Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna, Rovaniemi in Hameenlinna

This was just perfect.

Lovely hotel with great location in city centre. Clean and well maintained hotel, but obviously age is showing little bit here and there.Staff is very friendly and made us feel wellcome.

Nice Hotel, big, clean, friendly, good breakfast. In total I was there for 4 weeks. I would come again.I did not like the beds as the duvet cover is not fixed and moving all the time.

Clean rooms. Very close to city center where you can find shopping mall. Restaurants, coffee shops and more.Staff are very kind and generous. Very good breakfast daily.

Nice hotel and good service. Rooms are very nice. I ordered room cleaning service but it never came. Super dinner and average breakfast. Parking carrage is small with small spaces.

Friendly service and well kept hotel. Recommended to use for S-group card/membership users to get the best discounts.

Double room with extra bed for the kid was very nice and spacious. Location was very convenient, close to restaurants and city center, Santa bus stop in front of the hotel. Sauna was great. Breakfast was ok. Unfortunately there was some noise from the corridors.

Very nice hotel with indoor parking and great customer service. Hotels restaurant is cool but food was little tasteless.

Basic clean and tidy hotel. The things I look into here in my own travels are the cleaness of the rooms. Bed was good quality and the location was nearby eveything!

We stayed in a room with double bed. The room had plenty of space and it was just next to the guest saunas and kids playroom. We left our car at the parking hall (the fee was 12e, so not bad price at all). The breakfast was really tasty and there was plenty of options to choose from. We got excellent service through the whole time we stayed! Definitely a good place to stay when you visit Rovaniemi! Thank you!

Very good and clean Sokos-Hotel in good location. Rooms, restaurants, sauna all very good. Friendly staff. Parking in hall is 12 e/d.

My advice is to avoid this hotel.Bad cleaning service, really expensive food and there is really bad relashionship quality/price, Much better hotels in town with lower price. i will not come back to this , thats for sure.

A pleasant surprise, Id have given 5/5 if the breakfast would have been better.The room was superb and the customer service was really nice.

A pleasant experience we had the artificial aurora borealis in the hotel room.I dont usually use the sauna but after about 5-6 hours spent outside in the cold, the hotel sauna was a blessing.

Room is a little bit small. But, this place is very neat and clean and the interior is excellent. Staffs are kind.

Ok not more. How this place could rate itself as a 4 Star hotel for luxury experience ... I dont know. It is ok and clean but do not expect something special for your money. Even if you spend a couple of hundred EUR per night, it is at the level of IBIS Hotel.

Twice been, could go back any day. I had business trip, but saw many couples and families too. Breakfast was really good and sauna offered some special beauty treatments like sauna masks. Delight after long working days!

Some rooms has to be renovat. Cozy place, expensive and close to the Kamjoky river.

Rooms were quite decently sized, didnt like the shower, breakfast was very limited and otherwise it was okay

Excellent breakfast. Comfortable and firm beds. Decor very good. Only downside was no individual thermostat so room was too warm for me - however, you could open the window. Overall, a very pleasant experience!

Pros - Breakfast (Good enough for Vegetarians), close proximity to restaurants and tour companies, sleds available (for outside play), heard this was the best hotel here in Rovaniemi, had a public computer and saunas you could use.Cons - Thermostat (Located behind the curtainswas jacked, Bathroom has no fan, Funky smell coming out from the sewers of the bathroom (though it was probably only our room), no body wash.Neutrals - Beds, Very big on saving water so youre going to have to reuse your towel(sand if not, youre going to have to pay for another one.

The hotel is located near the river and the city centre. Nice place, the reception service is very good while the house keeping definitely needs improvement.Our room wasnt clean 2 days in a row. After that the soap cartridge was taken away / no refill, dirty socks under beds....

If you need extra towel ,its for €4 extra. Mini fridge range is quite ok. Within minutes to Candle bridge.Room is abit small

Extremely beautiful Hotel in the City Centre of Rovaniemi Lapland Finland.

My hotel suite 358 was amazing. The staff was excellent. My only issue was that I received a 50 Euro parking ticket as I walked into the office to find out where to park. Just know that there is a parking garage behind the hotel. The 13 Euro parking per day is much better than dealing with a ticket from the Rovanimi police.

Very nice hotel, modern, clean and well located near Central pedestrian mall.Our room was spacious and very well appointed. Beds were comfortable.Breakfast was very good with a wide range of foods to eat. The bread was to die for!

Theres a shuttle bus running from the airport to several hotels nearby at a cost of 7 Euro. Just check with the drivers which hotel you are staying and get on the bus. So getting to the hotel is easy. The hotel room is nicely decorated with a simulated aurora lighting installed which is quite interesting. Breakfast was ok, though not remarkable, but plenty of choice. Check in and out was easy and staffs were very very friendly, even the housekeeping staffs were smiling and greeting us everyday which I felt welcomed, and extremely homely. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to others.

Great hotel. Situated right in the heart of Rovaniemi. The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel was very comfortable, clean, quiet and we enjoyed the Sauna. The beds are very comfortable and cozy, the engineering that goes into making those frames is absolutely fantastic. Would choose it again on future trips.

Large and nice rooms and close to city center. Great for holiday, but for business purposes Id need better table and chair to work with my laptop.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever been in Finland!!! Rooms are spatious, gym is amazing, as well pool and sauna. Breakfast is various and delicious. They have also bikes so you can visit the town for free with very good directions from the smiley personal. Really recommend this place!

hotel staffs were really friendly and very helpful. Rooms are very nice and comfy. The hotel has a club beside it so better ask before you check in.

Great service, warm atmosphere and modern and functional rooms, also pleasing to the eye. The hotel staff were very helpful, when we had to ask about food restrictions and also some remedies for insect bites. Will most likely visit here again, if I need to stay in Rovaniemi.

Fabulous hotel! Very comfortable and quiet nights sleep as well as a good breakfast!

Clean room and friendly staff. Our room was not that large, but no problem for few days stay. A bus station to Santa Village is right in front of the hotel. You can find a nice view of Lumberjacks Candle Bridge just few min walk from the hotel, it is out side to the left.

Room was great. The aurora borealis mood lighting was beyond awesome.

Room was cosy, but a bit too small in my opinion. The shower stall had a huge gap under the door and it wasnt elevated meaning that water would flow out of the stall easily during a shower. The service was good however. As we had a kettle that looked disgustingly bad, we requested for a change and they did it without hesitation. There was also free Wi-Fi available and the signal was strong. All in all, a hotel that is pretty nice to stay in Rovaniemi.
