Nouilles Zhonghua - Chinese Noodles - Lanzhou Style - Delivery - Chinese noodle restaurant in Montreal, Canada
Delicious and made with care. Portions are great (enough for 2 smaller meals), and the homemade noodles and broth really make a difference. The highlight for me however is the Chili sauce.. it’s the only one that comes close to my family recipe!
Good noodles made on site. Very popular some lunch times and the line can be a bit long. Pickup: they always make sure you get all your items, good service.
Ive only ordered through delivery but its tasty and with it every time.
Good food. Very small restaurant.
Traditional Chinese noodles, a rare find in Montreal. It made me feel better today after eating this since I have been down because all the Asian food here is very subpar.
Tiny spot - about 20 seats.Extremely busy during lunch time, plan an early lunch (11amor a late one (1pmto beat the crowds.Favorite here is the Oil Spill noodles. Real great combo of flavors, nice and spicy and its vegan too. Goes well with their shredded tofu salad. The Chinese Hamburger is quite tasty as well, worth trying at least once.Takeout carries pretty well, so dont be afraid of doing that if the spot is packed.
They serve very good noodles there. Love them all. I ordered the beef soup noodles (forget how they named the noodle size). Do ask your servers about the noodle size. They will recommend the best size. Also, I tried spicy chicken and cold flat noodles as appetizers. Very good but not spicy at all. One thing is not convenient to me as a visitor from the US: they dont accept credit cards. They only accept Canadian cash or debit cards. Be prepared.
This is a gem near McGill campus that always has a bit of a line when I go by on my way home from school. Got lucky and there was a short line so decided to try it out. They make the noodles here from scratch and you can watch it in live action being made. The staff were friendly and efficient. The tables are quite close to each other so can feel a bit cramped but its a small space so it is what it is. The food was excellent. There is one vegetarian option and its a soup noodle. The broth was surprisingly good! Most places usually use salt water of veg broth but I could taste spices and hints of coconut milk. Just a note about the portions - come hungry, its definitely not snack sized.
This place is special. Really great soup. Good prices and portion sizes, noodles are better than other places. Chilli oil is also super great here - it’s definitely not very spicy, but extremely flavourful. I’ll be returning often. Pretty cramped inside but nothing unmanageable.
The noodle soupe is amazing. You can choose from a variety of noodle size. They all make it on the spot. The soup is juste a little bit salty. Their spice level is canadian style, aka not spicy at all for anyone who eat spicy food on a regular basis. The only issue that you will find is their tables. You will have no personal space. The chair is unbelievably uncomfortable. You will start to doubt the cleanliness of the place. You have literally no walking space.
Very good in the winter, the hot noodles and soup just warm you up so nicely. The value you get is way higher than the price in my opinion. The only downside is that its too crowded during mealtime. The restaurant is really small! I truly hope that they can get a bigger place in the future. But, thats probably gonna be too far from McGill campus.I would rather bear the crowdedness than walk further to get the noodles.
Ordered from here on Uber eats, hands down best Chinese noodles Ive had in a while. Like, everything just tastes really fresh?? And the broth was amazing
I had a spicy beef noodle soup, it was really good 👍😊... Update: second time and just as good as the first 😋
Hand pulled noodles made to order with tasty broth and decent meat.Tiny place, so I took to go. My order took a good 5-10 minutes, but standing outside watching the noodles being made on the spot was hypnotic.I took the combo, which comes with a medium soup, a side salad and a hard boiled egg. I really liked the shredded potato salad, nice and tangy. The soup was huge, I had enough leftover for lunch the next day. The noodles were perfect, broth a bit oily but full of flavor, plenty of coriander too. The egg was okay, it would be way better if the yolk was still creamy. My combo set me back about 20$ with tax and tip.Ill definitely be back, as its only a few blocks from work.
Cold spicy peanut noodles tasted great and authentic. Great value for price. But, the shredded porc sandwich was way too greasy. Oil was literally dripping from the sandwich! Still tasted good though, ngl
You can watch as they make the noodles that will show up on your table. Tiny place but worth every penny. Cash or Debit, no credit.
Very nice small homey Ramen like soup bowls with freshly made noodles and ingridients. I stumbled onto this place and i dont regret it the food was great. The people working there were very polite and positive too. Highly recommend.
Delicious Chinese noodles.Several varieties of various thicknesses can be had — I had the beef noodles with Chinese pickled cabbage. This was quite delicious and rich in flavour, and not too spicy despite all the chilies on top.The service is gracious with our waitress treating us like gold and always making sure our beverage was filled up and we were happy. Please note this place does not accept credit, only debit cards and cash.In addition, they do not serve alcohol.
