Dine amid the twinkling greenhouse of the Line Hotel patio, where seasonal California fare awaits.
Nice rooftop location. Food was good but not great. I really wanted to like this restaurant but it fell short of my expectations. I was expecting more interesting or elevated dishes. None of the flavors stood out. I had lunch with two friends - I ordered the bowl with salmon and rice. What is this restaurants signature? I assumed it was Asian meet Latin/American-esque?... With that menu combo Id expect some umami flavors but it was oddly lacking a standout flavorful dish in my tables order. Also we felt rushed in an indirect way - staff standing around looking at us. We were one of the last tables at around 4pm. Perhaps it was shift change over but it came across as we were being pushed out.I probably wouldnt make this place a destination stop for food but I would come back if a friend suggested to meet there for a drink and small bite on the rooftop.
A break from life. Gorgeous garden surroundings and patio w/pool view. Purple Rain was strong and sweet. Food is worth lingering and... I confess... finger licking good.Recommend the ribs starter.
The decor is so beautiful. On a hot day it can get warm on the rooftop. Food is great..love the eggs Benedict. my fav! Service is always good.
THE BEST CINNAMON ROLL I HAVE TASTED IN YEARS--light and yeasty, not at all dried out, with orange zest in the icing. Just fabulous. Other excellent dishes werethe lox and bagel and avocado toast. Staff was happy to accommodate diet needs. Were foodies and pretty critical--this was nice.
Food was fabulous. Our server Frank was very insightful and helpful. Top notch. Youve gotta check this place out.
I am a foodie. I love trying new restaurants. This was my first time at Openaire and I went there for brunch. Manny made me have the best experience. He knew the menu from top to bottom and explained it in detail. He was amazing. He definitely had the unlimited mimosas flowing. Definitely will request him as my waiter when going back. By the way pancakes are a must try!
Really love overall experience at openaire.however, they really need to add few more vegan/vegetarian options!
I’ve been wanting to come here for so long finally got the chance for brunch. We made a reservation through OpenTable originally for 12 PM and we switched it to 10 AM, thankfully we were able to reschedule! The restaurant opens at 10 AM so we got the right when I opened and there was already a line.I went with a group of friends and we ordered all of the popular dishes. As soon as we sat down we noticed our forks were dirty, unfortunately. Not a great first impression but we brushed it off and ordered. All the dish items were excellent, coffee was hot and fresh. Ambiance was just as amazing as expected! I ordered the huevos rancheros and the cinnamon roll!Waitress was very nice and attentive!
I am so disappointed after attempting to eat at this restaurant for brunch. Came with some girlfriends, and the staff at the host desk named Will, wearing a powder blue blazer, laughed at us pretentiously because we came through with no reservation, then flippantly passed us on to a woman, who said the tables were res only, and we could probably get bar seating at this point, but would have to wait. We checked online, and it said reservations were required only for large parties. I love great food and ambiance, but customer service is EVERYTHING to me, especially when important people to me are being demeaned and disrespected. Needless to say, I will not be returning here.
Good - stunning design/location. Service friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant. Food was pretty good but maybe not quite worth the cost - idk - maybe just not my taste - plated aesthetically well but some dishes had better flavors than others. Only complaints - the charge for water ($5 each for me and my son, in addition to our drinksand the drink pours were very small light in comparison to cost. $18 for a very exact looking 5oz pour of Pinot noir was underwhelming. The hotel itself was wonderful but the restaurant - not quite all it could be.
Openaire is a vibe! It is located in a hotel and is right next to the pool. The scenery is amazing, food is delicious, and there is a photoshoot ready spot everywhere you look. Jenna was an amazing server and the bottomless mimosas for $30/person is a great deal! I highly recommend you give this place a try!
Overall decent dining experience. Hostess was a bit standoffish and their seating policy (not seating until entire party is there and giving table away unless the whole party arrives within 15 minutes of reservationis a little excessive. Food is great for sure, but the price is not justifiable for the small portion sizes and overall pretty simple meal. Not worth the hype.
