Osaka Sushi in Timmins

Loved it till i got a order that said was suppose to come in a hour. Called after a hour and a half. The lady on the phone said she would see were they were at and call me back. Had to call back 20 mins after. She was annoyed and i was about to cancle order when it showed up. 2hr and 30 mins after placing order and 1hr and 30 mins after she said it would show. The driver was rude and said i was the last on his list. I called to order again and found out i was blacklisted from delivery after they claimed thier deliver system was broken twice. Good food but this has to be the worst experince. No manager on duty to talk to about this.Its a shame, i love the food from here as its one of the best in town. Always had a decent experince going in except for some items never showing up after order. Wish the manager had gotten ahold of me to sort this issue out. Lest it wasnt the guy who turned my meal into salad in the backseat of his car that time.

Great food and fast service

I rarely leave a poor review, but I feel that I have to due to my exceptionally poor experience at this restaurant.I purchased a $35 take-out order and added a 15% tip. I asked if I could have a glass or cup of water prior to leaving the restaurant. I was told that they only had bottle water.The restaurant has water that isn’t bottled, so their response was dishonest. In addition, I gave a generous tip given the order was takeout and they couldn’t even offer water.I’m disappointed with this poor service and lack of integrity.

Fast service, impressive food

Absolutely love this place, come here for special occasions, or whenever Im in town. Thai mushroom soup and everything on the sushi, sushimi, rolls, exc. Is my favorite. Especially the baby mushroom rolls.

Been in Timmins for years and had never gone. A bit expensive but excellent food

Went here for lunch, sushi was mediocre at best. Dynamite roll tasted just like mayo and nothing else. Sesame chicken had a very off taste and was heavily battered. I wont be returning as it cost my family of 3 $80 to eat and we left still hungry due to low quality eats.

Great food and quick service. The only complaint I would have is that sashimi slices are sliced too thick… sashimi means thinly sliced fish but what is served is sliced chunks of fish. If this was improved, I would give 5/5.

Not amazing but good quality sushi. Lunch has more limited options. We go cause its the best one in the area.

Rediculous that we couldnt eat inside the restaurant if we ordered from the menu. I got my order to go, went to the store for drinks and came back to wait in the entrance, after a while I approached the counter and turns out our food was ready this whole time. All the staff were just standing around chatting, no one came to see us.

Worse customer service I have ever seen. Anytime I asked what anything was that they brought out, they just ignored me, put the plate down and left.

Decent sushi, good selection, fast service. We would eat there again

They said I was going to be charged extra for not finishing two chicken strips.Sushi came, fish tasted terrible.Would not recommend, respectfully. They charged me a extra $9 for not finishing my food I didn’t enjoy.

The least thing to do when a customer gives a negative rating is to try to understand why and not deny everything. I say it and I repeat it, we did not receive any explanation about the waste policy. Besides, Im not for wasting food and its not the extra $2 that I missed neither. What I am trying to make you understand is respect for customers. Cordially.

I have never done this. Went in around 4:30 pm for dinner. Was greeted and service was good for about the first 30 mins after it got busy due to it being a Friday night. We got our appetizers and drinks within the thirty minute. AND now it goes DOWNHILL FAST. We waited an hour between the appetizers and to get our sushi rolls. In this hour we saw everyone else get theirs. We originally thought it was taking long because of how busy it was….. NOPE. They gave our 4 rolls away. Still waiting we finally got someone and we asked what was taking so long and she went to the kitchen and checked she said there was no order placed. During this hour in between NO One checked on us to for anything even to offer us more tea. When they did come back they asked if we were done. We didn’t even get our rolls left. When we got our rolls we only got 3/4 rolls. We waved them done and asked for the check because we had to leave. She brought the card machine and we wanted to pay debt but……. THEY said NO DEBT and there was no sign anywhere that said that thankfully one of us had credit to pay. And when she brought the receipt she thunked it on the table and left. We were there from 4:30 to 6:20 Awful service ih and they gave away our 4th roll as well to another table. Food was good but AWFUL service.

