Old City Wine Bar in Knoxville

Amazing food! But for the size of the portions, even with wine pairings, there was nothing I ate that couldnt have been made with cheaper ingredients with the same taste, and I am particularly obsessive about getting the whole experience of food and wine. Amazing though they are, paying $150 per person is absolutely ridiculous. I save my visits to once every few months, though Id go many times more if they balanced their overhead against the final cost better.

The Wine Bar was a very amiable and comfortable environment, with very pleasant and accommodating staff.They had many food options to include amazing happy hour and brunch specials.I personally would recommend a look at their wine flights that are paired very appropriately.

Very overpriced food. Went with 2 friends. Id wanted to try the charcuterie and cheese but you pay by the cheese/meat. Theres no mixed plate so it adds up very quickly. They both ordered a $13 mushroom pasta. I ordered the ahi tacos. 15 min later the pasta arrived for my 2 friends. My food wasnt delivered simultaneously. For $13 it was small (about 3/4 cup of food in a GIANT bowland inedible. We all tasted it and it was very salty as if someone had mistakenly poured a bunch more in. My friends had to send it back. The manager came and apologized, which was nice, but then she said "maybe next time try something else." My friends didnt really want to order anything else off the menu as its pretty limited. We waited another 20 minutes and my tacos never arrived... So we cancelled the order (which I dont believe was ever put in to begin with).

An hour and a half before closing time and the kitchen wasnt making any more food at 8:30pm. Very disappointed. It would have been nice to have been offered anything that was available that didnt have to be cooked. Ie salad, cheese & crackers. Might need to reconsider your hours of operation. If your looking for food and drink look elsewhere.

Great wine list and theres parking across the street. How nice is that? Get the cheese plate nice, thats how nice.

This is one of Knoxvilles true gems. Always a great time. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the staff is incredible. They have a huge menu consulting of many different wine, spirits, and craft beer. They have a great menu of perfect pairing foods. Give this place a try and youll become a regular for sure.

Variety of wine flights and a cozy decor. If you are just starting to explore the world of wine and so far this place has been very educating to be honest (according to what Ive heard so far). Tried their cheese and meat charcuterie which was quite good. Theyve got half off the bottle on thursdays and other great deals all around the week. The in-house sommelier is a wonderful guy and really good coming up with suggestions for you.

Ive been twice, and loved it! The wine flights are fun and the staff is knowledgeable. Add a charcuterie or cheese plate to your drinks, you wont regret it. Great for date night or girls night.

This place is super cool! The staff is way cool, sweet, unpretentious, and extremely helpful. They have an awesome draught beer selection too and plenty of other great choices other than that on their spectacular and enormous wine list. The cellar is a really neat place for a large party. Paul Sellas is absolutely killing the menu (in the best way possible). Everything the guy touches becomes twice as amazing. The panisse is sooo damn good! I recommend the entire place, everything about it, the whole experience, no exceptions.

This is a great place. The location is really nice down in the Old City and its easy to find. The wine selection is super and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The only reason that I gave this place four stars instead of five is that I am personally more of a beer person and this bar is definitely geared towards the wine connoisseur. However, if youre like me dont let that turn you away from it...they serve a number of wine flights and the sommelier can help you find something that just might work for you. And if not they do have a decent selection of mostly local beers on draft and/or bottle for you. Overall, I definitely recommend this place to anyone thats looking for a good place to wind down with a nice atmosphere and a good glass of wine.

We randomly stopped in here and loved it! Great wine selection. I love the option of half glasses and flights. We will be back. Although we didnt try the food, the menu looked tasty.

The wine list is fantastic and the staff knows their stuff. Most of the food is delicious, just stay away from the flatbreads (I think their oven is not up to the taskas theyre always a soggy mess of what should be delicious ingredients.

AWESOME PLACE! Great selection of wines, incredible food, and totally unpretentious. Im a novice wine drinker and their super-friendly and knowledgeable staff were very patient with me, explaining all the different wines, helping me select the ones I like. Now the food was off the charts INCREDIBLE! (Start with the crab dip, you wont be disappointed.The selections of meats and cheeses for the tasting plates I havent seen anywhere else around here. Oh, and the lamb meatballs -- WOW! Its quaint, impeccably clean, the prices are very reasonable, and I think the staff really work hard to make it comfortable and enjoyable. Definitely one of the best places in town.

Went in with my wife for her birthday. She had wine while I had a cocktail. Both were great. Staff had excellent recommendations. Both of us left pleased. We would have tried the good, but had a previously scheduled dinner arrangement we were saving ourselves for. We will definitely be back again!

Love this place! I dont typically drink wine and I had a really great moscato that was sweet and a little bubbly. I appreciated the variety of wines that were listed and noticed that they also serve cocktails. The space is really beautiful.

As a downtown resident, I am always thrilled about new businesses joining the community. Old City Wine Bar is a wonderful addition to the city. The atmosphere is inviting and lively, with a beautiful historic aesthetic. 3 oz portions offer an opportunity to explore a variety of wines and figure out what you like. If youre not into wine but want to enjoy the space with friends, they also serve cocktails and local beers. The moscato I tried was stellar. It will certainly be one of my new go-to spots!