I love the atmosphere and setting, they have good drinks, but the food could be better in my opinion. If you like Mexican I suggest avoiding the lobster chilaquiles cause they were so bland and flavorless. On the menu it sounds good, but in real life it’s mostly dry tortilla chips with red sauce, black beans, avocado, and bits of lobster. If you’re here for brunch I’d suggest ordering something more American. Place was great, drinks are good, service is good, food not so much.
First thing first. Make appointment, and be there in time. No early, no late. I have read a lot of bad reviews about the place, but none I observed happened during my time of visit.I made my appointment on OpenTable. If you want to sit INSIDE of the greenhouse, pick Standard. Outdoor means only outdoor. Simple and easy. The best time to pick is the time that they start, so you can get some good photos of the place without crowds ( if it is your first time there.)Changing your "standard" or "outdoor" sitting during "check-in" - Yes, it is possible, but not likely to be happened when fully booked. So cross your fingers if you messed up. Hey, read my second paragraph again to 100% sure your choice.Water - There is three types of water( yes, three types). One is a "sparkling water", second is a "still water", third is the tap water, which the third one they will never mention, I guess. Simple enough, first two kinds cost you some money, the last one is the only free to drink. As of today(4/8/2022), the money game is still like that, be sure to ask everytime. idk when they will change the game.Special set menu - If you come with 2+ people, and if one of you pick the LA menu, the whole table of you HAVE TO follow. I am sure the server will be happy to explain that to you.Okey, enough intro. Time for my review.Food is absolutely amazing. I ordered the crispy pig ears and the crispy confit duck. OMG, the duck is so good. Crispy outside, soft juice meat inside, which melted in your mouth, and there is kimchi rice underneath. So it is a perfect match for me.The server is nice, well trained, and respectful. Five stars for today. I came at the non-rush hour, they all did great. no complaints at all.Overall, Yes! they deserve five stars this time.
Delicious! I had French toast with bacon & scrambled eggs. The eggs were bland until I added salt and pepper to them. The pineapple juice was tasty as well; I got pineapple juice because they either didnt have or dont serve apple juice.
WONDERFUL DINING EXPERIENCE- We hadn’t been to Openaire in the Line Hotel since before Covid. We will be returning soon! The whole meal from start to finish was delish, presented beautifully, and the portions were great. The team of Will, Brian, and Anthony made the experience one we will be for again. Highly recommend the Bread, Tuna Tartar, Jidori Chicken, the Trout, fritters, and the mashed potatoes (wow).
The food here is tasty. Drink is also good. We really like the green house, and the modern urban atmosphere. However the service is barely nothing, it took us 25 minute to order from our check in. Also tap water will cost you 5 bucks.
Waiter was efficient and on top of our orders he kept checking in on us and the food overall was very good. Its such a nice location and has beautiful scenery. We had made reservations prior though to get a table.
I visited this spot for the first time and the atmosphere was breathtaking! Lovely greenhouse vibe and even on a gloomy day it was still such a pretty environment.I ordered from the brunch menu, avocado toast and the açaí - pomegranate slush. Those were the only two plant based options BUT both were really delicious and the slush went perfectly with the avocado toast.Im going to come back to try their dinner menu!
This is a must visit place when in koreatown. Located on the second floor of the Line hotel. The drinks are great, and bartenders are very attentive. The waitress was very helpful and gave great recommendations on what to order. Overall loved the food and the vibe. Will definitely be visiting again.
This restaurant is located in the Line Hotel so you need to enter the hotel building and take the elevator or stairs up to the restaurant. The restaurant caught our attention because of the peaceful and natural feel. The outdoor seating, glass ceilings and abundance of greenery makes this place feel good to be at. The service here was decent. I hoped that there would be more vegetarian options. Prices were high for the portions served.
