Venerable science center with hands-on exhibits & planetarium shows, plus giant-screen & 3-D films.
There is something for everyone here. All ages! You are guaranteed to learn and have fun. I recommend becoming a member because you can visit anytime or every weekend and not have to pay for the parking every time. There is usually a special exhibit and this weekend it’s Hot Wheels and Racing!
If you have children and live within a half hour, get the membership! I go weekly with our playdate group consisting of 7 kids ages 7 months to 5 years and its a different experience each time.Really easy to watch the kids in KidsTown unless theyre in the climber which is still easy to keep track of them, you just might not see where they are inside at all times. We also really enjoy the story times with hands-on activities although wed always enjoy more activities because theyre so fun. I always leave inspired to try some new things at home! The staff is incredible, parking in the attached garage is so convenient, and we love attending the special events that are included in the membership for FREE like the adult nights. Traveling exhibits are hit or miss for our younger age range but we always enjoy getting to see something new and cant wait for their new LIFE exhibit to open. When all of the moms in our group discuss what annual passes were getting, we always agree that of course were renewing this one.
It was okay. Most of the exhibitions are obviously for kids, which I respect; I wouldve loved to have a science center like this when growing upThe dinosaur section was the highlight for meAll in all, take your kids and invest a couple of hours learning
Pumpkin and protons. There was families activities like science experiments and dance in the dinosaur room. There was a fun show called Ghost flushers that the kids enjoy every year . Great for elementary age.
Excellent place to take young kids to enjoy science, hands on experiments. Spacious facilities. Price is reasonable and they offer annual passes, taking partially into consideration the payment for one day admission. It can take a whole day to enjoy all the exhibits.Truly recommended
I come here every other month! My kids love this place. It’s not somewhere that adults would be interested in but there’s 4 levels of different exhibits. It’s a good place to kill about 3 hours.
Finally went back here after not having done so in over 15 years. My last time in this building was all the way back on a field trip in middle school, and I was extremely relieved to see that very little had changed. Even as an adult with another new-to-the-area adult in company, we had a surprising blast. I was a bit bummed to see the previous NatureWorks floor under renovations, but am hyped to see the Life exhibit when it comes out. Similarly, Im elated to return for the re-opening of the observatory within the next several months, which I always wanted to do as a child but never had the opportunity. Tons of activities throughout the day with very cute little pop-up areas for kids to have fun as well. I greatly enjoyed the shows and overall homely atmosphere, further enhanced by kind and amazing staff. The handful of elevators remain sparse and slow as I remember, so the only true obstacle comes in navigating the lengthy staircases repeatedly. However, new rotating exhibits put new flavor into my trip, along with old classics still being right where I remember them. Now that I live in the area and have the power to do so, I hope to go back on a regular basis for new experiences. Just as fun as I remembered as a child, and still with the same value as an adult!
We love the science museum but the staff is heartless. On my sister‘s one-year memorial we had an incident. After speaking with Travis. I just don’t know how person‘s heart would be so cold. Five stars for the museum not too sure about the staff. My wife’s dog passed away same day on my sisters memorial day. When people are too intelligent to forget about a persons emotions and their feelings and what they’re going through and Travis showed that
Another nice place to visit in Orlando ! The child play place is a highlight ! It is like a children s museum in a science museum! It get some classes in this museum too !We don’t have time to check it out , if you have time , you can check the classes out !If you have kids ,that is a nice place to hang out with the kids !For the rest of the part , It will say more ! It is just like the other typical science museum I guess !
Came here with my wife, place is pretty huge. Had loads of activities to do and learn, the exhibits were pretty neat, and the staff were amazing. We weren’t there for very long, but had a great time.
What an amazing place to take the family. My toddler absolutely loved it and there were so many activities. The center is divided in to different rooms each with its own theme/activities. Children can see the process of orange harvesting, one room is water themed, another involves physics (but in a fun way—you can make your own roller coaster), and area to dig up “fossils”. There are many other areas/activities and a place to have lunch. I would highly recommend as it will keep you little ones preoccupied for hours.
