San Ignacio, La Habana, Cuba, San Antonio de los Banos
Old Town Square - Plaza in San Antonio de los Banos, Cuba
Good place and safe for walk and enjoy Cuba in a good environment.
This is a very nice place to eat and trink and enjoy the old city Havanna.
Great place to hang out, have cocktails, get a bite and people watch.
The mood was just right and the night was beautiful. So glad I got to visit this place.
History and architecture. I would reccomend hiring a guide when exploring Havana to get the most out of the visit.
Old Square - The Plaza Vieja is a square located in Old Havana. It was designed in 1559 and is the most striking plaza in Havana from an architectural point of view. Here the Cuban baroque coexists with the Art Nouveau inspired by the Gaudinian style.
Cooling looking old buildings..
A very nice square in Havana, there are some nice bars that overlook the square so you can watch the world go by with a drink in hand
This is a beautiful and impressive place. The reparation and conservation work is amazing, as someone who remembers it was a wreck. Now it is full of hotels, restaurants and bars and a joy to watch the world go by from its terraces.
A place which gathers multiple businesses and museums, restaurants, cafes, bars and more in the middle of the restored part of the city.
Great place where one can find a car exhibition for only 20 pesos per person and good restaurant.
Very nice place to visit. Beautiful houses and good bars and restaurants. Of course it is very touristic place and they have touristic prices as well.
I have heard there is not much to do in Havana but we spent few hours in the old town, there is really not much.. good to take lovely photos and to see great architecture, couple of cafes around.
Very nice place to walk and enjoy the old architecture. Many restaurants and bars with a nice view, music kids runing pidgeons laughs silliness... In the heart of the city very close to the seawall.
There are good restaurants in this square. We find an ice cream shop over there. It was cheap and excellent. Also, a few people offer you exchange of euros, US and Canadian dollars. Their rates are much more better than official rates. This is the situation just after COVID pandemic.
Havana I love you. The best place on earth- culture, drinks, palm trees, salsa, music and history. What more can you ask for?
Fantastic place, everything is really old school,I traveled here alone in 2018 summer,Cuba will bring you back in time, people here are hospitable, and its better to learn a basic Spanish first, because most of people they dont understand English.Women travel alone need to take care, a guy stalked me but eventually Im safe. Although this happened, it didnt ruin my traveling experience.
Nice space. Very historic. Nice place to enjoy a coffee and people watch.
Walking around, I came across this area of Havana. What a really cool place to see and walk around.
One of the squares of la Habana, and one of the most beautiful of the city. Restaurants around and life at day and at night. Recommended
Pretty and authentic atmosphere. If you want to enjoy great meals with real Cuban vibe, this is it!
There are things you have to be there to experience, from the live music being played on the street to the old structural of beautiful buildings, art everywhere, to the coffee shops. My recommend is take the elevator to the roof and experience the view of the entire Havana, Cuba. I paid around 2 CUC to see the observatory of the live pictures of some parts of Havana.
Here you will see the perfect combination of colorful buildings and beautiful Cabrio cars! Of course, relaxed and not in the way of the Western World.
Another beautiful plaza! This one was used for big social gatherings back in the day. Currently you will find many school children coming here to exercise and such! Bit more peaceful as less tourists know about this place. Enjoy the beautiful architecture around this plaza!
Another Havana small square with restaurants and bars. Every corner you go you get mindblowned with a new experience in Havana. You have several restaurants and bars in this area. Watch out for fake guides close to the old town square brewery that will walk with you and then take you to a fake cigar seller.
Cuba is so beautiful! I love the structures and the people are extremely nice.
Just a pleasant plaza to spend a hour or so walking around and have a coffee.
Nice part of Old Havana. Sit at one of the cafes, order a mojito, daiquiri, espresso or bucanero and watch the world pass by
The Havana is one of great cities in the Caribbean. The old town in particular is like taking a trip back in time. Just be careful if youre buying cigars; stick to the state run shops, and the prices are the same no matter where you go. If someone says the cigar prices are negotiable, stay away!!!
The most touristy area in Havana, but its beautiful and a nice break from road traffic. If going to Havana, be sure to also check out the rest of the incredible city!
