Lively, family-friendly chain featuring Italian standards such as pastas & salads, with a full bar.
absolutely the worst experience i have ever experienced at this location, typically have on top of it waitresses/waiters. tried blaming it on it was super busy but table right next to us got visited multiple times while we were not asked if we wanted refills if we wanted more soup. I got my refill right as i was done with my meal so it didn’t matter anymore. our waitress checked on us three times the entire duration of the meal. food was not good at all, my kid didn’t want to eat their food so we ended up going and getting mcdonald’s. very dissatisfied with how we were serviced tonight when i have had stellar service multiple times before
The food is no longer freshly prepared on site. You can tell its prepared someplace else and just heated up. Very confident wait staff.
The lady behind the bar she was amazing. Super friendly, took care of me and nice.
This place has been at the same location forever and if you know anything about OG you know that their menu has not changed almost at all since they started, prices for a plate of pasta with semi ok sauce and meet that is decent at the very best have gone up almost a 100% in the past 5 years or so.There are plenty of other places on 28th ST with better food at a lower price and places that are at the same price level for much better food. A number of old chain restaurants on 28th have disappeared recently because they kept changing only their pricing and nothing else.
Food was fine, once we got it. Had to ask for our server multiple times.
Food great and Service was Awesome! Loved it! Great time with my sisters!
I havent been here in a number of years. Nothing much has changed. Im not all that fond of the computer pay thingys but Different times.
Salad was the only thing decent. You could of pounded a nail with the bread sticks. Service was good which you dont see very often.
Ordered online soup, salad and bread sticks for four. Checked in when I got there and they brought it right out to my car with a smile and a great demeanor.
We had an excellent meal with excellent service. My salmon was under cooked, our server took it, had the kitchen remake, and removed it from bill, all while keeping us in drinks and breadsticks. Always a great experience here.
Missy served us a delicious dinner here today, from the soup, salad, and breadsticks, to the main entrees and then dessert. Coffee was served along with a container of more hot coffee so I was never waiting to fill my cup, I loved that! Missy came to our table often to make sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal, she is so friendly too, a real asset to your restaurant!
Great service by Isiah. Everything was great except the chicken Parmessan, no salt and no flavor at all . Probably cause Im Latina and I like spices in food. We had a great time as a Family
Stuffed shells need to have meat mix inside not put on top. Didnt have much flavor or sauce. The soup was very good and the bread sticks. My wifes stuffed shells are amazing dont know why I even tried them here.
The food was good, but nothing special, friendly staff, good service.
Went the other day and the food was just disappointing. Its been a few months since Ive been but it didnt taste like normal. And there was a piece of plastic/garbage in my salad. They gave us a free dessert but it still was gross
My curbside wait, after I arrived, was over 50 minutes. Had I known that, I would have just sat inside. I wish they had told me.
The atmosphere and staff were great. The chicken masala not so much, the chicken texture was rubbery. The noodles were good. The drink was yummy too! Will be back, just wont get anything with chicken in it again.
It seemed odd that we had to wait to be seated even though it was mid-afternoon and there were many empty tables. Staff shortage? Once we were seated it was the usual OG experience.
Waited 15 minutes to be seated another 10 after and our server never acknowledged us. We tried to get other staff attention and they too didnt have time...we decided to leave.
We were almost done with dinner before we got any breadsticks…no cheese was added to the meals. Waitress was more worried about the table next to us…had to ask for more water and drinks. It was our grand daughters birthday and she ask for chicken on the side it came out with sauce all by over it. Waitress was mad because we sent it back. It came back with the chicken wet and cold so it was rinsed off and sent back on another plate. She did not eat it!!! Very disappointed will not return!
Came in today for lunch and everything was wonderful! Couldnt have asked for better service from Missy. Manager stopped by to check on us also while we were eating. Thankyou for a great experience!
Our waitress was on top of her service. The food was great, and the staff helped with whatever we needed. There was no waiting around.
Busy place with a good atmosphere. Its a fun experience to go to an olive garden and have bread sticks soup and a nice meal!
Took my family for lunch..we all ate from the lunch menu, ordered bottled Root beer and played the card matching game on the table tablet until the boys started arguing over whos turn it was🤦🏾♀️ anyway, I fed us all for under $50!!! Luckily I found a winning scratch off by my car that covered the bill... SCORE!
Soup was cold. Only 3 olives in salad & sparse dressing. Had not been here for over a year since last experience last time. Tried again.
Every time I want to start a diet, I end up here. If you watch closely, youll find entrees to fit.
