Olde Tymers Cafe in Durango

We had reservations for 8. When we arrived the waitress rolled her eyes at us and took forever seating us. They were out of several menu items. Drinks were horrible. Food was served in stages. Some never got thier food. Some were done eating before others got their food. Unpleasant expierence

I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking to have decent conversation with their friends or who is looking to be served in less than 2 hours.I arrived at the restaurant and had to wait 20 minutes before my order was received. I then had to wait an extra 30 minutes for the appetizer. During that same time when we received the appetizer, very loud music was being played. My friend respectfully asked the music be turned down and a lady rudely responded that it would be, only to have it turned up again.After which I had to wait an additional 20 minutes for my entrée. When I received my entrée I was unable to eat it, because I did not have the utensils that I needed so I had to wait an additional 15 minutes to receive the utensils.I spoke with the manager and she was very dismissive of my concerns. She continued to busy herself with making the drinks. She said I would be properly compensated. Although I appreciate my meal being comped this is simply not enough. She should’ve comped more of my friends meals or at least come and talk to us about this problem. The fact that she remained at the bar making drinks shows me that she has no care or concern for her customers.My friends had other problems with their dishes like the fact that no toppings were brought with the burger.Terrible!

We came in right at open for lunch and had high hopes. Our waitress didn’t write down our order and that made a lot of things come out wrong. My husband ordered a beer and didn’t get the right one. I ordered onion rings and got fries. We both ordered our burger medium and mine was leaning to rare. The patty is very think so that’s why it wasn’t cooked to temp in the middle. For the price, I was expecting more from the service. I will say the taquitos appetizer was really good.

Took a couple tries to get in here. The first day I stopped in they closed early due to being short staffed, so I tried again the following day. The burger was very good but not sure why it seemed to be difficult to get fresh fries anywhere I went in Durango. The fries here seemed old, reheated and chewy rather than fresh and crisp.

Cant tell you how the food is. Was there over an hour after ordering food to be told there was 4 orders in front of mine. There were 5 tables with people seated when I came in and several of them already had their food. Will not be back. Silverstein train needs to stop plugging for them.

Very good food and back patio waiter is beyond excellent. Like many places today they seem to be suffering from staff shortages... Worth going but may have to wait for seat.

Service was a little slow but friendly. Food and drinks were very good.

My husband and I saw the little-downstairs-outdoor-patio and said, "Weve GOT to eat there!" The inside décor takes you back in time to the 1800s, and the little-downstairs-outdoor-patio was like having a picnic in a secret garden.

No service at all! Outside in the patio we had to wipe down our own seats and table cause it was wet from the rain then the so called “server” left us without ordering our drinks! We waited almost 20min no service. The place wasn’t even packed. The owner and servers walked by us several times without even checking on us. So we left. We got way better service at Steamworks which was packed btw. We got a table and ordered our food right away and were notified of any delays, something the servers from Olde Tymers Cafe could learn from. I will never come here again seems like customers are not important. The server forgot about us :(

Great atmosphere, workers were very nice! Food did come out a little slow, however it was worth the wait! You can tell everything was made from scratch. Highly recommend Shepards pie and bison eggcelent burger!

My husband and I went in there after several years. It used to be 1 of my favorite places. First we were seated at a wet sticky table. Pepper shaker was on the floor by our feet. I ordered a Alp burg with onion rings. Burg was ok. Onion rings were so greasy and over cooked the onion was dissolved. I watch my husband soup and salad sit on the cooks counter for 15 minutes until my burg was done cooking. Should of been the last thing to be prepared. Flies all over us and our food. Miserable. We paid 38.00 + tip for a burg, soup and half a salad 2 Dr. Peppers.

Upsetting experience. My family and I sat on the patio after a long wait despite it not being very busy. We ordered drinks, one drink was made wrong and the other they no longer had. We ordered food and enjoyed chatting with our friend and playing with our kids. After an hour we asked where our food was and the waitress was rude and dismissive. We had our two small kids with us who were being very good but getting antsy. We asked after another 15 minutes and got an even ruder response from the server “it takes more then a second” to which I replied “ it’s been more then an hour”. Long story short, after an hour and a half our food arrived to which when I asked to speak to the manager the young server told me that was her. Clearly not true, I asked for the owner to which she replied “ I don’t know his name”. A few minutes later the actual manager came out and scolded us for yelling at her server! In stead of comping us and apologizing she had the audacity to ask us to leave! Are you kidding me! What has this world come to. I called the next day and left a message with the owner Mark as I thought a respectful conversation about the rudeness and lack of professionalism in his restaurant would be better had person to person. He has not returned my call. The tables around us even came to our defense but the entitled staff carried on. We used to love this place, the food was good and prices affordable. We moved away a year ago and the new owner has jacked up his prices- 17$ for a turkey club! the menu is limited and the service slow, rude and entitled. It’s too bad. We won’t be back.

