Nya Hattfabriken in Vasteras

It was the only place open on a Monday and I was surprised. The day dishes were really good. I had the vegetarian option. Good service and nice restaurante.

Really good and not much to complain about. The comments are the meatballs a bit compact and the bread in the beef Tartare a bit to crunchy with a taste of burnt. Really good remarks on the Wallenbergare and the toast Skagen. Service and wine suggestions also really good. Nice and friendly staff.

Delicious Swedish cuisine in elegant surroundings, served by friendly, well informed staff. I will certainly eat here again if Im back in Vasteras and I am a convert when it comes to pickled herring.

After a quiet stressful trip to Västerås staying at the Nya Hattfabriken made our day. Quick and very friendly service, very delicious food. Also the cosy ambienté made us feel welcome. We will happily recommend the restaurant.

Enjoyed the Halibut main course with a glass of Austrian Grüner wine which was a nice pairing. Food was delicate yet vibrant in flavors and textures. Finished off with a Macchiato and a chocolate truffle. Great service and food, I just did not have enough patience to wait for the chocolate truffle to soften.... so I fought it with my fork.

Wonderful restaurant located in the old part of Vasteras. We came to try a bit more of the local Swedish cuisine and we were not disappointed. The service was quick and the staff is very friendly. The ambiance is quite relaxed so it is good to come for any occasion. Highly recommended!

Best Swedish meatballs...ever!

The personnel are great – they are super nice and welcoming. But we were very disappointed with the food quality and taste. I order a beef tartar, and I am really sorry to say that it was a complete disaster. I hope that chief will reconsider the current approach and will change the recipe, as this is definitely the way how it should NOT be done: pre-mixing ingredients into a tasteless funny looking something (this is wrong on so many levels), hidden under a layer of salad (seriously?). One wont even be able to tell whether meet was fresh or was it just some sort of leftovers. Perhaps other dishes are just amazing, yet this one I recommend to avoid. :(

Hard to rate this place. Staff excellent. In these COVID times maybe a bit too tight between the tables. Small menu but sadly the only vegetarian dish sub par. A fried cheese in a small bed of salad. Way way too fat meal. And not that remarkable in taste or layout. Also a bit pricy. However cool restaurant and we might return but in that case we will aim for something with less calories.

Located in the heart of the city by the black river edge, the restaurant is an interesting mix of ambience of past and present. The restaurant claims to boast a combination of American and French Bistro. A very tight restaurant where the bar is very accessible to the normal tables and the kitchen is also small enough to be able to see whats going on.Nice ambience, friendly staff and reasonably priced.Food is decent. worth a visit to stake claim in the old place

Had a Hattens Gröna for 175kr. Reasonable price for dinner. Special and good food! Not something you’ll find in every restaurant.

Always good - always tasty, well done food. Often go here for a delicious lunch. Also a perfect place to have a beer or a glass of wine later in the day. Or dinner. A great place altogether, worth a visit!

Wasn’t expecting to LOVE this place and the food!We decide to have dinner here because it was near to our hotel and it had a good rating. When we arrived my first thought was that the place looked dark. Then looking through the menu nothing cached my eye, so we decided to split a Wellenbergare with my husband, as we had no idea what it would be and we wanted to try something new... and OMG! I didn’t expect to LOVE, it was delicious!! So so so good! So, in other words, please try it. 100% recommended.

One of my favorite restaurants. The food is always great! I had the wallenburger this time. We took the kids in at around 1:00 for lunch, which was perfect there were plenty of empty tables. There is a place for strollers but not near the tables.

Great, even superb food and a great staff makes a visit highly enjoyable, however a tad expensive. The Mrs. went for a steak, perfectly seasoned and tasted chargrilled. Strips a bit on the dark side and bearnease sauce with that.Since I rarely get to eat lamb I was happy to find that it was the slow cook choice of the evening, and boy was I satisfied! Best in looking time.A minus though for the noise level and short distance between bar and tables, it sometime felt as if the people at the bar was leaning in over the table.

A small and busy restaurant with over 5 different lunch options. The food was very tasty but on the pricier side. The dessert (creme bruleewas excellent.

Good food and good service.Ideal for 2, 3 or 4 people groups. The place is a bit smaller but tastefully furnished. There are options to sit outside or inside. Inside there is options to sit by the bar, tables for four or two.The food is really good but I remembered it to be better. No complaints about the service, the staff is responsive and friendly.Prices are alright for the quality that you are getting.

One of the best restaurants in Vasteras! Friendly, great service. Great ambiance. Mid-priced. Fresh food, excellently prepared with great presentation. The wild mushroom pizza is amazing! The entrecôte & frites was awesome! The veal sausage is to die for! The special of the day pulled pork with potatoes and apple was very tasty and very beautifully presented in a cast iron skillet. A great location near the canal and old houses area.
