Imposing 1800s church featuring landmark twin towers & an ornate interior with granite columns.
Beautiful Church!!
Beautiful rubrical Mass. Worship was reverent and sacred. Im new to town. Ive gone to vigil and Sunday TLM.
So beautiful and peaceful❤
Big old church, very nice inside and outside
Beautiful old Catholic Church in Greektown.
Beautiful architecture and great environment for prayer.
This is a glorious Church, and very unique too. It has Grottos and fascinating details.
Beautiful just beautiful. Very calm and spiritual.
Inspiring, prayerful environment. The church is a giant, positive piece of history in Detroit.
Beautiful architecture. I was once told the marvel Is pillars weigh 10 tons each!
Its beautiful and has the best Organ in Detroit
Beautiful church and Friday Holy hour
My friend guest for The Annual DPD Memorial Service.A most unforgettable program for the ones thats no longer with us. The inside of the historical Church building was absolutely a breathtaking experience. Looking forward attending next year.
Attended DPD Memorial service for fallen officers
Lovely church located at the end of Greek Town in Detroit. Not a large church yet worth visiting for the extravagant cathedral like feel. Also conveniently located for good greek food on the very next block.
Beautiful church. Father CY Whittaker does a wonderful Mass.
Very nice first time here, will come again if were downtown
Miracle photos seen all over the world. The photos are real, what prompted the photos when I was a young boy I sacrifice my body to save my friend he went to graduate high school he also became a karate master.Jesus and Moses shot on November 23, 2018, The God photos shot on July 9, 2020, there’s a gold cherub in front of the sun pyramid shaped clouds and more. More photos were shot on August 29, 2021 advanced Technology, science, and religion. Enjoy God bless thanks Gai.
What an absolutely gorgeous church that was so well decorated for Christmas. The grotto shrines had such a way of pulling you into a state of reference and awe. And while we visited, there was such a warm feel in the church that, mixed with the kindness of the greeter that sought us out and the organ soaring through a beautiful rendition of a Christmas hymn, I felt my heart floating high toward the vaulted ceiling.
New arrivals to the metro Detroit were very impressed at the beauty of this historic church; grateful too especially when a birthday celebrant received special blessings after mass from the wonderful priest
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful mass at the Old St Marys Church in downtown Detroit last week. Everything was appealing from the musical psalms, the mass prayers and the amazing beauty of the church.
The most beautiful church Ive ever been in along with a very impressive message
Attended a wedding mass but it was not a full mass. I dont know if the Priest was the main Priest at that church or not, but he is the reason I gave 4 stars instead if 5. The church itself is gorgeous.
Love Old Saint Mary’s. Beautiful church. Reverent Liturgy (including TLM and Latin Novus Ordo). Great community. If you love the traditions of the Church … come here.If you’re looking for an established and thriving urban parish of families, professionals, and others … come here.We have donuts after pretty much every weekend Mass.Confessions heard before pretty much every Mass. And concerts.Seriously.You should come and give OSM a try.
Thee most beautiful church & staff. Every time I attend the church I obtain this feeling of holy ness,Purity and just amazing ...& I truly love Father Lee’s preaching ❤️🙏🌹
Very beautiful church. Enjoy the May crowning and procession every year. The Mass was very traditional.
Looking at some of these one star reviews, they are sad people who rate the church a 1 star and seem to have never set foot in this church. This church is stunning and a holy place. Get a life and maybe if you included God in your life, you wouldnt waste your time just being hateful to a religion.
Beautiful old church with frequent masses in downtown Detroit. Great place to check out. Security/ushers or whoever they are push you out quickly after mass. Not the most welcoming experience
CLAIM THIS HOLY SPACE FOR YOUR OWN, AND FOR THE GENERATIONS OF YOUR CLAN YET TO BREATHE IN THE BLESSINGS FROM HERE.
I love this church I always feel good after leaving this church very spiritual 🙏
The most beautiful church I’ve ever stepped foot in. This cathedral truly is sacred.
Oh my goodness..... this church is BREATH TAKING!!!!!!
