Nymph Falls Nature Park - Ecological park in Courtenay, Canada
Google gives a route location that is recently closed...no trespassing allowed. The locals were helpful in giving a inland island highway route via Piercy rd. The fall is at a good location...enabled with accessible route stroller and wheelchair friendly.
Easy, short walk to the falls
The flow was low, the water was warm, the sun was shining and the trail is wheel chair accessible so all can enjoy this special spot.
Beautifully river falls and swiming area. Be careful of the Very slippery rocks.
Beautiful place to visit and enjoy the falls and pools on a hot day. We came midweek and it wasnβt very busy.
What a nice place to walk. The trails here are well defined and even handicap accessible in some places. The falls are amazing to view. Lots of places to sit down and enjoy the water. There are people who swim here but it seems risky as the river is very fast.
It was so beautiful
Went to Barbers hole for a quick swim and ended up spending all afternoon there. Great place to cool off when the weather is hot! π₯π₯
Great falls/river to visit.short walk from the parking lot and water is right there! Highly recommended place to check out.πππ
Very nice walking path for the family or when you get to the falls there are many places you can swim and have a good time . Not to dangerous for children , there are shallow areas and deeper areas were you could spend the entire day relaxing staying cool and having a good time
Arrive around 7 pm and only a few cars in parking lot. Enough room for 20 or so vehicles. Cloudy sky , sun would appear so often. Trails are great π different spots for different levels of hiking. Short walk from car and many places to hang out and enjoy the moments β¨οΈ.
Stunning!Great swimming!Be careful the rocks are slippery. Water shoes highly recommended π
The water was slightly cold but very refreshing for a hot summers day. Would definitely come back again with more friends.
Fall #1 of six waterfalls in six days. The approach to this fall is the most knee-friendly. It was an easy trail with an a gentle ascent. We let the sound of the waterfall guide us in direction. When we finally reach the viewing area of the fall, it was hard to stop the big grin on my face when presented with the openness of the vista and the roaring sound. Its mesmerizing. If not for the rain, we might have stood there forever.
Its a must see when you are in Courtenay. Has a nice loop trail to hike. And the falls.. epic spot for photography, has spots for swimming when safe... (during summer).
Great walk for kids, not too long. Off leash for dogs, which is awesome! Our pups always have so much fun! Beautiful views of the falls, and fun swimming area on a hot day.
One of the best places to go swimming when you find the main location beautiful an always has sun.Only down side is the teenagers that think the rock flat belongs to them an leave all their garbage ,
Just a short walk to the falls which are beautiful!
Beautiful place, nice to walk or ride your bike. The only thing that I disliked was being known about the cougars π
Easy hike in to view the falls.
Very well marked trails. Pretty spot. Limited parking so might end up by side of road.
Great regional park with a well identified trail system. The falls were beautiful to check out from the various view points along the river. Definitely recommend spending some time here if youre looking for something to do.
Excellent hike to the falls! The density of the trees at one point makes it feel like youre walking through a forest without an actual path. Once you hit the main falls, the trail extends along the river with various viewpoints the farther down it you do. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.
Beautiful waterfall, a lot of space for family and friends hang out. We take the kids went for a long hike, no see any mosquito.
This is a great place for everyone as long as you dont have major mobility issues. Make sure you know how to swim, some areas are safer than others. I would also recommended a good pair of shoes for walking. Dont miss walking to Barbers Hole, awesome place to go swimming but some sections are not easy to access. Its about 2.5.hr drive up island from Victoria.
Best place to visit make sure bring your swim whereI can stay here for whole day na it was relaxing and appreciate the mother nature
Nice blue green water and falls. Was nice to deep your feet in warm weather.Be careful in the hole while doing some swimming as it may go deeper.
It was awesome! Water was cool, trail was wide enough, parking was adequate, place was clean.
Beautiful place to spend the afternoon. Found ourselves a big flat rock, played crib and watched the crowd jump in swimming holes. Bring your swim suit
Beautiful park and waterfalls with great facilities!! Very well maintained and marked trails with wheel chair accessible route to view point!
Only a short (10mineasy (flatwalk to the scenic water. Longer loop to the dam as option too. Definitely worth a visit.
With easy access, nice trails and well marked directions, thisblittlengem is an amazing day getaway. I highly recommend this place if you want spectacular beauty and some peace in the Wilderness.
Heats coming, its a good place to keep cool.Nice easy trails to walk or bike.Very popular spot.Pack a lunch and sit by the water, either on the rocks or the benches.
Wow! This place was very cool! Dogs are allowed off leash but be careful as the rocks are very slippery and the current is strong in some areas. Very cool little potholes to swim in and only a 5 minute walk to the park.
Fabulous scenery! Swimming lovely. Clean washroom. Totally gorgeous trails.
Amazing place to get wet and hang out. Not too bad of a walk down from the parking lot.
Love this place. Many trails to walk down. On a hot summer day you can go and swim in the river. A short hike or a long hike, its sure to please.
Love this area, easy access, not a difficult hike and can be as long or short as you like with all the different trails. One of our dogs favourite places!
Beautiful place to walk around. There is a carpark, no washroom. River trail is good for walking or cycling.
I love going to this place for light hikes and walks! The forest looks different in different seasons and theres always something new to find! The tall trees, the pristine water... the greens and the blues... all of it together, makes it perfect! If you want to enjoy nature this is the place to be! This place is great for taking dogs on walks as well!
Easy to walk through, lovely view. Fun for the whole family. You can take the long route, or the short one. There are many benches along the way to sit on and enjoy the scenery. The trail is cleared, but the nature all around is pristine.
Simply amazing. A must see. We spent hours here swimming and enjoying the falls.
Very short walk from the packed parking lot. Itβs a popular place and I can see why. The water temperature at the end of August was pretty nice. There are many viewing areas and parts of the trail are accessible for disabled people. Several areas of the river where everyone young and old can splash around.
Easy walk to the falls. There is a swimming area if you like too. We were there early September so it was pretty quiet. People were swimming and catching some sun...one of the last nice days of the summer
Great park for nature walks and cooling off in the summer with a swim in the river. Plenty of shallow wading spots that are kid and dog friendly, and separate trails for walkers and bike riders keep everyone safe. Most trails allow dogs to be off leash, which our dogs really enjoy. One of our favourite outdoor parks in the Comox Valley!
Dont miss these falls if youre in Comox Valley. Nice hiking and MTB trails but you can stop for just the falls on level gravel and dirt trails for the 1 km to amazing views of these wide falls. Lots of shallow places where you can hang around in the water on a hot day. Not friendly for wheelchairs really. Large parking lot. Porta potty on site in warmer months.
A bit difficult to find but more than worth the drive. The river was exceptionally high during our adventure as the flood gates of one of the epcor dams had been opened. The sound of the rushing water was exciting to hear. As you walk down the path, there are glimpses of the rushing water through the trees. There are occasional rest stops where you can see the raging river & feel the falls getting closer. Would visit again when the runoff has subsided.
Very easy walking trails that you can walk, run, or ride a bike on. Dogs can be off leash. Lots of parking, a few benches, picnic tables, and outhouses.
One of my all time favorite places in the Comox Valley. The walking paths are excellent, the off leash aspect is so great for us and our very well behaved dog, and on a hot day nothing beats dipping in the pools. Go on weekday though as it can get pretty busy on weekends.
Beautiful park to go hiking at! There is a lot of of exploring that you can do here as the trail system goes up and down the river. Bring your DSLR, you are going to want it! This is an off-leash dog area as well.
