Old Gyumri Restaurant in Glendale

Do not recommend at all. We called to make a reservation, and nobody cared to tell us in advance all details. So when we came to parking lot the guy at the valley parking did not offer an option to park at street so we dont have to pay. Straight ahead he said we need to park your car and even after that still we were sure that nobody is going to charge for parking because we almost were parked.Next the service, it was cold and they didnt offer us to turn on the heater until we asked. The heater wasnt working. They said we have to try to turn it on ourselves. We couldnt turn it on too. We ordered food, it came out pretty fast. We didnt wait a long time. Chicken kabob was not from chicken meat, we tasted only eggs.At the end when we were leaving and we were sitting in the car, the server came to us and said that they forgot to tell us about extra 50$ for live music. It was ridiculous. We were leaving, nobody said even a word for that at the beginning.Very disappointed.

Horrible place to go. Overpriced for not good quality food a few plates was charged twice. Check your bill. Hot food was cold, burned. For 3 adults and 2 children was charged $580, no alcohol. Overpriced for cheap restaurant, fast food. Would not recommend

As a non armenian I always wanted to try authentic Armenian cuisine. My sales team celebrated here this past weekend and all I can say is that this place blew my mind. Not only was the food top notch but the service by Luiza took this experience to another level. The atmosphere made this even more in incredible and made me feel like I was in the presence of Armenian royalty. Everything from every dish, to the service, to the ambiance was stellar and if I was a Michelin reviewer I would give this nothing less than 5 Michelin star. Thank you Old Gyumri and Luiza for providing such an authentic welcoming to authentic Armenian culture, food, and traditions.

Not just the food, but the ambiance, make this Glendale Armenian restaurant a unique find. Private outdoor cabanas make for a perfect evening with friends, when the dinner itself is the event.A wide selection of vegan and vegetarian salads — the red bean, a must have. Grilled tapaka chicken, juicy and perfectly charred. The tava jarit potato fried with onions, though simple, make for a satisfyingly savory accompaniment to the meal.If still not enough, the bottle service, hookah and live singing will make an evening all the more eventful.

Place is amazing. Food, patio, atmosphere, service all top notch. Very relaxed atmosphere, great patio,with high quality fresh Armenian food. I was there first time , never had anything like it, so fresh and good and the life music hmmmm for a long time never see something like this 😊 My point is your meal can be fancy or casual as you like, all top notch. Lucky find for us.

Wow, wow, wow. Wish every state had this restaurant! Medievalish ambiance, excellent service and A1 food! What a great experience overall. Cant wait to come back again!

But their prices are like at an upscale restaurant.It feels like they have some special customers and they really don’t care about anybody else.P. S. The Armenian salad (to gowas a decent size, and the tomatoes tasted great but the cucumbers were 👎🏻👎🏻. Also too much onion. Piti (souptasteless, $15 is a ripoff for this size and quality

We came from Colorado and did our cousins 21st birthday here.We had a great time in our own private room. The service was amazing! The staff was really nice. And the food was really good. Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Food is not that good and menu has incorrect prices I don’t like leaving bad reviews but I felt that these reviews were very dishonest and possibly written by ppl who own the restaurant

Omg! Must go. Food is amazing. Even simple salad is soooo good, veggies are so flavorful, meat is absolutely delicious. Here you can find homemade fries! Restaurant design is authentic Armenian. Outdoor patio looks cosy. And if you want to enjoy your company privacy, there is cabins. Place has music every night.

I give 2 stars because the food is okay Service is 0 star 3 girls have no idea what is Service you have to tell them 100 times to bring something was my Daughter Birthday party I bring the candles and the put one only rest the kept never again.

They can improve on customer service but the food is just so authentic and delicious that it is worth it! 100% I highly recommend this place

Obviously due to the pandemic, ordered to go. The food is decent, nothing to write home about. Pork Ribs are very lightly seasoned and grilled and pretty fresh. The tomato cucumber salad with diced green bell peppers was really good, and the beef kabobs were on the money. Why the avg rating? The grilled potato slices werent fully cooked and the #1 reason: The service is absolutely atrocious. The person in charge was a lady with bleached hair and just rude. The two servers didnt know what to say and you could tell they felt awkward. Good luck to them working in that environment!

Service and quality. My first time having armenian food at this quality. We were greeted and served by a really nice lady who went the extra mile. It was so nice for dinner. The outdoor seating was nice. I got the sultani and shish kabob along with an Armenian salad..did not regret it at all. If youre a cheapskate this aint for you.

The food was fabulous and the atmosphere was iconic. You definitely feel like you are dining in Gyumri! I highly recommend the shish kabob meal! Be sure and order Hummus also! The Armenian coffee was also very good!