I had a great time with the kids. They had plenty of fun. They learned many things and played. We also went to the theater to watch Dino Dana. I think the most funniest part was when the children run around on the mat. Its when the dinosaurs come out, and they are trying to get away from them on the screen. Unfortunately my grandson was squashed by a dinosaur and everyone laughed when I said, "oh no, it squashed my baby". Lol!! It was hilarious. I snap shot it from the video that was recorded, so everyone can see. 😢🤣The staff were kind and the center was very clean. Theres a place for eating, drinks and coffee and a shop. There was a section that was closed for renovation. I think it was the animal section.
First, check the scheduled activities before planning your trip. Some of them are worth itThis place is great for kids of all agesIt has soft play area, another climbing/running maze.Other areas with simple scientific/math challengesThen there’s the dinosaur/fossils areaYou can easily spend 3 hours of fun & learning here
Went during a free Musuems on Us weekend by Bank of America it was pretty packed but manageable. The elevators took forever which was unfortunate because we had a stroller with us. Overall we expected more exhibits and a bigger venue but it was a fun time for the family. Ideal for kids 3+ as there are a lot of activities and fun for them to participate in. Parking is $5 and there is a walkover bridge to the science center. They have a coffee bar and restaurant on premises as well
Well worth the expense! It was great for my kids! Definitely need take multiple visits so the kids can take their time to enjoy each area asuch as they like.
I loved this place and so did my family, the only thing could say I would change is how much capacity they allow into the place. It was overly crowded and it was so hard to try to get to everything there. The parents here need to keep their kids in check and make sure they arent cutting off other kids and running around people aimlessly.. other than that it was a cool experience.
Super professional science center and kids play area. Perfect for all ages, from babies to teenagers. The weekend schedule was so interactive and in depth!
Great exhibits and events! Highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area! Super friendly staff and volunteers, and the whole family had a great time!
Family and I had a great day here. We spent about 5-6 hours here and had to drag my 4 year old out! Nice exhibits and shows throughout the day. Parking ramp allows easy handicap access if needed. Elevator is on the 2nd floor of the ramp and parking was $5.
I like to visit the science center of every major city i go to. I went here on the weekend, seemed like most of exhibits are targetted towards younger children/demographics (as expected). However, I feel like the museum is lacking in things to see, with only 4 or 5 solid wings to the museum. When I was younger, this was one of my favorite places to go, but now a lot of the joy is lost.
It was a decent experience (I went a year agoParking was horrible! Unless you park in the garage the entrance is hard to fine Haha. The dinosaur exhibit was the best room by far. The hands-on actives were great in the main room and in the weather room. I would recommend it for a couple hours. The playground was closed when I was there.
Had a great day with my grandson here at OSC. Its a wonderful way to spend a rainy day. He really loved the reptile exhibit. A little treasure in Orlando. <3
Such an awesome children’s museum! Lots of activities for my one year old. We enjoyed our visit! I would give more stars but there were trash/food left on the bench at the fossil area that contained my child’s allergen.
It was a great visit! Also thank you Kelly-who was working on the DinoDigs/Our Planet exhibits- you made our visit so much better with all your knowledgeable help! Will definitely be back with my family. Also want to note that it is full of kids who are constantly running and screaming. However, it is a place for learning, and they are just exploring, so personally it didn’t bother me. If you do not enjoy an environment like this, just don’t visit!
This place wasnt really what I expected it to be. For the price of $24, ($22 with a student discount which is what I did), there really isnt much to see or learn from here unless youre in elementary school or younger. Granted, its very much worth it if you have a family with little ones, they have plenty of activities for for the whole family to enjoy. But being a grown adult going in completely blind and expecting something a bit classier and educational, I was heavily disappointed by the experience. It was weird being the only adult male here who didnt have a child or a family in there, I was starting to feel like I shouldnt be there. Aside from the dinosaur exhibit, it just started to feel like I was walking through the worlds most expensive playground. Not much to see in terms of exhibits.Orlando is a great city that deserves a museum with as much caliber as the ones youd find in New York or Washington DC. Just because your next door to the theme parks doesnt mean you have to transform yourself into one as well. Perhaps make it more clear in your advertising that this is a family attraction rather than an actual museum.
