Ordrupgaard in Hillerod
Description
Privilege
Fantastic museum. Good changing exhibits and good year round exhibits as well. A lot of French and Danish painters such as L.A. Ring, Gaugain, Courbet and many more.
MoreLovely place! Garden, Zaha Hadid building, amazing French and Danish art collection. And what is more important great collection of vilhelm hammershøi’s works!
MoreWe were early morning and was no problem find parking place. We were just outside and is a very nice place with some interesting art installations like the bambú tower of 20 meter high
MoreGood art but dont order the creme brulee. 80 kr for nothing. Tiny portion, but good taste. Good if you want to throw money out the door!!!!! No thank you
MoreVery nice place.
really amazing place, far from Copenhagen, but its worth the trip, trust me!
Great collection exhibited in well designed interiors. The museum is surrounded by a beautiful park, with interesting artwork here and there. Don’t forget to visit Finn Juhl’s house next to the museum.
MoreIts amazing places, building, garden and art works all.
PLEASE bring your kidz...they can easily spent a couple of hours in the parc while you are looking at paintings ;-)
MoreBeautiful park to take a walk and enjoy the nature. Interesting bamboo sculpture to climb!
MorePeter Hansen exhibition strongly recommended. Standing collection also amazing and space incredible. Finn Juhls house also well worth a visit and deserted.
MoreVery nice art museum that included a garden area with more untraditional (and funinstallations.
MoreReally lovely, especially the garden and the various sculptures. I also really enjoyed the architecture of the buildings.
MoreIt he museum park is a nice quiet place for all ages.
Beautiful collection of remarkable paintings from best painters of whole world , very interesting for children installations in park and house of architect full of best Dutch design. Much better than DAC
MoreNice place not far from Copenaghen. Museum, restaurant, sculptures, a great tower of bambù that is possibile visit walking from ground to the top. And last but not least a wonderful garden with spectacular trees!
MoreNice and peaceful place to sit in sun. Most importantly it has fun activities around for kids and elders to enjoy!
MoreOutstanding! But sub-standard restaurant: poor service and hygiene, uninteresting, overpriced menu.
MoreGreat collection of French impressionists, nice surroundings and building by Zaha Hadid. Definitely worth visiting! 🙂
MoreThe gallery itself is nice, the architecture splendid, and the French collection is a first rate second rate collection of art. The grounds are very nice, or rather - they would be if not for the ATROCIOUS way in which parking has (notbeen dealt with in the front part of the park. It looks like an illegal parking lot somewhere in Bangladesh. Horrific. Also, the labels are one thing Ive found wanting - there is no information regarding the medium, i.e. oil on canvas etc, which makes the whole enterprise seem rather amateurish.
MoreVery nice indeed!
Lovely museum with great shows. Checkbout the gem Finn Juhls house a timepocked in danish design.
MoreAwesome art garden with a top notch restaurant. And a museum too
A museum with deep Scandinavian historical and cultural affections, but hard for foreign tourists to appreciate
MoreExcellent exhibition at an interesting museum!
Often great special exhibitions and the regular collection is outstanding. Always worth a visit.
MoreOne of my favourite museums in DK. Awesome combination of new and old (💪 Snöhetta)
MoreFantastic gardens and lovely lunch. Kids chicken looked great as did the open sandwiches.
MoreThe classic collection of the musuem: french and danish paintings are a pleasure to view. The original venue of the musuem is classic and educational with the sound funding history. The newly buildt cafe adds a bit modern taste to the garden.
MoreDisappointed there isnt real room for kids. There are great activity sheets to guide and keep them interested throughout the exhibits, but unfortunately under 10s cant hold a clipboard and write standing up, and were asked to stand up as soon as the sat on the ground to fill in the activity sheets. However, the outdoor installations are amazing, a park for both adults and kids
More"Combining a world-class collection, open-air art, special exhibitions and visionary architecture, Ordrupgaard fuels the dialogue between past and present, classic and contemporary."
