Oliver's Tearoom in Dickens Sweets & British Museum - Museum in Chilliwack, Canada
Love Dickens for all my cookie decorating needs and the British treats are amazing
Great got british goods
Love coming in to dickens. Love the tea selection as well as sweets.
We were there at a Saturday afternoon being told not much food left on the menu. I do not know is this often happening in a busy afternoon or not ?? But still a Lovely tea house, yummy food and friendly staffs. Different experience in Canada to taste British food and a lot vintage items in their museum. Reservations needed if you want to have their high tea.
Fantastic high tea for a great price. Lots of great tea selections to buy! Friendly service!
The food was great and the atmosphere was soo cute 😍!!
Has undergone some major changes during Covid. Tea room has moved. Seems smaller. Generous offering of sandwiches and pastries but some of the fillings were thin. Flavourful. Friendly staff. The museum is now closed but they have an eclectic collection of tea cups and pots. There is now a new room for tea sales. Clean. Continue to support Covid safety protocols with hand sanitizer available. Tables well spaced.
Selection was not as big as I was hoping for, but did manage to find a couple of ball caps. Didn’t get an overly friendly vibe from the staff, not sure if I’d return or encourage others to shop there, unfortunate as I would have liked to.
Great tea service. Nice convivial people.
This place used to be amazing but since covid and the closure of their original tea room it has gone downhill. Went there for st Patricks day and had their grand guinness lunch. Awful! Would not recommend. It tastes old and stale and from a can. There were kids at the table behind screaming and crying, the atmosphere was like you were in a closet. Wish I went somewhere else.
Everything British, bakery, museum, cake decorating supplies lots of British goodies.
I love shopping at dickens! It’s always a treat to get to pick up some cool baking supplies, a fun gift for a friend, a bag of sweets for my own sweet tooth, a ginger beer and a teapot all in one run! ❤️ haven’t been able to try the high tea yet, hopefully soon. I just wish they were open later they always close at 4 so I don’t get in much due to work.
I was so pleasantly surprised by this place! Theres tons of baking and decorating supplies and all sorts of imported food. The museum had so much to look at and my toddler enjoyed looking through the books. Unfortunately the tea room was closed but we will be back!
I came here 3 to 4 times and each time, there were very helpful staff as well as lots to see. If you ever were in the area, you HAVE to stop there.
This is one of the excuses for us to go to Abbotsford which is more than an hours drive on the freeway. The adjoining shop has a room with a great selection of teas and a room full of sweets make this a great place for adults and kids.
Lots of fun stuff in the the shop. The bakery is great too, with a good selection of gluten free options. The staff is always so friendly and helpful!
A little expensive, but has just about everything you can possibly imagine for cake making/decorating. Definitely a one stop shop.
Went this past Saturday with my daughter to enjoy High Tea. It was amazing and beyond delicious!!! Our server Jessica was the best! (she deserves a raise or at least a paid day off or two: We will be going again and this time well take the men...lol
Best place to go for loose leaf tea and fresh baked goods in the bakery. Everything British you could ask for. Also pretty cool, they have any cake pan you could ever imagine- for rent!
I love this place its amazing when I lived in chilliwack I loved coming here and when I visit I try to come here when I can ♡ its really great atmosphere, the food and goods are very reasonably priced and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable I always learn something new about England when I there and I always have a lot of fun, try the high tea for sure as most high teas in vancouver and stuff are like 30- 40 $ per person so for 13-15$ person its a steal and leaves you with money to buy pastries teas and uk sweets afterwards ♡ they also always have special high teas and meals each month so theres always something new to eat there ♡
Great place fun to take our grandkids so much to see & the food is excellent.
We always enjoy our trips to Dickens whether its for high tea, Santa visits or some British candy/groceries!
Shop-within-a-shop sort of shop. Its full of delightful things to see, buy, and eat. We went for the first time today and had their regular high tea. Service was great. The baked items and scone was excellent, however the tea was not flavorful enough for our liking. We would most definitely visit again to try other food selections.
Great atmosphere and ladies working there. Lots of fun lots of smiles.
its great there, its just little inconsistent with the menu, sometimes they have everything, sometimes they are out, its always a gamble
Excellent place for a morning breakfast and tea. Very neat little shop with all kinds of English knickknacks. Waitress was especially helpful and courteous. Highly recommend.
Always a nice change from other traditional restaurants. Service is consistently top notch and everything is ALWAYS fresh. Yorkshire tea and scones....yum
This is a great place with a strong British emphasis. The staff is friendly the Brit style food is very good and the museum on site is a must see. My family held a wedding reception here and I have no hesitation to recommend them and their services.
