MoreThe Museum needs regular update ,maintenance, specially the condition of 4D SFX is not Standard, Video quality is poor, quality of 4D spectacular Glass is very poor, why it is not maintained, we are giving Money for Watching the shows, but still maintenance is very poor
MoreVisited on 12 October 2022. The museum is renovated zobra dilapidated factory. Nice industrial sections and depiction of rich naval history of Odisha. Children play area is there and 4D show is another attraction for kids.
MoreThis place is very good place for visiting with friends and family.
Never miss a 4D movie. Awesome aquarium, mirror maze, historical articles on display.
MoreThis museum is awesome in the museum very interesting and unique things to visit. The best place to visit is aquarium
MoreVery good experience with lots of memories. One must visit with family for a 2 or 3 hours vacation. I loved everything over there like museum part, aquarium, mirrormaze but disappointed with 4k video show. I was expecting a show related to maritime glory of our history but it displayed two, three cartoon short stories. Again, this show is very very risky for kids under 5 years of age and also for old age people. Because you are sitting on a movable seat with lots of jerk movements through out the show. The seat belts are broken, water spills on you rather spraying. My request is to aware people coming with kids or old age, of the risk involved in 4k show before buying ticket.
MoreThis place tells about the maritime history of odisha1. You can come to know about the rich and vast culture of our history which are slowly declining
MoreNice place to gain knowledge about the maritime trade of ancient Odisha as well as the British occupation over it. The campus inside and the park are the best place for getting refreshed from outside busy life....
MoreIt is located near Jobra barrage. Very well maintained. Spacious parking space. Its a must visit for all age groups.
MoreNice place... newly added mirror emaz
Place was crowded. It is right in front of Mahanadi river. It has a variety of tickets and includes museum, aquarium, audiovisual show, mirror maze. Ticket for museum is inr 20 per Indian adult. Mirror maze is fun and its ticket is also INR 20 (separate from main entry ticket). Good for kids. Major part of this museum is the machinery and most of it is Lathe machines. May not be fascinating to the engineers in todays time. Things are well explained but not kept in good condition.
MoreUnless and until I visited the museum, I was like its all boring like all museums ,but I was totally wrong about it. It was totally worth it for me as well as my family .The ticket costed around 90 for each person if you would like to see the aquarium section ,the mirror maze and some other sort of things. Its a good decision when you are planning for a short outing with your childrens. All the things were properly preserved and well maintained with a natural and greenery park for some peaceful time and a canteen also for pouring your hunger out .
MoreYou can book tickets in advance from their website which made very easy to enter and no need to stand in a queue for tickets. support staff are very humble.
MoreMarine stuffs are really good and I loved it. But I think government should look towards it and put more efforts cause its a rare experience for people in the range of Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and close by regions. A little bit more care and enhancement will skyrocket the place. A worthy must visit (atleast once).
MoreIts a nice to recall our boat era and understand the traditional techniques to repair the boat and fine engineering of in and out via Taladanda canal
MoreAmazing place...you will definitely know about the history of odisha and their world class trade system..with the live exhibited equipment.. online ticket booking is available. For acquarium and mirror maze they charge extra money. There is also a souvenir shop.
MoreThe maritime museum offers a splendid look at the ancient voyages from the coast of Odisha to Java, Sumatra, Bali etc. It also has a small aquarium and a great 4D theater. Overall worth the money and couple of hours you spend in it. You can also have a walk along the banks of river Mahanadi just across the street. The Odisha State Maritime Museum dedicated to the maritime history of Odisha and India has been set up at the British era boat building workshop at Jobra, Cuttack which had been lying in dilapidated condition for ages. The foundation stone of the workshop had been laid down in 1866 and most of the buildings, machinery and furnaces in the new museum are of those times superbly restored in their original places. Currently the museum has about 10 galleries, an aquarium, a library, a childrens activity room, a 4D multimedia room, cafeteria, souvenir shop and open air amphitheater. Apart from the restored machinery of the workshop, there are galleries dedicated to navigation instruments and finally on the various rituals in Odisha associated with its maritime past. The aquarium has a great collection of aquatic life.Overall a great introduction to the maritime history of Odisha.“Friendship means a bond between people that connects them and lets them share each others feelings and thoughts. Someone is your friend if you feel like you can tell them anything, and love to spend time with them.”

The workshop was renovated and renovated and converted into the present day Odisha State Maritime Museum in 2013.The exhibits of the museum give an insight into the ancient Odisha’s famed maritime industry. On display are the tools used by the Sadhabas (or seafarers), age old navigation systems and its evolution. The chief attractions are the wooden boat replica’s, the huge boat shed and the lathe which was the largest in Asia during its time. The addition of the 3D shows along with the aquarium section to the museum is a huge draw especially for the kids. The museum located on the banks of River Mahanadinear Jobra along with its finely manicured and maintained lawns makes for a pleasant outing with family.
