Compact kitchen providing familiar sushi options & hibachi mains, plus happy hour specials.
They have an extensive sushi rolls selection. It was so fresh and delicious! My husband had the pork belly ramen and we were both very satisfied and happy with our meals! The waitress was fast, efficient and friendly!
Great environment and nice staff. Ended up getting food positioning though. Got over it in a day.
The sushi is good but the best part about coming here and keeps my family coming back is Becky.
Delicious sushi. We ordered six different types of rolls and the pork gyoza. Great service ... Bathrooms werent very clean but otherwise we really enjoyed our experience.
Follow me to the end here. Were in town for a wedding; got in this evening and feeling a bit tired from the road. Wandering streets, we come to this sushi bar. Alright, seems affordable so my expectations arent high. We chat up the waiter, a phenomenal young man with dreams and goals you wouldnt believe if I wrote them here. Cool. We order some sushi rolls.I only wish to talk about the Eamon Roll. Im not sure how long it took chef to concoct these flavors, nor if it was some sake-fueled night terror that drove this utterly remarkable combination into our physical reality. The heat of the roll truly acts as an elevator, taking the flavor to your olfactory senses. You will taste this roll in ways you didnt think possible. The peppered ahi tuna combined with the other flavors of the roll must be tried to be believed.A truly outstanding accomplish. Tremendous job, chef. For a path forward, you will need to learn to listen and talk to your staff.Eat here. Get the sushi. Be alive. You will live in joy.
Excellent food and service. We cant wait to return.
Didnt get to try the food. Tried to get into the restaurant along with another couple on their bikes, but for whatever reason the door was locked. Hours say they are open and there are people inside but no one can get inside. Weird
What a great night out with just as great food. The green onions were fresh and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The wait staff was very courteous.
Good customer service and the food was so delicious.
Been going here for years now. Jack is the best! He takes care of us extremely well. The wait staff is solid as well.
Great food, great environment and lovely staff!
Consistent sushi every time we have visited Stillwater. Staff are very friendly and sushi is really good!
Just moved to Stillwater from Minneapolis and was worried about sushi options for those cravings. I ordered pork gyoza, winter roll, and spicy crab roll. I already knew the sushi was quality from how the takeout was thoughtfully and carefully packaged. The rolls were beautiful and the absolute freshest and most delicious sushi I have had since living in Hawaii. In my opinion, sushi restaurants have been on the decline in quality all over Mpls and St. Paul for years ..so much so that I stopped craving it. I am so happy this place is here. Amazing quality and affordable. Looking forward to dining in and letting the chef know how happy and appreciative I am to such attention to detail and quality!
Its our first time dining in the restaurant. We loved it! Environment was good, sushi were delicious and service was great! 5 stars for sure!
This place was very tasty! We shared a few meals and some sushi and highly recommend it!Only thing it lacked was a kids menu for those that didnt like this type of food.
Listen up. If you are in Stillwater and want delightful service, top notch sushi from an amazing sushi chef, wonderful atmosphere, and cocktails that will get the party started, look no further than Osaka in Stillwater on main street. My recommendation is to try the "pink lady" roll with spicy chilli oil and spicy mayo. 🤗🤗🤗 Tell them TJ sent you.
Took my 9 year old for her first sushi experience. She loved it and the chef was great!
Excellent food! Had the avocado rolls and pad Thai which both were fantastic.
Always excellent food and service. Ive had just about every one of the rolls and each one has been great.
We hoped to dine at Osaka on Saturday evening. They were busy and it took several minutes to even be acknowledged. Finally someone came over after at told us it would be 10 minutes. That 10 became twenty and then another couple came in and the same staffer created a space for them to sit. They didnt have reservations either. There was never an offer to us to have the opportunity to sit in the space created for the other couple. In fact after the staffer sat them, she immediately told us in a matter of fact tone that it would be another 20 minutes or so. We were the only African Americans customers and definitely didnt feel welcome by the staff and we decided to quietly leave because of the way it made us feel. We dine out frequently and were looking forward to eating at Osaka. We will not go back to Osaka Sushi in Stillwater. While its obvious many restaurants are short staffed right now, however the way you look at, acknowledge and interact with your customers is so important. Busy doesnt give you a pass to treat some customers differently.
Its a smaller than usual experience so no hibachi and seems like a smaller menu too. Sushi was acceptable. I judge sushi with the usual Eel Avocado Roll (decent like most placesand Spicy Tuna Roll (not Spicy, but did have the Crunch I always look foras well the rice which didnt have a strong vinegar taste. The Pork Ramen was also acceptable, not salty but seemed to have a Kimchi Flavor of some sort like over at my favorite Ramen Spot - Zenbox. The Pork Belly was tender, but the egg was Well Done Green. We also had the Vegetable Egg Rolls which were juicy inside, almost as if they used Tempura infused batter, they seemed fresh, cripsy, and Golden in color. The Beef Bulgogi was also acceptable with less marinade flavor but chunkier cuts. All in all, it was a fairly good meal. I would definitely recommend it if youre visiting Stillwater.
Delicious gluten free options! I got the salmon avocado roll and chicken fried rice. The fried rice was super sticky which surprised me. Ive had others that were difficult to eat with chopsticks, but that wasnt an issue here. It tasted good, if but a little oily. But not so much that I wouldnt order it again. Very good and the staff was helpful and friendly which is a huge plus in my book. You should give them a try.
