Novelty Sweets Snacks - Indian restaurant in Tauranga, New Zealand
Service was very bad . The lady who works there was doing-overacting. I asked for a empty plate she gave me dirt and broken one . And she said have this plate and enjoy your food . I didn’t able to eat that food and feel so disappointed. I would never recommend this restaurant again .Thanks
Came from Auckland, had a fantastic breakfast with tea. Superb customer service, feel like home. 100 percent recommended... see you next time guys... good on you.... cheers 🍻
Great selection of Indian food. Strongly recommended..
Delicious Samosas
Another great experience!!
Worst worst worst place... we came from Auckland to stay for one night in tauranga to celebrate my sons bday... we ordered food from them thinking its the same novelty like we have one in Auckland..its there another branch... the food was yuckkkk...we had to throw everything in the bin..we ordered their special goat curry it was off felt like sand in there...we ordered 2 serving of dahi bhalla and was given only 1 and they packed it with the hot food so when I thought to have dahi bhalla I didnt even feel like opening it...it felt like somebody packed vomit in it...omg what a terrible experience and a waste of money..stop ripping off customers..I would have given them zero star but theres no option
1 star only because system does not allow 0 star. The old guy at the counter was rude. The Pani puri tasted horrible. But credit where credit is due, the sweets were very tasty. Would never go back there.
That Panjabi man is not happy when costumers come. He seems arrogant.
This place is turning out to be worst Indian eatery in Tauranga. I ordered aaloo tikki for take away and what do I get, box full of yoghurt with tikkis completely submerged in it. Just had one spoon and threw it in bin. Please hire a full time cook.
The quantity and quality were both low...Just wastage of money...Worst experience
Horrible attitude of customer service.. these guys needs to know how to serve they’re customers, Even they don’t know how to serve food.. i went there for dine in and they slumped the food on the table rudely, Touching the sweets with they bare hands.the old man needs to change his attitude, how to deal with customer in polite way. the one star rating is too much for them
Last Sunday I went there to buy some sweets but when I saw the person who serve customers, was picking sweets with his open hand instead of using gloves or tongs, which I really lost my appetite.
Very disappointed, bought carrot halva for $10 and its off
Worst indian place in tauranga.
Very tasty food good quality and good service.
Today I ordered 3 Channa bhattura , received only 2 container of Channa’s.Ordered 2 plates of Dahi Bhalla’s , Received only Single container of Dahi fitted with four Bhalla’s in it.( I have pictures, no option here to attach)What a Money Saving idea 😄😄😄Suggestion: As a customer if u ordered 2 plate of anything,. Try to order separately or do somewhere else where you get your proper Quilty and quantity of food. Thanks 🙏
Good food with affordable price.!!
Pretty good Punjabi food and sweets. My Brother and I had Chole Bhature and Amritsari Kulcha with Chai. The Kulcha was a little undercooked on one side. Otherwise everything else was ok.
Terrible experienceThe worst customer experience I ever had tbh in New Zealand. We ordered four meals of which one was Pani Puri. It was served just with 3 or 4 pieces of small boiled diced potatoes. We asked the guy on the counter if they change their way of doing it.He was straight away like there is everything I’m not going to refund your money. Seriously he needs some customer service knowledge otherwise you gonna loose lot of customers like us who have been going there for 3 year. I told him I’m never coming back there and he started talking in his own language. Just an alert for other customer you’ll be treated as hell with no manners and very rude service ever if you speak up upon their food.
Me and my lads went to grab a quick lunch. We ordered samosa chat, chana vatauras and pani puri. Apparently, the guy/waiter at the till brought 6 puri without any filling and when we asked for the filling, he was rude, arrogant and didnt know how to deal with customers. They charged us $7 for just 6 puri without any filling in it. We asked for the filling to go with that pani puri or else refund but despite making their customers happy the guy just tried to ignore us and went to kitchen. TBH the worst experience so far. I highly recommend not to go to that place better go to Preet takeways which is far more better than Novelty with inexperienced staffs.
