Pushkins'ka St, 9, Odesa, Odes'ka oblast, Ukraine, 65000, Illichivs’k
Museum displaying paintings & sculptures from European artists in a 19th-century palace.
Impressive collection
Unfriendly place. It seems that they only cater to locals.
Incredible building!
Not much in there, most the good things are a duplicate, not the real things ,no need to lose your time there
Loved the art piece in it but the place really need a major maintenance
Very nice collection. I enjoyed seeing it.
One of my favourite places to be... It doesnt only offer a great permanent exhibition and impressive permanent ones, but also educative and fun lectures for kids and adults. It definitely stands out among the museums of Odessa.
Good museum. A lot of pictures from 15 to 20 century (not replicasfrom western europe, beautiful interior of 18 century. And I found cool snickers on the picture about ancient Egypt written in 1884
Good day,Great place, interesting time to spend together
Beautiful building and interesting exhibition.
Nice place to visit
This museum is a peace of architectural art - small and modest but still has a glimpse of bygone centuries of the dawn of the intelligentsia. Outside of the building looks like a merchants house, on the ground floor there is a marble staircase decorated with cupids. Collection of Eastern art resembles as simple souvenirs and only a few peaces are worth attention (carved in wood coasters and chairs). Nevertheless, the second floor really conveys the color of previous centuries and opens up space for our fantasy. Being there, I completely disconnected from the outside world and was transported to those days... In the main hall instead of just taking videos I wanted to dance a waltz. Again, the paintings on the second floor were mostly very gloomy and only a couple of them "were able" to got my attentiveness and catch my eye for a very long time and so to give me the pleasure for which I came.Tickets were very cheap (70 hryvnyas usual and 30 for studentsand our visit worth to pay. :)
Not big but nice museum with paintings of european painters. I havent seen the art pieces of Scandinavian painters before, but here you can see them and they are beautiful! But sadly, many of the museums halls are in really bad condition. The museum is in great need of restoration.
A couple of roads down from the Opera House, on Pushkins’ka Sreet is a compelling art museum in a noble sky-blue mansion from 1858. The museum was founded in 1923 and its art comes from a mix of private collections and pieces assembled by Odessa’s university. The name is a little misleading, as apart from a some porcelain, weapons and pieces of furniture nearly all the art is from western Europe, mainly the Netherlands and Italy. There are paintings by Caravaggio, Rubens, Francesco Guardi, Gerard David and Abraham Bloemart.Maybe the standouts are the two “tronies” of the evangelists St Luke and St Matthew by the Dutch Baroque master Frans Hals
One of the better museums in Ukraine.
Very useful and very good 🙂
Interesting and beautiful museum with huge amount of masterpieces. But there is no audio guide (
Its small but everything in there is 1500_1600 and theres some real gems and also not so great but authentic pieces. Its well worth the visit.
Exhibition is incredible, but the buildings condition leaves much to be desired.
Nice pleace but needs to have some refreshments. Very kind staff.
Good collections.
Amazing interieur, the art on display could be better
Really enjoyed our two hours spent here. The modern art was my favourite but all was enjoyable
The museum has an interesting collection and for sure worth visiting if you happen to be in Odessa but I think it is not the kind of museum you would make a trip to Odessa to visit it. The bulding of the museum is so old and I think renovations is much needed!
Fantastic i would never see what they have here in Australia
Worth seeing for the building alone but a reasonable collection of art from across the world in particular a substantial number of Flemish paintings and plaster casts of classical Greek works. I also enjoyed the room filled with various Persian tapestries, weapons, and other artifacts.

Spend around 1,5 maybe 2 hours. Nice museum.
Really great place with nice atmosphere.
Must to see
must go. Except older European painters, you can visit modern exhibitions, which are held very often.
Very nice, except for the antique hall.
Great tour. Limited on original art, but interesting
Typical post-soviet museum. If you are an expert, it may be interesting but it is a question to me.
For art lovers nice and interesting museum.
Very cheap and beautiful pictures, the building is a wonderful palace. but no air condition and direct sun light on the pictures. The statues are mostly replicas.
Old-school museum, excellent exhibitions, but awful and poor inner conditions of the whole building
Very beautiful collection of art! 🎨
Cool stuff from all over the world
The museum is situated in a nice historical building, but the interior is really dilapidated, with paint chipping off the walls and old floors and carpets..
Interesting paintings and monuments
Large collection and admission very low cost.
Has clearly seen better days....
Nice museum. Unpleasant intrudive staff (could be lesser of them i guess). Great exhibition. Bad lightining on second floor, picture are not watchable. Need modernization snd more interactive things.
Nice place but nobody knows English
Mostly paintings. I did not recognize any of the artist, but it was still an enjoyable experience.
Very nice Museum, with a lot of things to see. Beautiful Art. I did like the Drawings a lot and could not stop watching.
Nice from outside, very small collection inside
City center, some rare masterpieces. Staff could benefit from hospitality course.
Nice colection but the building itsefl cries for refurbishement.
