Reasonable accommodation. Would use again.

Excellent accommodation. Clean and very tidy. Cannot fault the facilities. My second time staying at this hostel and will not be my last.

We couldnt have chosen a better place to stay. Rooms are a good size. Beds are comfy. Mini fridge a plus. Private bathroom a win. Communal areas were full of everything you could need. Hosts were very accommodating when we were looking for a fan to cool down my poorly girl. Could not have asked or expected anymore from a hotel neer mind a hostel. We will be back.

We picked up our envelope for our keys - simple, non-contact check-in. Spotlessly clean, well decorated accommodation and convenient for getting to anywhere you need in Kirkwall. Would definitely recommend it.

Simple and comfortable

Orcades hostel is the perfect base for exploring Orkney. Single, twin, and family rooms available at a fantastic price. Close to supermarket and all local amenities. 10/10

Very basic hostel bunk but no access to other facilities due to Covid-19. Unfortunately I wasnt advised of this before booking. As a result I felt the room was significantly overpriced at £50 with no facilities. The night before I had full access to kitchen, laundry etc for £30. I probably wont use Orcades again at this price

Nette Menschen in einem gut ausgestatteten Hostel. Die Küche kommt mit allen daher was man sich in einem Hostel wünschen kann.

Really enjoyed my stay here, lady running the place very pleasant and attentative. Felt like I was staying in someones house - not a hostel. Very comfortable - would definitely just book this place again if back in Kirkwall.

Faktycznie hostel bardzo prymitywny jak to hostel czasy komuny mi się przypominały haha 😂 przestrzeń między łóżkiem górnym a dolnym taka że nie można sobie usiąść

Everything is broken. The door lock is missing and the door automatically opens when you are taking a shower.

Great hostel, WiFi is a little hit or miss. Other than that, no complaints.

Rooms were very clean with excellent location. Very helpful hosts, I look forward to our next holiday at Orcades Hostel!

We received a very friendly welcome. The room was warm (it was snowy outsideand there was plenty of hot water. The bed was comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean and the decor was fresh and modern. Well be back again.

Uitstekende groepsaccomodatie, ruime kamers.

We enjoyed our stay and the room was one of the nicer ones weve stayed in during our visit to Scotland. We had a private room with en suite, tv, a small refrigerator, and plenty of closet space. Hosts provide you with a key that allows 24 hour access. Theres a functional kitchen which allowed us to save some money by purchasing some basic food items at the TESCO which is within EASY walking distance. The town centre is also a very walkable distance away as well (5-10 mins depending on how fast you walk)The only thing I didnt care for was the Wi-Fi which was unreliable. I could pick up a signal if I stood by the door but moving anywhere further into the room and I lost it completely. Accommodation that advertises Wi-Fi available should take care to ensure it works adequately throughout the property. I think a couple inexpensive signal boosters would solve the issue and provide a better experience for guests.Overall I was happy with our stay and would book again if I was back in Kirkwall but do wish the internet had been better.

Stayed in a 4bed room with two bunk beds, ensure shower was handy, close to town centre too

Perfect as a base and place to sleep. And its priced accordingly so perfect.

Nice and cosy place. Quite good kitchen and dinning room, and the sleeping room was also nice, with a very nice bathroom. The beds were very comfy.Although there are many signs saying that you are not allowed in the place after checking out, they let as keep our stuff in the reception for the whole day after we left.
