One Dim Sum - Dim Sum restaurant in Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Food was served very quickly. Once you sat down the staff will ask if you want puโer or jasmine tea.Of the items we ordered, har kow Siew Mai and Teochew dumplings were very good. However the dough fritters were not crispy, char Siew bun was too sweet and spring roll was normal.Halfway through our meal the aircon started leaking and the staff came over to wipe away the water quickly. Then, another guy came to wipe the aircon while we were still seated and eating beneath the aircon. Awful experience. However, they later on explained that they had to wipe quickly or more water will drop. Hence we deducted a star for that
No doubt, the MUST TRY dimsum restaurant..
I went searching for a reasonably priced Michelin star restaurant when I visited Hong Kong and visited this place. Oh my, 3years later its still the best dimsums Ive had and crave for it fondly.I went there alone and the food itself was more than enough company. Thinnest wonton wrappers, perfectly steamed and had 2 full dishes just by myself. Topping it with the mango sticky rice dish was simply superb! Will definitely visit the place next time Im in Hongkong.
In term of value and quality, One Dim Sum is one of the best place to eat dim sum, simple and well executedAlso appreciating their honesty. They phoned to tell me one of the item I ordered was sold out and proposed a different item and I was particularly surprised they would refund me the differenceIt was a small difference but what I really appreciate is their honesty
Very good dimsum regardless of price. The pork is great, it doesnt have the unique raw pork smell and the seasoningbis perfect. You can also feel the quality of chicken is thigh or leg parts which is quite chewy. SO, whatever the dimsum which is either pork or chicken based it is tasty. There is skinny male gentleman who seems like tha manager who is super kind. I went at 8:30 and it was full, but the turn over is fast. Also no Shalongbao.
One of the best place for dim sum. Located near by Flower Market. All dishes are tasty and price is reasonable.
Love this place! Since there is no tourist so the queue didnโt take that long. You can order while you are waiting outside. The price avg. per person is around 60~80hkd. The tea is 6$ per person
Giant Prawn dumpling ่ฆ้ค๏ผPork dumpling ็่ณฃ, very crispy deep fried glutinous rice pork dumplings, turnip cake and steamed shrimp rice roll to come, very content for two of us and luckily donโt have to queue for Saturday morning. The best dim sum in hk, for the price and services, all staff would deliver whatever u ask for cutting, chilli sauce, hot water in timely manner n not rushing u away although the restaurant is getting busy.Thumb up and highly recommended whoever fancy authentic dim sum n hk services, more than a mxxxxx star can describe.
Good solid dim sum place.Nice range of options at a reasonable price. The chilli oil is slightly spicier than other restaurants which is a plus for me.Tea comes in a mug which is frequently refilled.
Even as a relatively low-key dim sum restaurant, ๐ถ๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐ ๐บ๐๐ had once garnered a Michelin star for its reasonably priced dim sum. We decided to pay a visit to its physical store after having some yummy takeaway from the restaurant last time. We ordered 8 kinds of dim sum in total and the serving speed was fast. Although the beef balls were mainly flour, their sizes were like 1.5 times bigger than the ones we usually have. The skin of Har Gow was a bit thick and the shrimp inside was tasteless and mushy. Food wasnt as yummy as we had last time. Nothing stood out to be super tasty. ๐
Great Dim Sum as always. I have been there two times. I waited for around 30 minutes to get seated. Food comes up after a few more minutes. Siu Mai and Pork Buns are a must if you eat pork. There is great Chinese tea to wash down those Dim Sum.
Dim Sum are delicious, good fresh quality and in right portion. Michelin recommended, ready for long queue, certainly worth waiting. Will go back for more!!
During our visit, it just moved to the new place next to the original place a week earlier. We are lucky enough to be able to seat in without waiting in line. Be sure to visit around opening hours, 10am for weekdays and 9am for weekend, if you have further plan afterwards. All dim sum taste delicious and hot from the stove, and the price is inexpensive and quite affordable comparing to other dim sum restaurants in Hong Kong. There is one thing need to mention is that there is one rubber band tied around the boiled Chinese vegetable dish we ordered. The staff replaced it with another one immediately. We do believe that this can be prevented during preparation to keep up the good quality and reputation of this restaurant. Overall, its still a good one for dim sum lovers.
