Nue in Seattle
Description
Privilege
I came here for lunch with a friend and we were pleasantly surprised with the fun atmosphere! I love how they have dishes from a bunch of different countries! We got the pineapple cornbread, Burmese laphet thoke, Egyptian style brussels sprouts, and the Sri Lankan style squash curry. Everything tasted delicious!
MoreI ate at Nue after receiving a gift card from a friend and it was amazing. My friend and I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and Tosilog. The Chicken was amongst the best Ive had with a perfect crispyness and not too greasy. The Tosilog was very flavorful, with the pork and rice being perfectly done. It was a bit on the pricey side, bit very worth it.
MoreI like their fried chicken and their food taste good, but I found it hard to understand their menu. This place is very unique. It is for people who what to try something new and different.
MoreEnjoyed the wide diversity in the meal origins however the quality was not there. The bunny chow and hummus bread were disappointing and not fresh. Did enjoy the cornbread and hummus. Chicken sandwich was a different experience but not crispy enough.
MoreWe went to celebrate my boyfriends birthday- they gave us two glasses of champagne, which made it feel really special. Some of the food is for the adventurous, but theres a good amount on the menu that anyone can enjoy. If you like new flavors and trying new things, this is a great place to go. The service was wonderful as well.
MoreDiverse menu. Portion sizes are good. Food with indian touch and spices. Great Service👍
MoreThe McNguyen was a tasty cocktail. The Ghanaian Red Red was very fresh. The Egyptian Style Brussels Sprouts were crispy and had a very tasty sauce with crunchy. However it was a little too oily.Balinese Barbecued Spare Ribs was delicious and falling off the bone. It was extremely soft and had an Asian inspired flavour. The South African Bunny Chow was very well flavoured. It reminded me of an Indian curry with bread. It was tasty.I food may have deserved 4 stars but there was an error in our billing where we were charged for an extra item and they were very reluctant to update the bill. Their original suggestions was to take the item amount out of the top which seemed very unprofessional.
MoreFriendly service, tasty food, good atmosphere, maybe not enough quantity for the money. 25% tip is included in your bill, but you must read it carefully. This takes away your choice for higher or lower tip. I paid 10% over the included tip because I cared for the servers.
MoreThis place is definitely good for an adventurous eater. They had quite a lot of unique dishes but I wasn’t really amazed, especially because of how pricey it was. The atmosphere and service were both very nice. I liked the outdoor seating especially since the interior is quite dark. Our server was very friendly.I think the best dishes I had were the chicken wings and the Burmese Laphet Thoke. The chicken wings had a nice hint of fish sauce along with sweet& savory notes. The umami was great. The Laphet Thoke was unique especially with the mint leaves and the crunchy chickpeas. Had some good spice to it. The other curry dish and fish tacos were just okay.I think this place could be a good restaurant for some adventurous eaters. They serve a lot of unique dishes, and maybe I just ordered the wrong ones.
MoreOne of the best restaurants/bar I’ve visited recently! Food are just AMAZING and drinks are good. Highly recommend the place! My favorite dishes are spare rib and bunny chow!!
MoreVery tasty 😋 I like they decorated the restaurant with some traditional but cute stuff from different cultures! The corn bread is good, not dry, and with coconut zest, a bit sweet. Fried chickens are good as well, crunchy and not greasy. Especially recommend the rib and bunny chow👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻The rib is very soft and covered by nice barbecue sauce. For the bunny chow, the curry is amazing!
MoreIt is a nice place to get different cuisines under one roof. I ordered the Beirut hummus and pita, bunny chow, and the Brussel Sprouts.
MoreInteresting food and atmosphere. The wings and the ribs were the highlights. The service and variety in the menu were also fantastic. The beetles were fun, but more of a photo op than a dish.I would recommend Nue if you’re feeling adventurous or looking for a place where the food can spark some interesting discussions.
MoreWow! What an interesting place. The food here is so fascinating. The food is influenced by the owners travels around the world. There isn’t even a category to put this place in for the type of food they serve. If you like to try creative dishes you should try this place. We had the bunny chow, brussel sprouts, and the French tacos. Everything was really good. The service was very good too. I will definitely go back to try more of their menu.
