Loved the vibe of this place. Lots of food and drinks options to choose from. There was football match going on which had its own vibe and later there was performance going on which was another vibe. Lived the place and hope to visit again.

If I could rate this place less than one star I would.Ive never felt so uncomfortable in my life... My friend and I didnt notice the theme of the pub when we walked in due to the decieving name of the bar, Obama. Once we sat down though, the theme of the bar became apparent.The walls are covered in photos glorifying British colonialism in Africa. And pretty much all the pictures with spot lights are ones with black people in subservient depictions or white people of power at the time, like officers and the queen.I was the only person of color in the bar and the music was a live Irish man playing Bob Marley but accompanied by the tone deaf wall decor and theme, it felt isolating rather than welcoming to an Afro person. Please if youre a person of color, be warned, this place appears overtly racist, and will probably be a terrible time.The drinks we had there were lackluster and certainly not worth the buzz kill at the end of our evening.

Openly racist restaurant, with a racist theme inside glorifying colonialism and portraying minorities as inferior. Sickening.Cannot believe that a global city like Barcelona would allow such bigotry to exist in the open.Food wasnt good either.

Deeply racist and unreflective towards the dignity of the African people depicted on the photographs, which are meant to decorate the walls. Sorry guys, this is a three thumbs down.To call the bar Obama, after the first black American President in history makes it even worse. I think Barack Obama should be informed about the misuse of his name.

Amazing pub with live music! If you’re from the states/canada and wanna get a taste of home come here!Very cozy interior! Amazing selection of songs! They have a few small tables outside and clean toilets in the basement

The most racist bar I have ever seen. My friends and I didnt realize until after we sat down and really looked around. The owners must be colonial era obsessed lunatics. The place is COVERED with the most disgusting pictures and to name it Obama makes you know the actual intentions of what they were trying to do. Do they think this is funny? Still cant believe what I saw. I would never recommend this place to anyone. If the owners see this message SHAME ON YOU and I only wish you the worst. Disgusting...

We happened upon this wonderful restaurant/bar whilst walking around Barcelona, it was such a cool place! Lots of interesting pictures on the walls, friendly staff who spoke excellent English, and a really good pub menu.The food was very good and prices are great. Highly recommend.

The kitchen is not clean .. found a bug leg in my food 🤢 thank god I found it before i started eating .. if you are planning to come here, only get drinks

If you want to watch English Premier League football, this is an excellent choice. The wait staff are terrific - professional and pleasant and with decent English for those who don’t speak Spanish. The food choices range from typical tapas to more pub-like food (e.g., mini burgers and thin fries for kids), and the kitchen delivers the food pretty quickly, with a nice presentation. There are plenty of drinks choices, as you’d expect. I’ve noticed some reviewers questioning the British colonial Africa theme. A couple of times when I was there, however, tourists from South Africa and Botswana were having a great time watching the Springboks playing rugby. There are plenty of choices of bars to watch sports in. Barcelona and in my view this is one of the most relaxing. Recommended.

Interesting restaurant/bar with an interesting menu and vibe. I had the mini burger and it was ok. Had very interesting photos that looked like pictures of families with slaves and their masters which brought up some questions but ok. Service was good but nothing spectacular. Mostly western music with the one artist with a guitar who performed.

Ok food and they charged our virgin mojito as the ones with alcohol!

Atmosphere was kind of weird with the many pictures/signs and dark setting. Music that was playing was great. Food was solid, steak wasn’t too flavorful but was still good. Pasta carbonara was very good and there are many different options for everyone. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. Service was great, waitresses were very friendly. Didn’t have drinks but they seem good with many options. Great bang for your buck and portions are a good size.

Great experience! Went for lunch and the whole family had a great time, great food, and an ice cold beer (which really hot the spot!)Our server, Sam, was fantastic. She helped us navigate the menu and even some good travel tips for the remaining days in Spain. Thanks Sam, you’re a rockstar;)

Suzie was our waitress. An asset to any establishment, just the exact person you want customer facing; personable, humourous and very polite.There is a vast pictorial history on the walls which is a great reminder from whence we came.The food was OK, typical of central Barcelona. I cant rate it 5 stars because the food is only OK.

I never write reviews but wowww… WORST restaurant I’ve ever been to. In every aspect. Don’t go here!Celebrates colonialism openly. This made our group and other guests feel very uncomfortable. The walls are fully covered with pictures/references to colonial times as if they are glorifying it. Every table states “British Africa”.They are showing off pictures of white colonialists in white suits while mocking black Africans and their culture. Awful experience and the racism is bluntly clear!!Shocked that this is still open. It is not innocent at all.We ordered before seeing the inside and the food was also really bad. I regret spending money here. Will never ever go back. And I think this place should shut doors.

