Sardinian-influenced dishes in an unfussy, rustic dining room with yellow and blue painted walls.
Always a favourite since I first reviewed it more than 25 years ago. I ate spaghetti Alka bottarga then and I ate it again last night.
Disappointing, given what I had heard about this restaurant.
Good restaurantGood service
Fresh pasta! Great bread, fresh fish. Overall very enjoyable lunch.
Carpaccio was delish. Will definitely be coming back here to try their mains!
I love this restaurant, polite staff. Food is top notch, relaxed and unpretentious vibe but in the same time smart. Will be back soon. Great aucustics.
Been coming here over the years and I’ve always had a delicious meal. Simple and delicious Sardinian food 🤤
Insane food and service … best Italian food I. Belgravia
sweet heavenly meal with my ceramic teachers ❤️ being round the corner from studio pottery london it is so ideal ❤️ the bottarga spaghetti was so special and delicious, i love the spaghetti here, it is shiny rich perfect strands of pasta coated with the salty perfect taste of bottarga ❤️ i love these restaurants the staff are always so sweet and i always have the loveliest times here xthe bitter honey ice cream was so good
Excellent food and service. Pricey but thats Belgravia!
We were lucky enough to catch a reservation for 2 at the last hour and it was the topping to a great day after the Van Goch exhibition. The week old chef calked Antonio and gorgeous waiter called Nello!Loved it xxx
Top quality food 👌 excellent service, we went there for lunch to celebrate a young member of the familys birthday 🎂, everyone enjoyed the lunch.
This is a lovely Sardinian restaurant which is not your average Italian. My husband was delighted (being a fish loverto have the carpaccio di mare followed by spaghetti with grey mullet roe. I had the ravioli which was slightly undercooked around the edges and not very much to it in the sense of flavours, hence only four stars. I unfortunately took ill and had to leave quickly so we couldnt try the desserts. We will definitely return when next in London as this was only a quick visit.
Expected a lot more given the standard of Oliveto. House red wine was very weak, cocktails made in haste and arrabiata tasted like ketchup. Considerably upset with the meal.
Ordered on Deliveroo. The courgette and truffle pasta is ok, but the pesto genovese is overtly bland with no salt or parmagiano added, so no flavor at all. The starters taste ok. Would be better eaten with salt and pepper at hands.
Lazy staff that guy on till all the time using computer I came there few times for delivery order they will keep you waiting for 20 mins atheist after food ready time
Much improved since my last visit and service has gotten a lot more courteous and less abrupt. Fish entrees are the best option although starters and pasta dishes are the high points of the menu.
Upmarket Sardinian restaurant with a good selection of pasta, meat and fish dishes. The buffalo mozzarella cheese wrapped with Sardinian ham is a great starter, but an ambitious portion size. For a lighter opener, choose the the chargrilled mixed vegetables, or go off piste and ask for a plate of porcini mushrooms. Not always available but an amazing taste. For a main, Id recommend the chargrilled yellow fin tuna. Cooked rare, its light, flavoursome and supremely fresh. Two years on, and this is still a firm favourite. So glad to be able to support Mauro and the team.
In these difficult times I would like to support small businesses I love and miss. Olivo Mare is the first restaurant I will return to after this is all over. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is beautiful and not pretentious and the wine is gorgeous. Cannot wait to go back from some lobster ravioli.
Excellent pasta, great service. Not sure why its £9 for a side salad though.. and 12.5% service included is always irritating - let the customer decide!
Everything was amazing! So delicious and now it is a favourite place of our family! Bravo!
Olivo had a lovely environment, which was smart and stylish, but relaxed. The staff were attentive and the service was excellent. The reason that this review does not get five stars is that the food we had, while nice, was not particularly memorable or surprising, and stuck to a fairly narrow range of flavours. For the money, I would have hoped for more. There was also a bit of a wait for food, on an evening which was not at all busy.
Excellent service and food. We came here for a quick meal before the theatre which they were aware of. I had the stuffed squid followed by the Sardinian pasta shells with homemade sausage both were excellent. Service was quick and efficient and we were out in plenty of time for the show. Will be back if in the area again
This is my first time I traveled to London, and I thought I would try some Italian food. I read the reviews, and they were good. The food is good, but we were very disappointed with the service. They seated us and asked if we wanted wine, and I said no. Then the staff ignored us for the rest of our meal, but they were very attentive to the other customers. We noticed that the only difference between us and the other customers is that we didnt order any wine, and we wondered if that is why we didnt get the service the other tables got. They never came back to check on us to see if we were ready to order. I had to raise my hand for their attention. The manager came and took our order. Then, they continued to avoid our table and I had to get their attention again for more bread. I also asked for butter, but the waitress never brought it . At the end of the main course, they never asked if we wanted dessert even though we wanted to order some. The waitress continued to serve the other tables but completely ignored us. So, we had to call her for the bill. We also had to ask her twice to speak to the manager. Finally the manager came, I told him to take the service fee off the receipt because they did not deserve it. I also asked him why they didnt serve us like they should be doing. He didnt bother to explain and kept saying "Im so sorry." I would never come back here and wouldnt recommend anybody to this restaurant. I got so mad that I forgot to take pictures the rest of my foods.
