Live music, niche club nights and art exhibitions at popular venue with dance floor and small stage.
This review is about the Hatch coffee which is run by the Arts club. What a lovely experience. On my way to the station I planned to get a coffee from Cafe Nero or another high street café, when at the moment I walked past this little coffee window, I saw the young lady giving the most sincere and warm smile to a customer that I made a U-turn. And I was glad I did. Working in hospitality myself, it is always pleasure to be served by someone with passion for the job and customer service. Thank you for the lovely coffee, pastry and the service. Will return when Im back in the area.
1 star is too much really. On the website they said a jazz band would play until 2am. We arrived at 1215 and the band stopped playing 5 minutes later, we just just paid 10 pound entry! The band was replaced by a terrible dj who played systematic club music and changed the song sometimes every 20 seconds. The volume was far too loud for the venue and at a level damaging to hearing. Lots of security personal present who were friendly but unnecessary. Avoid making the journey to this venue.
I was here with my friend after a wedding on Friday. We were talking politely with some women having a pleasent chat about the wedding. Then after about 5 minutes- the manager of the venue came over and asked to speak to us. He said that he needed us to stop speaking to these women because he "was keeping them for his friends to talk to" and that he was the manager. This was deeply disturbing. We said that he did not own these people nor were these women aware that he had these plans for them. He then did a lockdown of the entire venue. We waited outside to make sure the women were safe. The police arrived also and were informed about what had been going on. I believe that this venue is not safe for women. It should also be noted that my friend and I are both in relationships and were simply making polite conversation. The man who manages this place needs to be investigated. Anyone who has experienced coercive behaviour from him or his friends should report it. The women eventually left and we informed them of what the owner had planned for them. They had not been aware. Never going back here ever again. Its a shadow of its former glory.
Such a vibe, music was on point and bar staff were super lovely
Show started a bit late, giving everyone enough time to down a few drinks before the first performance.Slightly small venue.Shout out to Darnell that got the place popping!
I don’t mind a quiet venue especially following COVID, but a flyer promising jazz music was sadly a waste of paper. Mad banging dance and no-one in. Really not a fun club.
Great venue, great music acts avert night and overall nice vibe.
Nice venue we listened such a cool band but the events manager is a d bag
This was the highlight of our recent foray down to London. The staff were so incredibly kind and gracious and the music was phenomenal. Cozy underground vibes. Sadly we had to leave early but mark my words this place will be a regular pilgrimage for us every time we make our way South.
Good cocktails - not as lively as I’d imagined.£5 entry seems a little excessive.
Great music. Friendly staff
Great night with John Waugh and his Jazz band.Incredible music 🎷
Hi. friendly, local. good staff. good beer and mulled wine. nice selection of savoury treats. great to be out and enjoy the evening with socially distanced people. good work rob & co. jimmy.
I was there last night and the worst experience i had with one of the bouncers there! very rude and looked like he is looking for a fight! . I was asked "where Im originally from"! I dont know what does that have to do with his job as keeping the place safe! I felt it was racial decision not allowing me in after getting stamped entrance as well. Management should seriously consider that mans attitude. I was thinking to file a complaint for discrimination but i dont want to waste my time with such people. I have a respectable profession and work as person of trust and should not be treated that way. Shame on you and will never go back there again.I have seen few bad experiences with security in this section and the management doesnt seem to care! Absolutely disgraceful.
Strong start to the New Years celebrations with a cool 70s cover band that generated a good vibe but the shift to the DJ was a step downhill outperformed by Alexa’s “disco” playlist when we got home.
We missed the live music so you may arrive early. The cocktails are super nice but in general a bit overpriced, I recommend the long island. The music change depending on the day but normally is good.
Went to a great gig here on a Friday night. It was free entry and the bouncers were so lovely!Drinks were a little expensive but the venue was nice, small enough to feel intimate but big enough to not be tripping over people.
Dead atmosphere. Music so loud you cant hear anyone. £10 to get in. Bouncers rude and search your personal belongings way too thoroughly, like taking your wallet out of your pocket and searching every compartment. Writing this as I sit in the place itself drinking a pint that cost £8. Avoid.
Awesome night out - great music and drinks. Really chill and friendly staff! Made my birthday a blast! Also went to a small gig here for a new artist. It was spectacular!
