I have tried at least 20 restaurants in New Haven and this is by far the worst without doubt. It was around 5pm and there werent many diners. The bartender didnt greet with warmth. I ordered a salad and spaghetti, and they both took a long time to come. I felt offended when the spaghetti came before the salad and there wasnt a spoon with it. I asked for the spoon, and got a cute, little one which obviously was meant for disserts. The meatballs tasted dry. Perhaps they sat in the fridge for a little bit too long. The worst part came when the bartender started to whistle and dance with the music in front of me when I was eating. They earned a star for the salad. That tasted good. But there is no way for me to visit for a second time.

I guess you could say this started with the gentleman who answered the phone. Not friendly! Ask a question and his answer was “nope” and provided no solution…I had to almost beg him to provide bread with my meal order, then he said he would give me olive oil but to butter. My order can with no olive oil, I asked the young lady at the register for butter and she was quick to agree! Thank you! As for the food (nothing special, Chicken Parmanothing about this meal seemed fresh. Tough chicken, sauce taste like it came from a can at best, pasta was too thick and just ok maybe! Perhaps there are Italian Restaurants in New Haven you would be better off trying? Pass on this one!

First time diner. Our waiter was fantastic..helping us decide on cocktails since we usually just drink wine.. (cocktails which were delicious). Then came the food - terrific and a lot of it. I have dinner for tomorrow night! Definitely will be back.

Food and drinks were really good, however there seems to be no air conditioning throughout the entire restaurant. Difficult to enjoy a quality meal when dealing with uncomfortable temperatures.

I am a big fan of salty foods, but my goodness, the salmon/potatoes dish is the most salt I have ever had on a dish in my entire life. It was good food, but the amount of salt made it almost inedible and gave me a headache.Music was loud and boring pop hits, and lighting could’ve been a bit darker, but cocktails were good and service was fine. Overpriced for what you get.Would’ve given a whole extra star if not for the salt!

This is such a cute little restaurant. I apologize for not taking a picture of the front of the restaurant and the menu. Dove right into ordering. Everything from appetizers to pizza was delicious. The calamari was just the right amount of calamari and batter. The roasted cauliflower was *chefs kiss*. The prosciutto pizza was something I’ve never tried before. On the menu while I was reading the ingredients, I thought it would be too salty. To my surprise, the hint of honey taste when you bite into the pizza was tongue twisting. The mixture of flavors, which I didn’t expect, really pulled everything on this pizza pie together. Definitely going back for more.

This was my first time had this restaurant. Im typically not in the New Haven area and it looked like a great spot. The atmosphere is good. I was actually on a date. I never even looked at the menu prices, I ordered a pasta dish. She ordered shrimp scampi. The pasta was way overcooked mush! And cold. The shrimp is way overcooked. Pandemic? Not the regular chef? Regardless, with gratuity which I still gave generously. About $120 and that was with one glass of wine. Do not recommend. Will not return.

Great atmosphere and food. Drinks were very good and everything was well priced. Highly recommend for a nice dinner or date as well. Bar vibe but a lot nicer and not uptight. Almost everything we ordered to eat was delicious and would order again. Menu changes constantly. Only complaint was food took a little long to arrive, other than that had a great experience.

I tried Olives and Oil for the first time after hearing great things about it from multiple people. The cocktails were amazing, everyone in our group tried a different one. We ordered multiple appetizers because we couldnt decide, they all sounded so good. The warm olives and arancini were my favorite. We also tried the brussel sprouts and garlic spread which were also good. For my entree I ordered the shrimp scampi which was delicious. Not a huge portion but definitely enough. My gf ordered the seafood fra diavlo. They brought it out without the calamari in it. We mentioned it to our server and the quickly brought over a heaping plate of it in sauce. Overall it was a great experience Id go back and try other items. Definitely not an inexpensive meal if thats what your looking for.

Food was very poor. I had spaghetti and meatballs and I swear the spaghetti is from the can. Sauce had very little flavor. Meatballs where ok. Waitress didnt know they had wifi told me no, until she saw it on my phone and when someone in my party didnt like the way there Lettuce looked, she said thats all we have. Again she was wrong. Something I learned is when the tip is billed right in at a Restaurant. You should Definitely think Twice.

Went here for brunch as most of the people locally have mixed feelings about the location. Drinks are excellent, and the drinks and brunch mimosas are worth a try if you are here in the morning! Although the drinks were great, the food needs a major upgrade. The steak and eggs may be a but dry, and alot of the other dishes like the breakfast risotto seem to lack salt or much seasoning. I recommend coming for morning coffee or drinks, as the servers are really attentive and will go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable!

The food was downright terrible. My shrimp and calamari pasta was completely missing calamari and my coworker only had one piece. When I told the manager he said the chef put a few in, but obviously he didnt otherwise there would be no reason to complain. Instead of giving us calamari on the side he gave us four pieces of shrimp as a substitute. That shrimp was the saltiest piece of food Ive ever had the misfortune of eating. Its like they pulled the shrimp right out of the ocean and placed it directly onto a plate. The manager didnt comp our food, but gave us a discount instead. For a $28 dollar plate, Im very disappointed. The manager didnt seem to care either. Please dont come, save your money and thank me later.

We enjoyed the strawberry salad. The chicken Parmesan was okay. The chicken didn’t really have much flavor, but the spaghetti was delicious. The rigatoni in al a vodka sauce was also delicious, but didn’t care for the bits of sausage in it.