I dont eat sushi but Ive been here many times because my wife is in love with it. She says its absolutely the best! She says 2 thumbs up
Another great meal!!! Oscar made up a spicy roll for us with no rice, to accommodate a low carb diet. Amazing flavor! Always great service at the sushi bar. Thanks Oscar!!
So fresh and delicious. Sit at the counter with Sushi chef Jack for a curated experience. It will be your new spot.
Very enjoyable experience! Great sushi! Our waitress was very nice and attentive! Well be back!
It was the best sushi that me or my girlfriend ever had. I will definitely be going back for slot more.well worth the trip.
Great food, excellent sushi. Terrible service, long wait times, food is served on flimsy throw away plastic bowls platters. Not a great way to enjoy soup and sushi. Definitely great for takeout tho
This is some of the best state side sushi I’ve ever had. Definitely get the fired calamari, it is perfection from the breading to the portion.
Great service and Great Sushi. Awesome experience.
They are doing dinein and its deliciousGot myself Miso soup, Spider Roll and Eel avocado roll, Geisha roll and cream cheese wonton.
Food is great and they have amazing service. Unfortunately their new website fails to take my order every time. It just crashes. I wish theyd put their old site back up so i can actually order their food again.
Good selection of sushi and very tasty.
Nice little hibachi/sushi place. Sweet potato and tempura rolls are very good, and its a great place to bring a friend to share a couple of rolls. Definitely a nice weekend or mid-week treat
I give 3 stars because of several reasons. The food.. very good! Very much enjoyed my combo meal as did my partner. The service was good. Quick and to the point. The strange part of the evening was the other employees. At one point there were at least 3 male employees that had entered the restroom at the same time. Keep in mind this is a one person restroom and we were sitting a few booths away. Heard laughter and giggling, then one at a time they would leave the restroom. Not sure what was going on but didnt make us feel comfortable.Probably wont be back.
Interesting sushi. Great flavors. Happy hour until 5 pm.
The food here was good. Solid sushi, tasty but not over-fancy. What really stood out was how fast the food was out and how generous the portions were. For typical sushi price, you got a lot of roll. The Korean BBQ wasnt authentic, but tasted good.
Delicious overall and by far the best service we have received in downtown Stillwater... I forgot to take a before photo, but maybe the aftermath carnage speaks for itself. Couldn’t finish everything so we took home a little chicken katsu for next days lunch. Will definitely go back.
Great selection of Sushi Rolls both raw and cooked.Fried Rice with Yum Yum sauce is a personal favorite along with the “Zig Zag” roll
The sushi is very good here, I recommend sushi chef Oscar, he definitely puts together some good sushi.
Maaan..this is the second location Ive tried and both were disappointing. I mean it was ok but Id rate food and service a well deserved 3. It was not impressive but hey I took a picture for yous anyway.
Food was great! My husband was stuffed when we left, I loved the sushi except for a couple of them, I didnt like the texture. But our waitress was on point with coming and checking up with us.
Great ramen! If you want it vegetarian just ask for it and you wont be disappointed. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend for something a little different.
Ordered the Osaka Boat. Assortment was good. Wished the sashimi was thinner. Overall delicious. Service was friendly and good for us. There were 13 of us dining at 8pm and they were able to accommodate at last minute.
This tiny storefront hides some great dining. The ramen was too die for - just spicy enough, with melt-in-your-mouth pork belly. Sushi was delicious as well. Prices are 100% reasonable - $70 for a family of four including sake and dessert.
Good food, terrible service. We ordered 5 rolls to go. Two for me, two for my man, and one for my son. For the record the rolls tasted great! However, I asked when we were leaving if we could have some soy sauce to go. The younger Asian woman stated she already game me two small sauce cups. I looked and seeing how little there was, I restated can we please have some more, looking at my 5 rolls I figured its a realistic request. The young woman then looked at my family of four and said "no, you only get two for two adults". I am so baffled that this type of customer service still exists. I would recommend going anywhere else, its to bad we tipped prior to getting our food. I hope the tip goes right to the chefs.
Ive been to Osaka several times and have always had wonderful food and service. On Friday night my Boyfriend and I ate our usual dinner, which was delicious as always, and I went to pay our $40 tab. When my card and receipt was brought back, they had charged $90 on my card. I was told all they could do was good the charge and the money would be returned to me in 3 to 5 days. They then proceeded to make me pay an additional $40 for pur tab. Im not out almost $150 for a $40 meal and all I got was a half hearted "sorry theres nothing I can do". Extremely disappointed in the customer service.
Odd location but they do a great job. Fish is always fresh, and the chefs are absolute artists. An underrated gem for Stillwater japanese dining.
Quite expensive and the food is okay, the sushi is great!
Chef is well versed with the menu, the fresh-off-the-plane seafood is always clean and carefully represented, and the wait staff are some of the friendliest in town. Every trip I make I order one menu item and I order a dish that I let the chef make for me, which so far has been unbeatable. Also the hibachi dishes are never over done or underdone (seriously they are on point with everything. Love love love this place! A bit pricey but well worth the price. Especially awesome when you can bring newbies ;)
