Sleek eatery & lounge in a modern beachfront mansion with upscale Caribbean fare & multiple decks.
This is my second time visiting Oceano. When coming to Puerto Rico I always make a stop to enjoy the food and ambiance. The staff are attentive & you can tell they all take pride in the establishment. The food was fresh and flavors complimented each other perfectly. We ordered the carpaccio, egg rolls, scallops & shrimp mofongo. All 4 dishes were a hit, but the scallops were my favorite dish personally. The scallops were a nice size, paired with a sweet potato purée and cooked medium rare, just as I requested. Watching the sunset was a perfect ending to a perfect meal. Thanks for hosting us!
Beautiful little restaurant right on the beach. Incredible view of the ocean. Great place for a date, attentive staff, solid food. Reasonably priced, all things considered. A place like this in miami or anywhere else on the ocean would be more expensive. My date didn’t like her wine and they replaced it, no questions asked. Egg rolls were good and so was the churrasca.
Met w/ friends for dinner & drinks. Very scenic spot near the beach. Fabulous drinks. Food was ok, very pricey though for what you get. Friendly bar service.
Amazing restaurant! Highly recommend if you are visiting San Juan. The restaurant is right on the beach. Youll listen to these waves crash while you enjoy an incredible meal. Dont leave without trying the Sweet Corn Soup or the Tuna Taretare. Apps, soups, and sides are $10-$15. Entrees are $25-$35. All well worth the price.Shout out to Paul for his great service!
FeaturedAmanda · married on 01/24/2020Juan Carlos is professional while personal and the food and view are perfect!Planning a 40-50 person wedding in San Juan is not easy if youre on a budget, but Oceano fit all of our needs. We started out looking at the hotels but felt the minium consumption was over the top for what you get. Oceano offered a spectacular view, privacy, and amazing food at a fair price. Negotiations and changes to our contract were all handled by Juan Carlos with the utmost professionalism. We were blown away by the tasting and on the wedding day, our guests raved about the food. The bartenders were on point with fast personal service. We had the pork carving station at our cocktail hour on the 3rd floor and the guests seriously would not stop talking about how delicious the pasta was. My husbands 85-year-old Abuela said the pork was on point, and shes a tough critic! With our 39 guests, Oceanos 2nd floor provided plenty of room for dancing and partying and we were not disturbed by any patrons and music volume was never an issue. Even if wed had all our 50 guests RSVP I dont think it would have been too tight. The DJ was able to have music on both the 2nd and 3rd floors simultaneously.Do yourself a favor and have the white glove service! The staff at Oceano were so professional, none of my guests realized it was a buffet. The service was phenomenal. No guests waiting in lines or fumbling and spilling dinner on their dresses!Thank you so much Juan Carlos! We really had the best night ever dancing and partying all night with our family!
Came here for dinner and had a decidedly mixed experience. To be clear--the food was great. I had the churrasco egg rolls to start along with the shrimp and beef lo mein and passion fruit juice. Amazing. I could eat those egg rolls and drink that passion fruit juice until I die.The downers were things like the lighting (it was almost dark outside where we were seated in a somewhat cramped corner...my wife needed to use her phones flash light to read the menu), a quick rainstorm that interrupted the start of the evening (the staff was good at whisking everyone inside and re-setting tables, howeverand sent us guests who were outside rushing inside for cover, and a very loud party seated near us that did not let up throughout our dinner. This was not ideal. I am a fan of the restaurant though and our waiter provided great (though not expedientservice.
The food is EXCELLENT and you got the best view while listening to the waves. We were so lucky to have the full moon shining above.
View was gorgeous; that said, both food and service left a lot to be desired.Good place to grab a cocktail though!
The view is amazing. I think the food was fine, even good. It was just not as good as I expected. The drinks were over priced and small. And I thought that the plastic furniture was a miss. Don’t get me wrong, I still have it 4 stars. I just was not as impressed as my friends thought I would be.Staff - very friendlySpace - plenty of room for a familyPrices - on the high sideAtmosphere - the view!
Cous cous seafood paella was way too salty for me.....but the calamari sticks was very good
Fantastic seafood by the sea. Romantic atmosphere (maybe a little darkand delicious food. You couldnt ask for more! Definitely a must stop for a special occasion!! Well be back!
