If youre into a more classy indoor wine tasting, this is the place for you. Personally, I like sitting outside and a more comfortable space - but this was an experience!Their tasting is done by trained Someliers (they know their wines). Theres a certain level of excellence and sophistication at Oldenburg that is not always the case elsewhere in the Stellenbosch valley.Beautiful garden and view!

What a delight to drive into the valley for a visit to Oldenburg. The estate is immaculate, he tasting centre, the garden and the views are outstanding.The wine is superb as are Stefano and Siwe, your hosts for the tasting. They are professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Make sure you have time for a visit here. You will not want to leave. Highly recommended.

Extraordinary wines, helpful knowledgable service, lovely scenery; a top-notch experience overall. My only regret is that we didnt have more time to relax in such beautiful surroundings and that air travel limited the number of bottles I could buy. Okay I suppose thats two regrets, not one, but hopefully Im getting my point across: this vineyard is incredible. While all the wines we tasted were fantastic (its rare that I say that), the Chenin Blanc, especially, is not to be missed. Make a reservation; you wont be disappointed!

Great Vineyards and very beautiful views. I enjoyed their Oldenburg wine yard tasting,the Chardonnay was surprisingly good *Im more of a Chenin lover*.So I was pleasantly surprised with the Chardonnay.

Setting is spectacular. Servers knowledgeable.We very much enjoyed the RONDEKOP TASTING flight and small cheese and olive plate.

Blown away probably best describes my experience. Petronella treated me like royalty, sticking to my pace with stories and making me feel like theyve been waiting for me all day to arrive.If atmosphere and services were the only things I had to rate my experience, this would be full marks. But then they bring out the wine, and youre reminded why attention to detail and perfection is what would set you apart from the rest. The complimentary cheese, olives and biscuits took this tasting to another level.Im inspired, I have lots to think about, and I will definitely be back!

The most beautiful setting, sublime wines, and our Sommelier, George, was incredible - his passion for Oldenburg and wine is phenomenal. We are from Cape Town and are avid wine enthusiasts who like to visit wine estates. We were blown away by what we experienced at Oldenburg. The setting is spectacular. The non-commercial approach is refreshing and wonderful! The wines were spectacular. Above all was the incredible service of head Sommelier Stefan. He made the experience arguably the best we’ve ever had. If ever you visit Oldenburg, be sure to ask for Stefan

Just sublime. Everything from the staff to the view (and the wine of courseis simply amazing. An absolute must visit if you’re in the wine region.I’ll be purchasing a crate to enjoy back home :-)

Now this is a hidden gem! What a special place creating beautiful juxtaposition between the modern architecture and the natural sweeping landscape of the vineyards and mountains, this is a vineyard not to miss for so many reasons. Not only is the service and knowledge exceptional the wine is absolutely beautiful. Some of the most spectacular views to be had in this hidden corner of the breathtaking Banghoek Valley. With its outstanding wines and exceptional service this is a regular stop for my guests. I cant recommed this estate more highly and look forward to my next visit. Many thanks to the team that always make me feel so welcome!

There are Incredible views at this wine farm. They only do wine tastings. You get a complimentary platter with your wine tasting. The wine tasting is also not cheap and the wines itself is also on the expensive side. However, the wines are definitely very nice, great tasting and well structured and if your pocket can afford it, buy a few bottles. The service was very good too.

We had such a lovely experience here-- the wine, views and staff (esp Petronilla!!were all awesome. Highly recommend stopping by and picking up a bottle or 12.

I love this wine farm. Less known then many other wine farms in the area. This wine farm produces some exceptional wines.Set in a beautiful setting on Hels Hoogte. The tasting experience is amazing. Wonderful modern decor in tasting room, passionate and knowledgeable staff. I found it a stand out experience. I would highly recommend.I think their wines will go from strength to strength.

This wasnt a tasting, this was a wine experience.Spent a truly wonderful hour at Oldenburg sampling seven wines...The syrah and cab sauv were my definite favourites.Stunning views over the vineyard and surrounding mountains.Love the fact they provide free cheese, olives and water.Friendly, knowledgeable staff.The tasting is more expensive, but to me it was worth it overall.

Living in the winelands and having done tasting at most of the local farms, I can vouche that Oldenburg is the most refreshing experience the Winelands offers. They have something special here and the wine selection according to my wine-making partner is of the best SA has to offer.Best part - our fantastic host Amos. Well done!

Outstanding experience recently. Stefan was top notch in sharing information but the wines....WOW. Never before have I been so impressed by a a range of wines across the board. Never got to taste the Rondekop range but cannot wait to head back and do so. Great job to all.

Absolutely beautiful farm and surroundings (without a doubt worth the short bit of dirt road required to get thereand exceptional wines. Being served by Siwe in the tasting room was an absolute delight and made the experience all the more enjoyable - she was a treat!

Jurgen was a good host. Cabernet Franc very special!

Enjoy some serene countryside in this out of the way winery. You must travel slowly on the pothole-laden entry road, but your reward is tranquil countryside. The wine selections are sure to intrigue your senses, however, the cheese offered is not necessarily designed as a compliment for any specific option. The tasting room and complex are a mix of modern high design and country chic.

A bit off the beaten track, but well worth a visit. Nestled in a natural amphitheatre, the views and mountain backdrop are stunning. The tasting room is elegant and the staff know their wines. The cheese and olive platter that comes with a standard tasting rounds off the experience.

This is one of the best tasting rooms in SA. Fantastic wines and great professional service. The wines are some of the best in South Africa, views stunning and experience world class. Wines served in Riedel glasses, experience top notch.

This place is an absolute gem. Felt so at home and enjoyed the most beautiful wine which was accompanied with a breathtaking view. Definitely coming back soon.

Breathtaking scenery, surrounded by mountains in the heart of Stellenbosch. I highly recommend this wine estate for the scenery, hospitality and extremely good tasting wine. Stefan is very knowledgable and I loved seeing his passion for wine throughout the tasting. A big thumbs up to Stefan and the owners of Oldenburg Vineyards for an amazing experience!

Hidden gem with beautiful views and great wines

This has to be one of the top wine estates I have visited. Excellent wines, fair prices, awesome complimentary olives, Stefan knows his stuff, 5 out of 5 - will definitely return. Well done to all of you.

We only found this place on the recommendation of friends ( it doesn’t appear in may of the guidebooks What a treat. We were a little uncertain as we approached as the road was unmade however once we had arrived we had a wonderful welcome and breathtaking views.We all really enjoyed the wines ( my particular favourite was the Chardonnay, which thank goodness was not chilled within an inch of its life so we could still enjoy the taste )We were given a generous platter of crackers , cheeese and olives. Thank you to Stefan and team. We would definitely visit again. Glad to hear that they import to the UK

Gorgeous views. Great wines. Novel way of presenting their complimentary snacks with the wine tasting (the cheese specifically). Would have given five stars, except for the last 900 meters of gravel road you need to cover to get to the tasting room

Oldenburg was suggested by another wine farm as a "must visit", which was such an intriguing notion that we just had to go. Situated in the Banhoek Valley, it most probably has the best setting and view of any wine farm I visited. And the wines were exquisite. For a pittance they present you with a flight of seven wines and then bring you some snacks as well. The staff were very professional and well-trained. But the wines were the star. Excellent whites and reds for every palate. I will come again. And again.
