Oasis Backpackers Hostel Malaga in Malaga
Description
Hostel manager is a money grubber. No refund due to covid-19, eventhough I made the booking well in advance of the start of the pandemic
MoreComfy Beds, awesome social hostel with the best backpackers and knowledgeable and friendly staff! Thank you to Melana (my favouriteand Manu for being the life and soul of Málaga! Will always remember you two 🎉🎉🎉🎉
MoreMelana and Manu are the best team ever, they made my stay at Oasis the best experience of my life. So welcomed!!I wouldnt have stayed in Málaga so long without them here.Manus humour and cooking is the BEST.Make sure after he makes you a meal you tell him you like his cook!I love Manus cook!!
MoreI stayed in this hostel for 2 nights and had a great time! When I arrived, I was checked in by the lovely Dora, she is super fun and nice. Milena was also very kind and helpful and suggested me a few places that I must see during my short stay.
MoreFrom Morocco with love,Since 2015, all the times I go to Malaga I book this hostel and I spent more than 50 nights there so far! Was also in Oasis Granada & Sevilla. This time I was attended by Manu the Argentinian guy and Milena the Italian girl. They were very nice and helpful. Manu even went out with us after work for drinks and showed us a cool bar.The only thing that should be changed in the hostel are:1- Add a TV2- The roof bar: it will be nice to have it only for hostels customers3- Also please add some electrical plugs in the common area by the elevator/locker and near the kitchen so we can charge phones/laptops while there.See you next time guys! Thanks again.
MoreAmazing hostel. Good location and cool environment. Dora is the best receptionist that I ever met, she had always a solution to every problem I had💞
MoreAmazing atmosphere, staff is super friendly. Clean, tidy. Located right in the city centre
MoreFriendly people, but how can you sell your roof? They don’t serve people wearing slippers/flip flops. I like wearing them, not an Aussie friendly place. The hostel doesn’t really have a nice chill out area or many places to sit with your laptop and a plug socket nearby.
MoreI have stayed here a few times, was a very pleasant stay and with the great service and helpfulness of Sergey a very nice gent. Also Marina was helpful too. Great place would highly recommend. Gracias James.
MoreI stayed one night, on patio downstairs people were smoking and all smell went straight to window next to by bed (room 3People were arguing very loud during night time. Design is nice, same as location but I couldn’t rest there.
MoreIts a nice hostel located centrally. Walking distance from most of the Malaga tourist spot. Cathedral and Rome theater is less than 10 mins walk. The location of the hostel maybe a bit dodgy but inside, its all clean and spacious. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.
MoreGreat hostel and even greater Pub Crawl. Thanks for the amazing stay and the fun nights with South Tours!
MoreDo not book this Hostel. To much Theft . Carlos on evening reception is on a mission to completely ruin your hostel experience.
MoreThis hostel makes you feel right at home. Annie, the manager, if youre lucky to meet her, from the time you walk in the place, will make you feel welcome. I stayed at many hostels across Spain, and believe me, her crew runs one of the best. Juan, the bartender and Fran, the receptionist are also cool and made travelling alone around Granada great with their wonderful recommendations. They also play a mean guitar, and youll be lucky to get to hear them over a nice sangria that Juan can make you at the hostel bar. Dont forget to take advantage of the walking tour to Sacromonte and other historical parts of the city. Youll love it.
MoreBeautiful place to stay while on voyage; you can party, meet people and have tons of diverse fun. I totally recommend the pubcrwl. Staff is friendly too, they do their max all the time to keep you happy (special thanks to my men Serge and Chris). Whenever my travels take me to Malaga, this is my place to stay.
MoreTo be honest, Dori is the greatest hostess I ever met. Everything was clean, that’s the best cheap accommodation in Malaga❤️❤️❤️
MoreRooms are hot and have no ventilation. All hot climate hostels Ive ever been to at least provide a fan however this is my first one in Spain. Beds sucked too (this is my first time complaining about a bed...or even writting a review)
MoreTerrible experience in this hostel. The works are pretty okay, but the bathroom was dirty and some guys that was sharing the room are completely stupid. I know this a party hostel, but when someone start tap you bed at night, its enough to me....
MoreThis is one of the best hostel in Malaga with great and welcoming staff like Melania, chloe and Carlos etc...even the cleaner its such a pleasent and effective. But unfortunately the facilities are getting worse such as computers as last year two of them was working and this year one of them but not even good. It was evident that the receptionist were struggling with their computers and took some times to find information. I hope the management consider this issue. Also its so annoying that over weekend the prices are more than double and i had to leave on Friday and come back on Sunday.