First time I went. My wife and I had a very pleasant time. Our waiter, Manny, was extremely well prepared to Answer all our questions about the various drinks we had and which drinks would be better suited for our particular taste. The food was excellent quality and the presentation was on the spot. Great place.

Olives has been our place since it has opened. Their Arancini is and continues to be the best I’ve had. Our waiter is always fantastic. However, the menu appears to shrink every time we visit. What is offered is consistently delicious. I just wish their were new items to try.

This restaurant has really good homemade pasta! Below is the goat cheese carbonara and the Cacio e Pepe pasta. Both were very good but the Cacio dish was very peppery and a bit spicy. I would definitely come back here again especially to try their pizza. I didnt have any this trip but it looked super yummy as a server walked by with a tray for the table next to us.

I know you are supposed to get pasta at an Italian spot, however I went "healthy" at a business dinner and ordered the veggies as appetizers: cauliflower, beets, and broccoli. All three were perfectly cooked and seasoned well. My colleague had the parmesan chicken, and his opinion of it was that it should of been pounded out more (flattened). My other colleague had the old and new school meatballs. I had the half roast chicken, which I highly recommend amongst the dishes we had, not only did it present well, it smelled and tasted great - very big portions.

This is officially my new favorite restaurant! It started off with bread and olives and oil (obviously)...Amazing! Then the Fritto Misto came out... FUHGEDDABOUDIT! (crispy fried calamari, shrimp, cherry peppers and lemon)...Amazing! Then my lady and I ordered a pizza pie of course i.e. Burrata Pie (tomato jam, basil pesto and truffle salt)...Amazing! Staff was great. Music was great. Decor was rich. Chef is top-notch. I felt like I walked into a bit of the roaring 20s...Amazing!Not to mention I was feeling a bit under the weather, but a nice cup of their classic hot toddy (whiskey, honey, lemon juice, orange rind and hot waterdefinitely did the trick.Cant wait to go back. Highly recommend. This is my spot :-)

Everything was delicious, brick oven pizza was done right, crispy crust, not too many toppings. Red sauce was flavorful and not too acidic either. Good meatballs and the clams were pretty good too. Never refilled my Diet Coke, but not enough of a knock to lose a star.

I took a pasta making class here on Saturday with two of my girlfriends and it was the best $55 Ive spent in a long time. I wish I could give this 10 stars. We signed up through air bnb having not much idea of what to expect and left with with bellys full of delicous pasta and hearts full of inspiration. The class consisted of just the threw of us and Chef John Dough was extremely patient and passionate about his work. We made three varieties of pasta and then JD prepared them in different ways for us to eat and paired them with wine. Everyone in the restuarant was friendly and kind from the second we walked in. I will definetly be back for dinner the next time Im in New Haven and recommend to anyone looking for an authentic, upbeat Italian meal. Ps. Dont leave without trying the meatballs!

This place is totally worth the hype and you should go.First off, our waiter (Manny), was the best! He was so nice and funny and gave great recommendations on the food and drink. He made a great night even better! The drinks here were pretty good. Interestingly, all the wines by the glass are on tap. I tried a wine flight and they tasted pretty good. Nice wine selection overall.Of course, we had to try the Notorious P.I.G cocktail - come with a little plastic pig 🙂 Its a little on the sweet side but dont be fooled, theres plenty of alcohol in it.For appetizers (we were a big group). We tried quite a few things. The meat and cheese platter is definitely big enough for at least 4 people, and was very good. The fried seafood app (miso frito?was very good too - everything was crispy and not oily in the least. It was big - you could probably split that among 3-4 people. The roasted cauliflower was also excellent, as was the broccolini. It was all delicious and portion sizes for all the apps were definitely made to be shared. For my main I got the meatball sampler with polenta. Hands down, the old fashioned meatball was the best! They were all good though. And the polenta was heavenly. My husband got the pasta pomodoro - that was really tasty too.Overall a great night. Only complaint, probably due to being seated at the front, near the door, and by a big window, was that we were all freezing. But Ill still go back 🙂

It was very good food the pasta primavera was delicious, the fresh pasta was excellent . The bruschetta was tasty with the bread being toasted on the grill . The margarita pizza with the drizzle of balsamic on it was amazing . I love the wine flights !!! The espresso martinis for dessert along with the tiramisu and the oreo cannoli was decadent. Thank u for making our friends birthday amazing .

What we ordered was delicious, however, gluten free options were disappointing - no gf bread for dipping or pasta or meatballs. Gf options were mainly salads, steak and some apps. That being said, I expected my green salad to be rather boring and it was anything but. The olives and dressing made me almost forget that it was a salad!

This is a great choice for bites and drinks with friends. The atmosphere is very hip, and their playlist is very good. Loved it. The server we got was very good as well. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is that their portions are quite small. Wish I had gotten a little more food. However, the food I did get was very good and delicious. Amazing flavors. Will probably come back.

Definitely come to Happy Hour! $4 dollar draft and wines! I came here with some friends on a Friday night to get a few drinks and a snack before we went for more drinks. The meatball and polenta was a killer at the table, everyone loved it. The fried cheese curds were a bit tough and not as melted as I loved. The mozzarella plate was nice, sweet tomatoes and creamy mozzarella. Along with the fresh warm bread that’s complimentary, it’s a winning combo. However, we did have to wait for 20 mins at our table before anyone even came over to even ask us if we wanted a drink.