This is an Armenian restaurant (Gyumri the second largest city in Armeniaserving authentic dishes. The portions are very generous, we chose Greek Salad (deliciousRed Trout (grilledLamb Chops, Chicken Luleh ( a deep fried kabob like presentation), washed down with Tan (yogurt drinkand of course some wine! We ate too much and left with enough containers to last a few days. I can think of no reason why you shouldn’t try Old Gyumri for lunch or dinner if your in the neighborhood.

We came at 10:45 and they said the only thing they could make us was their most expensive item which was some kind of a beef stew which was not what we wanted. They say they don’t close til 12 but their kitchen closes at 11. They should then state this in their ads 😤 We left. And won’t be back.

I have be a customer in Opd Gumri for couple of decades. Same great food and nice place with hospitality. I woul say its one of the best Armenia Kitchens in Glendale. 5 Stars for sure....!

I would give this place a 0 Review if possible. I decided to celebrate my birthday with family and friends. When I looked around, I decided to do it at Old Gyumri which I extremely regret.THE STAFF THAT WORKS HERE ARE PROFESSIONAL “SCAMMERS”. Not only did they negligently charged me for items that I not order (and did not deliver), but also they overcharged me on the prices. In addition, since they saw that we were not sober, they intentionally did not provide me a receipt (that is handwrittenuntil the next day when I requested it. When I received the receipt, I uncovered that they overcharged us by nearly $100. Furthermore, when the two lady waitresses that served me, I requested to speak to the Manager or Owner and they stated they were unavailable (typical lie). This is very unacceptable unethical practices and shame on you guys. I have already notified my family, friends and colleagues to STAY AWAY FROM THIS DISGUSTING FRAUDULENT PLACE. DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!!

My company booked 2 corporate parties here within couple of years. Great service, great Armenian food, very similar to what we used to eat in Russia.

I picked up a order for thanksgiving multiple times as I mention to place a rice they gladly did not take my order correctly upon bringing home the incorrect order I contacted spoke with “Gohar” the person that wrongly place my order which I paid for ! I will never choose this location again! Very unpleasant customer service! First time experience was at worse will not be back!

A nice authentic Armenian restaurant. The food is good, not everything on the the menu is available though. The kabobs and sides were delicious.

I came here as part of a group. Parking is somewhat limited. The service was great and friendly, and the food is delicious. Id definitely recommend the Koo U Soos; it goes really well with the bread.

Best luleh kebab Ive ever had, definitely get the beef. Tons of Armenian specialities here + cheap beer = instant win.

Definitely the worst luleh kabab Ive ever had in my life in LA. Ordered Luleh plate but with 1 chicken and 1 beef, to taste both, chose from "Entree" menu not La Carte, that says you expect a plate of Armenian kabab typically coming with rice, tomato, paper, and stuff, but the waiter asked if we want rice with it too! Took half an hour to prepare the food, even though we mentioned were at lunch time and should go back to work, also theyre mentioned as a fast food "lunch" place in some websites.Finally the food comes, with only 2 short skews of luleh, rice, and a few rings of onion! no tomatopaper. Same with my colleagues shish kabab. The Kabab, if you could call it so, tasted anything but not chicken or beef, and like youre chewing truck tires, maybe the same taste, mostly uncooked inside but burned outside. I rarely leave the food unfinished, or if so, I take the remainder, but left half of each kababs with the rice untouched, and just left the restaurant without argument, already late for work. The waiter and the cashier also gave as different priced menus, the first one with higher prices!I see many 5 start ratings, and as an Armenian I get where they come from. This was my personal experience, maybe we were there in a wrong day! Looks like I should again rely on taco places for lunch in my walking distance. Id like to give 2 star for waiters, since they were not rude at least, but cant.

This a find, when it comes to armenian traditional kebab "horovats" look no further...this is a place for meat-lovers...very nice, I mean really really really good!

Came here for launch. Been waiting for my order for about 30 min which is pretty bad result.Interior made in medieval theme. Pretty dark insideOrdered Lula Kebab with french fries.Plus they addrd bell pepper, skinless tomato and raw (ewwwonion. Tip: Its better to add marinated onion.French fries had oil on it and 50% of it was not crispy.Portion is huuuge. Even tho i was very hungry i was able to eat only half of the portion. Beef meat is nice but pretty dry.Price is a kinda high - $16I will not come here once again - not worth it.

I ate here on one evening with a group of four for dinner. Great food and we had a very helpful server! The rooms were atmospheric. I suggest you come with an appetite. I would eat here again.

Old Gyumri is an amazing restaurant. The decor inside it very unique. The food is delicious. I will be sure to design back next time Im in LA. They serve delicious Armenian food.