Nice beach front restaurant with nice ambiance. Had the Sunday brunch buffet. Great selection and food taste pretty good. I thought It was a bit pricey but you pay for the view. I would go back again next time visiting the island.11/2/2019As promised I returned to this beautiful island a year late with my bestfriend for her birthday and had dinner at Oceano. I have to say our experience was absolutely amazing. Our dinner table was outside on the patio overlooking the ocean which was absolutely breathtaking. The food (we had the airline chicken and steakand drinks delicious. The service was unmatched. Everyone made us feel so special and my bestfriend had the best time!!! Thank you Juan and everyone at oceano for unforgettable night.
Our server FELIX was amazing, engaging, and super kind. With how busy it was on Christmas Eve, Felix made it as if he wasn’t rushed at all. The food was probably in the top 5 dinners we have ever had and we come from California and Chicago.. the calamari is a must have, and the tuna tar tar is just phenomenal
Great food and service. Ordered a number of dishes which were flavorful and mouth watering. The ceviche was stellar. I wasn’t keen on the swordfish as I liked the prep at another restaurant. The chicken was quite nice. I think this is a solid spot and worth 5*. Highly recommended.
Ive spent my adult life cultivating a palate that can appreciate the finest things the culinary arts have to offer, but in my heart, I am still a poor kid from the woods. I love fried foods, I love spice, I love charred edges and imperfections in the finished product. I had bacalaitos from a stall off the beach where a guy was chopping open coconuts with a machete for people to drink and where none of the staff spoke English, and the food blew me away. This was not a cheap dinner and it just didnt grab me. It was all beautifully presented, but none of what I had was much good. I had some scallops that seemed slightly underdone with a sweet potato puree that didnt taste like it was seasoned at all, just brought out.Granted, the other 3 members of my party did not have the same experience. They seemed perfectly satisfied with their meals from what I can recall. Im not going to say this is a bad restaurant, because its not. It just didnt leave much of an impression on me, and I dont intend to return. The stalls in Piñones are more my speed anyway.
Food is great for taste and quality. The value is dependent on who is ask... portion size is wack! Definitely a touristy vibe + ritsy locals. You can still get a good taste of Puerto Rico at this place but I wouldnt put this place on repeat if youre not staying on the island long but worth 1 try for sure! The best thing we tried were some sort of egg rolls on their appetizer menu, OMG!
The food was delicious and it was great being right off the ocean hearing the waves . The setting was very romantic, and the staff was awesome. I was greeted with a smile and everyone spoke. They also ha e a hot flashy bar with cool bartenders
Not only was the food delicious, the ambiance was amazing. The restaurant is located right on the beach in a prime location. We were visiting from South Florida and it was the type of restaurants we love to go to. I would most definitely come back and recommend this spot.
The Sunday brunch was very delicious. The restaurant was able to accomodate our large party for my birthday celebration and my seafood allergy (decision was made to accommodate all parties involved with different food palates). Beautiful view of the beach from our table.
My favorite restaurant that I ate at the whole time I was in San Juan!! My fiancé and I just got engaged and wanted to eat seafood somewhere nice when we came across this place. We didn’t make a reservation like we probably should have so we were originally seated inside. In the matter of minutes the Manager Mark asked if we would like to sit outside where there was a beautiful night view of the ocean since a table had just opened up. Our waitress April was also very friendly. We ordered the surf and turf which was well worth every penny! April gave us a glass of champagne on the house to celebrate our engagement. Excellent manager and team, great service, and delicious food that will not disappoint!! I highly recommend this place.
Great food with a great view. Place is a little very small and tables are really small too. Little congested but delicious food.
It is unbelievable that this restaurant has such high rating. The decor is very cheap and almost feel like fast food style if it was not for the dim light. The tables and chairs are straight up plastic. What’s worse, the table was not even stable. A three dollar sign restaurant has a shaking table. Are you kidding me?!At least our waiter was nice, but not exactly great though. He was trying to tell us all the dishes even though those dishes were on the menu. So what’s the point? You are just reciting the menu while it was hard to hearing all the ingredients.I ordered a sunset cocktail, which was good. The appetiser was tuna tartare and it was not great. The tuna was so bland and you eat it to avocado on top, which is tasteless overall. For main course, we ordered scallops and seafood paella. Finally something good. The paella was using the same Spanish rice, but it was not cooked the authentic way. The scallops, on the other hand, was the highlight of the night. It was cooked perfectly and I loved the combination with smashed sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes has the creamy texture and sweetness to wrap around scallops. That was the best scallops dish I’ve ever had. Finally, the deserts. How awful. The only good thing was it was my birthday, so the sparking candle looks amazing.I do not recommend anyone coming to this restaurant and paying so much for mediocre food.