Great vibe, amazing food! The drinks were just delicious as well. The kimchi rice was so good we got a special chefs for more rice only
Great ambiance. Wonderful tasting dishes and starters. Great cocktails. Certainly a good spot for dinner and couples on date nights.
Great food and drinks - We had a short wait for our brunch reservations. The salmon eggs Benedict and soft omelette were perfectly cooked. Drinks - Beast of Bourbon and Shattered were great addition to the meals.
What is your fantasy about a high-quality brunch? Openaire probably will be the one to satisfy your demand! This time we went to the Openaire to spend our Sunday morning. The place was located on the second floor of LINE hotel in Koreatown. With a great view of the K-town, Openaire offered us a fantastic experience! The whole place looked like a secret garden that was built by Openaire. There was a greenhouse that was made of glass for inside dining. It was perfect for a cold morning. We tried their Smoke Salmon Benedict, this is their signature dish for brunch. The potato on it was crispy and the salmon was done to a turn. We also recommended French Toast and Tuna Tarare. The parking in K-town was always a huge problem, while we parked at the hotel valet. It is $10 for two hours with the validation of the restaurant. The street parking was hard to get and most of them are one hour limit.
Not a flop, but I also wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again. Drinks were POTENT so that’s good, prices were a little high which was expected. The short rib and mashed potatoes were probably the best part. The wagyu sirloin was a flop imo - I feel like I could get the same dish at a longhorn or chili’s. It came out a bit colder than the other dishes too. Mashed potatoes were so good and perfect consistency - the fried rice is a flop just get that somewhere else. All in all, cute lil place to meet a friend or go on a date.
While looking for places to brunch in la, Openaire popped up and I immediately fell in love with the greenhouse inspired dining concept. I had to give it a try. However, i was extremely disappointed in my experience.I made reservations far in advance and was assured that my party would be accommodated. Upon arrival, the hostess attempted to seat my party outdoors, after I specifically chose to sit indoors. I spoke with the manager and explained my reservation specifics. The manager was condescending and extremely unprofessional and insinuated that I wasn’t being truthful. After making no progress with the manager, I spoke to the Director of Food and Beverage (whom i spoke to for the initial reservation). He proceeded to tell me that he didn’t recall speaking to me and that I “probably spoke to someone else.”After an extended period of time in dialogue, we were finally accommodated, as I requested. However, we were limited to the amount of time we could occupy the dining space. For the rest of the time, the staff was rude and displayed extreme aggravation.Overall, I would not return nor would I recommend this establishment for larger parties. the food was delicious, but the unprofessionalism and lack of customer service completely overshadowed everything else.
I appreciate the aesthetic and greenhouse setting. The food was ok. There’s too much sauce that covered the taste of the proteins. The lobster tail was overcooked.
Havent been since it was the Commissary, and living next door, I always wanted to try then again. Openaire? Hoooonneeeyyyyyyy....Food? de-LISCIOUS. Cocktail? Phenomenal. Wig? Snatched. Anthony was so great!
Service was excellent and professional. The dining area was well ventilated and there’s out door seating. The food was well prepared and presented. The branzino was fresh and firm. Sauce was tart and flavorful - it accented the fish well. Wagyu steak was very rich. Appetizers were well portioned. Cocktails were creative. Very good wine selection.
You really only go here for the ambiance. The decor and the “look” of the restaurant inside is why it’s appealing. Beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. The food was really mediocre. Everything sounds good and the ingredients sound great, but the flavors were lackluster. Too expensive for what you get. $10 for 4 rolls of bread with nori butter, the rolls were good but the nori butter made me want regular butter. The tagliatelle with duck ragout was so sadly bland. The fried rice tasted like you were only eating ginger. Beet salad had more cucumbers than beets. The wagyu sirloin was actually decent, only because of the wood ear mushroom jus. The desserts weren’t worth the calories. Oh, and they charge for water! *Yes! They charge for water, insane!*Best thing I ate that night.. the fried pig ears. Perfectly seasoned and salted. The yuzu aioli was a nice touch. All in all, don’t go for the food. Set your expectations low for that part. You go here for the pretty restaurant. Prime time is when the sun is setting. The restaurant has that lovely dusk glow and then the warm lights when it’s night.