MoreI have stayed in other Oasis hostels and had an amazing time, but I left Oasis Malaga feeling disappointed. It should not be advertised as a party hostel. There was zero atmosphere, despite having the facilities to encourage a social ambience, there wasnt one.Staff were relatively helpful, although when I asked for recommendations they couldnt give me any.My expectations were high due to previous experiences and I was left disillusioned. On a positive, the hostel was kept very clean.
MoreGreat hostel, nice staff, economical for students with kitchen and common areas also where you can meet other travelers also. Had a great time, would recommend to everyone
MoreGreat hostel in to the city centre, with famous night club in to the rooftop. The rooms are very cosy and spacious, not small (usually in hostels). If you are in the upper floor you can hear the noise which coming from the night club, so if you want to sleep well you better chose first or second floor. The staff is very friendly, you have very well equipped kitchen also, so you can prepare your meals. Great value for the money...
MoreJust perfect hostel! Loved 4-beds room with private bathroom, very cosy and clean! Made me feel like home! I met amazing friends there from all around the world: New Zealand, Canada, Norway, Scotland, Germany and Argentina, and many many more. Ill miss them a lot! Optimal location in the center of Malaga. Beautiful rooftop bar. And last but no least, the staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Milena from Italy is the kindest host ever!PS little tip: In winter bring a proper pijama or ask for an additional blanket, the winter nights in Malaga might be very coolIt was really difficult to leave that place and I would definitely come back again to this amazing Oasis hostel!
MoreI slept in a shared 4 bed room 11. Pros: Very central, general quiet, very clean, nice staff. Cons: a bit noise from common areas, the heater in the room can only be turned on from the reception and stops automatically after some hours.
MoreA good hostel for making a short trip. People are nice. Everything was clean. And its reasonable cheaper. Plus its centrally located.
MoreI saw some little kids over there plus they couldnt charge my card had to cancel. Good location though ... too many policies
MoreHad 10 great days here meeting lots of interesting people including many who were competing in the Malaga athletic event. Comfy beds and plenty of facilities to keep everyone happy. Not sure when but I shall definitely be returning. 😊
MoreThe good; The rooms have refrigerators, which is nice to have in such a warm place. The rooms are also not super crowded bed-wise, and the bathroom quality is good considering what you normally get in hostels. Now to the bad stuff, that sadly largely outweighs the good.Right now its 03:11 AM, and half my 10-man-bedroom is simply unable to sleep due to the very squeeky and noisy beds, which wouldnt have been a problem that caused a 2-star-review if it wasnt for the staff participating in a very loud conversation right outside the hotel and our very un-sound-proof windows. Asking the staff if they could be more quite wasnt a long-term-solution, as their voices were only lowered for about 10 minutes. My no. 1 ask in a hotel/hostel is that I can get a good nights sleep; this hostel simply isnt for people who cant sleep with squeeky beds and loud people outside. Also, if you are considering this hostel for a student-trip, I would not advice it. The check-in was a mess - looking away from the fact that we got our rooms 2.5 hours too late, handling key-cards, depositum, room-lists and ID check was a much more complicated situation than it couldve been.
MoreRooms were nice and cleaned regularly. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Pub crawl was good value for money.
More8 bed rooms are confortable and spaceious. Bathrooms are clean and excellent. Cleaning service works perfectly.Problems with breakfast! They are too stiff about the time and do not want to adjust to the groups. Dora, the recepcionist, doesnt have much understanding about this. We were told not to eat so much for breakfast, beacause it is too expensive for them to serve breakfast after 10.
MoreNice and clean. The upstairs bar on the terrace is not part of the hostel, so you cannot go up there to just chill. The bartender will ask you to leave
MoreIts like alright if what looking for is only a bed but value for money here is really low here ..Street smells like pissWifi has alot of issues (reception, speed etc loss of connection)Facilitys are not clean and smell badReception is kind of rude for a receptionist and is not so helpful for anything other then check you in and outMy room (1was noisy and you hear everything that is going on in the streetThe receptionist (guyspeaks kind of bad EnglishBecause the rooms are not cleaned properly my room had a problem with cockroaches and the receptionist came in the middle of the night and asked anybody to get out of the room to spray toxic pest spray. Also the pubcrawl that they do.. they charge 10 Euros for it but the guy does nothing to make it so all the poeple stay togetherMe and my 4 friends got lost because he just left and he didnt even noticedI wouldnt stay here again
MoreI had a great stay here. I totally loved pub crawl and tapas tour, also drinking games. Hostel is clean and my room was big. The staff is awesome and cares a lot. Andrea, Carlos and Alejandro are the best. Id totally choose Oasis in another city.
MoreGood location, nice kitchen. But the toilets were Really dirty and the stuff could not help in Any questions. Also the bar and the streets are way to loud so we didnt get Any sleep
MoreClean & comfortable, noisy (see that rooftop bar?budget backpacker in great central location at good price. Great gourmet burgers around the corner!
