Contemporary Inuit culture & local communities' history are the focus at this small museum.
I was told that I would see a second version of the Mona Lisa, but unfortunately there was none at this museum. I guess it must be at the art museum in Apex :)
Cool little museum with a small gift shop. Definitely worth the visit. Though free, they do accept donations to keep their doors open.
Delightful small museum, no admission fee. Staff were very kind despite being busy with gift shop sales and answering questions from our tour group. The upstairs display has different kinds of fur including polar bear to touch. Inuit art to view and purchase.
Theres a good gift shop w/ Inuit art!
Very worthwhile. And it was free. I was educational and more to see than could be expected.
An interesting small museum. dont miss the displays of carvings on the second floor. The shop has a wide range of items to look through.
Definitely worth spending some time in this museum. The collection of artifacts, the art room and the store are all very interesting and beautiful, a glimpse into the Inuit way of life from the past and into the future.
Awesome place
Really sweet museum with lots to learn from Inuit culture! When I went, we even got to touch some arctic animals fur and bones on display (it was intentionally set for touching). Lots of old history prints. We learned quite a bit of fascinating tidbits.
There could have been a little bit more info given for some of the artifacts, but overall great museum. I really enjoyed the upstairs area with all of the booklets of information. I learned a lot from that area
Great small exhibit of wonderful Inuit art and artefacts. Lovely people!
My thanks to all involved. Truly a gem of the north. Keep it up
Beautiful items on display wirh artifacts found around the Arctic. Local artist sell their items to the museum which is great. There are beautiful items to purchase.

Love the Inuit art and sculptures! There is a wonderful collection here.
Great representation of Nunavut and Iqaluit art and history. Friendly and informative, warm and inviting. Bring slippers or youll need to walk around in socks, as outdoors footwear is not permitted in museum.
Very interesting and beautiful work
I cant stop here without buying something.
Archival materials, carvings, and interesting rotating exhibits make this a must visit in Iqaluit
Great display of. Carvings painting and other memorabilia of the life up here... If its your first time in Iqaluit a must!
A great spot to visit for some history and culture. Old artifacts along with modern carvings and artwork. During our visit there was an exhibit of the work of Alootook Ipellie, including many of his comics and his other illustrations.Check out the gift shop as well for a good selection of carvings, artwork and crafts.
Lots of great information
A ‘must’ when visiting Iqaluit. The museum is full of beautiful history and art. I’d recommend checking out the iPad in the first room filled with pictures which shows Iqaluit’s development, the Inuit people’s history and the territory’s beauty. Finally, the art section provides some pieces for gifting!
Great place to learn about the culture and pick up some souvenirs. Fairly big selection of different gifts. You have to take off your boots upon entering.
Small, but neat, display area. They also have a gift shop where you can buy local art works.
Nice art, artifacts, & old school architecture
Love this history. Can buy some culture too which is great
A small, but fascinting primer on Inuit culture and art. Gift shop on premises features local artists and sculptors.
Very small but wonderful art museum. Beautiful pieces and a great place for authentic carvings
A must see place if in Iqaluit! They have a collection of artwork with a self guided printed information. The museum staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful! The other part of the gallery was prints and works done by well known artists. It was worth the time to experience!
Me suis baigné pi leau était frette en tabarnack
Dont miss this museum when you are in Iqaluit. It is located within walking distance of "downtown". There is a small exhibit and lots of beautiful art work by local artisans or those in the region. I have no idea who the owner is, but assume the individual(sis a supporter of the Inuit communities and their culture.
