Best sea food in Kenya

This platter was everything...serves 2, more thsn emough! Ocean Basket has been changed to some other restaurant but some of the items on the menu still remain.

The place is really amazing .....it has some clean high tech washrooms and amazing customer service. .....they are very loyal and have a great attitude moreover the food is high quality while being fairly priced and having large quantities so u dont forget your visit there.....it is sparkling clean. ....and has the best reviews. ...have a blast!!!

Terrible service. Ordered fish tilapia fillet. Usually it starts with a 2 ounces of bun with a variety of sauces. This time after waiting for close to 20 minutes they say they have stopped offering this. I cancel the order. No remorse shown. Didn’t even bother to ask me if they could be of any help or can assist in another way. It’s me who had to get up and call the Manager ( a ladywho incidentally was the one who took the order. Requested for a feedback form ( which they usually offer everytime I eat there ). This time whew they are like finished !!

Good food and great customer service

Great food and also a good place if you would like to try different dishes not common to you. Its located at the oval in west lands. They also have good wine choices and the waiters know there stuff.. 👌🏾

It can be a little quiet, but with that considered this is still a great place. There is a good variety in their sea food and it is fresh and cooked well. Starters are especially delicious but all food is good. The atmosphere is also great due to its outdoor seating, but like I said can be a tad quiet at times. Its not my first time there, and certainly wont be my last either.

Disappointed since last visit a year ago. Menus worn and dirty. Service 3/10, fresh juice undrinkable, salad dressing made it inedible due to being plain bitter lemon juiceOnly saving grace was fish was well cooked and tasty - unfortunately not enough for a return visit as not worth the money

Food portions are okay. However the meal was cold. All meals take 25 mins to be served as stated on the menu. Drinks are meh...

For the seafood lovers, this is the perfect place to go. Their services are quite great and fast. You dont need to wait for too long for your meal to be presented to you. The cocktails are also quite good. They also have platters that are suitable for groups. Such a thrilling place. Youll not regret

I literally live sea food.I ordered prawns ..It was fingerlicking.The weather that day was not good you can see me th ere in my hoodie .Service was good.

The food was good and fresh and the ambiance was quiet and enjoyable. I’m not from Kenya but I thought the prices were a little high. The service was quick and efficient.

They’re service was excellent, we were served by a humble lady who was very professional. Their cocktails were averagely priced and I got to sample quite a few of them and passion ‘caiproska’ was my favorite. The place has good ambience and clean lavatories. Definitely going back there to sample a variety of sea food.

Great place for sea food!!....very family friendly, however it could improve by having a baby changing area.

The ambience was great and outdoor seating is available. The waiters are friendly and helpful. One agreed to even charge my phone for me. The food didnt take long and it was exemplary. They also have a late night bar for late night outs and the music was great. Definitely going back

The Oval branch is in such an amazing spot. Loved the seating space, they have both indoors and outdoor seating. You can see the chefs and especially if you love sushi its fun to watch them prepare it for you. The cocktails were good and the outside bar area is a cute addition. Our waiter was very helpful, patient with us and kind. Their sea food is fresh and tasty and the portions are quite reasonable.

Good looking restaurant in a nice mall. Surrounding is not so pretty, but this is quite common in this area of Nairobi.Food was good, but shrimps I ordered didnt look like those in the menu at all. They werent crispy, like they were just warmed in a microwave.Overall impression is good, place looks like those in Europa but they need to work on detales.

Lovely environment, great food fabulous customer service. Just love the change, the choice of boys over sex alluring girls made such a world of difference for me. Ts time to break this fake illusion of sex camoflouge as an end to evrything. Great boys make great workers n future leaders

The food and ambience was amazing. Fresh seafood and quite filling portions. However, the staff seemed disinterested and distant and had to be constantly reminded of orders. Also very few heaters were on due to lack of gas cylinders making the outside area chilly and unpleasant if far from a working heater. It is the cold season so this is an area they should not fall short on.