Great food and an amazing view of the ocean from their elevated deck. Get the calamari fingers - they are breaded with yuca and are thick and juicy (the server and manager both explained how they use the meatier part of the squid vs the tentacles). The sauces they come with are also good - we preferred the sweet mango salsa over the aioli. For an entree we had the ceviche (its an appetizer, but big enough for an entree if youre not that hungryand the swordfish. The swordfish was cooked well (medium rare, just like youd eat Tunaand is served over a bed of mixed greens and ginger/soy based sauce. Order it with a side of rice so you can stop up the juice afterwards!
Its the first time Ive been to this restaurant, I am very demanding with every place I go to eat and I have to tell you guys this place is amazing! The food, the view and the service was excellent. I am definitely coming back and recommend it. Our waiter was Ivan Agostini, he is polite, accommodating, he even took us pictures. So not only a great waiter but also a photographer lol. Also the manager came to us and was very polite; the whole team was. Im in love with the place. @_crysdiamond_
Greta food and service! We went at night, so couldnt enjoy the beautiful views as much, but the open air and sounds were quite enjoyable as they were. Food took some time, but we had a party of 8 so it was totally within reasonability. Great options for food and drinks and food prices on it all. Loved the time there
This was a great dinner, I really liked the outdoor seating overlooking the beach, we started with drinks, they were on the pricey side, mine was very appealing but didn’t taste like anything at all, that being said ,Food wise we had a fantastic dinner, we walked from the laconcha which was like one block away, we started with the corn soup and the ceviche, both top notch then for dinner I had the surf and turf and my husband had the shrimp mofongo, my filet was huge and tender, perfect, the lobster was just ok, being from New England I’ve had better, the truffle marscapone Mac and cheese was great, shrimp mofongo was so delicious, a must try
I really liked it here! The view was beautiful! The cheesesteak rolls were amazing! Customer service was good too! We didn’t have a reservation, so initially the hostess wasn’t sure if we could get in. We waited about 5 mins but she was able to find us a table! The cheesesteak rolls and chocolate mousse cake were so good that we made a reservation to eat there the next evening lol. The restaurant is on the beach, so the view was beautiful during the sunset!!!
We were able to get an amazing ocean front table for two around 9pm, same day at Oceano. we were waited on my Gabrielle who was accommodating and thoughtful. The food was served warm (not very hot). The flavors were good. The appetizer was excellent. We mentioned to Gabrielle that we were celebrating a special occasion, she made it a wonderful evening with sparkling wine and dessert too.
Excellent food. Awesome atmosphere. What an evening having dinner on the beach not rushed at all. Our waiter Diego was awesome.
Amazing Dining Experience! This was by far one the best dining experiences Ive ever had. The service was super. The staff was excellent, and the food was incredible! This place is on the beach and has a great view! Our staff attendant was Diego. He was super attentive and detailed!
OMG this place is amazing from beginning the Horst was friendly I made reservations for my birthday for oven front table and phenomenal view the waitress was phenomenal as well after eating appetizers and salad the replace the silverware the steak eggs rooks was amazing the chicken apricot was to die for just great experience very elegant and a bit pricey but worth it after all I was on vacation for my birthday great place t strongly recommend
Food was really good. Portions big enough to share. Cocktails were good too. Right on the beach, but at night there isnt much of a view from the 2nd floor because of the darkness. But its pretty anyway. Servers were nice and worked well together too provide good service.
This was the perfect spot for a chic little birthday dinner. The location is prime! The food was incredible and reasonably priced. I will be going back on my next trip to PR. They use open table too, which comes in handy. It’s modern decor with a balanced seafood and turf menu. You have to go!
Oceano is a beautiful restaurant located directly on Condado beach. It’s an open concept place so even if there’s no more table on the terrace you still feel like you’re outside. It’s breezy with a modern touch and a minimalist decor. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. Would definitely go back!
Amazing view, good service, and excellent food. Celebrated my 30th birthday here and was not disappointed. The Branzino was to die for. Reasonably priced, fresh, and delicious. Good wine, good people, beautiful sunset on the beach. Couldnt ask for more!
So far this has been the best food I have had in the area. I ordered the surf and turf and it was amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender. It was a nice atmosphere with friendly staff. If I am ever in the area again, I will re visit Oceano.
Loved my entire surf and turf dish!!! Very tasty!!! The red snapper dish could have used a little more seasoning. The chocolate cake dessert was good as well...according to my friends and the plate!!! 🤗 The best restaurant in the area❣ And Deigo the waiter made the night out very pleasant as well and the scenery was lovely!!!