Phenomenal Presence of God, That Really Jolts You,. As Soon as you Hit The Door!! The Pastor, is a very well Seasoned Spiritual Master, whose Sermons sound like mini Spiritual Retreats!!! I Love the Traditional Devotions that have long become Extinct at so many other Parishes!!! This Church Represents The Very Best of THE Old SCHOOL!!!
This church has the feel of a smaller version of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. The interior is superb. Great acoustics! Best version of Victorian German Romanesque Architecture.
Attended the Latin Mass there last week. Wonderful experience. Beautiful architecture and statutes. Well worth the half hour drive to attend Mass at this historic church.
Absolutely stunning architecture. Attended Christmas mass there and it was extremely reverent and cozy. They also had a live orchestra and the most beautiful trees Ive ever seen. I recommend Christmas mass here for anybody at all.
One of the most beautiful churches in the area recommend going on SundaysWe drive for 1/2 hour in order to get there for Mass and its worth it
Beautiful church!! We had our wedding here last Saturday (21 sept 2019), and everything was perfect! Randy did an excellent job organizing everything and making sure the wedding went smoothly. The brides quarters upstairs were great! There was water and Faygo pop which came in handy between pictures and the ceremony. Everything went smoothly! Old saint Marys is an excellent parish, even for weekly masses or holy days of obligation. I highly recommend anyone who practices the catholic faith to visit this church at least once! You wont be disappointed!
They have a wonderful Mass every weekday at 12:15 sharp. Its a short "workers Mass" and is complete by 12:55 at the latest, so theres no reason for any Catholics working downtown Detroit to miss the Mass. The Church itself is steeped in the history of the city, and is well worth visiting to look around even if you are not Catholic. If you want to just look at the amazing architecture (or say a rosary before Massdoors are open during the weekdays at 11:00, and stay open until 2:30 after the Mass.Note for sightseeing: There is a Eucharistic adoration after the 12:15 Mass on Fridays and many stay for the hour or so long adoration, this makes it difficult for someone who just wants to sightsee to photograph and explore without disrupting those in prayer.
Old St Mary cathedral is a long standing pillar in Detroit. And its still beautiful inside as well as outside and they host a lot of events in the community.
Beautiful historic church lifts the heart, mind and soul to God.Mass at 12:15pm Monday thru Saturday!
Very beautiful church and we had one of the best priests at mass today.
What a Beautiful Church! This should’ve been the Archdiocesan Cathedral for Detroit. I will definitely go here for Mass on my next visit to Detroit!
This Beautiful Church provides meals and clothing every 4th Thursday in a month. If you want to donate or receive some extra help try this church. I dont think you will have any regrets.
I love this church so beautiful the service is beautiful then going to the church for over 25 years now it is amazing
Note: I am not a parishioner of this parish, but am a Detroit local who sometimes attends this mass.Beautiful interior and exterior, first time I walked I to this church it was breath taking - +10. This church is planted right in the heart of downtown Detroit. They offer a morning 10am mass that is a normal novas ordo but all the words are in Latin expect for the readings and sermon.
Its a beautiful church that you can visit for a mass or only for the pleasure of a tour to this stunning church to look its architecture and glass windows.
1841 German Catholic Marvel. Beautiful inside and out. Spiritually there are daily masses at 12:15 and on Sunday at 8:30, 10:00 & 12:00. The 10 oclock mass is in Latin and confession is before every mass. The church also has special concert events every month on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 2pm. There is free guarded parking for those going to mass and dont forget to give when the plate is passed.
Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful churches designed in honor of Our Lords Mother....a NOTE to the reviewer (uncle chuckles)...after walking around the church perhaps you could kneel down before Our Lord and give him a minute of your day...also too few of those who say they love God esp. Catholics attend Holy Mass here in the heart of Detroit...03-30-18 uploaded some photos taken during Good Friday Faure Requiem
This is a beautiful church inside and out. It is right next door to the Greektown Hotel. I have been here many times. They have a noon daily mass which is great to attend.