MoreWent back second time just to try Sunny Bunny. To be honestly they nailed the Indian chicken gravy around the chow. It was very authentic and far better than many Indian restaurant in the Seattle region. Kudos to the chef for nailing the gravy
MoreIt takes a lot of culinary-balls to have such a global menu, but Nue totally pulls it off. I had the Beirut Style Hummus, French Tacos, and Chengdu Spicy Jumbo Chicken Wings. The hummus tasted good with all the herbs and spices but i do feel it could be more aerated. The french tacos were really something surprising, they look more like a burrito, and the taste is very unique but the french flavors definitely come through. Finally the wings, you can taste that they were marinated because the meat under the skin is flavorful too, also the taste of the Szechuan peppers strongly on them. The decor of the restaurant is wide ranging and interesting in its own right. I love that the kitchen is exposed and you can see the chefs working hard to prepare the food fresh. This place is worth the hype
MoreI loved the food but the coffee being cold, it tasted like gasoline even after requesting for a better one.
MoreA eclectic restaurant is a gem in Seattle. They have food from all over the world and even some wacky Thai Water Beetles! Not for me but my friends have them a try and stated they were simply salty. The cocktails weren’t that great: the food the strong-suite of this place in my opinion. I couldn’t really taste the lime or star anise in my drink, it was just like spiked pineapple juice. The Cambodian curry was REALLY tasty and the proportions were big. I was barely able to finish my bowl. The ambience of the restaurant is quirky and the servers are really nice. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you have a small group of people as you’ll get to try a bunch of different cuisines!
MoreIt is a great place. The atmosphere is informal and dishes from several countries are featured on the menu. Their chicken wings are legendary. I had the piri piri chicken sandwich and it was superb. My friend had the chicken and waffles (not crisp). Great restaurant for a quick lunch. Servers are efficient and friendly, which makes for a very relaxed time.
MoreIf you are looking for the most eclectic and worldly menu in Seattle, you have found it :the food was absolutely delicious. docking a star due to essentially eating all of our food and THEN getting our cocktails but we went at a very busy dinner hour. If you are in the area, definitely check this place out with your foodie friends.
MoreHad a nice and casual dinner here.Staff were super friendly and it is really quirky and interesting inside.Too scared to try the bug on the menu but I wish you the best of luck!We had the chicken wings, Coconut cornbread and the bunny chow. All three were great especially the cornbread and chicken wings!
MoreWe came on a Sunday for late lunch, and surprisingly there was no line. Food was absolutely delicious! We loved both dishes that we got - very unique!
MoreI would give 6 stars if that was an option. The owner has brought all of his favourite dishes from around the world on to one menu. The ambience is amazing and most importantly, the food speaks for itself. This place is great to go with a few people as you can share everything and portions are big. It was just two of us and we ordered 3 dishes but there were so many more items on the menu and being served that looked amazing. Highly recommend the chicken wings and South African Bunny Chow !Went back again last week. Tried their ribs which were fantastic along with the usual suspects but finished the meal with their coconut cake which was marvelous. Love this place !
MoreCame in for Restaurant Week and it was a blast! Glad we made a reservation (on yelpbecause it was packed. They also still checked vax cards. For a party of 2, we (over-)ordered the Caribbean Pineapple Cornbread, South African Bunny Chow, and Spanish Sabores Lemon/Olive Oil Cake from the Restaurant Week menu, as well as the French Tacos and Balinese Barbecued Spare Ribs from the main menu. We also each got the Limau Asam Boi (citrusy-sour plum drink), which I thought was really refreshing and tasty! I’d like to come back and try their cocktails next time!
MoreOne of the best Pan Asian restaurant around. The Chefs know how to cook and are not afraid to have fun with the mix & match of flavors, ingredients and nostalgia.
MoreI loved the design and aura of the place. Very stylish. Food was nice, they have very famous wings- (was ok). I loved kale salad more. The stuff was friendly too, except the barmen. That guy was very rude and unfriendly. I went inside of the restaurant to sit, he started to yell at me that i have to ware mask. It was so funny, what changed in 0,30 second? me getting from the door to the bar, where no-one had mask.In general, i loved the restaurant. It feels so comfy and relaxed. Boxes on the wall and food from the different countries. Nice place 👌🏼
MoreThai fusion food with multiple international cuisines. The food was delicious & the place has a young, Thai street vendor style. Highly recommend trying their pineapple corncake & momosa.
