Ol' Girls Kitchen in Kingsville

This restaurant is an absolute MUST. All of the food is made from scratch and the quality is unmatched. Like eating a home cooked meal at your grandmothers house. Met the sweet ladies who own and run it and was very impressed from the appetizers all the way down to desert. Will definitely be coming back!

When I went over there to go eat once I entered I was getting 1980s vibes and once I sat down and ordered my food Ive received fantastic looking food better than any other restaurants I been in and the dessert was delicious and perfect Im glad I came in I would be happy to come back again.

Have been here twice, and both time excellent! Got the chicken and waffles and my dad got the hamburger steak and onions. Staff is friendly and the place is very historical, such a cool atmosphere. I plan on coming to TAMUK so I look forward to visiting more! The only complaint Ive had towards this place is 1the wait times are pretty long, even for a scratch kitchen, though, I came while it was busy. Just know your food is homemade and is worth the wait, but Id give a bit of grace if you have time to keep. 2My dads hamburger steak with onions had one piece of onion on it. Otherwise, a gem of a place in Kingsville!

Ol’ Girls Kitchen is simply amazing. Home cooking style of food that is really good. I love to go any chance I get, especially on Thursdays which is “Turkey Day” 🙂. If you are visiting the Kingsville TX area or a local resident, I highly recommend you try it for yourself.

I want everyone that reads this to know, this is absolutely the best little homecoming Cafe Mom and I have been too in a very long time! We been here because my Grandmother has been in the hospital and the service, food, and just overall compassion the owner has given us you DO NOT find everyday! Its comforting and just so laid back, when you walk in it smells like your Grandmothers kitchen! You will NOT be disappointed! We are so happy we found this little treasure and we will definitely miss it!!! Yall enjoy!

Very quaint & cozy environment. The service was great. However, the menu was too restricted. It doesnt make very much sense to offer sides that you cannot order unless youre ordering a specific main dish. Substitutions werent well accepted. The food was well prepared but Ive had the same dish at another restaurant that, in my opinion, has a bit better taste. My husband and I are considering returning and trying different dishes.

I Visited the restaurant and was very disappointed. I ordered the grill chicken and mashed potatoes. The chicken was dry and bland. The mashed potatoes tasted liked those from a box. The hamburger my husband ordered was also nothing to write home about. The meat was dry with no taste. I visited this place because the reviews stated the food was made from scratch. This was definitely not the case.

I had the pleasure of trying this place during lunch the last time I was in Kingsville. It was fantastic. Everything is made from scratch. If you like down home southern cooking, you must pay this place a visit. The service was great the food was fantastic. I wasnt sure just what they were getting at with the name until I dined there. Now I get it, it kinda reminds me of my grandmothers kitchen. Just good food wit a homemade taste you cant just get anywhere.

Delicious Tuesday pot roast special. Peach cobbler was also very good.

THE place to eat DELICIOUS, healthy food! I am never disappointed by the food, the portion sizes, or the staff. My favorites are the meatloaf & turkey dinners! Good home cooking at its best...something that I dont get at my house! (sigh Have no qualms about recommending this place; as have always had folks thanking me afterwards. Treat yourself today & get hooked!

OMG I started eating here when my boss would get lunch from here. Let me tell you Thursdays lunches the turkey dinners are my favorite. I wasnt a big on stuffing during thanksgiving until I tried yalls stuffing, and I just fell in love. Everything always tastes so home made which reminds me of home, specially since I am not from here.

Pot roast, carrots and green beans were delicious! The biscuits looked great even though I dont eat them. Tea was crisp and clear (not cloudyso I know it was fresh.

Food was terrific. The coconut cream pie topped it off nicely.

Had the turkey dinner. It was delicious. Everything they make is fantastic. Prices are excellent. Potatoes are from scratch. Not instant. Yummy!!

This is my favorite lunch spot in Kingsville. I come here almost every Friday for work and look forward to having lunch here all week. Everything is made from scratch every day. The pasta in the chicken noodle soup is made from scratch too. I ordered our Thanksgiving sides this year and there were no leftovers! Today they made me 3 homemade coconut cream pies to deliver to my customers.

I eat here every Friday with a couple of friends. It’s our go to place. The food is good and the price is reasonable. I particularly like the soup and salad. The staff is friendly! I highly recommend!

By far my favorite restaurant in Kingsville! The food is fantastic! Homemade home style dishes you’d find at your grandmothers. I recommend the grilled chicken breast with mashed potatoes and green beans, which is an every day staple. They do have daily specials. Make sure to save room for the Cookie Monster dessert 😋😋

Ol Girls kitchen serves the most delicious, homemade food Ive ever had the pleasure to enjoy. The restaurant decor is eclectic and comfortable, with a choice of tables for both small and large groups. Everything on the menu is tasty! There are daily specials and there are some items that are always in the menu. My favorites are Meatloaf Monday and their chicken-fried steak. The staff are friendly and courteous. I would eat here every day if I could!

Ol’ Girls Kitchen is one of favorite places to eat in Kingsville. The atmosphere is very friendly and the employees are fantastic! They provide great home cooked meals, my favorite is the Salmon Patties they are the best I have ever had. I also enjoy the Turkey and stuffing which Is very delicious and serve large portions. They have a large selections of desserts and my favorite is the Coconut Cream Pie. I definitely recommend this restaurant as one of the best in Kingsville, definitely a thumbs up!!!

The meatloaf is amazing. I have never had a bad meal there. The staff is great. Melissa helps to make you feel at home .

I had the Turkey and dressing which was a hardy portion and very filling. I also ordered the coconut cream pie and peach cobbler. The pie was divine, but the cobbler just a tad dry for my liking...good crust though.

Great homecooked food! Kingsville desperately needed a place like this! The chicken fried steak was the best Ive has since moving down here. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. I have not found a place in Kingsville that can rival this place on homecooking. I cant wait to try the turkey!

Hands down the best meal I have had in kingsville in a long time with amazing and friendly service as well. Without a doubt one of my new favorite places to eat!

Was walking downtown when i notify this place today i though oh man home cooking. We sat down to a hard chair that was far from comfortable. Next we looked over the menu and saw the special today was the turkey plate so we ordered two. When the plate reached the table i was a bit skeptical of the food the green beans looked like they were straight from a can, the turkey was barely warm to the touch and the over all food taste was bland the mashed potatoes tasted like out of a box. So much for a grandmas kitchen my grandma would not be caught making tasteless food. This isn’t even the worst part we got up to pay thinking “these plates can’t be more than 7 dollars right?” WRONG!! the total was $29 and some change! Now the drinks aren’t that much but that would mean these plates were a little over $12 which is outrageous based on the taste and quality of the food. Over all experience 0 out of 10!

My favorite "every-day" menu item is the chicken-fried steak sandwich, with mashed potatoes (& gravyand green beans. Some of my favorite "daily specials" include: popcorn shrimp; salmon patties; pork chops; meat loaf. Basically, I havent eaten anything there that I didnt thoroughly enjoy. Oh, and the home-made rolls are delicious too! Get there early, because they are only served while they last.
