Carefully sourced teas from around the world with a light menu and afternoon teas.
Beautiful café! Lots of cakes and nice coffee. Outdoor seating area was right next to a roundabout but I would still come again x
Ooh the best almond croissant!
Nice Afternoon Tea. Lost one star because of the lack of room on the table as there were 6 of us with 5 Teas so felt squashed! Also, no sandwiches, but glazed brioche rolls. Ok for us and delicious but might annoy some.
Perfect cream tea. Super efficient friendly staff, a selection of wonderful fresh scones, clotted cream and jam, a pot of tea of choice served in bone china. Every attention to detail. Superb!
Lovely cup of tea and great sandwiches to go!
Good location friendly helpful staff scrumptious food, recommended
Popped in here as was walking by, hence it wasnt planned, but was very pleasantly surprised. Great selection of tea and cakes. It does also serve traditional afternoon tea and lunch. Couldnt resist the Coconut & Vanilla cake which I enjoyed with a turmeric latte.
Booked well in advance for a birthday tea treat. We brought our two dogs who were welcomed, we were seated in the back portion of the restaurant where there is a skylight. It’s pleasant and bright but loud as there are no sound absorbing materials and made up of all hard surfaces: marble tables, wooden chairs, wood floors. Unfortunately our table was situated right outside the very busy toilet and next to the family table. The cakes and sandwiches were fresh and tasty, as were the scones (although served cold, personal preference is warmwith homemade strawberry jam which was delicious, served in lovely porcelain. I had two disappointments with my experience: 1. The tea was served very weak without the tea leaves and therefore not a great advertisement for the teas available for purchase, I did not enjoy the tea 2. The floors were quite dirty all around, covered in debris crumbs etc. perhaps a very busy morning but could have done with a quick sweep, the rest of the place appeared clean. Although other reviewers rave about the service I’d say ours was mediocre, polite and friendly however we weren’t followed up on to see how were enjoying the tea and if we wanted any extras (I did but never got to ordering it for this reason.Overall, it was fair value for money, and I might return to try their regular menu as the burgers looked scrumptious.
Went for an afternoon tea and the staff was the highlight of the afternoon. They were super kind and helpful. There was a wide selection of teas which is a strong side of the cafe.I had the gluten free option for the afternoon tea, yet the main issue was the bread. There was nothing special with the sandwiches, while the bread tasted like store bought, the feeling was a bit basic and bland with not much to offer. I was unable to eat the cakes/scone as they were too sweet and dense, respectively. It was an okay experience and would not come back. Mainly because you achieve a similar experience at home or buying a meal deal and a store bought cake.
Very nice, attentive staff and fresh, good quality food.
Lovely afternoon out. The staff were amazing and the food delicious! We took part in their Afternoon Tea.Excellent selection of tea and extraordinarily helpful in assisting us in making our choices🙂
Lovely ambiance for a tearoom, but it ends there for me! The tea came in a pot, that somebody had brewed for exactly 3 minsI was told..but they had taken the bag out, the tea is in a sort of teabag. It was very weak and hadnt had time to infuse! And for me killed the whole ritual of tea- making! Principles that only come with tea- making! So no loose tea in the pot,no tea strainer, or hot water on the side. The scone was very mediocre. Most people who go out for afternoon tea , do know a bit about tea making, especially if they are english, they do not need the tea to be timed and brewed for them, it is a matter of knowledge and taste.I also feel that the tea is not of high quality compared to other tea that I have had. I have been to so many tea rooms in my life, and this has to be one of the worst so far!
I visited this place today with my miniature dashound. Although we were sitting outside, halfway through my meal I was told by the young staff member that my dog can’t sit on my lap due to health and safety. There was no sign on display to confirm their rules and my request to see their health and safety policy remained un-answered. Needles to say I shall never ever visit them again. Dog owners be aware.
Delicious cake and a huge range of interesting teas. I tried a Japanese tea with notes of seaweed - really good. Comfortable, well-presented, with helpful staff. Quite special.
Lovely lunch and a pot of superb tea. Such a huge range of teas. Very friendly staff and excellent service
Very good value for money afternoon tea. Great quality tea, sandwiches were nice, the raspberry and lemon cake was lovely, othe cakes maybe a bit too heavy for me but still look nice. Excelletn service. Will come back
Amazing place for coffee. We will definitely come back for afternoon tea:-)
Such friendly staff, amazing coffee and love sampling the cakes - best place for a catch up
A special experience. Settle into a plush armchair, amidst interesting wallpaper, and enjoy delicious food. I recommend the warm scones and smoky earl grey.
Very good indeed .large selection of teas and cakes all great quality.
Delicious afternoon tea. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit.
The best breakfast I have ever had! The staff are wonderful, kind, helpful! I wish I could visit every other day, we just leave quite far.. Looking forward to be back and try new things on the menu! Well done staff!!!
A pleasant place to enjoy coffee, tea and home made cakes. Theres seats inside and some tables outside.
There are vegan dessert options, breakfast and lunch as well. One of the good cafe in Barnes. I tried oat milk Flat white, raspberry peanut ball and vegan burger were very well.
Impromptu stop for lunch. Warm welcome and truly delicious corn chowder soup and salad of soya beans and black rice. Prices are probably standard for Barnes.
Was a nice place, I used to come for 2 oat lattes, until same young waitress start giving unwelcoming and lame attitude on every arrival. Not coming anymore, theres plenty of other places where I can shop without feeling lesser of myself.
Gorgeous café with friendly staff and delicious hot chocolate. The orange polenta cake is so, so good. We had a Buddah bowl and that was lovely too.
