O'Charley’s Restaurant & Bar in Hickory

Food was okay. Not great but okay however I feel that it was a bit over priced for what it was. I also felt out of place in the restaurant as I was easily 30 years younger than any other patrons.The highlight was the service. It was great.

We had Jason S as our Server!!! He was EXCELLENT!!! Very friendly MULTI TASKER who was answering our questions, almost before we asked them. The food was delicious, wonderful portions & served HOT at the table. My marguerita was ok, coffee delicious & FRESH. Key Lime Pie was delicious, cobbler was so so, soggy crust; strawberry cheesecake was wonderful.I had to use the ladies before dinner was over, smell so bad I had to go outdoors to clear head before returning to table. Immediately asked Greeter & roving Manager to address before more clients entered (poor exhaust fan).😥. Otherwise they would have received an overall excellent from me. We will return!!!

Got the bayou tenders, with a Cajun shrimp sauce. Not a very good choice. The sauce was definitely not fresh. Also got the caramel pie. It was just okay. Prolly wont be back!

Its an average establishment. Food was not something to rave about. Salmon was cooked on a wood plank and appeared to be slightly over cooked. Asparagus was difficult to eat. Possibly over cooked. Steak (6ozwas a little below average. Had no dissatisfaction with the fries or mashed potatoes. The steak tasted as if it were frozen, thawed, and cooked. I have never eaten here before and I compare it to a Denys as for food quality. I was not impressed but it was edible. I do say as I was eating the steak I was staring at Logans restraint next door and wondering if I had made the right choice. While I did eat a little slow the waiter approached about 3 bites into the meal asking if I considered desert and if I needed any Togo boxes. A full plate of food so I wasnt exactly sure if I was being rushed out the door.Would I eat here again, no.

The only thing that was good about my visit was the waitress...the food was bland , not what I expected at all...The glass partitions were covered with fingerprints and smears and looking like they havent been cleaned in months . I paid $50 for my girlfriends and my meal and honestly $20 would have been too much...my first and last visit to the Ft Wayne O charlies

Lunch Special 1/2 club with unlimited soup and/or salad... Good value but our Server who was obviously faking his pleasantness, did not clarify he simply ask what soup and what salad. Is that why we did not receive sandwiches? Nor did he ask if we wanted any more when clearing our dishes or leaving the check.

Absolutely the worst food I have ever had there in a long time tonight. They changed their potato soup apparently 6 months ago. Burgers were terrible and horrific chicken nachos that were cold and no melted cheese. Told the waiter he didn’t care. Gross! Don’t do it!

This was my first visit to OCharleys. My wife has been at this location before. There was a nice relaxed atmosphere in the place. We sat in the bar area tonight. Our server was Nick, he was very nice, and the service & food were both very good. The spinach/artichoke dip was a nice change from most places, much better flavor than alot of other restaurants. The hot rolls were very hot & tasty. We shared bites of each others supper. Nice flavors in everything we ate. Nice, cozy place & good food & service, means we will be going back again.

The food was absolutely terrible dry and burnt. The plates were very hot. Waited on our food for like 30 mins and they wasnt busy, maybe 3 other tables in the restaurant.

Food was for fine. Service was okay, they were clearly short staffed but it did not affect our meal.

Was there during a Saturday evening dinner hour. Got there at 5:00 P.M. We were seated as soon as we walked in. We were there for over two hours, they had empty tables the entire time. The staff was very friendly, however no busier than what they were I would not really call the food hot. Items on the menu seemed kind of limited. On the other side of that, Logans was on the other side of the parking lot. Logans was as slow as OCharleys was. I understand that it is a Catch 22 type of thing. If they dont have the the customers, menu items need to be cut back. However, customers are not going to come back with a limited menu.

Our waitress was very accommodating and the kitchen executed my tables special requests flawlessly. The portions are generous for the price.

Eating a nice big salad in the bar is a staple for my wife and myself. On the good side, the food is usually quite fresh and well-made. The service is usually very good and the management seems to be very attentive and responsive. My main problem with this restaurant is lack of consistency. If you order a black and blue salad you have no idea what’s going to show up. I brought it up to them but it never changes. It’s just a crapshoot what’s going to come out on the plate. Usually it taste quite good. The last time I was here it had really slipped and the food was not good at all but I’m hoping that’s just an aberration

The waitress was really good. I don’t remember her name, but we sat in the bar on a Saturday night. We both ordered $14-$18 meals & expected our plates to be full like the picture on the menu. We got our food & the portion sizes were so small. While eating my boyfriend found a long black hair in his food so we sent the meal back. When they brought a new meal out… the portion sizes were how they were suppose to be. A half slab of ribs, chicken tenders ( not nuggets, like the first meal). The quality of this restaurant has definitely went down.