MoreDo not recommend. It may have been an off day, but service was one of the worst I’ve had. Long wait times to get in and to get waters. We ordered the chicken & waffles which turned out to be just hellishly spicy wings (all wings, no breast or thighand the soggiest waffles. It’s so clear when a restaurant costs a dish low ($7to make a large markup. At $20, I can go to a Safeway and buy ingredients to make the same dish for $8.To top it off, bottomless coffee was no saving grace. The waitress did not even ask how our food was when she saw I returned the plate with just one bite. Even an honest apology could go as far.Sadly, based on all of that, not only do I wish I could give them 0/5 stars, but I will likely never come back.
MoreThe Brussels sprouts are one of the best I have tried in my life 😋... they have food or recipes from all over the world 🌎I like the ambience like relax and casual but always inviting you to travel lolCool place
MoreIf you’re missing your wanderlust itch scratched due to the pandemic, look no further than Nue. I tried the McNguyen (Irish Vietnamese Whiskey), the Kat Chai, the pineapple cornbread, hummus, the Jumbo Wings, and the Spareribs. Everything was well spiced with the ability to transport you to the inspiring country.I was only disappointed by the sweetness of the spareribs. It felt like Nue was catering to Americans with the ribs’ flavoring, and the sweetness really didn’t balance well the other flavors in the dish.I will be returning to enjoy the new menu items when they come.
MoreGreat place! Went back home to visit for thanksgiving this past year, and was so grateful of how convenient it was to make reservations (through Yelp). You absolutely have to have their fried rice. I am Filipino myself, and their fried rice is amazing. I do wish the gluten free coconut bread was larger, but it was delicious and I would’ve ordered more. Next time I am back, I hope they can add more vegetarian or even pescatarian options to their menu, because I want to eat a lot more of their food. Even my baby sister who is 13 and very picky, enjoyed the Filipino breakfast platter. If you order anything from this place, make sure you at least try a side of the garlic fried rice! Overall lovely place with a unique international theme.
More10 out of 5, would recommend! It’s such an adorable place, its clean, great music from all over the world, the service was fantastic (thanks peter!and this South African bunny chow was even better than I expected! The bread is toasty on the outside and the curry is a huge burst of savory flavor.
MorePretty good food! The South Africa sunny bunny tastes great, but it may get a little bit salty after you eat half dish. The tower of chengdu wings is also great and pretty authentic!
MoreGreat fusion place for brunch. We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. Vietnamese ice coffee was great too. I definitely recommend and would love to come back for dinner
MoreI got the fried chicken wings and waffles. Overall, it was good. You can tell it was marinated for hours. My only thing is that the flavor didn’t leave room to enjoy the chicken meat. The marinade and fish cause created a bite and sustained aftertaste. If I get this again, I’ll ask for the sauce on the side. I found myself eating he waffle for something dry in order to balance the overpowering flavors.
MoreThis is one of my favourite brunch places in Seattle. The food really tasty and innovative. My favourite is their South African Sunny bunny. Do try their tower of wings as well. The staff were really friendly and I highly recommend this place.
MoreWent right as they opened on a Sunday and was able to get a seat right away! The food was good, but we felt kind of rushed to leave as we saw that there were people waiting. Definitely recommend going early to avoid lines!
MoreThis place was amazing. We got the mimosa carafe - great value. For food, our favorite was the South African sunny bunny, which was a bread bowl with chicken and other wonderful things. The chengdu wing tower was also fantastic. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!
MoreNue did not disappoint (I got lots of brownie points by surprising my partner with this choice for date night 😉)Such an interesting and eclectic menu. The Beetle Juice cocktail was delicious & we ended up taking a bottle of the water beetle infused liquor home. The place is small, so Id recommend making a reservation for weekend evenings. The spicy chicken wings were yummy (and not too spicy if you avoid the peppers/seeds on top- 10/10 going to be coming back for brunch to get the wings with waffles 🤤
MoreI love the eclectic menu and decor. It is a cozy space with the tables are put together to create long rows. This makes seating like dining with community. The menu seems to offer something from every continent and no matter what Ive ordered, its been delicious. On this particular day I was there for Saturday brunch. Overall the dining experience is superb.
