Old House at Home Pelsall - Pub in Aldridge, United Kingdom
Lovely friendly atmosphere without too much going on. Very friendly bar staff and great knowledge about their drinks. We will be returning very soon.
My first visit here, lovely homely pub. High class of clientele and we were lucky enough to partake of some of Sheilas marvellous little cakes. What a nice visit, as we remembered the life of our friend Gina.
Friendly staff but I felt the food was below average. We were seated in the corner next to a window and the window sills were very dirty, not looking like they had been cleaned in a while. Makes you think about everything else then. I dont think I would return based on my experience.
Almost an hour for the mains to arrive. It was school half term that might have been a factorFood was mostly good except for the 2 burger patties had a crusty top to them.
Unfortunately, the Old House At Home was not up to scratch tonight. I am very disappointed with the service. We booked a table tonight with hopes that the food would be at its normal standard, however we ordered several steaks medium they were well done. One steak was ordered well done and it was literally cremated. The starters arrived after main meals and a warm desert was still barely defrosted. The one server looked stressed and about to cry all night, so we were worried about making any kind of complaints but it definitely was not goo service and will definitely not be choosing to go to the Old House anytime soon.
Great food ! Super fast service! And I would say relatively cheap! Me like it! Nom nom nom!
VERY HELPFUL STAFF GOOD QUALITY FOOD AT GOOD PRICES QUICK AND EFFICIENT. 🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍
Service excellent, Naunton course great, desert tasted a bit over cooked on the bottom. Would go again no question
Revolting food, extremely expensive starters. A small metal dish of soggy Nachos for £4.15. rip off. The pasta dish was so over cooked it could not hold its shape. It was a dish of mush. Avoid the chain. Second and last time since the re structure of the staff and training and its just as bad. No real ale but banks. You work hard and going out is a treat. Not here it isnt!
We was made very welcome as soon as we entered. Food was amazing, service was excellent waitress was very attentive its the best childrens menu we have seen my grandsons loved it. We can highly recommend old house at home def will going again .
Nice place could do with a bit more space entertainment but couldnt see because we had to sit in the other room
Food was ok for pub grub, the pub felt a little run down.
Eat here regularly, steak always perfectly cooked ,fish and chips lovely entertainment tonight was fantastic, Joe elvis was brilliant, so good ,had best night. 👌 x
Very nice staff the steak is lovely 100% recommend.
Great food, ale & welcoming staff & customers
Absolutely vile, disgusting, sticky, greasy dirty pub, that serves dry microwaved food!
Great pub clean well kept lovely staff dont miss a meal here bang on
Food was lovely. Staff were so helpful and friendly
Excellent atmosphere Excellent food worth a visit bye everybody
Really great food (value for moneywith friendly staff. If you go have the chocolate fudge cake...well worth a visit just for a piece!
Went in 20 mins before closing down restaurant, told us we had to order straight away, food brought to our table was disgusting especially the pasta for our sons girlfriend which for sure was microwaved , mentioned it to the boss,he just shook his shoulders....
Very large meals but lovely very friendly staff lovely and clean
Loved house at home only 2nd time Ive been in but will be using it again 100%
Really nice local pub, visited yesterday and had a lovely time.
Went for food and drink.Got the drink ok but then told No Food on. OK it was the hottest day of the year and I didnt want to cook either but they could have told me before serving me drinks. Garden was nice though.Ended up going to Da Vinci Aldridge which was amazing..
Nice pub but the food wasnt great.I had a pie but the pastry was hard and dry.The 3 burgers that the other people had were missing things. None had the advertised beef tomatoes, 2 were supposed to come with a dipping sauce. After an enquiry about the sauce 2 appeared quite slowly and to top it off they were cold and so not eaten. Shame as the place looks really nice. Maybe the chef was having a bad day.
Excellent food and atmosphere
Great beerGreat staffGreat foodAwesome landlordHighly recommended
Always make the kids welcome. Clean, Friendly & welcome. Food was hot & beer was cold 👌
Lovely friendly staff and very helpful with our vegan order.Good portions. Tasty food.
Lovely place, food excellent and staff very friendly, ideal for couples or fsmilies. Definately be going again
First time Ive been to this pub but I found it to be very welcoming. I went to a physic night that was held here, that was very enlightening. Staff seem very friendly.
Popped in for a refreshment as hadnt been here for a while and at about 1pm the place was dead and staff none existent. If Im honest the place could do with a lick of paint and tidying of seats as dirty in places and seating areas ripped. Would I recommend? Im not sure yet this place is in a prime location and will do great under the right management. If Im honest I wouldnt eat eat there as it just dont seem clean enough or enough staff to sort things.