The pictures of this place are real - beautiful greenhouse and amazing overall ambiance!Reserved a table for 10:00 AM 1.5 weeks in advanced on a Saturday. Read reviews via Yelp beforehand on tips to reserve a table in advance and to select "outdoor seating" to be seated in the greenhouse. Come to find out that when the day came to dine and we checked in, we learned that the GREENHOUSE IS "INDOOR SEATING"! My sister and I really wanted to sit inside, explained the confusion to our hostess and she kindly checked to see if they had any indoor seating available... luckily they did! Very grateful she accommodated us right away. Feel very glad to have been able to experience and sit in the greenhouse!~Drinks~WaterVirgin drink - the bartender surprised us with virgin mint cucumber mojitos~Food~Corn Flake Crusted French ToastLine BreakfastWe were immediately asked if we wanted water when we sat down. Note: didnt know this until we got the check but IF YOU WANT WATER, YOU WILL BE CHARGED $6!! Just FYI!We spent some time looking over the menu online. When the waiter came (we waited ~15 minutes), we asked what virgin drinks were available (both my sister and I are of age, but we didnt want to be drinking at 10 am in the morning). The waiter initially told us no virgin drinks were available yet (he didnt say what time they would be availablebut he would ask the bartender. He asked the bartender right away and informed us that he can make us some virgin drinks (werent given a selection, it was a "surprise" which was totally fine for us--but if you want a virgin drink in the morning, dont expect it to be available or dont expect to be given a selection).I ordered the "Corn Flake Crusted French Toast" while my sister the "Line Breakfast." The French toast tasted like dessert! Very heavy, flavorful, and crunchy. Would recommend sharing this dish with friends/whoever you are dining with because it is a lot sweet-wise for one person. My sister ordered the Line Breakfast with chicken sausage, but they gave her bacon sausage (she hates bacon). She informed the waiter right away that she actually ordered chicken sausage, and they apologized and brought out the chicken sausage in a separate bowl shortly after. Appreciate that. She said her food was good, nothing special, but good!It started getting very crowded by 11am! Lots of guests by the pool. Food was okay overall, at least what we ordered. 5/5 for the beautiful greenhouse but I cant quite seem to want to give this place a 5/5 overall so 4/5 would do.
Jasmine and Daniel were both amazing and even though one was a trainee She made our experience extra special. Thanks again to our two awesome waiters. Now the atmosphere and the scenery spectacular, with a couple of a breath taking moments I was like how can it get any better. But then quickly our plates with perfect presentation arrived.I just wish I started taking more pictures from the beginningBeautiful place for a couple celebrating ones birthday..Bon appétit
This was my favorite place to go when I first moved to LA. It’s a rooftop, but it’s also a greenhouse. Dining is available inside and outside but nothing beats sitting amongst their greenery in that greenhouse, it’s just a unique vibe. Bring someone here if you want to impress, their meals are perfection and delectable. I’m a breakfast person and I’m never disappointed with my plate. In my photos I’m having the salmon Benedict and crunchy French toast - which make a great pair, savory and something sweet. The presentation of each plate is always flawless and they do have a full bar, with talented bartenders. Their house cocktails are delicious and still pack a punch, so if you’re not eating, you can still enjoy the environment. They do get busy so reservations are suggested!
