Oceanium in Katwijk aan Zee

People are smoking everywhere. There was not a staff member in sight. People were throwing things at the animals. Children screaming at the animals. Again no supervision from staff whatsoever. Hyenas are next to the railway - horrible. The Plastic awareness section was so underwhelming. Maybe one family walked through there just to get to the exit. Poor to absent information on all of the animals. Where is the awareness about their purpose there? What is their life like? As a leader of "zoos" in Europe and as a 10 top breeding of endangered species in the world, they need to set a better example. Has a lot of potential to be a great center for education and haven for animals. (currently the space to animal size ratio also seems off.)

I has a good variety of see life. It took us more than 1 hour to see everything. Highly recomended.

The oceanium is great, but the glass and water are quite murky, not like the photos shown on the internet of clear blue water. But overall it was a Good experience. There is an expo further inside but it is in Dutch only :(

Beautiful place to visit, specially with kids to know about our oceans and the different aquatic species.

Thoroughly enjoyed the oceanium in the Rotterdam zoo, its a great place to spend with kids. I would highly recommend this place to keep the kids occupied. The place also has decent counters for food.

Its a unique feeling to walk through the tunnel around which there is a huge aquarium with fish, but on the other hand the place is smaller than you think, always crowded and loud

Great Zoo with lots of skilled volunteers who will happily tell you about the animals. Its currently recovering from the off period during Corona but investing in new animal habitats.

If youre in for a great experience, this is the place to be.. Walking between the fish almost.. Unbelievable.

Mostly indoors which is good for visiting during the rainy season. Many varieties of sealife with stunning views. Lots of space, bathrooms and is clean. plenty parking available as well. Good for kids as well

Fabulous part of Blijdorp zoo.

Very nice part of the zoo. Unfortunately the tank after the murane just wont startup with the nature corals.

One of the better aquaria in the Netherlands, especially the large under water tube. Just try and find a moment without screaming and running children...

Love to walk among the fish in the underwatertunnel. The little one of 1 year and 5 months was there for the first time, was impressed and loved it all

You will not get be disappointed that you take some time out your life to check it out, its not biggest or best I ever saw BUT I had nice time seen a lot of cool underwater life, so go for it, spend 1 h walk with creatures of under water surface
