I had dinner at the Orchids Safari Club Hotel Restaurant and it was good. Classic Congolese dishes, my chicken moambe was good, service took a long time and I attribute that more to the kitchen than dining staff, who were friendly and personable. My wife and 2 brothers-in-law each had the tilapia. The reason for 3 stars for location is not because its on Lake Kivu (it isbut because getting there requires a decent road clearance vehicle (we were the only ones not in a Land Cruiser). Its an amazing neighborhood and just no paved roads, may help the residents with privacy but certainly makes getting to Orchid a challenge.I had chicken a la muambe a second time a few days later and realized I could not leave the review as I initially had rated the food. It did take a very long time for what did not seem to be complicated food. The muambe at the second restaurant was different and, better. The sauce at Xxx had a definite peanut flavor missing from the Orchid version, the three drumsticks were a better choice of chicken than the Orchid breast, and the whole habanero pepper swimming in the hot bowl just kicked up the dish compared to the Orchid.

Orchidée Safari Club a un service impeccable même si la commande prend un peu trop de temps et si la personne y arrive étant affamée le souffle lui est coupé, pour le Tilapia par exemple c’est délicieux y goûter et on oublie toutes ses faims, du Chicken Moambe accompagné des frittes simplement bien 😊 il y’a un peu de cassava leaves Sombe pour nous.Karibu Bukavu dawa 🤗

Franchement une véritable déception, il a été peut être été un bel endroit entre temps, mais le service est catastrophique, les chambres sentent le renfermé qualité des repas plus que médiocre, les serveurs oublient systématiquement les commandes ou vous apportent le contraire de ce que vous commandez. Rapport qualité/prix mauvais,Dommage

Amazing place

Hébergement majestueux et très bien situé le long des berges du Lac Kivu. Calme et sérénité règne sur place, verdure et fleurs et le va et vient des nombreux oiseaux rythment les journées et soirées de cet établissement. La restauration est dun standard très recherchée mélant produits locaux et cuisine internationale. Un étape délicieuse !

Orchids is our local restaurant which we frequent once every couple of weeks. The food is good, although it often takes anywhere between 30-60 minutes for the food to come out. Its also pricey, but when you have extremely limited options around you, there is not much you can do. Whenever guests are in town, this is where we put them up and have had no complaints so far!

Magnifique hôtel, que j’ai toujours considéré comme ayant l’une des meilleures vues sur le lac Kivu, avec une décoration des plus minutieuse, les animaux empaillés par les soins de Mr Edmond Eeckhout, excellent taxidermiste. Le personnel est vraiment qualifié et on sent qu’il ya de la passion dans ce qu’ils font.Il ya un accès au lac avec possibilité de faire du kayak.C’est vrai que les prix sont excessifs mais pour la position et le calme, je dis oui 👌🏽

Bel hôtel, au bord du lac, les chambres sont très agréables. Le feu ouvert sur la terrasse et au restaurant sont très apprécié lors de soirée plus fraîche. Les plats proposés au restaurant sont succulent et le buffet petit déjeuner est diversifié et offre des fruits frais et savoureux.

Orchids cest LA référence des restaurants à Bukavu avec une longue histoire derrière lui. Que ce soit les plats classique ou les pizzas, tout est très bon et en bonne quantité. Le jambonneau au miel est fabuleux! La terrasse avec la vue sur lac est fort agréable pour prendre le petit déjeuner ou un verre entre amis le soir. Le service est professionnel.

Ein absolutes spitzen Hotel. Bungalows verteilt in einem abgestuften Areal direkt am Kivusee. Eigener Hubschrauber Landeplatz. Gelände bewachsen mit Palmen und einem tropischen Blumengarten. Super Service, erstklassiges Restaurant, geräumige Zimmer mit Terasse. Sehr gutes Frühstücks Buffet mit frischen Früchten und allem was man sich wünscht. Ideal für Geschäftstermine. Vor dem Hoteleingang Afrika und Abenteuer pur. Siehe Fotos Bukavo Town. Das beste Hotel auf unserer Afrika Geschäftsreise, Uganda, Ruanda, Kongo. Wir kommen unbedingt wieder !

Beautiful hotel, good restaurant, wonderful views on Lake KivuI have been here only for dinner, lunch and used the gym. I always enjoyed it here. The area is well maintained with a beautiful garden. The rooms are expensive, but lets face there isnt that many great alternatives in Bukavu. Other hotels arent cheap either and do not even come close to Orchid.

Some say the best Hotel / Restaurant in Africa, certainly BEST in Bukavu, D R Congo ! For Rooms, Gardens, Flowers, Orchids, Canoe /Boat /Barge / Ship, Helicopter Rides, on Lake Kivu at 1 Kilometer Altitude. It was the Favorite of Bill Gates for a week long Safari to visit the Kahuzi National Gorilla Park with its Mountain Elephants, just before he got married; when I filmed a Video of Bills plane landing on the water of the Lake and the Ruzizi River between Rwanda and D R Congo ! Those were the Days ! And it Continues with Excellent Survival Jungle "Tourisme !" Come and see the Wild -- 2 meters in front of you -- in the Wild West of Africa !!!!

Nice place in a city with few alternatives. I felt I paid a lot more than what I got but its a sign of lack of competition as opposed to anything else. The restaurant area is done very nicely with a beautiful veranda. Great views over the lake, very relaxing and quiet.