Nouilles Zhonghua is a favourite of mine and should be a staple among busy McGill students who need something convenient & quick near campus. Delicious hand-pulled noodles with the perfect amount of chewiness, immersed in a rich broth. Dining in can be challenging with cramped spacing, small stools, and loud (sometimes frighteningly sosounds from the chefs slamming the noodle dough, but thats part of the charming ambiance!
Super yummy! I’ve had the oil spill noodles and the veggie dish and it’s really good. Also seems very clean and you can see the workers making the noodles behind the counter.
Delicious food and really great portions for the price. Wouldnt recommend eating in because the seats are very small and uncomfortable and there arent lots of space, but the good is a 10/10.
A must go for noodle lovers! Definitely the best Fresh Handmade Pulled Noodle in town! Very authentic! The broth is well seasoned with spices, green onions and coriander. Good portion of meat as well!
My wife found this place. Not much seating and when we went they sat us in a private room in the kitchen area! Was pretty cool…Try to get that room for a Chinese at-home feeling. 😉 Loved the noodle dishes but my favorite of all is their pork sandwiches! I can easily eat a couple of them. Reminds me of being in China! Try it…you’ll love it!
Nice noodles. My first real noodle soup outside China. And very clean. Nice place and nice service.
Its amazing, delicious. The employees is sympatics , respectfully. The menu isnt complexe, its easy to understand.
an almost hidden pearl! my first visit was on a warm night when I was out walking. I was hungry, and I stopped for the Xi An cold noodles. they were peanutbutterylicious! I had been looking for a chance to return ever since. today was that chance. the waiter suggested oil spill noodle. while the name didnt sound encouraging, the description intrigued me. its a winner! I added a tea egg, and found that it was a perfect dish spicy, noodles perfectly cooked, and just the right amount of vegetable and noodle together. Im planning my next return!went back with two young men who love asian noodles. i had the spicy pork noodle, we tried the pickles and the "burger" appetizers, the oil spill noodles and all got high marks. although I live in "little Asia", between Guy and Atwater, we dont have any place that has as good noodles!
+ Love their noodles! Springy and fresh+ Decent price+ Oil spill noodles are delicious and cheap. No meat given though. Recommend that and the pork cabbage noodles+ Food ready in 5-10 minutes~ EDIT Now you eat before you pay~ Cant comment on authenticity~ Strict about vaccine passport, also need to show ID~ Some menus have coriander by default, but you can tell them not to add it- Broth for Lanzhou noodles is rather bland, not a big fan- Not much space inside, usually a line-up outside
Western chinese noodle soup classic with all the fragrance and flavors. Its all well balanced, the noodle are freshly made in store and you can watch it from the front window on the street, really cool. Professional and efficient staff. Quick service, you have to pay before you eat. The prices are fairly good with 15$ for the large bowl. The cucumber side is very good a must try! Plan to go back to try their other soups and noodles size. I recommend this place.
Wow! The sizzling hot oil spill noodles were TO DIE FOR! They were perfectly spicy and flavourful and I could’ve eaten a second bowl. The spicy cucumbers on the side were a perfect combination of sweet and spicy. I can’t wait to come here again.
The fresh-made noodles are very elastic and enjoyable to eat, although the broth feels a bit simple. Sealing and utensil are of very good quality, no need to worry about that. Overall it may not be the best noodle in town or sorts, but definitely good enough for a meal. One thing tho: given that the kitchen is very crowded (its transparent in case you wonderand that theres no sink within the reach of some staffs, I tend to question if they wash their hand regularly?
Came in with high expectations but unfortunately the taste did not deliver. Noodles are good texture but the broth was not rich or flavourful. Shredded potato salad and cold liang pi was decent. However, if you are looking for a fast and cheap meal and a hot bowl of noodles this is definitely not the worst option.
Pretty good food not the best, broth is not as tastefull. Magic noodles in toronto is better lol
The noodles in this restaurant were delicious, the regular size was bigger than my head and for only $14 it was a great purchase with a great taste.
If you`ve never experienced hand pulled noodles in your life, you definitely got to give this place a go. They serve authentic Lanzhou beef noodle soup (兰州拉面, lanzhou lamianmade on the spot.Their speciality is noodles, so don`t expect to find anything else on the menu apart from some appetizers. When ordering you get to choose the noodle type (thickness), the toppings (because the broth base is the same for all soupsand the spiciness. Be aware that they spice their soup with Sichuan chili oil which isn`t spicy as in heat “capsaicin” spicy but it’s spicy as in aromatic and numbing sensation spicy.I personally loved their food, the noodles are heavenly, the broth is light yet aromatic and the toippings are fresh and compliment the dishes beautifully. The staff is usually very kind and polite.Overall, the portions are huge, food is delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. The only thing is that the restaurant is super small, so ever since Covid started they only offer take-out and delivery, dine-in is still impossible.