Went for lunch & sat on the patio. The atmosphere is amazing. Few items on the menu was not available like seafood paella but I was very happy with my salmon with quinoa with a side of brussel sprouts.
In Puerto Rico for vacation and driver recommended Oceano. WOW!! Tuna tartare was amazing and Shrimp Mofongo even more so. Sat outside with beautiful view of ocean. Cant wait for my next visit.
Our waiter Isaac was the best! I wasnt even hungry until he suggested the ceviche. That was the best ceviche Ive ever had.Our drinks were also fantastic. So was the view from the patio. Will be back!
Lovely experience. Cool atmosphere. Juan, our waiter, was AMAZING. The food was stellar. You can’t go wrong. Appetizers: salmon carpaccio, ropa vieja. Entrees: bronzino special, scallops, swordfish, churrasco, paella. Dessert: chocolate brownie/cheesecake/mousse, key lime pie. Highly, highly recommend.
Best food in Condado (and we tried many restaurants in the area)We went here twice and every single dish was excellent. We are vegetarian and loved the corn and pumpkin soups, the salad, the main veggie dish, and even a side of rice and beans. So good! The restaurant has three distinct floors, two of them outdoor with a beautiful breeze and oceanfront view. The staff were incredibly nice and kid friendly.
My favorite resturant in San Juan located on the Beach with great views and excellent service. We loved it so much we ate there 2 times in 4 days!! The Manger was so friendly helpful and the staff is superior!!
This place is a must if you are visiting San Juan! I want to say that the food was great but the service was AMAZING!! The staff were very attentive and professional. We ordered the calamari and ropa vieja for appetizers which were quickly bought out, they were tasteful and great portions. For entrees we both ordered the surf and turf which was the best steak and lobster I ever had, the lobster was fresh and steak cooked perfectly to my liking. Overall the experience was 5 stars, the cherry on top was the spectacular view.
Phenomenal experience. The mojitos were everything I hoped for, and the calamari sticks the bartender recommended were much better than your standard calamari rings in a basket. The mofongo and red snapper were also superb. The view aint bad either. Well worth your time eating here for lunch and/or dinner.
Great restaurant in the heart of Condado. It is an up scale place but completely worth it. The food is great and they have options for everyone. The beachfront view will make your afternoon or evening peaceful with the sound of the waves breaking on the shore along with a soft breeze. So if you want to have a very Romantic dinner this is the place to consider.
Youre paying for the view and the service here. However, both are spectacular. Everyone is always making sure you are doing okay, and the view truly is unmatched. They also have amazing drinks. I wasnt too fond of the food. It really didnt taste as good as the price made it seem. Everyone also speaks perfect English. Overall, I would return for drinks only.
I cannot even explain in words how amazing everything was here!!! First BRADLEY HE IS THE MOST WELL ROUNDED KNOWLEDGEABLE SERVER IVE EVER MET! He knows where all the food is sourced from. He never once said i dont know. Because he knows and loves this place that shows! It was my 1 year anniversary. We booked on open table. NO WAIT! Walked right in beach front table! Got there around 6:45pm got to see sunset on the beach!!! Bradley and multiple servers went above and beyond to volunteer to take pics for us! Im a picture taker i loved this! I cannot say how everyone there smiles. Stops helps you refills grabs what you need. Everyone is your server! LOVE!!!The FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!!! Duck mofongo RED SNAPPER i wanted to lick my plate! The Yucca crusted calamari was sooo delicious i couldve eaten 10! I love this place! I live in Atlanta. Its not the "Ocean" but please consider a new restaurant. Id live here. Bring Bradley!!! LolMy Anniversary will always be remembered that food the view. Laughing with Bradley. I took a picture of him as he brought some complementary champagne for our Anniversary! Amazing!!! 10 stars!!! 100% satisfaction!I LOVE THIS PLACE! Price is well worth it! Portions were great! A MUST GO ON YOUR TRIP TO PUERTO RICO!!! Did i say I love Bradley?
Food above average, but would expect upscale food for the upscale price.Ropa Vieja was appetizer - best thing we had that night. This was actually very good.Pumpkin soup was lackluster. Scallops cooked correctly, steak overcooked. Flavor was ok.
Oh. My. God. The food was amazing, everything we had. The seafood ceviche, the duck mofongo, the fish the drinks, I cannot express how much you will be sorry if you miss it. I suggest a reservation, the food is good and everyone knows. There is also amazing beach front seating on the patios! I would suggest this as a date restaurant, families go but I would not take kids. Its a very sexy place and the bar was amazing! Great, just great everything.