A reservation is a must for Openaire, definitely the place to be as a brunch spot. The service is the first thing to be highlighted, we had a party of 8 so they split us into two groups and were very accommodating to allow us to shift tables to sit near one another. The food selection was quite good as well: good vegetarian and gluten free options, with tasty egg, meat and breakfast items as well. The bottomless mimosas were a crowd pleaser, and the staff was very alert and helpful to keep everyones glass full. Definitely an enjoyable experience overall, and would recommend to visit. Ask for a spot in the greenhouse if you can, eating surrounded by beautiful green plants is quite a pleasant experience.
Awesome dining experience. Family Style Prix Fixe dinner was totally worth it.
Food was great and a cool vibe to hang around in. Theres a pool as well to use. Food was really delicious... only thing is that the service is not great at all. We waited 40minutes just to get a glad of water, some of the staff was not necessarily the nicest.
Openaire’s atmosphere alone makes the 20-30 minute wait for a table worthwhile.Regardless of whether you’re seated inside or outside, you’ll be surrounded by greenery and sunlight. Incredible, unique atmosphere for a brunch spot.We came at PRIME Instagram-Brunch-Time (11AM on a Sunday), but were seated pretty quickly relative to the amount of people that were there. Service was very friendly and accommodating, and our food was brought out soon after ordering. The food was GREAT. Definitely would recommend giving the French Toast a shot (We ordered it as an appetizer to split between the two of us), and the omelette was a great pair. It was a little expensive, but worth the entire experience IMO.Give Openaire a shot, especially for brunch. You won’t be disappointed!
Trendy restaurant with California cuisine in the Line Hotel. Came here on a Saturday to celebrate a friend’s birthday with two other girls. Made a reservation via Opentable, and there’s a 15 minute grace period if you’re running late. You take the elevator up to the pool and you’ll see the host stand to the left of the entrance. It wasn’t that busy for a 7pm on a Saturday night but it got busier around 8. There’s a long communal table and smaller tables in the covered area, and there was open air seating as well. No one was sitting by the pool when we went. Honestly wish that we went for brunch instead because the hanging plants would’ve looked nicer against the sunshine, but it was still a pretty vibe. The food was good but nothing noteworthy. Our waiter said that it was a family style place and suggested 2-3 dishes per person, which seemed like a lot. We ended up splitting three dishes (a pasta, a vegetable, and a main, and were quite satisfied with that). The cassarece pasta was cooked al dente and I liked how the cherry tomatoes burst when you bite into them. The mushrooms were surprisingly hearty and meaty. The black cod was disappointing to me because it was presented in two tiny slivers - although to his credit, the waiter did warn us it would be small. It tasted like it was a bit undercooked but I liked the black sauce that came with it (it was sweet and thick, while there was also a salsa verde which was fresh but a little oily). There’s valet parking available (includes taxbut we just got dropped off via uber. There’s a single use bathroom on the outside to the right when you exit. Shoutout to our waiter who kept providing water jugs after we lingered after the check was paid, and who came out to take a photo for us when the host that we had asked forgot about our request. Overall I would recommend coming here for brunch for better lighting. The food was good but not special, the service was friendly, and the vibe was laidback trendy.
Went for Thanksgiving set lunch. The food was passable, scallops for appetizers, prime rib entree, pecan pie for dessert. I asked for my prime rib rare which happened (a plus), I didnt ask for my pecan pie stale/semi-refridgerated (a negative). The service was something else...I think management either didnt schedule enough waiters or Im just not familiar with their style.. We were served by no less than five different waiters, I just felt like we were being passed along to whomever wasnt frazzled. I was told the cuisine here was something to look forward to...?
Had the best experience here! Booked a party of 8 to celebrate someone. 10 showed. Staff was so accommodating. Food was amazing. Ambiance is one of the best in LA
I loved pretty much everything, great food, and an amazing waiter, dam I didnt catch his name! 😱 but he was wonderful. Yes its pricey, but soooooooo worth every penny 😉😉 definitely will recommend this place to everyone I know. 👍😘 Ill be back soon lol.
If you’re looking for a cool brunch location this place is my number one recommendation in LA. It’s located in a hotel right next to it’s pool. I don’t know much about the quality of that hotel but this resturant is defiantly my favorite.
