Olive Press Museum Zante in Pyrgos

Go here for olive oil tasting! They have great products and you get to learn a little bit about the which presses they have used in history. However its entertainment value as a sightseeing point is not that high.Regardless of that, its free, they have excellent olive oils. We brought home 2 big jugs of garlic oil and a batch of their olives, super yummy!!!

Awesome place, free entrance, friendly people. If you have a chance to go dont miss it, because they have great quality olive oil and olives which you can taste for free.

What a lovely interesting little place. We took a ride up on the quad bikes and was amazed at the scenery whilst getting here, Through the groves and twisting roads. The museum is small but tells the entire history of ancient to present day olive pressing. Taste all olives and oils by dipping bread, sample and taste all you like. Its a lovely quaint visit and worth a visit. Purchase oil paste and olives. Im glad I went to see this, was great.

Had a nice explanation about olives, the pressing of it and the differences between oils. Was allowed to taste multiple oils and also bought some nice oils for at home!

I would say its just an attraction for tourists to spend their money with a vary vague story and there is not really much to see. Obviously there is a shop with olive oil and other olives products tasting which is quite nice and lures tourists to buy stuff. Fortunately Im glad to support local businesses because without them there wouldnt be much to see!

It was very informative about how the olives are pressed and what they use the product for. It is free to enter.

As an olive oil lover the museum was very interesting. Its a very cool way of repurposing the factory during the months when oil production is halted, right before the autumn press. The staff is also very helpful and the free oil tasting is some of the best way to know whats the olive oil variety you like the most.

Was a pleasant experience for us, was nice to see old machines that were used before and how the olive oil is done now, also the tasting part is delicious, especially the olive oil with chilli ❤️

A place where excellent olive oil is made from olives. it is possible to buy different types of olive oil, including flavored ones. It is also connected with tasting. Inside the building is a shop and an oil production facility. Outside is a display of old technology showing the history of production.

The museum part was mildly interesting, there is a nice timeline how equipment improved. The olive oil tasing inside was a pleasant surprise, one of the staff was patiently explaining where the various oils are from and what are the differnces between them.

We didnt plan this as a program but found it by chance while driving around and saw the ads by the street. It is a small museum for free and they offer tasting different olive oils and paste, you can test their olive hand creams. The staff is friendly and informative. You dont have to buy anything but we felt that its worth buying the paste and supporting their business 😊 I would recommend this as a small stop.

Lovely experience, free entrance and friendly staff. Can try some olives and olive oil for free. You can buy quite big selection of olive oils etc but its more expensive than buying same thing in local supermarkets.

We liked the olive oil production process explained and the few old olice oil producing machines on display, also we appreciated the offer to buy the local goods, but unfortunately we later realised that even in local stores in Argassi they can be bought cheaper

A great little place to vosit if you find yourself in Zakintos. You can also taste their products and buy them if you wish so. A great experience altogether

Free entrance, stopped here in an organized tour. Really nice to see, friendly personnel and the products are from good quality!

Its OK, most of the exhibits are outside in the heat so we didnt really look at them. They have free tasting of the olive oil but we didnt buy anything, I think the oil from the locals is a better shout

You can see how oil was and is made traditionally. Fantastic oil tasting area and a nice gift shop with good prices. The orange infused oil and garlic infused oils are the best in my opinion.

Very nice and high quality museum! The ability to taste their olive oil, and pick a bottle was amazing!! All kinds of varieties! A very informative video was shown of the whole process as well.

Unless you e hired a car or quad the best way to get here is on one of the train tours. Interesting and some fantastic locally produced products

Great little stop to put a curiosity to rest...."how do they make olive oil?" Google couldve done it but this was far better and I got to taste some amazing oils. Google cant do that.

Itd a pretty neat place to see and learn how olive oil is made, right from harvesting to bottling. They sell some pretty unique lotions and body creams 100 natural from olive oil as well.

This is only a small museum but worth the visit. The staff are really friendly and talk to you about the history of the olives. No entrance fee, plenty of parking good priced gifts to take back home with you.

Pretty small Museum. The ancient Machines are Outside of the Hall. Inside the Hall you cant See a lot. Its more tasting and selling Olive oil, cream and Oliver. Still worth to Pass by for 30min.

Very informative place ,got the train from kalamaki which was fun and was rewarded with bread and olive oil tasters and with a glass of local wine..great team of people there too..recommended!

Had a lovely visit to the Olive Press Museum Zante. Staff were lovely, toilets were clean and the museum and factory were interesting. Theres no charge but Id be surprised if anyone left without buying some olive oil, which you can sample before purchase.

Definitely worth seeing if you have a car. Doesnt take too long to visit. Small range of free samples to have with bread. A small video played with English subtitles on the olive oil creation process. Prices are reasonable also if you wanted to buy something - there is no pressure to do this.

The best of the best, the people here are so friendly and they genuinely give you a tour and explanation of how they produce their olive oil. They give out testers and you get the chance to taste Greece!Spend about 40 minutes and explored the chronological order of the olive oil making machinery!Will revisit again when in Zakynthos!!!

Brilliant place for a quick stop whilst in Zante. Regular tours showing you through the production process and history around olive oil on the island including a free tasting session at the end. Very friendly staff and all In all a good little experience.

Nice olive factory, not a big place, you can spend 30 minutes here, look at the small exhibition, have a free tasting (really nice oils, many different types), look at the machines, do some shopping. The prices are okay, cheaper than in the tourist shops, but more expensive than in a supermarket.There is a toilet on site and many parking places. The staff is nice and helpful, explains a lot about the products.

Very nice museum, there are aromatic plants used in oils and condiments outside the press, and a line of old oil presses along the building. You can taste aromatic oils inside and buy oil from 2.5 euro upward.

a good place to know about the olives of zakynthos. they share good information on the history of olives on the island also the latest technology of extravirgine olive oil extraction. tasting also available. their local olove oil should be a good souvenir for healthy food lover.

Interesting museum about olive oil. Completely free tour and good chance to buy some olive oil and olive oil cosmetics. You should try the olive oil with garlic - my favourite!

Very nice museum. Outside you can see the evolution of olive oil press equipment, inside you can see a modern oil press line for production. You can taste the different kinds of oils, try the creams and body milks. Very insightful explanation by the guide. Completely free. You can buy their products here: virgin oil from the old trees, bio virgin oil, oil with lemon, garlic and orange, creams and body milk, soaps. Nice experience if you are in the area.

Very nice place, where you can walk along with the history of olive oil making. After that you enter the building, where the oil is actually made form October till February. In the end you can taste and buy some great oil. Really worth to visit.
