O'Brien's Irish Restaurant & Pub - Irish restaurant in Waterville, United States
Stayed at the best western- used the free breakfast voucher- for complimentary you get a lot of food! Service can be slow depending on the crowd but overall a great bonus to the hotel stay
My wife and I stayed in the Best Western. It was late, so we decided to eat in the Hotel restaurant with low expectations. The food ended up being excellent. We got burgers that were cooked perfectly. The fries were fantastic. The bartender was friendly and attentive. A very pleasant surprise!
Best wings in the area. Hot and crunchy! Washed down with cold beer on tap! Wait staff is friendly too
Never judge a book by its cover !! The food was off the chart.... the waitress was super friendly and very down to earth..
Love going for Thursday night wings!! New favorite is loaded fries!!
Went to the pool and it was a great time super cheap..
It was a cool place, but when I visited there was some really weird smell.
VERY good complimentary breakfast
States they would be open gathered up mom for her mothers day dinner. Wasnt even open huh
Got a pitcher of beer. Nice and cold.
Food was very good, service was absolutely horrible and drinks were so weak I was better off ordering soda. My girl friends ID was scrutinized multiple times. Will never be coming back.
Had a lovely prime rib and the barkeeper (I sat at the barwas extremely nice! Will be back!
We come here for breakfast often, food is great and the staff is super friendly
They were out of several items, but the food that we did finally settle on was very good. Their fries and flat bread pizza was the best.
Well I like to be fair but unfortunately here they forget about people especially if you are a minority because we get serve last!! We only got offered coffee then they forgot about us. Then everyone after us got their food but after an hour we finally got to order, just had to wait half an hour for utensils….Finally food is here but after looking at everyone after us leave do we really want to eat? Just saying I’m paying with American dollars why my service is different then everyone else???
Meals were good, Dining room, very cold. Not enough staffing.
Food is good small but treat you like family. Price good.
Nice little place with some great food and drinks. The menu is rather small but may be Covid related. Daily specials are great. The pulled pork nachos were to die for and I was hesitant in ordering them. Crisis averted! Staff is great and super friendly. I stayed at the Best Western were it is located for a couple weeks due to a house fire and ate there several times.
The food was EXTREMELY expensive.. My Daughter and I ordered French fries with bacon and that was very good! 5☆ for the dish.. The Adult beverages were very weak..( Definitely NOT worth it! Complimentary Breakfast was very good.. Eggs Bacon Home fries w/Juice.. My Daughter got Pancakes & Bacon.. Yes its convenient but you also have restaurants and Fast food all around within walking distance 1 min from Hotel..
Great atmosphere with good pub food. Recommend the burger and fries! Waitress was really nice and food came out pretty quickly. Great food for the value
Nothing special, my breakfast was mediocre at best but my mom loved it.
The lady that works in the evening is incredibly nice! She had about 5 dine in tables plus people at the bar and managed by herself to take care of everyones needs while remaining friendly. Sadly I did not get her name but did leave her a very nice tip for her kindness.I do not recommend coming in the morning! Very rude young lady working. Little to no customer service skills and a very poor attitude.
Not bad..we go for "wing night" been 2 weeks in a row.. wings come out of the kitchen suspiciously fast ... and just a bit over cooked .. I saw 6 orders of 20 wings come out of the kitchen after 1 minute of the server going to the table next to us and taking the order.. so obviously they are pre cooking a ton of wings ahead and holding them... the first time we went the chicken was definitely on the cold and over cook side but for 10 buck I was like ok ill give em another chance...
I really enjoyed this place stay there a week and never had to leave the hotel when I got in from work the people there were friendly food was great and the beer was cold
Excellent food, good healthy portions. Hotel is clean, staff very courteous and responsive.
Great local watering hole, staff is friendly and the menu is simple but delicious. Quick service!
Wing night always solid wings for the price. Year or two ago service was consistently poor for the dine in. Went recently and had a little better experience.
Good food, especially for a hotel restaurant. Nice atmosphere and staff are very kind.
It not.as noisy as many places. I go for breakfast there more often . The pancakes are very good.
I come here Thursday night Wing Night bucket of chicken & beer It goes great together. We ask for Tina she is a great waitress. They also have wide variety on menu all of which is very tasty.
Food was average, as good a quality burger as the frozen ones I make at home. The wings everyone raved about arent that great. Service was okay, very slow, my friend ordered a soup ( which should be premadeand it took longer than everyone elses food. Finished eating before his soup even came. I dont see what the fuss is about. Not returning.
Was not all that great ordered wings came out cold then they came back same wings refried. Moved on to go elsewhere to get something to eat.
Food takes for EVER to come out, over an hour wait for a chicken sandwich. One waitress for a full restaurant, could easily use 2. Obviously a cheap management who runs their staff ragged.
