Olivia - Mediterranean restaurant in Isla Mujeres, Mexico
Its a decent price restaurant but we really love it. Authentic and very sensitive taste. And most importantly servers were so sincere and excellent hospitality. Very romantic place for couples but you may want to wear mosquito repellent since its outside dining.
The best restaurant in isla mujeres.Food was delicious.Make sure to get a reservation because it is very busy.
Made a reservation 6 months in advance then they wrote down reservation wrong and didn’t accommodate group when we showed up at correct time. Acknowledged they were wrong but Didn’t apologize or try to accommodate. Do not book here.
Really disappointed in the customer service. Lost our reservation and acknowledged that they wrote down reservation wrong. Offered table in rain. Didn’t apologize or offer accommodation for group of 9 that was I town for bachelorette. Host extremely rude.
Being a vegetatrian and having limited options on the Island such as Aroma, Limon, Isla Burger & Mi Ensalada, this is definitely an addition on the list! Especially for their falafel! It is a must try! Ill return again for more! Their baklava and espresso shot was a great end to the meal for the night! The service was spot on!
We emailed 3 times for a reservation months in advance and finally got a response our third time reaching out. Was really excited to eat here, but they had us down for the wrong reservation time. When we got there at the time we reserved, they told us mistakes happen and they are only human. While we can understand mistakes happen, the way we were treated at the restaurant was so rude. We were offered a table in the pouring rain, and then told a table that had just gotten their entrees would be done soon and we could wait. We werent offered drinks or an apology to address the mistake the restaurant made. While we didnt eat here, we can still review the customer service. The food may be good, but we would not recommend this place due to the service.
Super yummy. High quality food, super nice staff. Definitely recommended!
Best place here in Isla Mujeres, the food is local and fresh the team is more than great, tzatziki, skewers, meatballs to much to mention where a joy to eat.. really a hidden treasure
Cozy, classy, delicious, and a perfect night out--thank you Olivias! Dont miss this Isla gem right off Hidalgo. The owners are perfect hosts and will make sure your experience is amazing. Each dish is prepared with care and yum--make sure to get the homemade hummus, and other dipping add-ons!
Lots of choice and variety, delicious food and great service. Really nice atmosphere and lighting.
Excellent food in quiet place at a price that is unexpected lower than you expect. Try the wine.
We ate at Olivia the last night of our vacation so had a number of meals to compare it to. It was the best meal of the trip.We have picky 14 year old twins and were expecting them to complain about this outing. To our surprise everyone had a greateal. I tried all four dishes and was really pleased with all of them. If youre looking for something off the beaten track with unique flavors and a relaxing atmosphere this is a wonderful choice. Just be aware that they only take cash which was a bit of a hassle. Everyone else takes cards so I was unprepared and had to trek down to the ATM. Other wise it was a great experience.
Every time we stay on Isla Mujeres we visit Olivia’s and have never been disappointed! Service is impeccable, ambiance is chill and the food is outrageously good!
The food was good, loved the unique Mediterranean dishes. The ambiance was spectacular and the staff was great.
What a fantastic surprise! My wife and I found this gem tucked away on a side street in Centro. A coworker recommended Olivias, and are we ever glad we found them! They have off-street dining, a romantic atmosphere, and great Mediterranean cuisine! This place was good enough to warrant a return trip a few days later before we left to go home.We had their Moroccan tapas, Spanikopita, Moroccan stewed fish, and of course the baklava. The second time we had the taziki, and the chicken skewers. All were excellent, I really doubt you could go wrong with anything on the menu!
One of the best Mediterranean restaurants I have ever been to. The food was just incredible and service was great. Everything we ordered was delicious!!! Highly recommend
Really elegant place. Nice & original dishes, very pleasant staff, cool background music. Good vegan options.
Always delicious but try not fill up on tapas. Great atmosphere, especially in the evening. I always order the mixed skewers plate and it’s perfect every time.
At first I felt kind of silly going to a Mediterranean restaurant while on vacation in MX with some of the best Mexican food around but this place came so highly reviewed from a local. We had the Greek sampler, mixed plate and spanakopita for dinner and they were all fabulous. Their espresso martini is delicious and the baklava and chocolate mousse dessert are a can not miss! The patio is so cool and intimate in the back under the trees, it was overall a great night. We look forward to coming back soon !
Staff was really nice and accommodating..we went for dinner with a large group on 10.. needed a reservation!! it was very warm outside and power went out which killed the fans, lights for 30 mins or so. Staff still checked on us, and they brought lots of candles. It was a really unique experience. The garden was beautiful. I had the Greek dip sampler under the apps section..dips and bread were amazing!!! 200-300 in pesos per person, depending on dish
Ate here with my partner last night. Some of the best food we have had in a while. The tatziki was the best we have ever had. We had the pastilla and mixed plate for our mains which were delicious. Shame we have to leave again and cant go again, certainly reccomend eating here.