Amazing. The food tastes great and is very reasonably priced.Friendly service. Convenient ordering system. Will be frequenting this establishment!
ahh common!! Long waited Q again, what so special about this place man!! yes worth it every dime of my time and money, Food are tasty the ngauyok dem I had 3 of that, ha gao superb, all excellent, just ignore the loud taking folks and enjoy your meal, once you get your table just order ASAP!!, ah yes not to mention the owner are friendly and just TOMATO sauce upon request, wheres the chilli goes? #laoshu #jalanjalan #redah #unplanned
The food was good. The service was fast. I went after dinner and was seated quickly. The hostess was friendly. The servers verified my order each time to avoid mistakes. The English menu has the order number for each item so that you can match it to the ordering slip. The place mat as well. And lots of pictures and descriptions. The shrimp wontons were good enough to order more. I didnt like the steamed char siu buns, they add preserved sausage to the mix. Otherwise, everything was great. Would go again if in the neighborhood.
The shrimp Har Gao are some of the best I have ever tried in my life. Superb consistency on the wonton, plump shrimp inside. The service was good, the food was fantastic, hot, cheap, fast.Would highly recommend this place to anyone who visits Hong Kong.
A clean and typical place for dim sum. Nothing more or less, just enough for a moment to eat dim sum.The place is closeby the busy Mong Kok, close by the ladies market. We visited in the afternoon, so there was enough open tables. The dim sum dishes are good and pretty straight forward. They are a bit higher priced compared to the more typical places at the street, but still reasonable. We tried all kind of dishes and not one was a disappointment. So definitely a place to try out. Usually Chinese people like to dim sum in the morning, so if you dont want to wait for a table, you can better visit the place in the afternoon.
The place is a must visit. I am nut sure it is worthy of a michelin star, but the food is for sure excellent and amazingly affordable. The menu I poated was on the day I ate there: 20.8.2019 and all was fresh and tasty as it should be.
I was very excited about visiting one dim sum - the reviews were good and the price was right. I was even pleasantly surprised that the menu specifically noted allergens so they could be easily avoided. We ordered several items, and they were good (though not the best weve had in HK). I would have given four stars except that things we ordered specifically because they were shellfish free had shellfish in them. The deep fried glutinous rice pork dumplings were obvious made with shrimp. The pork dumplings also are for some reason, but that is marked on the menu.
Fast no frills testaurant..... Do most of the dim sum well, didnt really like the ้ฆฌไพ็ณ cos it didnt have enough "holes" in it to be fluffy. The pricing is reasonable and service was good by HK standards. :)
It has been a special experience!Be ready to the really delicious food, fast service and cozy atmosphere. There are some rules here:Order in advance while waiting to be seated. As drinks you get only unlimited hot tea. (You may also ask for water.)Pay by cash only! (ATM is a few minutes away)
marvellous! food is delicious, from dumplings to buns and springs rolls. Service is efficient and prices fair. We loved it so much that we visited again on our 3-day trip.
Queues are long, a lot of tourists, not many locals though. Customers order from the menu instead from the traditional push carts. Service was prompt and fast. The food did not impress me and I thought they were average at best.
Words of my girlfriend one of the best dim sum she ever try, the stuff guy in the door was really friendly, they give you the menu so you already order before seat
Good and fast service here. Top notch food as well. โMust-getโs are the custard bun, siew mai and pork ribs. Custard buns are not the โoozing lavaโ kind, but rather a light and fluffy custard filling. Came here for seconds โcuz itโs that good!
One of the latest Michelin 1 star dim sum restaurant. Went in early morning, no queue at all.Tried their char Siew pao, ha kao, and Siew mai. Char Siew pao is tasty and soft. Ha kao ingredient mix with some green vege, quite freshy taste, the Siew mai so so.
