Ocean Basket Oakfields in Benoni

One of our favorite places to eat out.

The food was absolutely awful and the amount of food for sure not worth the money , I have put a complaint in already on the day after no reply as yet not even as much as sorry about our experience , so even in that category they are very unprofessional.

OB is really getting very expensive. The food was not too bad, not great, but not wow. But yah, where do one go for variety of fish dishes? Must say, the portions for the same meal was better than the OB at Brentwood though. Service was very good though.

2nd time we went to OB Oakfields its excellent and never disappointing. Myself and Hubby enjoyed ourselves food was excellent as usual. # Bottle of wine on the house is icing on top of the cake

My wife and I enjoyed an evening at OB. Place looks very modern, and we enjoyed eating there. Food was delicious. We were also offered a bottle of wine and could take it home if it was not finished.

We visited for lunch on a Sunday and was very impressed. The restaurant has a nice and fresh look. The tables and menus look neat and clean. The service was excellent and most of all - I could not fault the food either. We had hake and veggies, the samon bowl, fish bites for the kids and a choclate lava dessert with ice cream that was truly delicious.Well done OB Oakfields! For an old franchise store you are doing better than some of the newer ones 😉

Arrived to a restaurant barely busy, meaning that the following issues are not excusable... Firstly I was handed a warm drink with no ice (not a deal-breaker), then when my food arrived it was ice cold. To top it off they left out an order of vegetables saying that it was on its way. After finishing my cold meal it still hadnt arrived and I had told them to leave it. We decided to ask for desert in a takeaway and ordered cheesecake. We took the cheesecake home and opened it only to discover that it was still in its packaging that ocean basket orders it in, and FROZEN SOLID. Im genuinely unimpressed and can say you have lost a customer for life

Food arrived luke warm only thing hot was the chips.. Lemon butter sauce seemed as if it was a new recipe and was not great.Highlight of the evening however was the ocean basket rose wine

The waitres did not know, when asked about the afordable red house wine, but eventualy presented us with that. And wewaited a long time for our account. (We are pensioners, and this is a one off in about 2 months, because we realy love seafood)!!!

We ordered fish and chips and a platter for oneThe fish was full of bones from the first bite.we called the manager to be told thats the way he gets it from head office nothing they can do or we must order the king klip. The platter for one was not worth the money very disappointing

Waiters looks at you asif you are nothing. First order wrong second order raw food. Very bad experience. Manager also has an attitude. Never ever again

I like the food offered by Ocean Basket and in this regard the Oakfields Ocean Basket held up their end of the deal. But thats where it more or less ended. Ambience could be described as non-existent to austere, service levels barely adequate - I would go back only if I specifically felt like having one of their dishes - there is nothing else attracting me to this utilitarian outlet.

Im sorry to have to say, but Im quite disappointed in tonights service. Firstly, none of the phone lines were working. We then placed our order online, when we got there no one knew what was going on.Our fish had so many bones in it, and the grilled hake portions were dry and broken, as if they had gotten stuck on the pan. And we were so looking forward to our dinner :(

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere inside and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food was great and the dessert was delicious. Its also located in Oakfields shopping centre which is ideal. Would specifically recommend going here for seafood. Overall a good experience and will be back

The food was not the quality I am used to from ocean basket. The kingklip and prawns was overcooked and stringy and tough. The flavor was fine, and was still edible. Not sure if I will go back for a while.

I enjoyed their prawns platter and sauces. It is a welcome fish and seafood option to all other restaurants. Great place for groups or a couple on a night out. Pricing is fair.The atmosphere is calming and soothing like the namesake. The seating is comfortable and wheelchair friendly.Staff are friendly and professional.Abundance in parking.

Food is good here, and service is normally quite fast. Staff are friendly and helpful. Very noisy, Greek type vibe here, so you battle to communicate around a table if your hearing is not good, but youre too busy eating to talk anyway! Gets very busy on weekends at night. Lekker place!

The food is good, the waiters are friendly and there is never a long wait for your order. All in all, its always an enjoyable experience. The play area is not bad, considering the space they have to work with. I give only 3 starts because on more than one occasion there has been damage to the jungle gym netting which is dangerous for the smaller kids playing, without even a warning sign.

Lovely decorative mid priced sea food restaurant. Service was good and the food tasty. It was a busy evening making it very noisy and I found it difficult to understand the conversation at times.
