Orlova Chuka Cave - Tourist attraction in Sliven, Bulgaria
Easy to reach compared with other caves I visited, fantastic views from the entrance, inside theres lots of interesting natural formations to see, the obligatory guide is excellent, good sense of humour and a good singer also.
Nice and interesting cave. The tickets were 10 BGN for adults and 5 BGN for children. You can only enter the cave only at fix time, every hour, and only accompanied by a guide, who speaks only Bulgarian. There are no details in English, only in Bulgarian. And he asked the group to leave the cave after around 40 minutes. Also the guide doesnt walk you through all the cave. Luckily we explored the cave by ourselves, we left the group, and we discovered a lot of interesting places and rooms, places that the other visitors didnt see. There are indeed bats in there, a few of them flew close to us.The temperature inside is 14 degrees at all time, or at least this is what it was written over there. But it wasnt that cold, I was in a T-shirt and short pants. You can park really close to the cave. There is a small restaurant, from where you can buy the tickets, they have some beverages, but I dont know what kind of food they have. Also there are tables outside where you can eat your own food. The cave itself was clean, but the area around it wasnt. Everything is old and dirty.Bottom line, its worth a visit for one hour.
Amazing guided tour and one of the largest caves Ive visited. The temperature inside is 14 C, so wear something warm.
Cave can only be visited with guide, starting every full hour. The guides stories are mainly made for kids, like pointing out dinosaurs to be seen in the shadows. Interesting to visit but not very educational, especially if you do not speak Romanian
Impressive cave, has a massive interior
Very nice caves but you should let us leave when we want, not closing the gate at the entrance. We went there with a small child and when we wanted to leave, surprise, the gate was closed and had to wait for she guide to open it.
The cave has impressive shapes, worth the short visit, nice views from the top outside. The guide is a bit strange, he seems to know details about the cave and the relief from the area, but the personal beliefs (origins, facts, theoriesare controversial, but we are all different , arent we? 😊
Nice and interesting with the guide being so wise and telling all sorts of stories.
Nice place close to Ruse. Guided tour included in the access fee.
Should definitely go see this. Very fun experience. The guide, Ilie, was the best!
Never saw before such cave!
Very nice cave. Gigantic bat colony.
It will be a very nice experience! The cave is lit. In exchange of the fee you will receive a guided tour. Temperature is constant 14 degrees C.Parking is free and you can buy there a coffee or even something to eat.Ps - dont miss the viewpoint next to the cave entrance.
Cave is not very rich of rock formations. Still beautiful on its own.Tour guy gave a bit of crazy talk.
Cool guide, very unusual and interesting cave, among the best Ive seen, definetly worth it.
A verry nice cave, with limestone walls shaped by a river in organic shapes like a Gaudi masterpiece!
Very large. Crowded area. Suficient car parking (unguarded). Only every 1 hour is the entrance, arrange your time to dont waist one hour waiiting. Guide in only bulgarian language.
A very unusual and interesting cave. Highly recommended. This was the only cave in Bulgaria, in which the explanation was more scientific. Prices were low, staff was nice and overall experience was great.
The place is uniqe and full of priceless history. Photos are allowed. It is 14 degrees in there, so keep this in mind. The person that is local guide was really bad, i was very disapointed from him. To be clear i was ashamed that he was talking bulshits all the time. If someone knows this guy, tell him to do something else. But the cave is TOP , so i cannot give anything but 5.
Wonderfull! The guide is a show man, he is most interesting than cave itself even this is interesting!
Very nice structure of the cave but the number of rooms for visiting is very limited.Dont know if it was a joke about the cracked cliff, but it would be dangerous for the visitors if that would be true.Overall nice experience.
The cave is very interesting and beautifull. The guide gave the tour in two languages. Be sure to have leva as you can not pay in euro or other currency.
Great place. The gentleman that organizes the tour provided a wonderful experience, with vocal singing and harmonica. He speaks French very well.