Have been there with couple of friends (+- 10 peopleand 4 had estomach issues afterwards... we tried most of the fried food available, with beer and mojitos.. and for sure it was too heavy 🙃

The atmosphere is nice but the cocktails are too sweet, everyone at the table complained. Even the sangria de cava (apparently they finished the normal onewas too sweet and pink. Live music is a plus.

Very nice place. We walked in randomly and we had a good suprize to see they had live music. Great atmosphere, staff was ok especially Brayan , he was very polite and managed the busy place with success. Not do friendly some bold bartender wich i found to be very feed up with people but Brayan saved the night :)good place to go

Honestly cant really believe there is a colonialism themed bar in Barcelona.Super racist pictures and ornaments literally adorned everywhere on the walls. Dont understand how this hasnt been flagged over and over for them since they have been open for a good few years. Truly wild. Dont go here.Ended up here due to the bar being able to host a table of 12 for drinks and a friend who booked it didnt really research and thought the name was funny.

Live music place. Sometimes really nice singers/performers. Bad (or goodthing is you can only by big beers from tal. Not the best food but they have open almost all night the kitchen.

The beer is good. The atmosphere is ok. Be careful of the security guards. I was leaving the bar but my friend was still there. I left money with my friend for my beers (since we were on the same tabbut they wouldn’t let me get in my cab and leave…even though my friend was there and he had the money for the bill. Even though it was a misunderstanding, the guard was rude, didn’t apologize, and acted like it was my fault even though I tried to be the honest one. The waitress understood but the security guard didn’t…and sadly it was the security guard who made the bar look bad. I would just avoid this place. Plenty of bars to attend who don’t harass their clientele. Just my opinion.

Normally it’s a better kind of an Irish pub with good live music and good cocktails (the whiskey sour was perfect).But in this times you can’t present many racist photos on the wall.Please act!

The food is good and the portions are normal. Staff is quite hectic but really nice. Prices are reasonable, normal for Barcelona. The only thing is that it was quite cold downstairs where we were sitting, for a little while is fine but for a meal over 20 min is a bit too cold.

I visited Obama on a Sunday night during El Classico and it was PACKED. We arrived almost 45 minutes before the game and almost didn’t get in. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the drinks and service were top notch. I would definitely come back for a drink or to watch another Barça game.

This place is great for live music after 10/11pm. It has a really lively atmosphere and a great vibe. Prices are average but the service was mixed. Some staff were normal and others extremely rude and snappy.

Watched a champions league match at the Obama English Pub last evening. A good mix of fans from both sides were there. The beers were big name, and of course they had Guinness, but no craft beer that I recall. Lots of tvs so if you are looking for a match, its a decent option.

If youre an expat or enjoy British pubs then this one is worth a look.Good value for money fast food and a full bar. Nicely decorated, too!

This was a reluctant visit for me as I prefer when in Spain to eat local rather than what I can get back in the UK. I was pleasantly surprised. Really nice atmosphere. Cosy. Staff are attentive and helpful. Gave great food and alcohol recommendations. The food was really tasty. Id definitely come back.

We were welcomed by a nice waitress. The food didn’t take too long. And was amazing. You can get some really good cocktails, even virgin if you like. Mind that it is a pub so the music is a bit laughter than a regular cafe, we kinda got used to it after we got the food. Been there for a corporate dinner/game watching in the basement; felt vicarious embarrassment the whole time we were there. What could have been a cozy pub (the space is wooden and well, spaciouslooks more like a cringe-worthy exhibition of photos and posters glorifying British colonialism in Africa.The food didnt improve the impression - the Margherita I got was, without exaggeration, THE worst Margherita Ive had in my life. It tasted like cheap store-bought frozen pizza (possibly wasthat was made even worse by letting it sit in the oven until the crust turned hard and the cheese brown and crispy. Nachos werent the worst I had, but the cheese was over-baked here as well.The only reason for an extra star is our server for the night, Alejandra, who was very sweet and showed marvelous hospitality despite working in a place like that (and serving people like us :)). The booze selection (whiskeys in particularis also quite long.

When you get sick of Paella and Crocettes and want an American Club Sandwich/Fries etc- go to this place. The owner has put a lot of thought into the decor. English African theme. We were told he chose the name Obama, because he loves Obama. We Trump supporters still give this place a 5 Star for reliable food, nice waiters, fun relaxing atmosphere with 80s Rock music.

Great service and a fun place to drink. Visited the place on a Wednesday night and they played great 90s music. Then a band added to the flavor of the place - fun music to dance to. The bar has no reference to former US president Barack Obama. More of a mix of history - references to British colonies and the continent of Africa. Cool place!

We stumbled upon this gem in Barcelona after an exhausting couple days trying to figure out the mid-day closures in the city. (One of the main reasons I personally didnt fancy Barcelona all that much.)The servers & managers at Obama English Pub were wonderful. Food was typical so spot on for what we were looking for that night.But the decor & detailed touches made the experience!