Great food and service, this is most definitely the best place we ate at in Isla. Highly recommended.
Had dinner last night, Lahm Bi Ajeen And Mixed Grill. The service was pleasant and efficient, however, being of Mediterranean heritage, I was disappointed with the first plate the appetizer, it was delivered with burnt crust they replaced, still the taste was off, we never finished after a taster. The second plate was enjoyable though overcooked but taste was still good. PS never tried other plates on the menu.
Food is very tasty!! Service was great! Nice atmosphere! Focaccia was awesome and had a nice crust. We had mojitos and they were excellent, one of the best Mojitos we have had!
I came to eat here many times with my friends over the past year. We used to love it. But they rised prices again (2nd time in a few monthsand the cheese which was supposed to be feta was replaced by a cheap alternative and they assured us it was feta. I lived months in Greece and I can say for sure it had neither the texture nor the taste of real Feta. So a bit disappointed this time of our experience.
Recommended as "best food on the island" by more than one local. It was Mediterranean food in Mexico, so while everything was really good, I would have been happy with some awesome local cuisine instead. Got the falafel, chicken and beef kabobs, hummus, bobaganoosh, and pita bread. All very good if you want a change from Mexican on the island. Reservations recommended and required at peak times.
Have fond memories of our first visit here in 2012 and got to repeat the same great experience. Cozy, romantic, walled garden with thatched roof canopies setting with a fantastic relaxing music soundtrack from the 80s and 90s. Beautiful greenery and lighting. Everything delicious. Their hummus is to die for. Falafel the best ever. Liked the chicken skewer better than the beef. One appetizer, two drinks, two mains for $53 (1,060 pesosis a lovely deal. Great wait staff also, very sincere. Make reservations in advance. Two seatings a night. One of our favorites on Isla.
Exceptional quality and service. This spot is special and has been a staple of downtown for over a decade. Highly recommend the espresso martini. A++
The food was absolutely delicious. Ate the zukini for starters which was pretty good, the Moroccan Fish was superb! The chicken in olives was very good and so did the Mussaka
I was surprised to find a Mediterranean restaurant in Isla de Mujeres, Mexico, but we did. My wife is super picky and vegetarian, so finding restaurants is difficult. Mediterranean is always my go to as they usually feature vegetarian friendly menu items such as falafel, babaganush, hummus and vegetable dishes. If you dont pay attention, you will pass Olivia. Inside is nice with both outside and inside seating, chill music, and a little incense burning adding a nice aroma. The staff was super-friendly and attentive. I never caught the dudes name, but our waiter, that had ear plugs, was prompt and courteous. He gave us great, friendly service. We ordered the Falafel and Sabich bowls that were delicious and accompanied by plenty of Tzatziki and homemade pita bread. It was delicious. I finished it off with a double espresso. The point where Olivia really went above and beyond was when it was time to pay. They only accept cash, and we did not have enough cash on us thinking we could pay by card . They were willing to let us go to an ATM to fetch the cash, but thankfully another client there allowed us to Zelle them, and they furnished us with the cash to pay. I only wish I had more to tip the staff. I expressed my dismay that I did not have much of a tip, and the staff was still super cool. I am going to reach out to them.Excellent service and delicious meals are my memories of Olivia. Just make sure to bring enough cash.
What a beautiful place with excellent Mediterranean food. Best moussaka! We went today and going back tomorrow. The garden is so charming. Its a must on your list of good places to eat
Gorgeous ambiance. Pretty lights and lots of greenery. Incredible service and amazing food. I’ll dream about the flavors of the chicken and olives dish. Chicken was so juicy and tender it fel off the bone. Shawarma bowl and white bean salad lovely as well. Quick response for reservations request. Fantastic owners!
We are 2 Portuguese friends and we loved this Restaurant, the food, the place but specially we felt really welcomed by Adis, the Venezuelan waitress who took care of us. Thank you for having so great Mediterranean food
Best restaurant in Isla Mujeres. Ambiance is chill, super charming and the service is spectacular. However, the best thing is the food. HIGHLY recommend the shawarma bowl and the chocolate mousse
We had a great dinner in this quaint restaurant in Isla Mujeres. The service was very good and the food was excellent.
Amazing Mediterranean food. Good price and the flavours are good! Also, good cocktails at a good price.