Booked this place last minute for our mother’s 60th Birthday. Couldn’t be more pleased with the friendly service and attitude of the staff who were keen to make this feel special for our mum. Want to give a special thanks to vaanya (hoping I heard the name rightfor being genuinely considerate and attentive.
My favorite place! Not only a community feel since it is locally owned by a woman, but the staff is incredible and I love their Iced Cherry Tea and Iced Latte!! My kids love Pekoe and ask for it especially the banana bread! Follow their Instagram!
The takeaway afternoon tea was amazing, absolutely delicious! Thank you.
Beautiful place, great service and delicious food. Highly recommended for afternoon tea (which can be delivered to your home). They sell teas online which are perfect for presents.
Love it! Been here for coffee, snack lunch or tea many times over the last few years and it remains a great little place for all of these. The coffee is good, and they sell a variety of specialist teas both on-site and for making at home; the pastries and cakes are good too, but what makes it stand out are the staff. They are unfailingly cheerful and efficient. Cant wait for them to re-open the "tea-room" inside again, once Covid rules allow them to.
Orange Pekoe is reopening in 2 weeks time. It has been closed since Christmas for refurbishment and I have missed it! Love the selection of teas and coffee that make popular presents. Delightful little place to sit inside or out when weather permits. The cakes are the best - Carrot cake that is to dream off. They use real chocolate scattered on their coffee and hot chocolate is such a treat in miserable weather. Good choice of tasty lunch dishes and a fun classic afternoon tea, perfect scones and an irresistable glass of fizz to treat or share with friends. Well done to the charming, sunny staff!
Indulging bakery that satisfies all cravings. So delicious and freshly made . The staff is highly professional and friendly, the service is prompt and punctual always and the prices are reasonable too.
Stopped by for tea. Large selection to choose from. They also have a selection of alternative non diary milk. Had to have a scone (plainwhich is one of the best Ive had. Also had the carrot cake which was delicious. There is seated but is limited.
So delicious! The atmosphere is beautiful and the cream tea option is easily split between two people - a large pot of tea, cream, sugar, two scones, clotted cream and fresh strawberry jam. AMAZING.
The ‘two bridges’ walk is a Chiswick/Barnes staple, made even more attractive by having Orange Pekoe as the half-way marker! Huge variety of teas, good coffee (and decent-sized cups), and delicious cakes. The service is currently of a high order too. Indeed the only problem is getting a table... I suggest timing it so you arrive before or after peak times.
A lovely stop after a walk along the river! The staff are great and I had the best ever burger - their Halloumi and Portobello Mushroom option! A wide variety of delicious teas are also available meaning you can try a new one every time you to back!
Sunday afternoon tea. Lovely old world cafe which is deceptively large. Cakes were very nice a coconut and lime was very nicely flavoured and a vegan blueberry cake. Also gluten free options. Despite many tea flavours I had English Breakfast but a little weak for my tastes, maybe go for something more exotic!
Great atmosphere // Lovely staff // Delicious and pretty coffees and teas // Salads, cakes and pastries // Must try!
Great place to get breakfast though they dont serve it for long enough. As soon as Lunch rolls around the pre-made food is quite poor. Especially considering how food the breakfast is. I particularly love the pancakes. The coffee here is also pretty good though not the best in Barnes or Sheen. I usually go for their Honey Latte which is weird because I never go for sweet coffees but this is particularly good.
Orange Pekoe is a gem of a find! Such a wonderfully welcoming tea room with helpful and friendly staff. The food was utterly delicious - especially the scrumptious warm banana cake served with Greek yogurt and pistachios. Highly recommend a trip to this elegant, funky relaxing place. We’ll be back to visit very soon!
My cousin and I stopped here for a light lunch during an afternoon of sight-seeing. We opted for the quiche, which came in both vegetarian and meat versions. The shop owner was friendly and helpful. This is a great place for a quick lunch or tea.
First time Ive visited this tea house in Barnes/Mortlake. Took a friend there as part of a celebration for her 29th bday & we both loved it. Brown bread sandwiches w crusts cut off. Lovely fresh scones & large piece of rose petal cake which had to be taken home. Large variety of teas, loved the rose petal. A tad pricey at £nearly 20. p.head.
Already been twice. Generous pot of tea and there are dozens to choose from. My sandwich was delicious continental cheese with veg served with a small salad. You could say the place had pretensions but I didnt care.
Good breakfast but not bowled over by it. Nice atmosphere. A tad expensive even considering the neighbourhood
This is my second time visiting the Orange Pekoe, my sister introduced me to this place. We always have cream tea. Reasonable price for exceptional scones and the jam is delightful 😋 also the interior is lovely 💖 perfect place for a cream/afternoon tea. The lady with very short hair who served us today has great customer service too 👍
Got to tea at 2pm as per our reservation. Our order was taken at 2.36pm and at no stage were we told that the kitchen would be closing at 3pm. The children were still hungry and when we asked to order more food we were told that the kitchen was closed and no more food was available. The sandwiches and cake were lovely. The place had a good ambience and then setting was great.Very disappointed. We went across the road to The White Hart pub and had something else to eat there.
Its an absolute delight to go into a place that does gluten free bread and cakes, not to mention the never-ending selection of awesome teas and I think Ive had one of the best coffees in London in this place. Its a very cute place with nice decor and everyones very friendly and accommodating.
Cute little specialist tea shop tucked away in Barnes. Its like finding a treasure trove! Really love this place, great to meet an old friend for a good natter over a cup of tea and crumpets. Great service, food is fresh, good cakes and of course, excellent tea.