Everything was just okay. Cajun tenders and shrimp were basically covered in Alfredo. Asparagus was almost rock hard. Rice pilaf was crunchy. Nothing tasted bad but nothing was great either. The server was amazing though!

Service staff has always been great. Same with management that comes by to check on things. Food quality is disappointing. Steak like leather. Mushy chicken strips. I feel bad leaving negative reviews but OCharleys has been the definition of bad chain food. We had it delivered (Takeout boxes will affect crispness of fried chicken and french fries, the chicken itself was mushy.)

I ordered grub hub from these lovely people. I cannot express enough how good the food was. I had never eaten there before and I thought Id try something new. Absolutely delicious. Love the food. I can tell its fresh and you have your own breading recipe. Wonderful! I hope you guys arent dealing with too many Karens. I work customer service too. I appreciate you.

I just moved to Fort Wayne a few months ago and this was the first sit down restaurant I visited. I came in and was sat down, and greeted promptly and warmly by Jessica. She was absolutely fantastic the whole time. The food was alright, not absolutely amazing but not bad at all, she really made the experience worth while! Will visit again purely because of her!

Love this restaurant and the food was amazing! My server was Jessica, and she was very friendly and always made sure that my meal was great and asked if I needed any more drinks. Will definitely recommend this restaurant and will tell my friends to ask for Jessica as their server! 😁

I enjoyed the delicious margaritas, appetizer (free w/ the O club app), and entre I had this evening and am mad at myself for forgetting to bring my leftovers home. I appreciate Jessica being an attentive server and her helpful suggestions. The Western burger had great flavor but be warned...its a bit greasy! Youll never, ever go wrong with the chicken tenders or the spinach & artichoke dip (thanks to my friend for sharing!).

We had angel for a server and she was very attentive polite and light. She was timely with our drinks and food. Food came out delicious and in a quick matter. Angel checked on us several times as well.The view into the bar made the whole visit worth it. Bartender today was 10/10

Samantha was my server and was the nicest. She interacted with my 7 yr old who I had with me and he just loved her. The steak I got was over cooked but before she even sat it down she realized it and told me she was going to take it to be remade. It was perfect once it was remade. We Will definitely be back.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch and had a great experience. I really enjoyed my steak/chicken finger combo and my wife raved about the planked salmon. Our server was Ashtyn and she was efficient and personable and did her job very well. We will definitely return for further dining experiences.

My family had a great time! The strawberry margaritas are delicious! Angel was our service and she was very kind and attentive:the manager was also very nice and checked on our table as well! Thanks for a great lunch!

Jessica was a wonderful waitress. She immediately noticed our table was a little dirty before taking out orders and cleaned the table right away. She made sure we had everything we needed and was very friendly.

I haven’t been to O’Charly’s for a long time and my cousin suggested we come in for lunch. Both of us really enjoyed our experience. Notonly was our food delicious but we were especially thankful that Jessica, our waitress was the one who waited on us. She was very courteous, kind and prompt and her service was excellent. Keep up the good work Jessica!

O Charleys is one of my favorite restaurants. We always have great food and awesome servers. Mary did a great job on our most recent visit. She was very kind and attentive. 10/10 recommend.

Ate lunch here again today (Wednesday), as I do several times/week. I think everything is very good. Chelsea is my regular server, she’s the best, always remembers my preferences for any dish I order. Chelsea, Bob and Tony always make sure the food is right, and I appreciate the consistency! Well done!

I took my boss there for lunch. I had the honey drizzled chicken and he had the garlic shrimp pasta. The food was great and our server, Jessica was very attentive and so friendly. It will definitely be a new lunch spot for us.

Great food and excellent service. Our server Mary was the greatest. She showed up at exactly the right times and always with a friendly smile. We dine at O’Charley’s frequently and Mary is the best server we have had!

We have not been here but a couple times but we will be stopping by more often! The food was very hot and delicious and our server Mary was so nice and attentive. The manager even came out to see how everything was. Now you do not get service like this too often any more so visit them and enjoy!

I think I have a great astonishment. I ate there once and had a great experience. Great food and atmosphere. Most of all I loved my server Jessica Heller very polite and beautiful smile whole time.

This place has gone drastically down hill. We used to love coming here and it used to be delicious. This time I had to send back Mac and Cheese because it had no flavor. Mac and Cheese. You really have to work to screw up Mac and Cheese. She didnt say anything but you could tell the waitress was very embarrassed about the quality of our food. The burgers were mediocre at best as well despite being the ones that were their special insert ones. The restrooms (both men and womenwere disgusting. I very much doubt that we will be back. The one thing that I will say is that our waitress was friendly.