I can officially check off Old Havana, Cuba on my bucket list! Such awesome history and the people are so warm and respectful.
Spectacular! Wow! Mind boggling! Must see! Bucket List Check! Just incredible! Viva La Cuba! La Habana Amore!
One of my favorite for her beauty and elegance is Plaza Vieja or Old Square. You can see lovely examples of traditional Cuban architecture from colonial times found within the brilliantly colored glass windows, the beautiful balconies and the brightly colored hued buildings. Nowadays. Plaza Vieja remains a beautiful square filled with traditional Cuban architecture and a few outdoor cafes. It is picturesque area to walk around along the cobblestone streets and sweeping views of Havanas historical past.
Nice place to start your day. Lots of cafes in the area. If you walk east you get the ferry if you walk north you get to where all the action is. If you walk west to get to the capital.
The square is nicely renovated and includes many restaurants, shops, and vendors. The fountain was off limits but there was plenty going on that you could stop and see, live music and dancing throughout. We stopped and grabbed some home-made ice cream sandwiches, as well as chocolate ice cream in a coconut. It seems as if the square is targeting tourists, many street performers stopped and asked for photos or money, overall a great experience.
Just about centre of the city waterfront area with quick access by foot into city centre. A but scruffy and run down but interesting.
Nicely kept square in Havana town with attractive architecture around the perimeter and some nice restaurants and bars too. There were musicians dressed up on stilts playing through it too whilst we were there
Excellent place to hang out and spend a whole afternoon. It has restaurants, beer factory, places to see, live music... great atmosphere
..... This is the best place to be during the day or at night! It all happens here because most tourist hangout here! There are loads of different restaurants, ice cream vendors art galleries etc, etc also all the better restaurants have their own live bands to entertain it’s patrons! It’s very difficult to describe the vibe and atmosphere in this amazing-lii place! We spent lots of our time here drinking coffee, local beers & mojitos! This is a Must Visit Place when in Havana, Cuba.,,,,
So much to see, experience and learn here in Old Havana. Tour guide highly recommended because it is truly a learning and moving experience.
A magic place full of history and tradition! Amazing places to eat and drink, art and architecture! ❤️❤️❤️
Cuban people need to learn hospitality. First attempt to have a drink here failed miserably, we waited 30 min before I decided to go ask why nobody will come to take the order, answer was: go at the table. We left shortly. Second time was somehow better till the server came and ask us to finish the drinks because they need the beer mugs.
Greetings Friends, here is my impression of the Old Havana which is for me the Havana before Fidel Castro passed away.
Beautiful square in Havana that has different restaurants to choose from when hungry or simply space to wander around while looking up at the beautiful colorful architecture around the Square. It also has a centerpiece of history and an interesting sculpture of a woman holding a fork while riding a rooster. Locals will share with you menus of the eateries nearby or will be available to give tours of the city. A wonderful place!
A very beautiful Plaza in old Havana.Lots of cafes, restaurants, and bars all around. you can hear the live music coming from every corner.Kids playing football in the middle of the plaza.Wonderful Cuban people selling all kinds of souvenirs. This place is magical. Definitely a must when in Havana.
Cuba what a wonderful place to be. Very Colorful. Picturesque. You can feel safe in Cuba. Old buildings will bring your imagination how it was in those days. Only thing to remember you wont find any ATM machines. So always have cash ( CUC, Cuban moneywith you. Other wise you have a problem
Beautiful place. What else to say. Everything else has already been said.
The architecture of the buildings are awesome. Restoration is carefully done by hand, section by section. La Vitrola Restaurant offered excellent menu and beverage for a very reasonable and affordable price. Recommend eating here.
Once upon a time, Plaza Vieja was known as Plaza Nueva, or “New Square”. The plaza, laid out in 1559, lost its name and role as the main public gathering place after Plaza de Armas was widened in the 19th century. The plaza has been restored to its original elegant appearance and is surrounded by colourful, historic buildings from four different centuries. The most beautiful home in Plaza Vieja, and probably my favourite building in all of Havana, is Casa del Conde Jaruco.
Beautiful, colonial city. Amazing views. Great people.