Horrible experience. No staff monitoring exhibits so I’m sure they were unaware of the unruly unattended kids not being watched by parents. My kids got ran into and knocked over multiple times. Some interactive exhibits weren’t working and to top it off employee MOCKED MY AUTISTIC CHILD who was already overstimulated, which I did not appreciate, which is why we left after not even being there an hr. Definitely not worth 84$.
We started visiting by 2003 and every year something renovated and new attractions.and remembering with how fun it was!
Kid-focused but enjoyable science museum with plenty of interactive exhibits. A great environment with friendly and engaging staff. Decent Cafe too. Worth visiting the poozeum display to see the worlds largest carnivorous corprolite.Great dinosaur exhibits.
What a great place for the young minded learners to grow, learn, and have fun.The exhibits are safe for most ages. Directions around the facility are posted well. Some of the stuff was under construction when we went, hoping it will be done next time we go!
The best place to take an non verbal autistic child as well as teenagers!! My autistic 6 year old was so excited and so happy to be at this place!! You can spend all day in this place and never finish all the cool and educational things too. The art sculptures outside the museum are gorgeous.
Love it every time we go, we always have a great time. 4 floors of interactions and things to.do, with live animals including gators, snakes turtles and owls on floor 1. Kids zone and store and coffee on floor 2, Dino weather exhibit on floor 3 and kinetic lab on 4, you can also find food and a cinema dome on the first floor. We go here at least once or twice a year. Great fun for the whole family
My daughter and I love this center! It’s so much fun for the little ones and adults too! Lots of opportunities to learn from science, animals, cycle of the water, dinosaurs, they have two movie theaters there presenting instructive movies for the whole family. Definitely a place to visit!
Enjoyable atmosphere. I was in town visiting family and took a stroll through the museum. Certainly dedicated towards kids/teens more so than adults yet enjoyable regardless. Museum is well kept and has plenty to see. The planetarium was certainly the best part. Also, a fantastic tree right in the middle of museum that is wonderful to look at.
Wonderful place for kids! Real tropical rainforests animals and Rich and colorful scientific experiments! Strongly recommended!
Not only is the museum itself really fun and educational , but my husband and I had our wedding here in October of 2021 and it was phenomenal, an absolute dream. The event staff was so incredibly helpful throughout the whole process and the setup was beautiful. All of our guests said it was definitely the coolest wedding they’d ever been too and it totally suited us as a couple. Can’t wait to come back and re-visit these beautiful memories!
It cost $21 per adult, $19 per student 5-17, and less for under age 5. Our family brought 3 adults and 4 students. It was a really good time for everyone who went. We were there for 5 hours and sufficiently tried and saw everything we wanted to see. So much interactive stuff to do. Our teens spent up to 15 minutes at certain exhibits that peeked their interest. We also saw the turtle movie in the dome theater. It was beautifully done and a nice relaxing end to a busy day. They also have a coffee stand there with prices around $5/beverage. On the first floor there is a reasonably priced Cafe. Everyone agreed it was a great place to go.
Great place for kids! Wouldnt recommend for just adults unless you like doing the hands on kids experiments.
We are very happy that we found this place. Our wedding is on a Monday night and as our guest said the most lit wedding party theyve been. Aside from having the bestest event place the people working there made it worthwhile. Micala, Laura and Helen made it all possible. You guys rock!
This is a hidden gem in Orlando! We live in Florida, so were looking for something other than the typical tourist stuff. We were not disappointed! I highly recommend to add this to your list of places to visit in Orlando. We practically had to be kicked out at closing time. My kids are 6 and 10 and LOVED it.
This place had a TON of cool stuff for kids of all ages. I especially loved the brain teasers they had on several floors by the staircase. My kids loved the nature stuff, especially the tornado. Parking was ample and it was easy to social distance because the center itself was so large. My family had an awesome time and would definitely be open to returning!
One of the best places to bring your kids. There is a big parking lot with $5 cost and the entrance price is variable, depends on the day. I paid $10 each and worth it. There are a lot of things to do, for all ages. The place is huge and you can spend all day long there. The kids will love it, definitely.
We love coming here every couple years to see whats new! Its always a good time. Lots of interactive exhibits spanning across 4 floors. Its very well maintained and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Great for kids of all ages.