In times like these, where and how you spend your money is incredibly important. You have to be more selective with your discretionary spending when facing inflationary pressures; what I value most in determining my "bang for the buck" is service, friendliness and genuine interaction. When visiting the Olive Garden today on my lunch, I was greeted by Beth (fantastic server by the wayand the restaurant manager (really great guy). The food was fantastic, as always, and I really felt like "family" when eating there today! I got to know some staff members, and it was just an overall great time. I feel that service is hit or miss when you eat out - pay more money for food and get worse service. But the staff at Olive Garden are the real deal and will make you feel like you had the best day all week. :)
This restaurant was busy for a lunch we had a small wait. Our server was very slow, forgetful, and not very friendly. The food was great and was a very clean atmosphere.
We took our elderly in- laws with us and they were so sweet and accommodating. They help with my FIL who has trouble walking and were very patient with my MIL with dementia. Thank you Olive Garden!
OG seems to be our comfort spot. There is always something everyone likes. This location has a pretty quick kitchen and a friendly white staff. I don’t think we have ever waited very long for a table either. One time, our daughter went there with her friends and had a little problem, overcharged for some items if I remember correctly. A quick call to the manager(sorry I don’t remember the nametook care of it to our satisfaction.
Its olive garden.. the food quality is just the same as I remember. Though I could tell they were short staffed by looking around (including the hiring sign).. the service wasnt lacking. We were told the wait would be 45min-1hr it was only like 25min.
Would be nice to see the menu updated. Havent been in years, and was surprised to see that the menu exactly the same. Reminds me of an Italian version of Cracker Barrel. Service was okay.
We had a birthday party at the Grand Rapids 28th street location. Our server was amazing and very accommodating for our event! Highly recommend this location!
Olive Garden in Kentwood has always been on of my "go to" restaurants. However, my last trip there left a bad taste in my mouth. 30 minute wait to be seated is normal. But waiting 35 minutes for someone to greet us AFTER being seated is crazy...especially since we turned on the service needed light and still several people walked by. Then they forgot my sauce. When I said you forgot the sauce...the manager basically said he was not going to bring it to me because it was extras ( I understood that when I ordered). I have had better luck at Carrabbas in Grandville.
Olive Garden has always been a favorite dining destination. I now need to change my estimation of this restaurant. I went with my family the Saturday before Mothers day. We arrived at 3:00 pm; well before the dinner crowd. The service was horrible. We ordered an appetizer and didnt get utensils. We had to go to the hostess station to get them. I ordered Chicken Gnocchi soup. After searching, during my course, I came across one piece of chicken and one dumpling. I ordered the cheese ravioli and it was tough to cut with a fork. Sorry my favorite restaurant has sunk so low.
Food was pretty good, it’s an Olive Garden. Service was excellent, our server Josh was polite, fast, and a problem solver. My dinner was supposed to come with garlic Parmesan broccoli and the kitchen gave me uncooked plain broccoli, he got it corrected immediately and convinced the manager to take the whole thing off our bill. Josh: five stars. Olive Garden on 28th street: three stars.
Once again, olive garden provided a delightful dinner for us. My wife wanted to go there since they have a good gluten free menu. So while she enjoyed a pasta dinner, I consumed soup and salad with a few bread sticks. The wait staff was very accommodating, even humorous. We have missed enjoying a meal that way since covid began. It felt good.We returned for another special meal. Again, the wait staff, the food, and the atmosphere were all supportive of a great dining experience.
My wife and I had dinner tonight 30 April 2022 at Olive Garden. The restaurant was very busy part to it being a prom night. Our server was super busy and you could see it in her face that she was stressed. The busyness of serving a packed restaurant with a line waiting for tables out the door on a chilly, windy, rainy evening wasn’t enough, we later found out the kitchen was so short staffed the service staff was helping them out as they could. With all this going on our server was was exceptional. Above my high expectations on service. I could see she was extremely busy but I felt like her first priority was us. My only disappointment is I can’t have her as our server every time. Kayla M. Is amazing.PS food was excellent too.
Needs new flooring, so worn.Staff was friendly, service was quick, soups seemed a bit bland from what I remember.
By far the worst Olive Garden I’ve been to, I went to dine in with my husband, the only good part was our server who was a long haired brunette but other then that the whole experience was terrible! The first thing you see when you walk in is hosts just standing around on their phones! Several tables around us were dirty and as we were leaving we witnessed the what I believe to be manager, he was dressed in different attire, a tall slender man with curly hair and mid way of him yelling at an employee he just leaves as she continues to speak ! Poor girl looked like she was ready to burst Into tears! Thank you to our server for being the only good part about our experience but this place needs new employees and managers from the looks of it! I most likely will not be dining at this location again!