First time back since the place changed hands. The food was awesome and the service was friendly and efficient. Looking forward to going back!

Rude servers and incredibly slow service. When we asked after 45 minutes how much longer it would take for our food to arrive, the waitress said “it takes more than a second for food to some out” and walked away. After another 20 minutes and still no food, we asked again and were told basically the same thing. Nobody apologized, nobody tried to make it right for us. I’ll never go back.

A great place to get food and drinks. I recommend the patio.

WORST Chicken strips on the planet.. They attempted to serve us what looked like tempura chicken strips. Soaked in oil, meat inside was like chewing a tire.. No flavor.. Could not finish it..Only reason Im giving even one star is the wait staff, they were very friendly and gave great service.

Worst Chicken Fried Steak ever. Was burnt and asked for extra gravy but only got a spoon full. Steaks was over cooked and black around the edges, terrible. Onion rings wasnt deep fried to a crisp, still under cooked.

I guess it’s under new ownership. I have to say, it time to close the place down. There signature Chicken Fried Steak of old was served greasy,dried out, overcooked. Flopped on mashed potatoes that might have been sitting for several days. Peas and Carrots right of the Sam’s club frozen food isle.My Wife’s burger looked ok.The place I used to enjoy is no more…Close it up/ remodel it to a good restaurant and bar. The beautiful back courtyard of old has turned into a few dying plants. Sad.

Wonderful setting on the corner with a nice outdoor seating area. Staff was very pleasant and food was good. The music they played I enjoyed which was classic rock. A nice place eat in Durango.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had by far. My family came in for dinner and we were sat upstairs. Pretty sure they forgot about us half the time. We ordered before we all got water even. So prob 15 min in. By the time we got some of our food which was over and hour later we were ready to leave. Couldnt get any frink refills. Alcoholic beverages watered down. Extremely rude staff and owners. Said we were in the wrong in saying that it took an hour to get a salad and hot dog. My hot dog came out last out of the five of us. Watched everything being cooked whiched was actually warming things up from drawer basically. Finally left and then we tried waiting downstairs for bill which took another 20 min. Unreal. Place should be closed.

Our favorite go to, since we live here! However, this weekday lunch visit was so very disappointing!! The service was unacceptably slow. Wait staff was great but you could see the cook was less than enthused to get food out. We waited 30 minutes and the restaurant was essentially empty. It will be awhile before we return, unfortunately

Best burgers in town. We love the patio out back for that outside dining feel.

Definitely a great place to recover after a full day around Durango! The menu’s simple and the location has a great vibe. Come here and regain those macros.

Food was ok, the mashed potatoes were real bland, but my server Brooke was great, very sweet girl.

Our server, Julia, was excellent! She recommended their pizza which did not disappoint! Very nice place to have a meal and nice conversation with the staff before you head out to do some hiking and exploring.

Food is great, prices and value really great for a Durango main street restaurant. The property is nostalgic, historic and the service was wonderful. I had several different items off the menu over my stay in town. Homemade burgers and great fish & chips. I will be back in the future, and would recommend this as an easy going pub that provides a great value!

Awesome establishment. Been coming here since i was a child. Came here for a remembrance of a person and the staff was amazing. The staff made me feel at home and I can not express how much gratitude I have. A place that will always be near and dear to my heart.

Owner and management is a complete joke. So called "manager" Julia seated us and proceeded to go outside for over an hour to smoke weed with her dad. The "owner". Terrible service. Terrible food. Just garbage.

This restaurant was a great find in Durango. I had the tomato soup and a grilled ham and cheese sandwich and it was delicious. Staff and service was excellent.

Stumbled across this place after finding other higher rated places to be wanting and so glad we found it. We were seated almost immediately and our beverage order taken immediately upon being seated in the splendid patio. Our server was attentive, our beverages refilled before we asked and my Verde Burger was perfectly prepared and I do mean perfectly. Salad was very fresh. My wife enjoyed the Shepherd’s Pie. Server brought “doggie bag” before we needed to ask as well as the check. We’ll be back.

