Very disappointed with my overall experiance. No flow in the resturant. Aircon inside not working. They brought the table placemat after the food had been served. Even when I asked for the bill the bill folder was dirty. This is not what you should get from this top franchise... Great location but poor management.
They took too long to take my order, even though they were all standing around looking bored and depressed. I did notice that when local men would arrive they were more attentive to them and they would get their food faster. I ordered fried prawns and calamari. Everything came out cold and was squishy like if it was microwaved. Definitely wouldnt recommend this place. Customer service was bad. They only came once to bring the food and then to bring the check. Expensive meal and not worth it.
We went as a group to dine earlier in the week and boy was I disappointed. The server did her best to tend to all of us, it was the food that was shocking. Firstly, my food was cold but I was at the point of eating my braids, so i ate it. Secondly the prawns were overcooked and i was served maybe 10 chips strips. And this is just my food, i dont want to get into the other dishes as time just will not allow. My advice to management, i realise that times are tough but serving sub-standard food is how you ensure closure.
Not exactly the same taste as its South African counterpart . But still yummy ..

Waited more than once over 1 hour for sushi. Reason (restaurant was apparently very busy-not half the tables were full, then it was apparently the busy take away servicepoor management.

The Staff looking at me if I was stupid, while I was choking on a fish bone.I also sufferend from mild Food Poisoning for the past 2 days. (I will never go back there againThe managers need to train the staff better on hospitality and dealing with people choking...

I had such rude staff ‘assist me’. Actually no, I had to find someone, everyone was sitting at a table looking at me. I asked for Mayo with my sushi, I got the same sauce I dip my calamari in. I ordered from the same ocean basket in Whk 3 years ago, had the same BAD experience, decided to try it out again, and it is not worth it. No wonder I never see any customers there. Sad.

Service was absolutely horrible. Didnt receive any napkins or cutlery until asked for it. The waiter was unpleasant to talk to and the food was averagely bad.
We went for supper at 18:00. Tables was not cleaned after previous guests. On top of bar counter a lot of empty cans and bottles. Food counter was a mess. Table cloths dirty. Not enough staff. The kitchen was Very busy with take away meals. Not a nice experience.
The experience was great i love their sea food! Although they need abit of improvement on service and also stock available in terms of their drinks
I was very disappointed with the service I have received. If it was possible to give a 0, i would have. The manager Goreth seems she does not have control over her staff. I would not recommend anyone visit this establishment or franchise at the Grove. Her attitude towards returning customers is appalling. If I may give a recommendation, the owners should intervene. Take a note from spur and provide the owners number to report bad service. If your reviews are anything to go by you will be receiving numerous calls a day
The food is dismal and service very poor unfortunately, great location but wont be returning.
Extremely bad service, wanted to order a takeaway but, not one waiter came to assist us, we stood there looking like fools while they kept on passing by without assisting. One waiter finally asked us after 5min but, she didnt want to assist and eneded up pointing to another waiter that also did not want to assist, making us feel like our money was not important we ended up leaving and went to another restaurant. Will never go back there ever!
Slow service, inconsistent portions. Poor service from Waitrons. Despite popularity they need to step up their game.

Absolutely disappointing. Dirty and chipped dishes and bad service from an unfriendly waitress. They also ran out of bread rolls on a Monday long after lunch time was over. Unacceptable. Side sauces for a table of 4 in extremely small dishes and only enough for one person. During Covid times, no health and safety measures are taken. Clients’ hands are not sanitised and tables are not spread out. Menus aren’t even wiped off. Mine still had butter on from who knows when. Will never return to this restaurant again. Manager didn’t even check up on our table once and we waited for our food for over an hour.

Ocean basket has gone backward. To take an hour and a half to get through lunch for 4 people sharing a platter and 1 fish and chips is not great. Platters are still good and value for money but fish portion and quality have been disappointing. There are better places to go. This is second poor service experience in a row.

I have never experienced a restaurant with such bad service. Would not recommend ocean basket at the Grove to anyone. Seated ourselves, then called for a waiter. After 20mins still no one came. Went inside to ask if they can help us, yet no one came.
We phoned this so called restaurant and asked what time they will close, we showed up and hour and a half earlier and they said they are CLOSED with people sitting at their tables. You should just f*cking close if this is the way clients are treated
You would think that the customer service at this specific Restaurant matches the mall that it’s located in. Your waiters will be the reason you’ll close shop one day.
First of all we found our own table to sit on, no waiter was willing to direct or assist us upon entry , they were all busy chit chatting near the teller side.Second of all, our food came with no food towels, hand wipes neither a bowl to wash our hands , upon asking this waiter she indicated that all these were stopped due to insufficient stock.Thirdly, we found a bug in our cordial 1liter drink.Overall the service at ocean basket grove mall really needs to improve.
My wife used to love Ocean Basket. No more for us. We found a cockroach in our takeaway. Enough said...
The prawns was old and the MED SALID that they dont even know what "med" stands for (medetaranian saladwas over cooked and we confrunted the manager and at this place it is not the customer is right insted he argued and argued and would not even apologize for the poor food... and ouer waiter struggle to speak English so understanding him was very difficult
First of all, a huge thank and shout out to our amazing waitress, Penny! She was the most friendly, helpful and sweetest person. Quick to make suggestions and fast to ensure that we were happy and stayed that way. She is a true asset to this establishment.The food too was great, and could not be faulted. Our only criticism was that the restaurant floor was a bit dirty on our arrival at our table, but Penny sorted that out for us with haste.
We came here for lunch and we both ordered sushi. It took longer than expected, but the portions were decent and the food was good. The restaurant wasnt that busy and there were plenty of staff, so Im not sure what exactly took so long. Especially since you dont actually even have to cook sushi.
If I could rate them a 0 I would, most pathetic service in the history of bad service wow!! Staff and manager have no customer service knowledge at all!! PATHETIC - AVOID AT ALL COST...
Service was pretty horrific, we got there and no one attended to us, we then proceeded to and tried to seat ourselves, a waiter came up to us seemingly annoyed, and gestured to us which tables we should sit at. It took 20 minutes for a waiter to come and take our order. When the food arrived the waiter was nowhere to be found we had to go looking for him when we wanted to pay the bill.The menu is nice, with a broad selection of seafood. The decor and setup is lovely. We had sushi and it was average, definitely wont be going back or recommending it.
We are waiting for the food 1 hour. A lot of things are out of the menu as well. Will I come here again? NO! THANK YOU to Penny our waiter for good service. The food I got was so little that looks like a starter and not like a main course
Ocean basket at the Grove mall of Namibia has the worst service in the entire country. The waiters are lazy, forgetful and often do not even attend to new customers that get seated. When you call upon one of the waiters they ignore you too. It’s unacceptable and complete trash. The restaurant often serves old food.White customers are treated much better by waiters.Do better.
Very slow service. Unfriendly staff. Rather go to John Dories, its a much better experience

It was very full today. We arrived at 12h00. Food only got served at 13h00. Had to clean our own table. Upon serving of the dessert the waiter apologized that he cant find any more spoons. So should I eat my cheese cake with my fingers? At least the food was good.
Lively restaurant with a good offering of seafood from sushi to fish cakes. The food is okay and the so is the service. If you sit out side it can get noisy as it is very much a family restaurant.
Very nice fishery, when busy you might wait little longer for food. Very nice beer.
The staff is friendly and the food is what you expect from Ocean Basket. Then place can het very busy and they might not always have a table available.