Its a nice place. The sushis Ive eaten where not bad but I doubt it was fresh fish the salmon was without any taste. But on average it was OK and there was this evening a nice ambiante due the presence of a musician brandt.

this is my second visit to ocean basket. Both times disappointing...! the ambience is great but the food doesnt come close to my experience in other ocean baskets in Africa. My last visit with my kids...the prawns were flat...not tasty at all, my sons fish wasnt an A either, we decided to have desert to at least cover for the disappointing meals ,but the ice cream wasnt great either. I was given a customer comments card & I gave my honest opinion. we left with the kids and went somewhere else...

I went to this place on a week day (Tuesday evening). Great place it is, nice ambiance for lovely dinner while chatting. Great and quick service. I wanted to eat prawns and my palate was ready...They were good - except they dont spice them while cooking. no salt, no pepper, no spice at all. The spices are provided at the table which made them not taste very well as adding spices on cooked food is not the same as having the food cooked in spice. But generally good place.

Ocean basket is a well known franchise that serve consistently good food. Service complimented the entire dining experience.

Sea food lovers den. Had King size prawns platter with vegetables. I wasn’t disappointed at all. Great service with great staff. Excellent for evening get togethers.

Amazing food always and great service. Atmosphere is good and comfortable. Works for business meetings, family meals or meals with friends. Smoking and non smoking seating area as well as outdoor and indoor seating area.

If you are seafood lover then this place us your paradise. I personally liked the jumbo prawn platter. The serving style is unique though the service needs improvement. In terms of cost, it is not a pocket friendly place. I liked their Cape Town branch more than the Nairobi one.

Their shrimp is worth a try. They have excellent service. The atmosphere here is calm and elegant. Definitely a good place for date nights. The restaurant is unique and different from most restaurants in the city. It is a heaven for the sea-food lovers.

I like their fish and passion fruit mojito. Unfortunately the last time I visited they didnt put any mint so twas kinda bland. See pictures below. I know im being petty but whatever...

The Sushi is just delicious

Fantastic sea food restaurant. A starter of delicious roasted prawns. The main dish was a huge platter of fish, lobsters and prawns washed down with some wine - Sweet Malbec Birds and bees. Of course the dessert was to die for, ice cream with a cherry and fluffy muffins. The service is fantastic and they had an after 4 pm offer of Oysters with Champagne.

Had salmon, I wish it had some kind of sauce with it. Found the meal to be too dry.

Usually an amazing seafood restaurant. However on this occasion the service was below par. My friend and I were ignored for more than 30 minutes and had to approach one of the waiters to request for service. This was very unusual as it was a Monday evening and the restaurant was not busy. Furthermore, I ordered a seafood platter with comes with various options for sides but was only given one option.

I visited ocean basket looking to explore and have my first taste of sea food. First, I should say Its a beautiful space, especially at night the environment is ambient. We got great service from a young male waiter who understood we were first timers . However, I after the experience, Im still not a huge fan of sea food.

Really like it and we have struggled to find a decent fish restaurant that we liked. It isnt amazing because it is a chain and the cajun grilled food didnt have any extra kick to it. But for 8000 for 3 of us sharing a platter with 3 extra sides and 2 rounds of drinks, we liked it overall

Best sea food cuisine with a variety to choose from.

A really nice restaurant and bar. The setting is perfect with indoor and outside sitting. The outdoor part is especially ideal on a good weather day to enjoy a meal or just for drinks. Perfect spot for dinner and happy hour. Ample parking too. Oh, and of course amazing sea food!

Love this place. The ambiance is great and the food is excellent. I usually get the family style platter and that has a lot of food and options. Sometimes they have a live band at dinner time which is always great.

The first time I went, I ordered one of the pan fried fish with butternut mash. I was sold. This place is great.I went back and ordered sushi. Serious disappointment. Fish & chips on the next visit, same story.Finally I went back and repeated my first order - and was delighted again. So there are some great menu items and some serious disappointments. Great space though and the staff are good and attentive.