I understand that there is a discriminatory policy by this club against black males even if they are on the VIP list and have ID.Some of the reviews speaks volume of the management and staff. Shame on your organisation. I wouldnt waste my custom or hard earned cash. Will be adding to Trip advisor
Terrible experience with the male bouncer on the Friday night. While Im happy to be asked for ID in my thirties (much appreciatedI was talked to in an abhorrent way and then charged a tenner for my time.
Amazing venue, with great music and a fun atmosphere!Bouncers were lovely and friendly and drinks were reasonably priced, will definitely be coming back again soon
Mix of trust fund kids, celebs and drug dealers (Notting Hill, right?). Ok drinks. Slightly expensive. Good DJ if you like singalong party classics. Barkeepers are really in love with themselves.
The night i had here was the best night ever, the cocktails are amazing and they do alcoholic Slushs . The staff are so friendly!I would definitely recommend.
One of the most happening spots in my area (west london). Always something groovy going on. Good music, good vibes, good people, good times! (Hey that rhymes haha). No grey goose being the bar but the premium sipsmith vodka more than makes up for it. Special shoutout to the great asian nights they put on every month - balle balle! Haha. Keep up the good work dudes and dudettes!
I had the best time for my friends birthday! all the staff were really kind and treated us so well. Will definitely be returning for our next night out!
Fantastic venue - highly recommend! My sister & I hosted our joint 20/21st birthdays here. The management was amazing and the friendly staff went out of their way to make it a really special night. The personalised photo projections, cocktails and music made for a great atmosphere.Thank you for everything - well be back!
Booked a couple of booths for a friends birthday. It was a great night, everyone really enjoyed the music and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, very happy with the experience and wouldnt hesitate to book an event with you again in the future!
Recently had my hen do with the girls here and it was absolutely fantastic! We had such a fun time the music was so good and the atmosphere was great! The bar staff were awesome as well and really looked after us and made some amaziing cocktails! Was definitely one to remember and would highly reccomend for any event.
I had my friends birthday’s here and one of the bouncers was very persistent to try and get me go home with him. After I said no multiple times the bouncer kicked me out for no apparent reason and the manager was fine with this. Disgraceful
I had my 25th Birthday here it it was just fantastic. I wanted a black and gold theme and they went above and beyond my expectations with the decor! The venue looked stunning, the food they supplied was perfect, the dance floor side was packed all night and the bar area with seating was perfect for people who wanted to chill with a cocktail! So so pleased with everything from start to finish. Thank you Notting Hill Arts Club for a night to remember!
Went for NYE and don’t have too much good to say. Martin Skrtel on the decks would lure you in with the intro to a decent song for it then to be ruined by an awful remix. A ‘UV light show’ was promised at midnight but it didn’t happen. Expensive drinks too.
Went for New Year’s Eve and had a very poor experience, the DJ ruined basically every song with an awful remix. The countdown to midnight was non existent and the UV light show was disappointing at best. Left after a couple hours and will not be going back
The bouncers at the entrance have such a bad attitude. Don’t go there unless you want to be treated badly and groped intensely for no reasons!! They also went through my wallet without even asking before doing so.
Great atmosphere and sound system. Door staff are amazing. Never come across such friendly security, made sure everyone who was a bit messy were OK and looked after and they were all up for a laugh. Look forward to going back in the future
A very compact and vibrant venue! I had a very intimate experience with the bands that performed here. Drinks were reasonably priced and they had some great cocktails too.
Had a wonderful time watching live bands here a few nights ago. Great atmosphere and great staff too. Cant believe how many cool bands have played here before and defo on my list of venues to check out from now on.
Good security checks, I like it when establishments are conscious of it. Id recommend to carry your ID with you regardless. Otherwise, you might be stuck at the door for quite a while. One of my friends had forgotten but had photo of ID, so they asked to email that photo to them and take a photocopy to add to records. I somehow thought that was over the top though. We went there on the night when an event was organised late evening. Drinks were slightly expensive on the night when we went there.
Horrific. I went to the toilet and was accused of ‘pissing all over the floor.’ When I tried to leave the toilet the attendant physically stopped me- I told her I was going to leave the club but she physically held me there until a bouncer came. The bouncer brought me a bucket and a mop- and told me to mop the bathroom floor. I wanted to go home and was intimidated by the three people blocking the door so i complied. One of them told me I was incapable and took over. When I left the bouncer asscorted me out.. which was totally uneeded as I had been trying to get out for the last 15 minutes..
Fantastic staff and door staff, very welcoming. Live music was amazing... stayed on for the club night after for free which had an amazing vibe. One of west Londons best kept secrets for sure.