Excellent and delicious food. Found on Google and the reviews were encouraging so sauntered in on a relatively quiet Wednesday dinner. They had a few tables free and our party of four were waved in with a smile. Though in hindsight one would probably be better off reserving a table as this place definitely has a menu that would be popular on Fridays and weekends.Ordered some fabulously prepared stuffed squid calamari which was perfectly done, not a hint of chewyness or being overcooked. This was accompanied by some well seasoned Carpaccio mare or fish sliced a la Carpaccio style. The combination of tuna, swordfish and prawns was elegant and absolutely fresh and clean. For the mains the linguine crab was outstanding and we also tried the lamb leg steaks which were fabulously done, very medium, tender and juicy. Followed with a dessert round of tiramisu and mango gelatos brought to close a nice evening of surprisingly good food. A great find. Bit on the higher side on prices but the food and elegant service justified it well.
Paper table cloth, plastic chairs, rubbery sea food, shells in the white crab linguine, stale bread, M&S quality tiramisu (but nothing betterand for a memorable surprise: a food poisoning! All for a hefty price tag... you decide. I live around the corner from this establishment but will never frequent this corner-cutting diner again.
The restaurant kitchen and front staff were both awesome. meals were spot on and service was helpful and friendly.
Delicious food - I had chicken livers, crab linguini and gelato. And the Sardinian white wine was exceptional.
Just eat here... Seriously... Good sardinian food, good servers and great selection of wines
Unfortunately worst Italian restaurant I have ever seen. Ive ordered most expensive pasta in menu - with frutti di mare, received pastas with some red souce but they forgot add fruit di mare. I tried to catch some waiter and ask but they were avoid as, after half hour they bring a bill with asking!!! Worst experience in 🇬🇧 Avoid them
Just had a great time in this authentic Sardinian restaurant. Great selection of both white and red wines. Proper traditional Sardinian dishes with the true taste and high quality of products, even the water is from Sardinia. You will have some bread on the side including some carasau, a crispy flat bread. Ive been lucky enough to have some maialettu for the special of the day. Their sevadas are the best Ive ever had, you can get myrtle liquor and the coffee is very good.
Great meeting place close to Victoria trains and bus station , service excellent 4 ppl in our group food lovely bit pricey but worth it expensive wine list but sardinian wine selection reasonably priced and good 4 half stars would return
Great food. On the more expensive side and a little crowded seating wise. Very attentive service. All food was fresh and authentic. Great for a romantic date
Very nice staff. Mozarella was a little to cold and the wine was really hot, but otherwise nice restaurant with a good atmosphere
One of our local favorites. Refined but accessible, Olivo is one of Londons go-to Italian restaurants.
Fantastic menu with food and service to match. Great experience, would go again and again.
Really enjoyable and the best Italian cuisine eaten since my trip to Italy. Highly recommend for an entire dining experience: food, wine, and service.
We did not eat any Sardinian food but it is definitely ok the menu and the food is excellent, loved the crab pasta.
Despite having been a regular at Olivos sister restaurant Oliveto for the best part of a decade Id actually never eaten here until recently - Id looked at the menu a few times and never spotted anything vegetarian. Since the recent refurb (which looks very smartI think theyve also updated the menu, and now there were some vegetarian options, which were great. Really exquisite pasta and great seasonal ingredients cooked with real flair and imagination. Loved the asparagus with truffles, and the pappardelle with broad beans.
Excellent food. Great service. Busy & noisy, not a lot of space. All food we (6 peoplegot served was very good.
Ok food, nothing exceptional. I wouldnt rush back in a hurry or go for a special occasion. The ladies toilet was also freezing cold for some odd reason!
Excellent quality food and fairly priced for Belgravia. Menu is quite similar to Olivomare being somewhat seafood-centric but with more meat options. Oddly, the zucchini fritti is a standout item for me as it features in so many London Italian restaurants but few get it this right, being the perfect ratio of chunky courgette to light, crisp batter and well seasoned too. The crab linguini and cod were too salty for my taste, and the tiramisu was almost perfect - excellent texture but not enough coffee. Reading some of the earlier reviews, it seems you cant win at the service game! I thought the waiters were knowledgeable about the menu and attentive in the London way i.e., careful to patrol around tables but not actually approach unless summoned.
Great pizza. Value for money is ok. Very loud inside when busy...not a romantic place. House wine is good. Place does take out too , thats if you live in the area otherwise I would suggest sitting down and eating as pizza can get soggy.
Most recently, the food and service were slightly amiss. For something a bit different, we asked the waiter to help us choose a bottle of one of the special Sardinian wines, but we ended up each being brought a glass of the house red. Perhaps something was lost in translation, though the same cant be said for the veal, which was overdone in any language. Expensive.
too expensive for the food we had and the staff were all the time in our backs so it felt very uncomfortable. it is a pity because we love olivetto and we thought it would be similar but it wasnt. it is not a restaurant that I would recommend.
Great service. I love nougat ice-cream, like mango ice-cream, but I did not like Spaghetti alla Bottarga (the one with grated grey mullet roe).
Nice meal with good Sicilian beer. The menu had a lot of seafood on it, not leaving much choice for seafood haters.
one of my favourite restaurant in London. quite expensive but very good. Excellent Italian cuisine and high quality food.
Excellent food with personalized service. The food is Sardinian so the taste was slightly different from general Italian fare. Fresh Pasta and the appetizers were delicious
Quality Italian food, good service, definitely worth a visit. Calamari starter was amazing. Casual relaxed setting.