My son is only 1, and he was not very happy. It did not help that the table next to us had kids and the parents were complaining about my son and forcing the staff to give them free stuff because my son was crying because he was hungry. The parents and their kids continue to glare and say rude comments towards my son. Making the situation worse. He stopped crying once they left. But our waitress was awful, super rude. Rushing us, and compliance to the other customers about my kid as well. It didnt help that my food came out cold, I ordered the 5 cheese stuffed shells. I literally had a small spoon full of sauce, not even enough for one shell, and my shells were undercooked and still hard. I didnt even get to eat my food because we just wanted to leave after the rude remarkably from our waitress. We did have one waitress that went the extra mile and made my son smile and gave him some candy. She was the only one to try and she wasnt even our waitress! We were approached by some people in the parking lot who were sitting right next to us and Saud our son did not bother them at all and they hardly noticed, until the waitress made unkind gestures and kept saying rude things about our son. They said the waitress had no right and ruined their time there. It was such a sad experience. Very rude family, very disrespectful waitress and none edible food.We wont be coming back to this location.
Love this restaurant !! My go to place for Italian food. Their soup & salad is incredible so as the breaddd. Shrimp scampi is my wife’s standard order, delicious as usual. I had chicken & shrimp oh god i love the cheesiness 😋. Server was very nice, overall wonderful experience as always !!
Let’s be honest: Italian food sucks compared to what a typical Olive Garden chain restaurant dishes up. Great cheesy food in excess, cheap drinks, and a chill atmosphere with commensurate service.Virginia took care of us tonight and she was excellent!
Olive garden will always be a favorite for pasta. Their cocktails/drinks are pretty good as well. Had a dish I wasnt really into but usually everything else is always good! Last time I went staffing was slower, Im assuming due to the pandemic.
Well seeing that I had either dirt or feces in my salad rolled up in the lettuce, prompting me to spit out what I had just ate. I will never be visiting this location again. We brought it to the attention of the waiter, who looked just as shocked, brought a new salad and that was the end. No one came to apologize or offer something for the issue. To future customers check your salad!!!!
My husband and I came in for lunch. We ordered the soup and salad. The salad was froze, then as it thawed it wilted, We got three different bowls of salad and everyone of them was froze. My husband asked for some tomatoes on the side and those were froze as well. The breadsticks were over cooked and hard and one time out of 4 they had sprinkled cheese on them. My rasberry lemonade had no flavor, thoughtbit was out bbn of syrup but said it wasnt. We also got charged for a trivia game we did not play. The took all the salads back because they were froze, the manager even made the last salad, also froze, we didnt eat any of them but they ne er offered to take anything off of our bill. Also, the restaurant had an awful odor. This is the worst Olive Garden Ive ever been in. I wont be back!
Raina Was A Great Server Ans She Knew What We Needed Before We Even Needed It 😊 I Had An Amazing Experience And Am Looking Forward To My Next Visit!
The atmosphere here I assume is meant to be Italian-ish. Did it hit the mark, I dont know. However it is warm and inviting.I ordered the Braised Beef Bolognese with Pappardelle ($16), Lasagna Dip ($8.50), Black Tie Mousse Cake ($7), Take Home Spaghetti and Meat Sauce ($5), Take home 5 Cheese Zitti ($5), Chicken & Gnocchi Soup ($0), and Breadsticks with a small bowl of marinara ($0+$3.50). The Lasagna Dip appetizer wasnt good at all, tasted burnt and weird. The waitress and manager removed it from bill, so all good there. The Chicken and Gnocchi soup I got with the meal was excellent, could have eaten a couple of bowls and they would have let me. The Breadsticks that come with the meal are very good, however $3.50 for a small amount of average marinara is crazy! The Beef Braised Bolognese was good, but nothing special. The Black Tie Mousse Cake was excellent. The take home spaghetti and take home Zitti were both very good. All together this all cost me with tip $50. So not even remotely a cheap meal. The service was excellent, even though restaurant was extremely busy. Management was on the ball.Overall a 4 star review. Would I return? Yes I will.
Splendid! What more do you expect from Olive Garden. I had not been here in years and I was concerned about being to casual. Hey this is 2019 after. I wasnt too casual. They treated me like I had a 3 piece suit on. Had a super awesome time there with my girlfriend. The waitress was awesome and the food, mmm dont get me started. Dont take my word for it, just go for yourself. 😁
Great menu selection. The food I ordered was delicious. Even had some leftovers that tasted wonderful the next day. The dessert was a Smores cake and my entree was some sort of chicken veggie pasta dish