MoreWe tried the 1.Ghanaian Red Red - Traditional Ghanaian Stew made with Cowpeas, Red Palm, Ginger, Garlic,Tomatoes, Gari (Fermented Cassava), Cilantro and Spice. Served with Rice and Fried Plantains. And the 2.South African Bunny Chow - A Rich Chicken, Tomato & Garam Masala Curry Served in a Pullman Bread Bowl. Garnished with Cilantro & Lime Zest. Along with the 3.Croatian Ćevapi - Skinless Sausages made with Fresh Ground Beef, Pork, Lamb & Spice. Served with Kajmak, (Balkan Clotted Cream), Ajvar, Fresh Onion and Wrapped in a Warm Flatbread Pocket.Everything was amazing and the decor itself is worth a visit. The food menu, which features food/drink from around the world, is a unique opportunity to travel through the magic of food.
MoreIve been here a couple times and each time has been a great experience.I highly recommend their South African Bunny Chow - its full of flavor and is a great portion.Service here is really good as well~Id recommend not driving if you have the option. Street parking is often very difficult to find. Alternatively, you can pay for parking in a paid lot though~
MoreThis place is a pallet pleaser. The food is carefully prepared and it shows (and tastesexceptional. A combination noteworthy flavors and wide variety of choices make this place a stand out choice. Now lets talk chicken and waffles. Youve never had a midnight train like this. The wings are served Thai style with fish sauce and cut up peppers. The waffle dough is done right and served with delicious syrup. Not much more you can ask from a one-course meal. Easily the new come back to spot on my list.
MoreIt was a good selection of food from different parts of the world. I think it is pretty unusual for a place to offer food of different cultures and vegetarian/gluten-free options (though I don’t have any food restrictionswhile still being quite tasty! There is a good amount of attention to both flavor and texture for a reasonable price for what it is! The photos are hummus (light on tahini and not watery, which I likewith awesome crunchy garlic and sesame seeds for texture, S African bunny chow in a toasted pullman loaf (deliciousand Syrian kale and carrot salad with a flavorful pomegranate dressing. Not pictured was the Danish cake, which was moist with toasted coconut flakes. I wish I had it in me to go back for more, but I dislike dining out alone. ;)I dropped by for an early dinner around 6pm and there was still a wait, though only about 15 minutes; the weather was terrible that day so plan to arrive early if you have no reservations and the weather is nice.
MoreThis restaurant definitely lives up to the eclectic vibe. It’s unique in every aspect. Their take on fried chicken is like none you’ve ever had. The barbecue ribs are a must, slow cooked to perfection. The meat literally fell off the bone with every bite. All in all it was a solid experience.
MoreThe pineapple corn bread was ok. A little dry. The taste of the Chengdu chicken was spot on, waffles were alright, would recommend getting the tower instead. The South African sunny bunny was good.
MoreEclectic menu selection that lives up to the fun, trendy, younger side of Seattle. Had a lovely time in this rainy city, the restaurant reminds me of my beloved San Francisco pop ups. Thank you Nue for showing us another side of the Seattle brunch scene.
MoreIf you’re indecisive of what to eat or if you’re with a group, this restaurant offers a few international options. We ordered Filipino Tosilog & the South African Sunny Bunny.Food was flavorful and good overall.Loved the choices! The staff it’s super chill, almost too chill… 😂Don’t go there if you’re starving!Food takes a little time before it gets to your table.
MoreCame here for a casual dinner with friends. Food is a bit on the pricey end for the quantity of it. Their options are more non vegetarian focused. The cocktails are lack luster. I ordered the bunny chao and fried chicken tower which was okayish. They do have some astonishing dishes like actual flavored beetles 😳! Overall an okay place to try something that you wont find in regular restaurants.
MoreI’ve visited Seattle five times now, each time trying different restaurants. This has got to be up there in my top 5. I love fusion/experimental dishes with huge portions, so this place ticks all the boxes for me. The Filipino tosilog was my personal fav. The cornbread was amazing here too.