Our grandson asked to be taken here for his 11th birthday because, according to him, OCharleys has the best dinner rolls. The rolls didnt disappoint. My husband ordered the platter with chicken tenders, shrimp and cat fish tenders. He said all were good. I had salmon and it was good as well. The spaghetti our grandson ordered was a disappointment even to him. It was rather dried out and looked like it had been reheated a couple times. Lucky for us it was free pie Wednesday (the last one for a whileand we each got a piece of apple pie. I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth but Im glad I didnt pay for the pie. Obviously not made fresh-looked and tasted like the frozen type a person can get at a grocery store.

Food is hit and miss here. Had some great food but have also sent food back it was so bad. 3.5 would be the score if it were an option. We love all of the servers, they are fantastic and take great care of us, the kitchen though, well thats a different story.We did a revisit and this time things were on point. The food was much better and there was an expanded menu. New items were ordered and we were all pretty impressed with them. I had the chicken tenders, and unfortunately they were like rubber. No, I did not send them back, I just didnt finish them. The other dishes were great though, no complaints. Bumping up a star, was to come back OCharleys!

The food was all lovely. The pies werent fancy but well priced. I was very satisfied with the farm raised catfish and they allowed substitutions for the sides- baked sweet potatoes were definitely worth it. Good decaf coffee.

Our 10 year old daughter wanted to celebrate her bday here. Kinda surprised us. She said it was because the food is good and she just likes going here. The food was on point for all 6 guests. Hot, fresh, and delicious. Our server did, however, leave a lot to be desired. Zero enthusiasm and zero emotion. She was borderline horrible. Fortunately, the manager came by a few times checking in and was really selling us on the bacon jam burger. He was very upbeat, likeable, and had a strong presence on the floor. If only the server had been that way. Im normally a person that tips well beyond the standard 20%. In her case I felt she was still over compensated for what she provided.

This was our second visit to this particular restaurant. Our first visit was tragic. The manager called me in reference to my original post and apologised for our experience and sent us a $25 gift certificate. We returned on Wednesday (November 17, 2021and it was a totally different experience. My wife ordered the chicken Alfredo and she said it was very good. I ordered the steak and chicken strips and the steak was incredibly good, I was very impressed. I also got a baked potato which was like it should be. Our first visit I ordered a baked potato that looked like it was baked a week earlier, returned that one only to receive one that was worse. Not this time, it was much better. The manager said they were training a new cook our first visit so Im guessing they finally trained this cook or got rid of that person. I was much better impressed with this visit and will likely try a third visit just to make sure it is as good as this visit.

I’ll post a picture of my note to the waitress, but I’ll say it again.... when there’s a mom with a little baby and you see her plate still has food on it, do NOT take it away without first asking. I paid $10 for a meal I didn’t get to finish because I had to stop eating to take care of my tired, crying baby, and the waitress assumed I was done because my husband’s plate was empty. She came by and swooped both plates away before I could protest. So on behalf of all tired, frustrated and hungry mom’s, when there’s a woman with a baby, don’t ever assume she’s done with her meal. Moms always take care of their babies first.

This was my first but certainly not my last visit to OCharleys restaurant. It is an amazing restaurant, and although they were wall to wall busy, there was no wait time, my waiter was outstanding, friendly, polite and fast in accommodating my friend and me. It is quite a compliment when both the manager and owner come out to ensure everything is okay. I wish I could give them a higher rating than is permittedThe picture Ive posted doesnt do the restaurant justice, but I can assure you that the food was plenteous, served hot, and tasted delightful... especially the prices of the meals were fair.Some restaurants that are fully busy like this you walk in and its just another restaurant, however, when you walk in and its bases loaded and the atmosphere is happy, friendly and seeing friends business partners having lunch... you know that the manager and the owner have a good thing going on👍I would make one request of corporate, however...Im sure that the corporate office has already budgeted for new tables for this restaurant, not only badly needed, but also extremely worthy of the upgrade, but it does not speak well of an establishment when the plate sticks to the table! This is not from abuse, for they are otherwise a very clean establishment, but years of use and wearing down of the finish on the top of the tables from the era when they were first installed.I strongly suggest corporate not only upgrade the tables as soon as possible, but until then, purchase paper disposable placemats to give the customer peace of mind that the place they are eating is as absolutely sanitary as possible until the tables can be replaced.Otherwise noted, I cant wait to try OCharleys other magnificent meals at a wonderful price.

Service was really good. Food was good too. Had potato skins for appetizer. We had the shrimp and cod platter. They gave us free piece of pie since it was our first time there. The manager was going around to all of the tables making sure everyone was being taken care of. That was really nice!!! We will be going back.