I stayed at the Best Western in Waterville for 7 days and ate here three times and each time I had a great meal and wonderful service. The interior of this place is really neat if you like old wood. Most of the wood was reclaimed from old sailing ship, which you could see by the mortise and tenon joints that were visible throughout the restaurant. The pub/bar area is rich dark wood and is not that lit, but that is fine with me.Not a bad beer selection and they did have one IPA that was not bad.Food was great. I had their philly flatbed that was really tasty one night, then I tried their beef and Guinness that was rich and flavorful. The last night I was there was their wing night and they do make some great wings. The wing night in Thursday and it was a bit crowded that night, but the rest of the nights it had people in there, but not packed like it is on wing night. Also they provided the breakfast in the morning where you can chose from a couple of options (like coffee and juice along with two eggs, choice of meats and toast), but if you did not like those you could order off the full breakfast menu and use your coupon for $7 off the cost of the breakfast.I would recommend OBriens if you are ever traveling through Central Maine.
Hadnt planned to eat at the hotel restaurant, but due to time constraints went for it. I have to say, the food was way better than I was expecting. I had a cajun shrimp salad that was nice and spicy. One friend had a rib meal with awesome fries, and the other had an Irish pot pie with a great puff pastry as the top crust. I also had a very good Irish Onion Soup. Everything was very good and aesthetically pleasing.Had breakfast this morning and was happy with that as well. Food is very good.We had the same server, Dianna, both times. She is very attentive and friendly, and does a great job. Great experience.
The drinks are served in plastic cups.. I sat at the bar .. The bartender didnt attempt to make conversation or offer a menu or even a smile .. The drinks are cheap ... So are the patrons
Place was packed early until about 7:00-7:30 then 5hinned out quickly.Wings were great.Service at bar was good.No more popcorn and cleaning and picking up seemed a priority.
This place was a pleasant surprise. I didnt think a hotel would have such quality food. The waitress was wonderful. She paid attention to are needs and never left our drinks empty. The food was great. Actually eat in Waterville a lot and have to say that I wont be going to Governors again after finding this place today. Last time I went to Governors my salad was brown and they brought me out another and it was just as bad. So, Governors has lost my business and Ill be going to OBRIENS from now on. The room is wonderfully decorated too. They have up barn wood and looks so rustic and charming.
Based on my first experience here, I would say 5 for Good food, decent breakfast prices, rustic feel, but more like a 3.5 for cleanliness and service!
I ordered what I thought would of been something I havent tried before. It wasnt how I imagined based on menu description. Place was dead. I ordered a salad as a appetizer n my meal. The meal came never got my salad at all. Waitress was not personable n friendly. She had no smile and acted more like shed rather be elsewhere. My steak was cooked well done because she never asked how I liked my steak. It was for my birthday. We spent 60 dollars on a meal that wasnt worth more than a can of alpo. Brought left overs home dog wouldnt touch it. I have managed and run kitchens in Texas. If I was the chef Id be embarrassedembarrassed to
The food we ordered for dinner and then breakfast the next day was so good, exceeded my expectations! And the staff were lovely and accommodating of us having our 11mo with us. Very handy its attached to the hotel.
Had an omelette with hash browns. Hash browns were nice and crispy and not over seasoned. Omelette was very cheesy, had a healthy amount of chopped bacon and was cooked to perfection. The help remembered what my party had ordered a month before and acknowledged my wifes allergies. Very friendly atmosphere and good food.
Ive basically have grown up here because my mother worked here for 10 years so believe me when i say that this place and its hotel is amazing. Great people and great rooms/accommodations. Its has it all
Great prices for what youre getting. Friendly staff and its a nice, cozy little pub. Located inside the hotel.
Worst night sleep ever. Everything in the room made so much noise, it was impossible to sleep. Also, the curtains didnt close all the way. That didnt help either. Hard to trust the place was clean, it just doesnt look well cared for.
The service is nice and the food isnt bad. A little disappointed when I ordered the $12 fish n chips and got a plate of French fries with the smallest serving of fried fish you could possibly get without calling it a fish stick, but it tasted alright and Id probably be willing to go back and try something else.
Love this restaurant! !! Great service, excellent food, and dont leave without trying an Italian Margarita!!!! Wonderful place!
Food was good, service was fast and friendly and it had a cool atmosphere! I would not hesitate to come back especially when staying in the hotel.
Horrible service, probably the worst Ive ever had. If your staying at The Best Western do yourself a favor and make the trip across the street. I will never go again.
After a long drive checking in a hotel with a restaurant was a plus. Big mistake. Food came out cold and unappealing. The hosted was great, but who ever was in the kitchen cooking do not want to be there. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Did I mentioned that were the only one in the restaurant.