Small intimate venue with great DJs. Approx 200 + capacity. Friendly staff and great cocktails. Seen La Roux, Lily Alen, Marc Ronson, Allan McGee, Wu Tang Clan, Bobby Womack (bless him), Jack Garrat, Alex Vargas, Leon Bridges and many more on stage and behind the decks.
I was here last friday. The atmopshere is good but the drinks are, though delish, quite pricey and the entrance fee too, £10. However, I had a great night so if if you dont mind spending a little bit more money on a night out I would recommend this club
This is probably one of the worst places I have ever been in my life. I would say if you go here which I would highly not recommend beware of the bouncer without hair as he is likely to enter your pockets without your prior permission and also go through your belongings such as your phone, wallet also without asking you. I am sure this is illegal. Inside its dark, small and general décor is very unappealing. Would highly not recommend this place, do not go there. In general Notting hill is a terrible area to go out, no decent clubs or bars. A lot of these bouncers need a reality check, the bouncer system needs to be completely reformed in this country, so bouncers can easily be identified and actions taken against them when they brake the law. So many things in England need changing, England is a joke. The laughing stock of the world! So many times I have been refused entry for being by myself which is ridiculous. This country only meets the requirements of certain people, England is a complete and utter joke!
If I could give this venue zero stars I would. I had really hoped to party with my friends at an after carnival party I actually had tickets for BUT due to REALLY over zealous security this was not meant to be.The supposed head doorman was literally scrapping with a man who was being very reasonable. A classic case of pumped up henchman on a power trip with ego size of planet zorg. Made himself look a right prat not to mention giving the establishment a bad name. Totally unprofessional. And then the door woman who thought I was going to do serious damage with a hydration back pack containing only limes....not to mention my oral B dental floss which, apparently, I was planning to strangle someone with on the dance floor. Totally totally ridiculous....Ive never experienced anything like it. Save for an encounter with Miami customs but thats a whole other story. In honesty we felt more sorry for the woman who was searched before us - it was over the top, lasting for more than 20 minutes and she looked an emotional wreck by the time she made it inside!A shame the security felt the need to be on such a power trip rather than just smile and be friendly....keep with the carnival vibe rather than kill it dead in the heart of Notting Hill.Me and my friends will never come there again which is a shame as it used to be my stomping ground. In fact I wasnt the only one who didnt make it in that night - my friend who is the promoter of the night told me 50 of his invited guests were turned away at the door.A word of advice to the security team....Its nice to feel important....but its more important to be nice. You lost a lot of support that evening...
This club has a great mixture of nights on and Ive never been disappointed. It tends to get busy from about 12 onwards and attracts young West Londoners with good music and decent prices for the area.
Friendly, fun and versatile venue - I was at a post carnival club night here a couple of years ago and most recently a live music event. The friendly door staff gave me a positive start to my nights and I had a great time on the cozy dancefloor and then again watching an amazing live act. The drink selection is pretty cool, lots of craft beers and cocktails although unfortunately their bar fridge seemed to be broken the last time I was there. I love the generously sized seating area and the toilet facilities are well light and maintained.A lovely place to go to for a variety of events.
Great to have a place like this to give emerging artists a chance to be heard and seen by wider audience. I really enjoy the new music I discover here - so original and inspiring. The atmosphere is amazing - so many positive vibes and awesome people just having fun and appreciating music. If youre looking for a new different sound, this is the place to go. Youre bound to find performers to suit your liking and give you some material to think about.
if you love over priced drinks, weird electric music and hipsters galore, this is the place to be! if you want a night out with your friends, youll definitely have a good time here. there are many different interesting cocktail choices and the enviroment is small and cozy for that intimate experience many are going for. theres always the option to dance, but you will not be sure how exactly to move to that time of music.
I dont know why the doormen are so aggressive and stressed. Especially when you see the area and the kind of people queuing. The venue is in the basement and you really feel it = no effort on decoration, no space, no air.The music they play is good but the quality of the sound is miserable.third time I give it a chance, third time Im disappointed.
A few weeks ago I was at a little festival at the Notting Hill Arts Club. The venue is just a short walk from Notting Hill Gate tube station, but the entry is easy to miss if you do not know exactly where it is.Notting Hill Arts Club is smaller than I expected. It is a nice little concert venue with two areas, not really two different rooms. One area has the stage and the other area the bar. The round bar is in the middle of the room, a nice feature. If you like listening to music, you should check out whats on at the Notting Hill Arts Club in the coming months.
