Numbers Cabaret in Vancouver
Description
The levelled layout, rainbow lightshow, and mirrored disco dancefloor are super cool—but its the people at numbers thatve kept me coming back. This place attracts such warm clientele, especially on Karaoke Sundays with the fabulous Lola Lovegood! The cheering crowd that Numbers fosters makes every well-intentioned voice feel welcomed. This was the first place I felt comfortable to come out and sing karaoke:As you enter, Val greets you with a smile as wide as he is tall, keeping the place safe and ensuring everyone is of age. As the first face of numbers, he sets such a friendly tone of accommodation. Then walk up to Lola on the DJ balcony with her harmonic helpers. Scribe her your song, and get ready to sing! Shes there to support you bravely wielding the mic. And, of course, Lola herself will SLAY through the night to keep energies abuzz. Now that youve got your name on the roster, shimmy to the bar for a sip of liquid courage! Loti will be on the lookout for you, happy to serve whatevers on tap, including free water (not all places offer thisand genuinely good vibes! Come enough, and be delighted by how Loti remembers just what you like.Amongst everything, youll see Vince kindly floating from door duty, to bartending, to gathering empty glasses for cleaning before your next drink. He sure helps keep the place comfy! Those are just some of the wonderful people at Numbers as of this writing, and really, theres more they do than in this review—but hey, your songs about to come on... get to the dancefloor! Mingle!! Have fun!!!
MoreThe bar tender was nice, but seemed new. Had to look up how to make the drinks on their own menu. Music was good, no dj, so just a playlist I guess. This place has all gender bathrooms witch is such a crock. The straight guys were literally following the women straight up into the stalls. I had to complain to the bouncer because my girlfriends kept saying that these weird guys were creeping up on them. Where can women be safe if not in the bathroom? Get rid of that!
MoreNumbers is the best place to hangout there staff is amazing always smiling great music amazing bartenders door men and women and they treat everyone with great respect I always look forward to seeing everyone there I highly recommend this place
MoreI have been coming to numbers for 27 years and have seen many fantastic staff come and go. Its the the people that make a place great and the current staff are exceptional, respectful and friendly. They really make numbers a fun place to go. And of course I will continue to go there meeting up with friends on any night turns into the best time. A big thank-you to all the staff.
MoreFantastic staff and atmosphere. I live on Vancouver Island and will 100% make the trip just to come here again.
MoreAmazing patio for afternoon Sun. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Drinks were decent priced.
MoreDefinitely the best place in the city. Thank you guys for being so awesome ❤️
MoreI was waiting for a very short time but the bouncer Kiana she was super nice while. We waited
MoreTerrible place. I have no words to describe
Loud as hell but just as fun. Super welcoming club / bar experience. Great if you want to dance and meet new people. :)
Morekaraoke is awesome and the bartender Carma is super cute and sweet!
Bartender Carma was a blessing!
Lovely servers and bartenders (especially Vince❤️great vibe. So comfortable here with the crowd AND the servers. 10/10 would recommendCame here for a friend s birthday and everyone (including door and everything otherwise$ have as LOVELY. They really know how to hire staff.
MoreHi: I am a trans person just attempting to go out in public, [I am very shy] is your club safe and friendly to my alternative life style? Thank you sir...
MoreMyself and a few friends went to celebrities and had a bad experience so ended up wandering next door into Numbers and we are SO glad that we did!!! We had SO much fun!!! I love that there are two rooms/levels, so you can switch up the music/crowd as you like. The crowd was a good time and very friendly. The bartender was great, he didnt mind giving water (unlike next door). We will definitely be back!!!
MorePerfect entertainment
19 87-1992 WAS GRAT TIME WHEN I WAS THERE WORKING IN COAT CHECK OR DOING LIGHTS. WOW THOSE WERE THE DAYS. Also back when Phil opened friend Al gave him aka stolen cash so tom old manager and Sid account guy said lol
MoreFun play to grab drinks. Staff was incredibly friendlyDefinitely worth the line up wait
MoreSuper friendly staff, great drinks, just wish the dance floor was bigger! Lol!
I miss this place ,hope it opens soon 😭
Soo Im just someones mama and asked me kids to take me out to a club...WOW, Wonderful night...They (Numbers Staff, not the kidstreated me like I was a Queen..unfortunately I cant divorce my husband and date a night club...But if I could......
MoreWhat a joke! I asked for the cocktail list and it was presented to me on a tablet from the waiter who expected me to select something right then with him there. The cocktails had no descriptions to the names not even to list what alcohol was going to be used nevermind a suggestion of what the flavor would be. To top it all off I was served a two ounce cocktail in a short glass which tasted awful. I wont be back and I suggest you take your business across the street to fountainhead; at least theyll give you a menu to look over.
MoreGreat drinks and atmosphere!
Great and friendly! 2 pool tables
Pj had the patience to help me find my phone after being closed. I had such a great time at my friends birthday!