Food here is not fusion, but confusion to me. It was lower than the standard for a place like this. The atmosphere was nice without so much crowd. There was an office party and it got too noisy. Menu is not well designed, hard to read in low light. It was disappointing for $60-70 per person.
I want people to come and enjoy this new amazing place! My first experience was now perfect nor incredible because of the long wait and ignorance at the behind of our brunch. However, our server was very friendly later and made it up for us.I am giving five stars because I want to give it another try and I enjoy the vibes so much in this place. It’s a new restaurant so I wish they will get everything in order. And the food quality and service efficiency could be better in the soon future. The location and decoration inside the place was original charm that attracted me to come. The Brunch menu bundle up with the cart food, which we actually enjoyed very much.I am not a fan of the egg Benedict I ordered, the sour taste is not my favorite. But the Bulgogi Hash my boyfriend got was very nice.
Did the 3 course meal for two. Turned out really good. I had their Manhattan as well. It was definitely above average. Would recommend coming here for the charm and the star wars napkins.
Instagram: @koganei037Reason for Coming:New restaurant at the Line Hotel in Ktown that is held inside a greenhouse.First Impression:Located at the Line Hotel in Ktown. It is a green house converted into a restaurant which is located right next to the pool. The decor is really nice, it makes you feel like your eating outdoors with all the plants hanging from everywhere.Food Impression:Avocado Toast had goat cheese, chilies and cures salmon; that was a great toast, very crunchy and flavorful.Cauliflower Tempura with shoyu dipping sauce; fried to a crisp but not oily at all and the dipping sauce is just salty enough.Alcohol Impression:Strawberry Strawberry was an ok drink, nothing fancy, wish it was a bit sweeter or more strawberry flavor.Ash Tree Collins was a spicy drink. It had a kick to it at the end of each sip. Very interesting.Price Impression:Foodwise for what we ordered was just the right price for the quality and quantity.Drinkwise was overpriced for the lack of flavor on the mixed drinks.Overall Impression:It is a nice place to chill out and enjoy some good food. For drinks be aware that their drinks could have been better made for the price I had to pay ($15 each). Its a good place to come and experience at least once.
This place is DELICIOUS!! You go more for flavor than to fill up on food because its pretty pricey! Main dishes are like 25-30 dollars and the appetizers are 15-20ish so I went with my friend to splurge as a self care treat to myself. We shared a bunch of sides 5 and drinks and it was around 50 each plus tip. You can park at the line hotel for 12 with a 3 hour validation from the restaurant. Its ok the second floor of the hotel and it is breathtaking!! Its well worth it and everything was delicious! I wouldnt get the cuddle again it was more like a white soup with bacon bits and asparagus but everything else was delicious!!
Not my favorite brunch place but definitely one of the bests in downtown. The ambiance is really refreshing; their buffet food is very filling. I really like the plant situation hanging from the ceiling. Its like a greenhouse filled with good food and alcohol. One thing though, if you made a reservation, they only hold it for 15 minutes then its gone after. We had to learn this the hard way.Their buffet includes salad, salmon, prime ribs, bacon and sausages, crepes, and a table filled with sweets and pastries (my personal fave area). On top of that, they have made to order entrees - including eggs Benedict (100% must try), congee (I thought this was so random but it was incredibly good), French toast, pancakes, etc. I would say theres something for everyone. The service is just okay. It probably was a busy Sunday but it takes a while for someone to tend to our table for our made to order ones and just generally if we need anything.Overall, it was good. Its definitely on the pricey side. Buffet is $37 per person + $18 for bottomless mimosas. They also have just entrees that are around $15-$20 per plate.
Very peaceful place, polite people and beautiful plants. Its located at the second floor of Hotel (Line). ordered an egg Benedict and really enjoyed it! Espresso coffee was decent too. Ill definitely go there again.