I love eating here, the only complaint I have is when It gets to dinner rush sometimes orders get forgotten. Considering its the only decent sushi place in town I understand why theyre swamped most of the time.

Ate sushi at Vancouver. Same price and the sashimi was very nice. Didnt like the sashimi at Osaka. Sushi were OK!

I never do this, but I want to openly say that this restaurant lacks humane ethics.My husband and his friend often drive to Timmins for business, and last year they went there to eat after a long drive. The waiter gave my husband the wrong order and when he asked nicely to change it for the one he wanted they rudely denied him to correct the food and told him to eat that. After trying to explain to the manager nothing got solved and they left the place without eating the food. The restaurant called the cops and followed my husband to the hotel and they didnt care about confirming twice the story. They had to pay the food and they didnt even got it to go. Honeslty this is the worst Ive ever heard about a restaurant doing to a customer. Never gonna come here.

Really good. A little pricey, but you do get what you pay for. We are visiting from London ON, and we found this place on maps. Thought we would try them out. 10/10 recommend. It is not Toronto grade sushi.... We arent in Toronto lol... BUT it comes close to it!

All you can eat sushi, So not the best quality. The ambiance and seating is very old and gloomy.. it’s dark and old decor. The service isn’t great, they don’t know basic things on the menu or are quick to assist or checkup on you.The all you can eat is done with a tablet which is helps them out and convenient with photos.Parking in the back. Wouldn’t say it’s very clean.Decently priced, acceptable quality.

Went in today to be greeted by one angry restaurant owner. I found a hair in my food so I let the owner know and instead of apologizing she immediately said it was my hair without even asking her staff. I will never be going back again down right disgusting.

Was a bit surprised that they take credit and cash but not debit?? You gotta use their atm to get cash... Thats a bit meh...Im from bc and have had some good sushi , this place has a lot of filler in their rolls i.e. not so much of actual fish etc. The sashimi was good though!The other issue I found since I was with others that when the food came we had no idea what it was as the waiteress never said what it was.. so we guessed whos roll was whos... And we werent sure what if anything was left to come as it all came out at sporadic times... At one time we were saying to each other is there more coming? Another issue, was with two kids who got charged $32 for all you can eat, they only had two bowls of soup.... That was annoying..

I regret to have to leave a bad review because I go to this restaurant all the time and it is my favourite in town, however I received the worst and most condescending service today. If it wasn’t for the fact I still have hope for this restaurant it would be only a 1 star review.As soon as we were sat we received a cold welcome. We ordered from the menu, and my friend received the wrong menu item and the supposed manager told us that we were mistaken and she refused to bring us what we had ordered. We were firm about receiving what we had requested, her excuse was that she didn’t know her own menu and that was somehow our problem. Again we were firm about receiving what we requested. At no point did she offer any resolve to our grievance, instead she got annoyed with us and began to raise her voice. At this point we were very insulted and decided to leave.Be warned that eating at a restaurant, you wave any right you have to receive a respectful service and if you’re insulted and leave you are bound by law to pay someone to talk down at you.Yes you guessed it. They called the cops. We were accused of eating half our food and leaving, which we didn’t eat half, and the police came to force us to pay for our food, which we didn’t steal or covertly dine and dashed. We left out of disbelief of the repugnant service we were receiving. In front of the bad server/manager. We didn’t deny leaving, we paid for the food. We were unaware of the binding contract of if you ordered it and it’s bad you still have to pay for it regardless if the food is trash or the service is trash. I can understand the need to involve police if we straight up dine and dashed but in all honesty the level of service we received made me sick. IT WAS DISGUSTING! We lost our appetite. The server at no point held herself accountable for her role in this escalation. We simply refused to be treated that way.To top off the insult, the table next to us told the police we gave the server a hard time and ran out the door. RAN.We are hard working people that drove 32 hours that day and the one thing we were looking forward to was eating at this restaurant and now my positive experiences of eating here are forever tainted by one waitress who probably was just having a bad day and took it out on us.I will never eat at this restaurant EVER again. I’ve never felt so insulted in my life by this experience!

