Absolutely wonderful
Love it Jerash is a beautiful city 💜
Most impressive waterworks
Maestosa fontana, in ottimo stato di conservazione, sul Cardo delle rovine di Jerash. Sono ancora visibili i sistemi di scarico e le decorazioni in pietra.
Incredible and very large ancient fountain ⛲️
Part of Jerash complex, the bigest ancient city i ever visited. The Nymphaneum is from Roman period, 2nd century. The fountain was fed by aqueduct. Usually, the Nymphaneum was used to celebrate marriages, according the historians.
Art heritage
A marvelous piece of ancient Roman like structure. It is very well build with a tremendous amount for detail. It has some well preserved stone drawings and sculptures. Although the surroundings are even as exciting, the structure stands out. It must have been a magnificent sight in the old days. Certainly worth the visit.
Jerash is a city in Jordan, located 25 Miles North of the capital Amman. Inhabited since the Bronze Age. it’s well known for the ruins of the walled Greco-Roman settlement of Gerasa. Ruins include the 2nd-century Hadrian’s Arch, the Corinthian Columns of the Temple of Artemis and the huge Forum’s Oval Colonnade.Jerash is Jordans largest and most interesting Roman site, and a major tourist attraction. Its imposing ceremonial gates, colonnaded avenues, temples and theatres. It is considered the best preserved ancient Roman buildings in the world. The Nymphaeum, just as most of the other sites in the old Roman city of Jerash, has been built around the 1st century and is from an architectural perspective a magnificent fountain and one of the most popular sites in Jerash.Better time to visit is early morning as to avoid crowds and high day time temperature.

Amazing history
To be seen...
The level of detail in the stone work is unreal.
The greatness of ancient Roman history
The best preserved ancient Roman buildings in the world
The origin of the building is to be a fountain or a water point dedicated to the nymphs of water nymphs, but it began to represent a building decorated with sounds issued in its waters to provide a beautiful view enjoyed by the city residents passing from the main street. The water coming through a canal at the top passed through statues on the ground floor into the large water basin in front of the buildings façade. This wall carries seven small channels with black heads on the side of the basin.
beautiful here.. it takes you to history back in its time
Beautiful
Amazing place
Piece of art and amazing Roman time. Also, the fountain is quite visible
I cant wait to come back i love jo
On the western side of the cardo maximus is the elegant nymphaeum, the main ornamental fountain of Jerash, dedicated to the water nymphs. Built about AD 191, the two-storey construction was elaborately decorated, faced with marble slabs on the lower level, plastered above and topped with a half dome. Water cascaded into a large pool at the front, with the overflow pouring out through seven carved lions’ heads.
Historical
Beautiful place to visit in Jordan. Has alot of history behind it.
Beautiful site to visit with an amazing view of the city.
Veey big a d large okd Roman city. There are 2 amphitheatres which can contain 6000 people for the 1st one and 1600 for the 2nd one. There are 3 Churches as well built on the remaining of Romans ruins and a horse race space etc....
Great historical site, a must visit in Jordan, the visitors and locals are quite friendly.
In the picture a highly frightened person.
Excellent
too expensive,no more wild animals
The Nymphaeum, just as most of the other sites in the old roman city of Jerash, has been built around the 1st century and is from an architectural perspective a magnificent fountain. It reminds of the wealth and water abundance of the city back in those days.
Amazing!

Very good condition and the fountain still works. Pour some water and youll see the lion heads spewing it out like 1800 years ago
Beautiful Roman-era fountain and one of the most popular sites in Jerash. Its highly detailed in places although the crowd might be too eager to see & touch things around you.

Nice
Amazing
The Nymphaeum of Jerash is one of the most iconic buildings in the site and even the country and should not be missed. It was built on 190 AD as a public fountain fed by water brought from Birkatayn further North. If you look closely, you can still see some of the Greek dedicatory inscription running along the middle line between both floors. Also, inside the southernmost semicircular upper niche, there is a cluster of original decorative paint decoration consisting of orange and red triangles on a white background. The big pink marble basin in front is a later Byzantine addition. After admiring the rich architectural details which include gargoyle heads water spouts and fish silhouetted floor drains, proceed further North to the Propylaea Church.
Great historic place to see
very well preserved