As soon as you step in, youll notice how interesting this place looks, I actually went to take my 3 year old, but I enjoyed too. There are a lot of areas for the kids to play. I noticed my child pay attention to some curiosities that this place has and that is exactly the purpose, to pique kids curiosity. The parking was really easy too. Ill definitely coming back and I highly recommend.
This is such a fun place for kids! My son is 4 and absolutely loved it! We bought annual passes so we can come back again. There are 4 levels with various science themed fun projects to do. The bottom level has alligators, snakes and turtles. There’s also a lunch cafe and a coffee shop. So much to do!
I have never had so much fun with my son and wife.Awesome place.Tip: save on parking, go behind the center for free parking.Educators enter for free! Another bonus. We really enjoyed the entertaining brain games they had on display.
My husband and I had such a blast here today! There was so much to do and explore that we actually stayed from the museum’s opening at 10AM until it closed at 5PM.GPS: You must type in “Orlando Science Center Parking Garage.” Level 2 is the pedestrian bridge that leads you to the museum. There was no one manning the entryway, but it says that parking is $5 at the time of entry online. Idk, if it’s free just because it’s Sunday, but my online ticket definitely charged me $5 for parking, FYI.Bank of America Members: Every first weekend of the month is free admission for BoA members. Each person must show their ticket barcode and their BoA card. The staff will check the expiration date.Online Booking: I recommend that you reserve your time slot on their website. The lady in front of us had to wait over 45 minutes to get in because she did not buy her ticket online and that was the earliest availability.Masks: Like seatbelts and condoms, guys - Always wear protection. Their mask mandate is all over their website when you book online. It even has the specific masks that are permissible to wear, like surgical masks and cloth masks with strings that go behind the ears. No necks gators. Bring an extra one just in case you lose the first. Call ahead of time if your child will have an issue wearing one.Activities: Wow, so many hands-on activities! Plenty of hand sanitizers around. We had fun building wooden cars and racing them, learning how to tie complex knots, paper coiling art, flying paper airplanes at targets, solving brain teasers, and hands-on puzzles. There was a cool liquid nitrogen demonstration we watched. The lower level had fish, insects, amphibians, and reptiles. We also watched two films in their CineDome. The Dolphins film was about an hour, and the Turtles Odyssey was 45 minutes long. The curved screen went all the way up to the ceiling. I’ve never seen anything like it. There’s surround sound. It seems larger than an Imax screen, yet not in HD quality. Really cool experience, though.Food and drinks: The mocha latte at the coffee spot was good. 4roots Cafe is located on the bottom floor and had many delicious and healthy options for under $10. You can build your own bowl, and they have sandwiches, focaccias, wraps, Dino nuggets, pizzas, hotdogs, and salads. They’re open from 11AM-3PM.The only biggest attraction that was closed during our visit was the Kids Climb area. There’s so much to do, though. It’s a little kid’s (and a big kid’sparadise lol. With everything going on in the world, I just hope you guys don’t forget how to play and have fun!
The theater was amazing, so was the dinosaur exhibit. I am so happy we went during a special event. The only down side was several activities were closed due to Covid and I feel there is a lot of unused space were more exhibits or activities could be added.
Went to Pompeii and it was great! Lots of areas for kids. This is my first time since they moved from the old building (the Shakespeare theater it is called I believe). The cylindrical design is nice, keeping you moving from the bottom to the top. Would like to see a show here see if it holds up to the old Pink Floyd light shows that the old place did.So good deal for your kids to go and tons to keep them occupied. Did not eat so coffee and snack place is a question I cannot answer. Check the Science Center out!!
This was one of the best science museums Ive ever been to and Ive been to quite a few with my kids. There was something there for everyone of all ages. I think I had more fun than my kids just experimenting with all the different exhibits they had there. We went when they had the teenage mutant Ninja turtles exhibit and my kids enjoyed that. This is a great way to beat the Florida heat and its not to expensive for a good 2-3 hour adventure
This place was awesome. We went on adult night so there was booze which made it even more fun. The exhibits were interesting and fun for pretty much anyone. Nearly all of them are interactive which made it a great way to get kids into science. The building is Beautiful inside and out. The park around it was clean and spectacular at night. I cant wait to go back during the day and check it out. Its absolutely somewhere you should take the family for the day. Your kids will thank you for it.