What an awesome cave! The best part is the guide, Kayulian who speaks fantastic English so you can enjoy the tour, hearing all about the history and changes happening in the cave. Its fascinating and Kayulian is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the cave so 45 min goes by in a flash! The cave have some special effects like Hollow shapes formed in the rocks, creating unbelievable sounds. Kayulian told me they used to hold concerts in the cave, I can only imagine how amazing that was with the unique dome shaped ceiling. I highly recommend visiting the cave on weekdays if possible when its not so busy. The drive is easy and beautiful, lush green landscapes as far as the eye can see. Entrance is 6lv. Theres a small snack shop with Coffee. Tour is every round hour, last tour is at 6pm. After take a short drive to Cherven Fortress to enjoy an amazing sunset.
Recommend! The gid show us the dark (interestingside of the cave! Very impressing and unique place! Will be back soon again.
The cave open to public after purchasing tickets at the small shop on the way down the cave. You can walk from there to Tabachka or Pepelina, not on the map. Follow red walking path. Great views
Nice place. Beautiful views from the top.
The most beautiful cave I have ever seen :)
Very nice cave, with bats inside. The entrance is a little bit difficult to get (for old people at leastdue to some high stairs.Even if the guide speaks english, he explains only in bulgarian.
The entrance fee was 6 leva/adult. They have a guided tour, but the one we went with was apparently in bulgarian so we didnt understand anything from it. The cave itself its gorgeous! Totally worth the visit. On maps you will see two parking lots, I recommend you to leave your car in the first one, thats 100m from the cave, because the one thats closer to the cave is unpaved, and it was really muddy when we went. There is an area designated for picnic if youre into that and a view point with the most wonderful view Ive seen in a while.
Interesting. It really deserves the effort of visiting.
Its the second biggest cave of Bulgaria, must see when around, the very well documented English speaking guide is a great plus...
Wonderful! 1,3 km long cave, 12 000 bats and a skelleton from a dinosaur perserved in the limestone!
Amazing cave and history... and the guide that told us the stories was very funny and awesome.
Magnificent cave, its second longest cave in Bulgaria - 13 km! That cave got very long hystory - over 1.5 mln. Years, great place, recoment for every one!
A very nice experience, beautiful surroundings and a beautiful cave with some interesting stories. Unfortunately, we could not understand a part of them because the guide does not speak English at all. Entry fee is 6 leva (local currency)
Beautiful view and interresting cave.
Nicely renovated with very colourful guide.
The most peaceful place Ive been to in a very long time. The guide was really nice, he sang to show us the qualities of the cave and we sang together. Awesome vibe.
Very friendly and funny french guide! Nice place to visit.
Wonderful place for half day getaway. Not recommended for clostrophobic people. 14c temperature.
Awe inspiring views a great little cafe and a cave you can easily get lost in (and watch out for the thousands of bats :-). Well worth a visit.
Young cave so not exactly splendid stalactites or stalagmites inside. Still a nice view if you are passing by. Guide speaks English, easy access if you dont mind the many stairs. Unless you have knee or back problems should be fine
An amazing place and the guide is a real entertainer! A Formidable performance!
A very nice cave. The tour takes about 30-35 minutes. It has rooms with high ceiling and also places where you have to go down. It has also a narrow labirint which is very nice. The entrace is made with a guide and he makes the tour.
A beautiful nature and surroundings. A fascinating cave presented in an interesting way by the guide. Strongly recommend visiting!
Great place to visit near Ruse! The tour guide was the best ever. If you plan to go there, be sure you have a sweater, you learn some french for the tour and have 6 leva for the ticket.
You have to go down several stairs to reach the entrance of the cave. Its a long cave. I saw some bats too. They have a guide who speaks Bulgarian and French (he knows some words in Romanian too). He made the visit enjoyable. The tour lasted 40 minutes and costs 6 leva per person.
Large cave, the second longest in Bulgaria
Great cave, and even better guide. The man is very passionate for his job and makes your tour unforgettable. You will take photos, sing, play music inside... It is fantastic.