Osaka suuuuuushiiiiiii. Best food in town. Sure, some of you boomers might prefer the Fishbowls microwaved crab cakes. But those of us with a more refined palette - ones who are more adventurous than a 50 year old Whiteman who only drinks Busch, live and die for Osaka. Its all you can eat, but its not a buffet. You serve you with iPads like youre a 7 year old and your waiter is a parent that secretly resents you. Except they dont - the service is exceptional. Sometimes you even get more rolls than you were expecting - much like spending a weekend at grandmas during the holidays. If youre in Timmins and like Japanese cuisine, go here. If you enjoy food at all, go here. If I could give this place all the stars in the milky way galaxy I would.

The specialty rolls and sashimi are my favourite. Order your food and get it delivered as opposed to eating in, I find the food taste way better delivered and each roll is unique with different ingredients, they also give extras for free, complimentary, like miso soups and desserts, sometimes a free roll. That’s good business, everybody loves something free once in awhile especially something free that’s tasty and enjoyable. This is my go to sushi spot in Timmins now. Will be ordering again soon!

I ordered on Mother’s Day and they were extremely busy and it was a little chaotic. That’s fine, and I completely understand how things can go wrong and orders can become messed up. When I noticed my order was wrong and missing things I called the restaurant and they were apologetic. Cool, mistakes happen no big deal as long as they are corrected, which I thought they had. They dropped of the missing items and corrected the order. The reason for the 1 star is when I opened the bag of two orders of tuna well the quality was disgusting. How they would even serve that to someone, especially after they messed up an order is beyond me. The quality of the tuna, well less just say I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. Out of the 4 pieces, 1 was presentable the rest looked like it had been sitting out for a week and had gone bad. Needless to say I couldn’t even eat it. I am more disappointed that a restaurant would allow for that type of quality to leave their establishment. If I took it to a health inspector they would be shut down 100%. I will say I didn’t try the rest of the food because it had completely turned my stomach. It was extremely disappointing as I was really looking forward to this meal. Instead it was just a waste of money.

Great atmosphere and delicious sushi.

Osaka is some pretty decent sushi for Timmins. Nice clean place with good and very friendly service. From Sunday to Wednesday the all you can eat is $3 cheaper..

All you can eat sushi restaurant in Timmins, well established. On par with the average all you can eat sushi in Southern Ontario in terms of sushi quality if you want a regional comparison. Only sushi stop between North Bay and Thunder Bay on the Ontario side to my knowledge.Clean and friendly and has take out and platter options. Can be very busy.Free parking

The food wasn’t cooked enough. I really didn’t enjoy it, I’m not picky at all and I never leave a review but I went out of my way because it was a bad experience, was asked 3 times if we wanted the cheque; yet the menu has the option to order the bill. Felt as if we were being rushed out and my girlfriend and I were only there for 47 minutes before the first asking. We’re served raw chicken as well, said thank you every single time they took a dish or delivered food and not once did they say you’re welcome or no problem. The servers didn’t say a word other than ask us if were ready to leave. The raw chicken was left to be picked up on the edge of the table, and it was there for over 30 minutes and was still present after we left the restaurant. Sushi was 10/10. everything else was a 2/10 SO oily and greasy

My absolute favorite sushi place, I hope that hey get iPads for ordering soon as a lot of menu items have no photos or descriptions even in the regular menu (not the all you can eat optionso you sometimes have no idea what to expect. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Highly recommend the all you can eat menu!