MoreRude, unfriendly. Price gouging. Disappointingly empty.First thing they do when you walk through the door is take pictures of your ID and face. Then the staff mocked us on the way to the pool table. It was $8 for the cheapest shot on the menu. Then the cheeky bartender gave us sugar when we asked for salt. And I know it was a weekday but the place was absolutely vacant compared to the other places we visited that night (which were packed).Save your money, go to Score on Davie or just about anywhere else in Vancouver.
MoreWe had wonderful fun singing.
love the fountainhead befior numbers in that aordere
It was cool except one of the regulars (straight girlkept hitting me and drinking from my drink and the bartender didn’t really care or do anything about it so I ended up talking to the assistant manager who at least comped one of my drinks but as a tourist I’d go ahead and say check out some other places
MoreI’ve always attended this place with a bigger group of people and there’s plenty of room! Never too overly crowded so you can dance your pants off. Great place to end the night after a lil club hopping.
MoreAvoid this place like the plague. They are rude, disrespectful and people steal there all the time. Bad music, bad service and overall a complete disaster. Much better places up the street.
MoreGreat place for a fun night, the different levels and range of activities can keep you entertained for hours.I love coming here with friends, we start with pool, move to karaoke and then dancing as we have more drinks. We were just here with a group of 30 celebrating a birthday and they were fantastic to us.I see the other poor reviews about the bar tenders, I have never had anything but great service. Perhaps the others dont understand sassy humor.
MoreGood bar with good music. Some of the staff were nice and acknowledge my presence. The staff seemed friendly and courteous with my requests.
MoreI would NEVER go to this place again. Poor customer service. If youre straight dont even think about it because the tension I felt since I got there was unbelievable. I had such a negative experience. And to top it off before I left we tried to order some drinks from a bartender who blatantly ignored us. Not sure if because we were straight or because of the color of my skin. Will NOT recommended to anyone
More12:30 am on a weekend and theres like 6 people here 😂. Dont waste your time!
The best karaoke in Vancouver. Theres always an audience, and theyre always on your side. I wouldnt spend my birthday anywhere else. Bartenders are fantastic.
MoreIf I can give it less than zero, I would. I wouldnt go there, ever. Its a very bad venue for any self respecting individual ( gay or straight)Staff is so rude and if you wanna make complain, no one is gonna listen acknowledge it. There are better gay venues in Vancouver than this place. Do your research before go there. My experience is very bad. I am a local vancouverite.person of color and I dont feel its a good thing to encourage such business.
MoreThe bartender doesnt know anything about customer service. He snaps at you even when you talk to him in a calm way. He needs to learn how to keep his baggage at home and not bring it to work. My friends and I will never go back!
MoreKaraoke and no cover during the week.
This is the Gay Bar I feel most at home in these days - less intimidating and expensive than Celebs next door, friendlier clientele, 3 stories with 3 bars, Karaoke upstairs, a nice big sun patio for summer. I always end up here after the Pride Parade.Trouble is..... its not always the most bumpin of places. Junction, Celebrities, and Pumpjack almost always have better dance floors or crowds (unless theres an event), and more often than not I get to Numbers around 11pm and the dance floor is empty. I dont dance much, so I could care less, but a lot of dudes would.
MoreSeems pretty cool, but when we went at 9:30pm on a Saturday night it was really dead.
MoreEntering the bar is like something out of the TSA and Homeland Security at the US border no matter how old you are or look your ID will be taken scanned and copied also a picture of you is taken as you enter ...very invasive all to get inside to an empty bar with expensive drinks and staff with a bad attitude
MoreThe only nightclub I go to when Im going out with my friends. We always have a blast here, the staff and DJs are usually very friendly!
MoreUsed to be THE gay bar in Vancouver, but is looking a little dated and usually not very busy.
MoreReally fun place to dance. They also have a karaoke room!
Hi there, you stole my purse last night. I was very sad. Im sure you had your reasons, I just want my stuff back. That purse is my favorite purse. My university graduation gift from my parents. That crappy old flip phone stored all the memories I had with my boy friend and all the contact information of my friends. You might be disappointed that none of my stuff really worth anything, but they mean a lot to me. All I am asking is if you could return any of the stuff that you dont want would be really great. No questions asked. Just want my stuff back. :(:(
MoreNice environment but all their beer on tap tastes funny, and I dont know why. Maybe its because they dont clean it properly after every night, not sure.. But it all tastes skunky and flat. Im surprised nobody else has mentioned this in other reviews. Theres something seriously wrong with their taps.
MoreMusic is great! Staff is super friendly! My favorite place on Davie!
I went to numbers back in march 2015 and to find out two months later that i am band from numbers because of stealing something when i know i didnt and they didnt even have the time to show me the video proof they seen to have. They funny thing is i remember that night.
MoreWhenever I visit from Seattle I always go to Numbers. Im surprised there arent many reviews. Very friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. Really like playing pool on the top floor.