Dimsum done to a high level at affordable prices! I had dinner here just before 6pm on a Monday and it was nowhere near as crowded as it was at lunch. The menu was easy to navigate even for those who cant read Chinese. Pictures of the dishes were available and the order chit was in both English and Chinese.Service was friendly and prompt which was a pleasant surprise. Our cups of Chinese tea were always refilled without our asking. The food was excellent! I had 8 dishes between the two of us and each dish was mouth-watering! Portions were generous even for those with a big appetite and the option of adding on more dishes at any time is probably the best way to avoid over-ordering initially.Overall, a great dining experience for anyone who is keen on good, authentic and unpretentious dimsum! Two thumbs up!
It was so crowded and you need to take number for the queue. We have been waiting almost 15 to 20 minutes. The dim sum is quite traditional. We ordered lou mai gai, siu mai, har gao, cheong fun & fuzhuk. Overall taste average and nothing to shout about it.
One din sum, i search it from google and rating is good, around 10 mins wait after ordered. They have english menu for foreigner. Taste is good but not best. Crowed all the time but we dont have to wait in the line, arrived by 4 pm. Tea is all you can drink with 6.-Toilet is ok, not dirty like somewhere else in HK.If you order prawn pls note, itโs frozen one but quality is ok. Total price is not that expensive.
Great dimsum in Hong Kong. The price is reasonable. Dimsum which has shrimp is large and fresh. If you love shrimp,, it is recommended to have lunch or dinner here. The price is about HKD 20 per dish. Hot tea is around HKD 6.I cannot speak Chinese and do not know exactly what they call in English as well so I order it by open google and let the staff sea the picture.
UPDATE Jan 2019: This place has got bigger. Still delicious dim sum and helpful staff. The place looks more franchise-iseyI gotta thank my Hongkie friend for taking me to this place! Great selection of dim sum and a good intro to HK flavours! Hou hou mei
Lovely place with awesome dim sum. Price is average but the food is great. Went non peak hours and got a seat almost immediately. Definitely recommended for anyone visiting the area to check this place out.
This is a must go when you are in Hong Kong. Best tasting dim sum and very reasonably priced. Friendly service too which is rare in Hong Kong if you donโt speak Cantonese. Recommend to have Mango custard roll and sticky rice chicken. But everything else we had were all very good.
Steps for ordering:- Go to the counter and request for seats, after which you will receive ticket no. and ordering form- Fill up your ordering form and pass it back to the counter and wait for your turnExpect to wait up to an hour during peak hour.Service is on the better side as compared to other outlets.Food wise is pretty good standard, but more towards on the blend side of taste. Not stingy with ingredients used.
Polite staff, nice dim sum selection. Allows you to place order in advance. Make sure you order all the dim sum you want. The restaurant does not allow subsequent add on order.
Great food, friendly staff and good service. Note that there is usually a wait and a lot of turnover but despite all that, the staff are friendly, smiling and helpful. If you are a small group, expect to share your table with other people and the service is fast and can be abrupt if you arent used to it being in Hong Kong (where service is normally like this). They will have an English menu with photos - orders are placed before you are seated so make sure you order what you want beforehand cause you probably wont get a chance to add or remove anything afterwards (its to help them stay efficient). Must try the mango pudding dessert! Would definitely be back despite having to wait.
The cheong fun was really thick. Prefer a thinner type. Overall the dim sum was average, nothing stands out. Its a little bland for my taste. Waited close to an hour for this. Wont be back for this for sure. However very friendly wait staffs
This dim sum spot surprised our expectation. All the dishes were delicious and savory. Wait time was reasonable with less than 20 minutes. A must eat if you are in the area.
Its an average place if youre a local but a better place if youre a tourist. Definitely discrimination here and I checked the OpenRice reviews to confirm my suspicions. Wont be coming back here.If you do visit, the food is on par to other average dim sum joints in Hong Kong. Service is prompt. What was hilarious was the boss was walking around with this chicken bun that looked like a Chinese mushroom and only promoting it to tourist. Mind you this was someones order! The place is small too so the upsell was obvious and the better treatment to foriegners apparent.Go if you must but I dont support these type of establishments.
Lineup could be very long. Showed up around 11AM on Sunday and there was already a lineup. You could get a number slip and come back later. I was told the wait would be around an hour but ended up waiting for more than 90 minutes. The food is great but not sure if its worth the lineup.