Ive continued to visit Osaka Sushi every couple of weeks with my girlfriend and they continue to serve delicious food. The staff are friendly and the service is timely. The space is simply decorated and scent free aside from what they serve. Theyve recently updated their ordering system from paper to electronic which is also convenient and environmentally friendly.I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant, 5/5

This one was quite a surprise. I was recommend to go it it by a local. Some of the freshest sushi I have had. The dishes were very tasty and service was fast and friendly. Washrooms were clean and the restaurant itself was spacious. We were seated right away and had drinks within a few minutes of entering. While the price may seem high, the quality of the dishes, the service, and atmosphere make this a worthwhile trip. Make sure to save room for dessert. The portions are smaller, which is good as you can try more items. Highly recommended.

Went for brunch on a Saturday during all you can eat hours. Interesting and different, my first visit. There were times when people were waiting to be seated and I wondered why only half of the restaurant was open. Staffing was adequate for the customer load. The food was very fresh, made after the order was place. Wait staff were very polite and professional so service was good as well.

Go here for weekdays if you’re looking to fill yourself for 17 bucks then a tip. And heck, I wouldn’t be so against their weekend price of 30 bucks if they didn’t serve ridiculously poor quality food. I know that as a business you have probably gotten wrecked by customers over indulging in the buffet, eating way over their ticket price. Fair enough. I think that’s the tune of most buffets in canada. But that doesn’t justify serving me a tuna roll with 90% panko crumb filler and a sliver of fish comparable to a dime both in height and width. I really wish I had a picture to show this disgraceful little piece of what i essentially understood as accounting for your losses. Change your model if you’re losing money on Buffet days because of gluttons and pigs alike. Don’t sacrifice the supposed art of your cuisine because you’re setting a menu style that encourages lack of return on your food percentages. I won’t eat here again.

I had made a reservation a week ago for 13 of us ,we had to wait then we were seated and had to wait another 15 min because there wasent enough room and tables set up. We ordered from the buffet items and didnt get half of the stuff we ordered and even asked the waitress if there was any more food coming out and she said yes and never came not well organized at all they need a better set up then that ,So after being there for more than 2 and a half hour later we all got up because everybody was tired of waiting so we went to pay and told the manager of our bad experience and she never discounted our bills or apologized so I definitely would not go back again and would not recommend anybody going there! We all left very disappointed and hungry!

Went for all you can eat - I ate all I could eat! The selection for lunch was smaller then it would be for diner, but the selection was still good. I really liked their Dragon 🍣 rolls. The price was very responsible because I tend to eat alot. The bathroom was my only concern - very small and difficult to get into. Overall this is a great place to eat. A+ would come again!

About a year ago, I gave this place a very poor review after some of the worst sushi Ive ever had along with some of the worst service. We went here reluctantly with a family member who lives here and claimed the food and service has improved dramatically. She was correct. Weve been twice in the last couple weeks and everything was fantastic.

Still one of my favourite places to go great food great customer service. They are very quick at serving food and always gives you the correct amount of food ordered. Never had anything go wrong at this place

Quality of the sushi is exceptional! Excellent take out service everytime! Sit down service is extremely slow and waitress never acknowledged walking by is several times when we wanted to order more drink with our meal. Felt like we were not welcome. Best to order take out here vs eat in.

The building the restaurant is in looks like a dump but the restaurant inside is actually very nice. The service was amazing and great with my young kids (1 and 3they had a blast and felt very comfortable. Food was fresh tasting and quickly served.

Second time Ive been here and both were pretty good! Dont judge a book by its cover as the building itself doesnt look great. Inside is nice and bright. The staff are extremely friendly as you can tell by all the reviews. Food tastes great and service is pretty fast as well.Check it out if youre looking for some all you can eat sushi!

Considering I work next door this is always my first choice for lunch on my break. The staff are lovely and always polite to me and the food is enjoyable. However the other patrons of the restaurant arent always the best and have very little respect for the staff and for others as well. Otherwise 5 stars
