when we went to pay they still made us pay for it. He finally got it to go but that should have never happened. People that got there after us got severed way before he did. Was one of our favorite restaurants but we arent going back.

Driving by you might not think this is going to be good place to eat in such small town but I am glad I decided to try it. Their sushi is amazing, staff is super polite, overall just great experience. This restaurant is well worth a visit.

Food was delicious. The service was very friendly, attentive and very fast. Like surprisingly fast! The prices are very fair, but the portion sizes were a little bit small. Maybe I was just really hungry...either way, Id recommend trying it out

Japanese food is always one of my favorites but in my last experience it was totally a disappointment. The rice did not taste good as on other occasions and practically everything (rice, vegetables and meatwere cold at the time they served it. The service by the employees was excellent. Maybe next time I have better luck

Always a great meal, even when I order online through Door Dash! It’s always hot and fresh and I always have silverware and soy sauce. Their fried rice is SOO delicious and is reasonably priced! I hope this place stays in Dodge!

I had the super crunchy roll (backand the super volcano roll and both were delicious. The volcano roll was amazing and a must try.

The other more than One-Star reviewers must be paid reviews or they are just as low-standard delusional as the people who run this restaurant. Ordered steak and veggies. Steak came out gray and cold in the center covered in some nasty sauce. The edamame was also very cold. Take a look at the included picture to see what their idea of "veggies" is. They must be having a carrot shortage in Kansas and a surplus of zucchini. My buddys fried rice might be in the top 5 nastiest things Ive ever tasted. Avoid this place. You have been warned.

This is my favorite restaurant in Dodge City. I highly recommend about everything on the menu. The sushi is absolutely phenomenal especially considering we are in the middle of Kansas. They have the best spicy Tuna rolls here. Definitely check them out!

Sushi is pretty good, and Im a big lover of sushi. Atmosphere is nice, and it was pretty quiet at lunch time so it was a nice meal to enjoy. Wait staff was very nice, and we enjoyed our visit! Well be back!

Used to frequently go to Osaki then slowly stopped going as often. Got a craving for some sushi and Japanese food and decided "What the hell, I got a few extra dollars" and went again. Once we got all our food, the waitress just kind of forgot about our table. Then when trying the sushi it tasted like it was a badly freezer-burnt piece of fish (Not exaggerating, I almost spit it back out, but momma didnt raise no quitterdrenched in hot sauce to try to cover the taste (completely unlike how it used to taste which was incredible). And then my meat entree was extremely salty (I dont want the high blood pressure, yaknow?). Didnt even bother getting a to go box for myself, I dont think sitting in the fridge would make it taste any less bad than fresh (This is fish were talking about, not pizza).As we were leaving I brought this up to the person at the register who said it was cooked wrong. Gee, Im glad I got to pay full price for your mistake. $20 down the drain. If they knew it wasnt cooked right I would have gladly taken something else. Used to love going there, but the service and food was not up to par at all with the price this time.

Food is always amazing and quickly prepared and staff is friendly! Have never had a bad time here, either ordering to go or dining in! I recommend the chicken or shrimp tempura bento lunch/dinners, fried calamari, dragonfly sushi rolls, and crunchy rolls!!

Great food, good price. Had the imperial combo, steak was cooked perfect. Veggies were cooked just right. The fried rice had a wonderful smokey flavor and loved it. Didnt get to try the sushi, maybe next time. Good luck with your new business. Never lose sight of producing quality food and youll be a success.