Went and ordered a BANQUET FOR 2You would assume that you would be given 2 naans and 2 portions of rice well unfortunately NO YOU GET 1 of each and the rice container is not even your standard box that you get from every other place . For $44 you would expect to be given 2 naan breads and two portions of rice with the 2 advertised curries !!!!! . I understand that every one is going through a tough time but don’t be ripping people off. Would definitely recommend great spice as for the same amount of money you get a lot more .Really disappointed
Have been here twice. As an Indian and as a Punjabi foodie from Delhi, I am not impressed. On first occasion I had Chole Bhature which were very homely. Not overly spiced or heavy. Something you would make at your home. The second time I visited was for a lunch takeaway and that was worth 2 stars at best. The quantity is low/barely ok for a single person. I had the Chicken combo which came with Naan, Rice, and a chicken curry (not sure what it was as it wasnt roghan Josh, or kormaappeared to be a very crude version of butter chicken. I say crude because it wasnt creamy or with a thick sause, but slightly watery and I could see the onions in it. I am not sure but I also crunched something like coconut in it. An extremely forgettable experience. The place looks clean enough by desi standards. Perhaps ok if youre in a rush but not someplace Id like to visit often.
Superb walk in curry for lunch, me and my work colleagues all love it. Service fast and lunch for $10. I love curry(coming from the UKand its a really excellent choice from the counter for lunch, home made rotis and some of the best samosas (with the proper saucesI have had
Very hard to find taste in curry.....and microwaved naan
Vegetarian food was nice but meat is not halal.
Love the flavor of their butterchicken. Combos are at a great price too.
Awesome food and sweets. Will go there again soon.
Well cooked food. Spice level could have been higher even at hot.
Had samosa pastry was raw from inside. Poor service
The food was really good. The sweets were good. Work service was really good as well.
Need some smile on staff faces and they need good communication way and I love the sweets , they prepared really Nic sweets but food is average, I had lunch, it was naan bread so dry, and portions are really small thanks
Good quality taste good, hygienic and good staff
Way better than the tepuke one.. good food
Not from around here so popped in without knowing anything about them .had the butter chicken combo with nan for $10 great value lovely curry and nan and was fast and good service !
Samosa is good, but very dirty cafe which stopping me from eating inside. Also this not helping enjoying take aways as if diner room is so dirty, the kitchen might be too. Real shame cause food isnt bad, could make a fortune if maintained cafe better.
Good hidden Indian restaurant in cameron road. Food quality is awesome. Variety of Indian menus are available. Take away available via uber eats or pickup. Dine in is also there but moderate seating with limited ambience. Only notable thing was in all the chat items they are adding yoghurt which is not the usual style of India. Better to ask customer before adding it. Parking is available on the road side. Pay by cash or cards. Overall good restaurant with above notable items.
Very nice and authentic indian food
One of the few places to get Indian sweets in tauranga, maybe the most famous as well. The snacks here are also good. Dont go with too much expectations though!
These guys have same curry everytime i go there and the quantity is very less. pathetic service.
Food was delicious although I thought that the quantity was too little for the price. Quite a few Indian sweets to try. I bought 2 varieties, both were good but one was too sweet for my taste bud.
Used to be my first stop, but let down was speed during lunch break from 15mins to 30mins wait and random price increases.
I enjoyed lunch menu, good vegetarian food.
They are doing partiality for indian customers and local customers. I experienced it couple of times.
Very tasty and hygienic food every time on reasonable price. Family place to eat Indian sweets.
Great value and tasty fresh food. I love it
Just few things are ok to try but not really satisfied as Indian food quality
Lunch deals plus delicious treats. Open everyday for long hours.
Best Indian Food I had in New Zealand ! The food was really great and delicious ! I totally recommend it !Thanks again for letting me the time of a meal travel through the best food of India !
Awsome food at this Indian Restaurant ! The staff were all really nice and friendly and the food was delicious ! I recommend this place if you come to Tauranga and want to try Indian food !
Horrible attitude of the owner towards worker. That stupid old man he is making money by selling his old stuff to the customers.. I dont know how he get licence to run the shop.