Waiting for approx 45min, most of the dim sum is quite good, loved the mango custard roll, absolutely must try, bbq pork bun was good as well, the bun is very fluffy. The rest wasnโt very memorable. Price of dim sum is relatively reasonable/cheap as compared to other places in hk. But I was Super disappointed by the steam vermicelli roll with deep fried flour roll, the flour roll was deep fried with a old oil and thus the smell was really bad and thus it tasted really bad, tried one pcs and gave up the whole plate and thus.
Turned up for lunch on a Thursday and waited 20 minutes outside before getting a table. If you like your personal space then this is not the place for you as its very cosy inside. The dim sum was fine, nothing special. Dishes in the below pictures came to HK$180.
Compared to TimHowan or Dintaifung, price in this restaurant is more reasonable. I make sure if you visit here, it would satisfy your need perfectly. Please keep in mind that there is no a coke or sprite.
Great dimsum, hands down one of the best in mongkok area. Recommend the charsiu bao, fried radish cake, prawn dumplings, and bean curd wrapped fried dumplings. The hk chee chong fun and pork dumplings are a bit of a miss.Good price, fast service, fairly clean.
Probably the best Dim Sum which ive ever eaten in my life. food was delivered hot, after a short (but reasonable wait).the restaurant itself is pretty cosy with seating thats a little cramped, but bearable. wait staff are polite and sharp.the location of the restaurant is extremely close by the Prince Edward MTR station, which makes it accessible. however, be prepared to wait for a table during busy periods. even at midnight when i was there, theres still a steady stream of people walking in
Excellent Food, some really classic, local, authentic Hongkongnese Dim Sum. A small restaurant so may be a bit if a wait, minimal english translation. But a relatively straightforward ordering system where you tick options, which are the dishes. Come with 3 or more persons, so you can try more different foods.
TIP: Get to this tiny restaurant early, or expect to wait. Although its meant to open at 1030 (on weekdays), on the day we visited we arrived at 1015, just as the first guests were being seated (including us). By the time wed finished our meal, a significant line had formed outside. This is a wonderful local dim sum restaurant, so if youre looking for an authentic experience, with a wide selection of traditional dishes, at a reasonable price, this is a great option.Besides the standard Chinese paper placemat menu, they also have a reduced menu (with picturescontaining English, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Thai translations. The fresh and tasty dishes come out quickly, which is lucky because it allows them to turn over the 10 (or sotables quickly.
ONE DIM SUM Mongkok. Having heard mixed reviews of the original Tim Ho Wan in Hong Kong I was not going to put myself through the stress of lining up for ever just to get inside for an unknown experience. I happened to find a good alternative nearby called One Dim Sum. It had decent reviews online talking about quality and value. Its located in a residential area, void of tourists so immediately I knew we were on to a good thing. We went close to opening time and were seated straight away. I recommend doing the same as a queue started to form straight after we arrived. The restaurant is small with limited seating and you will have to share if you are on your own. The first top marks I give here are the helpful and cheery staff, also there is no shouting or loud noises even in a small space so you are able to truly enjoy your meal. The menu is so interesting with a number of items Ive never heard of before. We chose some old favourites and some new. Once ordered, tea, sauces and the dim sum come out in quick procession, but not all at once which is great. I hate the feeling of having to quickly stuff my face in order to make some room on the table. I have to say I was quite happy with the flavour and texture of the dim sum here. All were quite good, however I was blown away by the Turnip cake with dry salted meat, and the Steam dumpling in chiu chow style. Often Turnip cakes are so dry and overcooked but this one was super succulent with big chunks of turnip, and a few pieces of meat. Super tasty, I had a moment. The Chi chow dumplings were equally outstanding with so much crunchy water chestnut inside. $16-25HKD per dish ($3-4AUDRating 8.5/10
Efficient queuing, polite staffs! We went for lunch, 30 mins wait was bearable. They gave us the multi-language menu with pics to order while waiting so as soon as we got the table, the food was instantly served! Wow! All the dishes are SUPERB!! The only downside I found was their buns, too much flour compared to fillings.