Ordered some delivery during my busy workday. Me and my coworkers got the spicy hot pot for two, the cold xian noodles and the Chinese burger. Their Chinese burgers are a limited edition item and it was my first time trying them! The bun was flakey and full of yummy pork. I wish the hotpot was a wee bit spicier but we chose only to get the mild spicy (coworker’s request). The xi’an cold noodles were perfect on this disgustingly humid day, despite the chopped cilantro mixed in, it was still delicious and tasted so fresh! Would definitely recommend and will be ordering again real soon!
Great taste overall with very tasty food. Noodles are exemplary. Only thing is that 1the space is tiny which means you usually have to share tables with other people 2the cold noodles portion is small
There is better but this is good.I love this place and always get the same noodles! Their portions are hugeeee. The downside is that there is minimal seating so there are often long lines and you might have to sit with strangers.Although I love this place, I personally prefer Nouilles de Lanzhou located in chinatown for the taste of their broth and texture of their noodles.
I love that they make their own noodles,it’s always fresh and the noodles taste very good. They have generous portions when it comes to their soups. Overall it’s good and tasty.I would recommend this place.
I’ve always loved their noodle. This time I tried their cold crystal noodle and pork bun.Delivery was fast and food was packed very well.I came from Shaanxi province so I’m very picky about the crystal noodle (I’ve tried almost every restaurant for it). I would say their crystal noodle is top notch! Not very authentic ( sorry I’m very picky... againbut very delicious. The pork sandwich is not bad - I like the crispy bun. The chicken is a bit too chik-ish... maybe because it is cold I’ll warm it up later and see if it’s better.Overall this is my go-to restaurant when I am in the China town neighbourhood - if there is not a lining up there lol
A very small and compact restaurant with only 6 tables of 4, so you miggt end up sharing table with other people. The food is delicious. The texture of their handmade noodle is superb and it is something I wouldnt get tired even if I keep eating it. The service is friendly, welcoming and extremely fast. They brought us all our food in under 5 minutes, I was surprised. Even though the wall is painted bright red and the sound of the noodle slamming on the table, while they are preparing it, might be annoying for some people, I still enjoyed my meal here.
very nice And delicious beef noodle, like eat at China.
Small but quick service noodle are fresh handmade and decent price the only inconvenience are too loud and they dont take credit card
Fantastic place for Lanzhou style hand-pulled noodles. The broth is very flavourful, the noodles are of good consistency and the beef is savoury and not skimped out on. You can select your noodle thickness, whether you would like flat or round noodles, and whether or not you would like it to be spicy.Their standard beef noodles are good, the beef tendon noodles are a nice change but also similar, and the beef noodles with pickled cabbage (pictured belowadd a hint of sour to your palette. There is also a vegetarian option in case youre coming with someone who cant have the meat; the vegetarian broth is different too and packed with different vegetables, very flavourful but not for a carnivore like myself. If you come during primetime expect it to be busy, there is sometimes a line out as the place is small. Their portions are large though, a medium should be sufficient for most people. You can learn anything else from the photos attached.
The service is always really prompt and helpful. The place is tiny but if you go during the off period (not lunch timeyou won’t have a problem with seating. The food is great and it’s affordable. Really comforting and just all around very good.
Was pleasantly surprised with the interior, small, very cosy, but has character and the noodles were perfect with a delicious broth, I’m usually not a huge fan of beef broth but this was excellent. Also getting to see them pull the noodles by hand is always great.
Delicious homemade soup! Veggie broth is tasty (almost butterywith tasty vegetables and yummy marinated egg. The noodles are made fresh too! 🍜
Super good. Noodle is amazing ,soup base is flavorful. Recommended 10/10.
Lanzhou style noodles right in front of Roddick Gates (main entrance of McGill University). Its a small place but the inside looks really nice. Their noodles are really good and the staffs are nice (they offer hot water which is nice in winter). Also, they only take cash or debit!🐢
Delicious!Medium bowl was quite filling Im happy with the portion sizes :D tofu salad was really good, edamame salad was okay. Id definitely go back here ~Place is a bit small and it was super crowded at lunch time. But the service was very fast
Nice & simple handmade noodle soups. Its a small restaurant and tables are shared during busy periods. Cash and debit only (no credit).
