Steinerne Brücke, 93059 Regensburg, Germany, Nuernberg
1100s stone bridge & city emblem featuring a 16-arch, 310-m. span over the Danube River.
Charming, historical, beautiful, scary. What a crowd puller and a must visit for Regensburg.
A place you must see. Especially in summer, when thousends of people spend their sundowner at the river.
Make sure to visit this old stone bridge for a great view of the whole area. You can walk underneath the bridge, just be careful as it has no rails and there is danger of falling in the river. The area around the bridge offers some great restaurants and walking trails.
Lovely traditional bridge across the River Danube in the beautiful little city of Regensburg
This is a must visit if you are in town. Unless you are further than in city center-like the Cathedral and around, you could just walk up to this breathtaking place. You could enjoy the view better than any other spot in town. A beer-garten is also located up there.
Bridges offer a fantastic way for getting from one side of a body of water to another, without having to swim, fly or even leap! Simply walk as you normally would, being careful not to step over the edge, and thats it! Absolutely marvelous.
Good place to spend a weekend
Old bridge over Danube - historical value. Worth to see because there is a nice view over the city.
It’s a 900 years old stone Bridge!

Beautiful walk into a beautiful place. Surprised I havent heard more about this gem. Be sure to check out the museum on the city side for a bathroom. And take a walk up the bridge tower for some history and nice views of the city and river.
Just a bridge, you can’t really see it’s so old, but it gets you over the river and that’s the most important thing. Nice stone.
One of the oldest bridges in Germany. Built around 12th century and connecting two important parts of the city. Indeed a beautiful sightseeing place in Regensburg and one can take a ride in the waters in a Steamer or just take a nice stroll around.
Very nice place with the sound of river, to camp out.
When you feel alone and you are bore from your routine work, then go to the riverfront with some food for you as well for fishes, you can enjoy by feeding to the fishes.
Exceptionally well constructed bridge originally build in 10th century.Along with the Regensburg Cathedral , the Stone Bridge is the most important building in Regensburg . Loved to walk over the Danube and take a stroll from the new to the old parts of Regensburg.Overall you feel like taking a trip through a time machine. You will find a lot of eateries on the other end of the bridge. The setting sun allows for a picturesque view of the multi colored Regensburg houses on the bank and a spectacular view to hold.Cars are not allowed, so you can leisurely take a walk or click a few snaps of the Danube and the old town.
A very beautiful place. Visited in the end of winter. Will definitely come again in summer!
The interesting thing about this Stone Bridge (Steinerne Brücke in Germanis that it is one of the oldest bridges in Germany and an important Romanesque building in Regensburg. According to the natives of Regensburg, the bridge is shrouded in legend
Regensburg is a beautiful old town. Must visit. Everything is at walkable distance.
Nice Place with a Good view of Regensburg. Nice pedestrian area but can get crowded at times.
One of the best views of the town, crossing this bridge felt a little like walking in Pragues Charles bridge
This is the main attraction to see in Regensburg. The bridge itself seems to recently have been cleaned or renovated, as the bricks seem to shine in the sun. The bridge links both sides of the historical city center to each other. It also offers great sunset shots over the Danube.
An impressive medieval bridge that has been rebuilt and reconstructed. This is one of the oldest bridges on the Danube and is quite wonderful to see, particularly in the evening. However, history enthusiasts should be aware that nearly all of the bridge, or at least the visible parts have been recently reconstructed. The bridge has a side causeway down to one of the islands in the Danube where one can sit and watch the river.
One of the old Stone Bridge, best place to have scerene and mesmerizing views of the city and nature.
The Stone Bridge is the landmark for the UNESCO world heritage city of Regensburg. The stone bridge is one of the main landmarks in Regensburg. You will see an amazing scenery if you stand on the bridge. This bridge links the old town with Stadtamhof.
Bridge with a legend that the bridge builder and the cathedral builder (who were apprentice and masterhad a bet as to whom would finish first. When the building of the cathedral progressed faster than that of the bridge, the bridge builder made a pact with the Devil: the Devil would aid him in exchange for the first three souls (or the first eight feetto cross the bridge. The Devil helped as requested, and the bridge was finished first. But the bridge builder sent a rooster, a hen and a dog across the bridge first. Enraged, the Devil attempted to destroy the bridge, but failed which is why it is bent. The apprentice is in the centre of the bridge looking towards the cathedral (currently being renovated)A statue of a man on the cathedral is said to represent the master throwing himself off in reaction to losing the bet.
Old Ston Bridge gives a look of heritage which has been preserved and maintained nicely. It adds lot of beauty to Regensburg. This bridge is good to capture snapes of the area. Excellent spot for tourists to visit.
The stone bridge is the perfect example of medieval architecture. For nine centuries, this has been the only bridge to have ever been built across the Danube. Isnt that just breathtaking? Today, it still remains one of the oldest bridges north of the Alps. In the 2010s it has undergone a major restoration, therefore I dont have many good pictures, but you get the gist. And if its not enough, head out to Regensburg yourself :It may be finished by now. :)
It’s one of the beautiful place to visit in Regensburg old city. Walking on the bridge and admiring the calm water with the glimpse of light.
Oh look, a bridge. Lets drive four hours to see the marvels of Regensburg, one of the richest cities of the Holy Roman Empire. Oh wait, you wanted information? You were expecting some decoration? Sorry mate, this is just a very plain bridge across the Danube. Yes its old but sos my Gran and shes more photogenic. The area around here has some more beautiful medieval buildings but unless you both speak German and have an eye for snooping that would make Sherlock Holmes blush you wont be able to find any information about them. Basically, Regensburgs tourist agency is xenophobic and makes no concessions to attract foreign visitors. Learn German or **ss off home.
Well, its old, because its here since a good while but actually it was rebuilt a few years ago, so looks completely new. Still nice and offers you a great view of the Danube and the city on its banks.
This 12th century old stone bridge is a must see if you visit Regensburg. Visit in summer if you also want to feel the vibrant of the city. The Danube river is also flowing under the bridge which is a must see sight.
Steinerne Brücke (Old Stone Bridgeis an impressive 12th-century stone bridge that spans 310 metres over the Danube in the city of Regensburg. The bridge includes 16-arches and stands beautifully over the river, making for decent pictures, views and river crossings by foot as part of sightseeing experiences in Regensburg.Historically,Steinerne Brücke replaced an earlier wooden bridge nearby that was deemed insufficient for traffic usage and was vulnerable to floods. After being built it remained the only crossing of the Danube in Regensburg until the 1930s. To this day it is considered a masterwork of medieval engineering and construction as well as an emblem of the city of Regensburg.
Have I paddled into utopia? such friendly people here in this medieval town and such beautiful buildings, even the water traffic was extremely considerate.
One of the best spot in Regensburg for a beautiful view. The river Donau, Ships, cathedral , tower and lots of attraction visible from one single spot outstanding view. You may find local musicians there singing beautifully and one may find lots of people there to interact with.Should visit this place for sure when visiting Regensburg.I have attached some photos.
Historical place, nice to take a walk and take pictures of the city of Regensburg. At the end of the bridge, going inside the city, there is a really nice place for "Wurst" called the Wurstküche. One of the best places in the city.
The old Stone bridge is a great place to take some photos. It’s also a great place to walk over to two different beer gardens.