MoreA tower made of roped bamboo sticks. You can climb all the way to the top!
Museum is closed due to renovation but garden is beautiful and is inviting for kids to play.
MoreModern and traditional, this museum has its own unique atmosphere, from the entrance park walk to the sophisticated interiors of the museum itself. The restaurant is also lovely!
MoreThe sculpture garden is of outstanding quality and beauty. Be sure to visit this gem also while construction of the new museum building is in progress.
MoreAmazing place, worth visiting! And its close to Dyrehavsbakken, witch is one of the most beautiful parks in Copenhagen.
MoreI just visited the park since the museum is closed until 2019. It was a great experience! Interesting art and also nicely maintained landscape (much like Louisiana). Great spot to have a picnic or bring kids. Especially recommend the new bamboo sculpture!
Morecame here for zaha hadid and didnt expect so much more fun! the outdoor area is spiced up by art installations and its an ideal place to spend an afternoon. food was sold out when i arrived the cafe but the staff friendlily suggested other things still available. worths the 50min commuting from my airbnb!
MoreThe park surrounding the museum is great for kids to run around and play with the installations
MoreWonderful buildings in beautiful surroundings. The art was fascinating and beautifully displayed particularly the permanent exhibitions. I would have given this museum five stars except for one very negative part - as per most museums you have to view behind a barrier but if you have bi focals or are short sighted you cannot see the detail in the pictures. My friend and I had to lean forward to view and a very rude guard told us off for getting too close. He was unnecessary blunt and rude and put us off a lot. Couldnt see the rest of the exhibition in details so that was disappointing. Also on revisiting one part we ran into another rude guard because we werent displaying our spot tickets well enough. One of us had put a jumper on and the other had mistakenly hidden hers behind the museum brochure. Again, unnecessarily rude and obnoxious. Was so surprised I was lost for words!! How to put off paying customers!!!!! So beware - dont put a foot wrong here. Could learn some courtesy!!!!
MoreNice and cute garden, buildings as well - both old and new, but collection a bit boring...
MoreWorld class art and a magnificient building by Zaha Hadid and funny art installations in the garden by Olafur Eliasson. I prefer the Hammershoi paintings in the old building, though.
MoreNice collection of french and danish impressionist painters. They also have a visiting exhibition that changes throughout the year.Well presented and the building is a work of art itself. Designed by Zaha Hadid. There is a café and restrooms. A small shop and entry costs about 100Dkr.
MoreExhibition is limited both in quality and quantity by comparison to SMK or other art museums. Entry price likewise disproportionate. Cafe is stunningly crowded with only half of available floor space being utilized!
MoreLoved the art selection there. I was there for the Monet. They keep changing the exhibit. Definitely worth a visit if you are biking nearby. It cost something but it is free on certain days. Do make sure to check the website before you plan.
MoreExtremely expensive for such a small museum, eveb though the exhibitions are nice. There is a big surrounding area that could have been made much nicer and cozier, but is underused. Super crowded on the weekend, it seems like the entire population of Charlottenlund and around goes there at once. The café doesnt have enough tables to support that amount of people and the space is also underused (could fit more tables if they wanted). The menu seems nice at first, but the smørrebrød is so tiny that isnt worth the price.
MoreWonderful location and building. The temporary exhibition of Monet is fantastic.
One of the best museums Ive ever been. Nice architecture by Zaha Hadid and nice impressionist collection as well
MoreBeautiful architecture designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid. The experience from exterior and interior of the building is each unique yet coherent to one another, a master piece of architectural design.
MoreOrdrupgaard is situated in a lovely scenery, which is one of the reasons I enjoy visiting it every year. Especially when the weather is nice in spring, theres nothing better then enjoying a cafe in the garden. The museum is composed of two wings, the new one which features temporary exhibitions and the old one where is the permanent exhibition. The permanent one has mostly Danish art while the temporary one focuses on different artists.