Mediterranean restaurant, great if you need a change, delicious meals, fast and professional service, quiet and relaxing atmosphere, indoor and outdoor seating, no loud music, candles. We had falafel with hummus, moussaka, a shawarma wrap, see pictures. All tasty, the wrap was huge. Recommended if you want to have relaxing dinner.
Food was great and the service was amazing. We sat in the back garden area and it is super cute. We ordered the Moroccan tapas, chicken and olives and the mixed plate. All were very tasty. We would definitely come back.
My favourite restaurant on Isla Mujeres. Everything is delicious, service is great and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It even smells amazing in there.
One of the best restaurants in Quintana Roo. Lovely concept uniting several cultures, offering literally Mediterranean cuisine. Simple ingredients exceptional taste. Keep up the great work. Extraordinary service. Friendly staff (and unfortunately not commen in QR)
Delicious Mediterranean food just off the main drag. Highly recommend for a romantic, relaxing meal away from the Hidalgo Street hustle. Beautiful, peaceful back patio and wonderful menu options. Loved the chicken shwarma and hummus.
Well... I have tried almost every restaurant in el Centro Isla Mujeres, and this Mediterranean place ended up being one of the best on the island. First time there I went for the Moroccan fish and it was phenomenal. So I came back and got the mixed tapas (matbuha, tabule, and babagunushand then the chicken with olives and this might have been even better than the fish. It almost pains me that this is one of the best restaurants on the island since it isn’t Mexican cuisine. Priced well... higher than local spots but less than many places on the main strip... so I guess I’m saying great food and great value.
Really incredible Mediterranean food on the island! I think this was my favorite meal during our stay. The service is very attentive and personal but they gave us enough space to enjoy our company together. We shared all the dishes we ordered and nothing was too heavy. Tons of flavor and such a nice break from so much Mexican food (if there is ever such a thing!)
Fresh, homemade, authentic mediterranean food. Not to missed if you are on Isla Mujeres! So reasonable alot of food for your $ and staff is lovely!
I was lucky enough to have my birthday dinner there this year. The food was absolutely delicious, the ambience of the back patio was so chill and beautiful! Perhaps the best part of the experience was the hospitality of each member of their staff—from our table’s great waitstaff to the owner. Definitely one of the best restaurants on the island!
BEST MEAL WE HAD IN ISLA MUJERESI will be dreaming about the chicken with olives and Moroccan style fish for a long time. This is an amazing Mediterranean restaurant on Isla Mujeres run by a couple of nice Israelis. The restaurant has 2 seatings, 6:30 and 8:30, so be sure to make a reservation if you want to eat here during the busy season. In the back of the restaurant is their beautiful garden where we dined, you feel like you are in your own little world back there. And then the food...WOW. The appetizers we ordered (hummus and tzatzikicame with delicious bread and pita and made the restaurant trip worthwhile alone. But then the entrees...The chicken with olives was braised so well that the chicken literally fell off the bones. Fortunately, it was sitting on a bed of couscous which sopped all the good flavor up. The same can be said for the Moroccan style fish.I’m sure everything else is good here but we are going back again and I want them both again!
This gem of Isla Mujeres is the best Mediterranean restaurant Ive visited, anywhere. The hummus is a must - so good. Try the shepherds salad with a chicken shishlik skewer. So much yum in a relaxed atmosphere. A must-visit each time Im on the island.
Best dinner ambience on the island! The food was tasty and at a decent price. You wont be disappointed coming here.
Excellent Mediterranean restaurant located right off Hidalgo. The menu is a very eclectic mix, of various dishes, from the Mediterranean region. The portions are large, and the food is very fresh. The prices are excellent. for the quality and portion size, the dishes are.The restaurant has a front area and a beautiful garden area outback. I highly recommend reservations, as it is always crowded. We enjoy sharing foods, so this was perfect for us. We shared the Greek Tapas Platter, which was huge. It came with olives, feta cheese, tzatziki, roasted eggplant spread, grilled peppers, a large loaf of parmesean bread, which was to die for. We also split the shepards salad. It was also a large portion of a salad, consisting of, cucumbers, red onion, olives, tomatoes, and a good amount of feta cheese, in a delicious refreshing dressing. It was the perfect meal for a hot night. There was so much food, we even had leftovers, for lunch the next day.The servers were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. It is cash only.I highly recommend Olivias, and we will definitely be returning. A touch of the Mediterranean... right on Isla.
Hands down the best meal of my life. You are absolutely missing out if you dont stop by here while on the island. The shishlik bowl was super filling and satisfactory, the Moroccan fish was great, and the mojitos were to die for. The owners are fantastically friendly and personable which made a great deal of difference. Try to make a reservation in the garden for an even heightened experience.