MoreMy room, (10 bed mixed dormwas clean and perfectly serviceable. There were lots of outlets available, including one right next to my bed with a reading light. The only things that felt a bit budget were the mattress and the bedding. It was a bit chilly at night and the blanket provided was rather thin. However, it was posted in the room that extra blankets were available for what looked like no extra charge. (I had my own blanket as sometimes "linen included" only means sheets and not a blanket and slept fine)The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the location was super central. The rooftop terrace was nice, but while the other guests werent unfriendly, I didnt find the overall atmosphere that social for the solo traveler. The kitchens seemed well equipped and clean, and there was plenty of hot water when I showered. The luggage storage was free, which was a nice perk, but I was a little worried that they didnt give you a tag and it seemed like anyone could end up taking your bag on accident (or maybe on purpose).Noise does not bother me, so I had almost no trouble getting to sleep. If you are a light sleeper though this is probably not the place for you.Id probably stay here again if I wanted to stay in the city center.
MoreDid you know cleaning isnt just only about distributing chlorine cleaner in the room? All surfaces would love a rendez-vous with a flannel, which would actually clean it.One toilet and one shower on 10 people is not optimal.Breakfast for 3,50€ including dry toastbread, instant coffee and... oh no, that was it already... is just not okay. People, better spend your money in another place.
MoreThe hostel is central and there are many bars and restaurants around it. There is also a cute bar on top of the building where you can chill. Mojitos are quite good and not too expensive. There is plenty of space in common rooms so even if you are in a bigger room, it doesnt seem crowded. Its fairly clean.
MoreCheap and super wicked location! Beds are comfy too. Only problem was the freezing cold rooms which never seemed to change.
MoreFun, lively hostel which is great for making friends - especially if travelling alone. The rooftop bar is a real plus!
MoreGreat place with a very nice rooftop. People will help you enjoy the nightlife with pubwalks every night. Walls are thin though so bring some earplugs if you want to be able to sleep.
MoreWhen we arrived (at the time we scheduled), the host saw us and said he would take care of us in a few minutes. He then proceeded to spend an hour flirting with a girl right outside the front door. When he finally gave us the key, he did not explain how to find the kitchen, terrace, or anything. Our beds were rock hard with uncomfortable springs poking. There was no fan or air conditioner, which meant we had to leave the windows open. Unfortunately, it was very loud on a Saturday night with people partying a few feet away until 5am. Also, the lamp had no bulb in it. I would not recommend this place. I would have slept better in my car.
MoreVery cheap. I only paid 14 euro for a bed.Excellent location at the center of the city.Mind that you have to bring your own locker and there are no towels
MoreThis hostel is situated in an alley which has the fragrance of urine. Otherwise the location is quite convenient. There were cigarette butts in the hallway and apart from that the communal areas were quite tidy. The room itself was spacious and the mattresses were worn out so youd have springs poking in to your back. Probably its not a big deal for most people though. Not all beds have storage by the way but that is apparently not a problem because you can use a locker across the street. So if youre a smoker and dont plan to sleep then its ideal. Also if you dont value your money much then its great value for money.
MoreThis hostel its perfectly located, just few meters from an important beach, close to the pier and 10 min walking to the center. Very good option.
MoreI booked two nights to rest in Malaga. The first night was horrible. Besides the full room and dirty shower, the roommates came back Form party without being silent, making an incredible noise. The worse is a couple of drunk young people even had sex in the 8-beds room! The next morning I wanted to cancel my second night and the staff told me they could not refund me. I didnt close a wink for the whole night and they didnt want to refund me after what happened! A real scandal...
MoreIve been in the hostel two nights. The second night a roomate brought extraneous people in our room, not registered for the hostel. Nobody at the reception took care on this. We were woke up by the noises and loud voices . We didnt sleep!
MoreClean rooms, great staff. The location is right in the center if Malaga, so you can easily explore the city. There is s rooftop bar on top of the hostel, bit loungy atmosphere, cool for an afternoon drink.I liked that it has two (!kitchens and airco. There is also an ensuite bathroom in every room, so you dont have to walk through the hallway, its just right in the room.Great stay, would come again!
MoreThe hostel itself is very nice. I wish there were plugs next all of the beds. Ive met some nice people and the staff is super cool. Ive also met some pretty awful travelers here, but that has more to do with Málaga than Oasis.
Moreamazing experience, as soon as I arrive, not knowing anyone, they offer a pawbcrawl, where they gathered all the new folks and brought them all around malga, we then went out and discoverd new local things. Neverthelss, everyday they offered something new,and a friendly free tour guy named Brian did a wonderful job in showing us the city, totally amazing, and really worth going, Location is ideal and in the end, one falls in love with Malga, at least this was my experience :)