Definitely worth the visit. High Tea and lunch were delicious. Super friendly staff and a very unique collection of memorabilia. Spent a long time wandering through the museum, shop, and candy store.
Nice little place for a lunch and tea. Very kind and generous staff. Fun to look around at all their collectibles and all the things they have for sale in their shop: Candy room, tea, Bakery, cake pan rental and a list too long to include. Dont forget the Christmas village with Santa every year.
A absolutely love this place! Cant wait to go back, again and again! Tea and tastes of England, so yummy!
We went there a few months back. The service was very bad. 3 employees working and we had a hard time getting our order taken. We spilled a drink by accident and was unable to flag a worker down to get some napkins so I had to sit there with wet pants till we left.
There. Is. So. Much. To. See.AND theres lovely dine in food service available if you fancy some high tea or classic British far. A must visit for any tourist or for those just feeling nostalgic for all things British. You definitely wont be disappointed.
High tea hot spot. Such great service. The extras around the store make for a great experience
Cozy clean and comfortable. Great service with a varied menu. Lots too look at.Great staff with pleasant attitude.
Has an awesome time here having tea and English lunch and sweets. Service was great. After finding out about my birthday, they did something sprcial. Excellent experience.
Great service and a really nice High Tea in a fun, very homage to all that is British setting. They have more to the menu than High Tea for those who want something else and a cute little bakery where you can get British sweets and savories to go.
Initially I felt like I was in someones grandmas house with all the random stuff on the walls then again I assume thats what someones grandmas house would be like in England. I had the meat pie and was surprised how small it was, personally I could have eaten three. It was a pretty good meat pie but then again i dont think I remember the last time I had meat pie. I was surprised when i got the bill because it was 40$ for the 3 of us to have tea and some snacks.
Such a cool place! I didnt stay for tea, but I will have to come back now, so much to look at, and lots to do here!
Excellent Authentic English food. Great place to visit and enjoy an afternoon tea and scones.
Skip the high tea. Very disappointing. Standard frozen supermarket hors doeuvres. sandwiches with almost non-existent filling. Tea was weak and we had to keep asking for refills, extra tea bag.The museum and shops however were wonderful. I highly recommend them. Instead of high tea, I wish we had purchased our favourite British grocery and bakery treats and had a picnic.
Very nice tea. Not my idea of a High Tea,but nice. Loved all the cases with bits and bobs in them.
Very disappointed at the high tea experience here! There were 4 of us, celebrating a birthday so we asked for the best high tea. Turns out there werent even 4 available, one would have to have a lesser one. The promised fancy dishes were not that fancy, and the waitress kept coming back and taking things off the table. So much for the experience and atmosphere. Had to ask and re ask for a second pot of tea, and was given the bums rush to get us out of there and table cleared. There were two severe allergies at the table and yet savory pastries with allergy containing items were served!!! :c( The sandwiches had such a small amount between them. Just so overall disappointing, and we had looked forward to the celebration event. Too bad.
Wow! Lots of British history in a small building. It was awesome to see all the history. You could easily spend a lot of time there. We decided not to stick around for tea but it sounded really good. And, of course, the English chocolate!! Way better than North American chocolate!
Everything is delicious here, and the tea us fabulous. I highly recommend them as place for lunch, high tea, or late breakfast.
Disappointed the Taste Of Britain has changed. We missed the petit fours. The hordeuvres were not quite as nice as before, but we still enjoyed the meal and the scone with cream and jam was nice to try. Very filling.
Store, bakery, tea room, museum, am I missing anything? My Oma and my Aunt frequent this establishment and I had the pleasure to take Oma to lunch here the other day. Serving staff was great, super friendly. Food was prepared quickly and was delicious. I did find the serving size to be a bit small (propably are actually correct serving sizes), but not bothered by it. Seriously though, how many places can you go for lunch, then get to look at cars, watch a train set, and look at shelves upon shelves of British paraphernalia? Paid the bill and left a fat tip because how great my experience was. 6 stars! Next time Im back in Chilliwack, I know where to get lunch and tea!
Always a treat. This one of a kind tearoom is one of my favourite stops the I am out in Chilliwack. The high tea is a wonderful way to spend the afternoon with a friend. Also, picking up some stuff to take home from the bakery on the way out the door is a great move. The cornish pasties and chicken pot pie are amazing.
An odd little slice of England with a quirky, nostalgic feel. The food is moderately priced and tasty. A nice little treat instead of the usual outings. Plus, check out their shop and museum .
Loved it here!! Great music selection and yummy pies...not to mention all the fun memorabilia!! Definitely worth coming by if anyone has ever lived in the U.K.! You can spend hours in here 😍😍