Delicious food. The staff, though very kind, took a little bit to get to us on not so busy a night. It was worth the wait though. The aesthetic and the food were wonderful

Wonderful. The house salad with Cod was amazing. I think I will order my meat on the side from now on. The balsamic dressing is excellent too.

I feel like weve become regulars here. Brooke is our go-to server and our kids love her! The food is always fresh and good and right now its never too crowded even on Friday night. During the summer their patio is gorgeous!

This place was terrible. I ordered barbeque chicken, my husband the chicken sandwich with onion rings. Our chicken would have been better used to sole our shoes, the first order of onion rings were sent back because they were stone cold, the second order were hot, but dripping with grease. We were in the middle of a 10 hour journey so did not have time to complain, but really it was a disgrace. So give this place a miss, we certainly will.

This place felt like home! Great service and friendly smiles. The picture posted is, you won’t believe it, a veggie patty! I had to double check with my delightful bartender to ensure it was vegetarian. It was : So delicious and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit

Super delicious!! We came here as a family while visiting Durango and we were so happy we stopped here for dinner!We tried the chicken strips, fish and chips, Bavarian pretzel, and some other things… all were super delicious!I was super pleased to see that they had Mocktails as well! The drinks were so yummy!! This is a place we would definitely return to if given the chance!!!

The wings were big and delicious. Got the rodeo burger. It was awesome, but so big I couldnt finish it. The ambiance was comfortable. Only issue was a few little flies bugging us. But no biggie. Will absolutely come again.

A fun place to eat at in downtown Denver! My family was looking down Main Street for a place to eat lunch at, and I’m glad we picked this cafe! Their food is classic diner food with modern twists. I had the avocado toast which was AMAZING! The ambiance is also fun! This is a great to place to either stop by for a quick lunch or to eat at with family!

This was a great place to eat, no wait to get in, and my favorite food.We had a giant pretzel as an appetizer, it came with bavarian mustard and white queso. It just about disappeared before our food hit the table.I had a Verde burger with sweet potato fries, my wife had a Rodeo Burger with onion rings. The fries were good, nothing too special and definitely not bad. The onion rings were banging, they were hot, crispy, and flavorful. The green chile on my burger wasnt spicy at all but had a lot of flavor all the same. The guac was decently seasoned and there wasnt a trace of funk to be found. The sauce on the rodeo was pretty tasty, Id consider it next time.Both burgers were almost Scooby Doo-ish in proportion and I mean that in the best way possible. Youd better be hungry to order one because theyre large and tasty so its hard to stop eating.We ordered grilled cheese for the kids, didnt realize they were on Texas toast or Id have let them split one. It was a pair of face sandwiches, I laughed out loud when I saw the giant sandwich in front of my baby.Nothing was too expensive, all of the staff was friendly and helpful, the restaurant was clean even if the menu wasnt crisp and new.Didnt ask about sweets as cream bean berry is across the street and if youre in the area and looking for dessert, you go there.Id definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great lunch. Ill have to check them out next time Im in downtown Durango at night.

Had the blue cheeseburger (can’t remember it’s actual name)… and the potato skins… mannnn that burger was awesomeWill probably come back just for that, again

Food was deliciois and place was quite busy which tells me others think it great as well. Could have been more staff to tend to the demand of customers, however in light of COVID they were good!

On our way back from Mesa Verde, we stopped in durango and had a chance to have lunch at this place. Order fish and chips and a fish sandwich, both were great. Good place for a quick bite.

Honestly, it was OK. I gave it a 2 stars because the food tasted decent, but they screwed up more than once. I ordered a standard 1/2lb burger from the menu, the meat cooked to medium, add pepper jack cheese and regular fries. If you look at the pictures of the hamburger that I bit into, I got a well done burger, with sweet potato fries, and my cheese was provalone with onions under the cheese as well as on the side. I like sweet potato fries, so no big deal. I scraped the onions off, dealt with it not being cooked right and just tried to enjoy my lunch with my wife and child. Our server towards the end of the meal said "I have to go pay a parking ticket, so Ill be back. If you need anything, just ask ___ and shell help you." Overall I wasnt impressed by this place. I usually never give bad reviews but I wasnt thrilled with my meal or service.

The service was spot on! The Bison burger was the best burger Ive had in awhile. Perfect place to watch it snow with a hot lunch and cold beer.

Very nice seating area for patio. Food was good and not too badly priced. Drinks were good also!