The service was very good, the lady serving behind the bar was polite and helpful, as was the lady who brought the food to the table. The food was very tasty too.
Good local pub, nice food, always friendly and welcoming
Came here yesterday after a joint family funeral for my grandad and uncle, after a very emotional day, the staff and the new owners made our whole family so very welcome and prepared an entire buffet for us..they were amazing! Food was lovely and the service was quality, would definitely recommend.
Lovely food good service really nice staff
Lovely atmosphere and the bar staff are very friendly. However, could do with a selection of non alcoholic drinks like 0% Gin etc, (they had Becks Blue, which I am not a fan of as I was driving and did not want anymore Coke etc.
Me and my girlfriend went in for a quick lunch, and ordered two burgers. One the cowboy burger and a normal. Mine was by far the worse burger ive ever ate and i couldnt finish it as i hate wasting food as i am one of these people who can eat almost anything.it was so burnt, my girlfriend burger was the same, no one asked us if our meal was any good or id politely said it wasnt nice at all as i never complain but felt i had to write this review as it one of the worse meals Ive ever had in a pub
What a delicious Sunday lunch and pudding and best of all I didnt have to cook it. The meal was perfect and the waitress was very attentive making sure our needs were all met couldnt have wished for anything better.
The fish and chips were the best in the area and the chef was great in his presentation but we visited on Sunday for lunch and were dissapointed the with the quality of the meat not freshly roast just sliced beef I can buy from supermarket would pay more for fresh cooked meat. Alan russon
Great place for food. Good selection, great prices with decent portion sizes. A couple of things on the menu werent available, but apart from that everything else was great. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Well definitely be back.
Good Sunday lunch, very good staff, slightly burnt the roasters but was still ok
Would i recommend this venu to anyone - erm! Dont think so, used to visit here all the time pre covid and was our first outing for nearly 2 years but felt it would be a great place for us all to meet again - BAD CHOICE!!We booked a buffet weeks in advance but nothing was as promised. No buffet laid out, no tables/seats allocated for us, the staff were friendly but obviously inexperienced in running a venue of this size. My point of contact throughout was not available for the days prior to or at the date of our booking. The only contact was a call from another member of the bar staff who asked for the balance payment ...."to enable the chef to buy the food for our buffet"????The buffet was laid out on a small 2 person dining table in a corner and would have cost no more than £20. We were provided with small side plates which left something to be desired regarding cleanliness, no cuttlery, no condiments and a tub of coleslaw, still with its lid on and a sliced red pepper were the only things resembling something like salad. The quiche and porkpie were cut so small it looked like a childrens tea party. It was more than evident that everything provided was just what they had left in their fridges and not the buffet we had arranged - nothing was as promised - the staff were eating behind the bar and then serving drinks without washing their hands and all in all I was so embarrassed that i had laid this on for my elderly relatives. Disgraceful
We had to wait 1 hour for our food there only appeared to be 2 staff on . When it arrived the meal was not as big as we had expected for a sunday lunch we only had 2 small roast potatoes 3 small pieces of beef a yorkshire pudding carrots /broccoli /and red cabbage which was very tasty .Then we had to wait 45 mins for our desert which was ordered the same time as our lunch. the lady who bought our meals out even though she was under a lot of pressure kept a smile on her face and was pleasent after apologising numerous times to our selves and other cusomers about the waiting time.we think her name was Heather .
The food was lovely, and everything inside the pub was laid out well to ensure social distancing. We were also told everything we needed to know about how and where to order. Impressed. Our first time out since March...wasnt disappointed. Thank you.
Very busy which is good.Food could have been better. chips And peas seemed as though theyd been kept warm for a long time. There was loo roll all over the floor in the toilet And there was no lock on the door.Service and bar staff were lovely. Its a Shame because I do like going and I think pelsall needs a good pub..but have started to think of somewhere else to go to eat and drink.. maybe some small changes will make a big difference..
Great food. Lovely new beer garden. Pls teach staff what "house dry white wine" is, table not cleared upon completion of meal. Dirty cutlery and a bit of eye rolling when we asked for salt. We sat outside which is beautiful, be mindful to clear tables though...sticky.
This place is a bit hit and miss. Weve had a 50/50 experience of being good value (you get what you pay for, quality wise, cheaper prices but its what you would expect for that price), and awful. My husband is generally pleased with the vegetarian options. The staff have messed up our bookings on more than one occasion. Re fit looks good and the outside area is pleasant to sit in.
Hi went here today and oh how lovely it was. Its nice to go and be treated like best friend or family member. The food was lovely, we both had steak and it was actually cooked perfectly, makes a change. The young lady behind the bar was great very helpful as well as the waitress. Thank you very much. Will definitely go back and will definitely let friends know. Great 5* place x
